Thanks for sharing this wonderful video. Look forward to watching more. Welcome to KL.
Sambal - ssutee onion, put in blended chilli, sugar, some belacan (shrimp paste), tamarind juice
Hello Ashtriana oooh thank you so much for that really appreciate the comment. I hope you enjoyed the video 😁
2022, world no 1 street food.
2023 world no 2 street food.
We are proud of roti canai
I think he got 'canai' wrong. There are 2 versions to the story.
1. Canai comes from malay word means to flaten the dough
2. A chef from chennai India introduced his own version here. In India, they have a harder paratha. But here it is flaky outside, soft inside.
Ah! OK I'll let him know. Thanks for that Keang. Appreciate you taking the time to let me know
@@MaxandJacqueline he seems not confident when explaining food to you. I sensed it.
@@MaxandJacqueline Roti canai using different ingredients flour, margarine, eggs, condensed milk etc. Mostly not using a roller while making it. There are many variants roti canai with eggs, tuna, banana, etc. Plus eat with sambal, asam pedas, etc.
Similar but not the same with parotta.
@@keangwooichoo6138 you are right, canai means flatten the dough either with your hands or rolling pin. He said the dough is flipped in malay means 'tebar the dough.'
Central Market - Once a wet market until the mid 80s, then it was turned into a place to sell arts and crafts...
Ah I see yes very 'tourist' orientated now, wish we had seen it what it was like before
@@MaxandJacqueline very wet, smelly and crowded..... next best thing is to visit the Chow Kit Market,..
nice beautiful golden statue is that the god of malaysians greetings from new zealand
The taxi grab was correct. Eco park entrance is found there at kl tower
Yeah we realised that It was right there. Jacqueline was just too hungry at that stage 😅
Use grab because taxis are quite expensive, sometimes they charge double
Hello Besi, yeah Grab is always the best! Taxis .... its hard to deal with them
Pork or Chicken Bun. Thailand call Sa-ra-Pau. Yummy. I know how to make it. ❤
Chicken Bun 🐔 they were actually pretty good. Would be very curious to know how they made that sort of light dry dough 🤔
@@MaxandJacqueline You can search on utube. Lot of recipe for chicken steam bun. ❤️
You may visit KL gallery at merdeka square
Food price in Malaysia should be way more expensive than Thailand. Due to higher income per capita. If you found the price are slightly expensive, maybe the living cost in Thailand higher than Malaysia.
Jalan Alor is not the best street food area in Malaysia. Its just a tourist trap in Kuala Lumpur catering for western/caucasian tourists. There are far better and larger street food areas all over Malaysia. Hundreds of them, to be exact!
After our trip we do agree! We loved Chow Kit and Jonker Walk in Melaka. Our latest two videos showcase both of them and we thought they were so much better
Can you name couple of streets in KL for food as you mentioned here. I will be visiting with family soon.
Batu caves can be dirty. Depends when they clean it. And the mood of the monkeys plus their human givers.
Personally not a fan of feeding monkeys as it turns them very aggressive towards humans 🙈
@@MaxandJacqueline you are correct. They expect food from any human they meet.
You are australians? Welcome.
Thanks Keang! I’m Australian (Jacqui) Max is French. We’re doing a proper street food tour in our next vlog where we try so much!!
Guide number please, I am going on 25th

Having visited Malaysia 6 times now stopping over at KL for 2/3 days I have practically done all of the main sites in and around the city like the Petronas Towers, KLCC Park, KL Tower, Eco Forest, Batu Caves, National Monument, Merdeka Square, KLCC Gallery, Central Market, Little India, Thien Hou Temple, KL National Mosque, Perdana Botanical Gardens, KL Bird Park, Jamek Mosque, Wilayat Mosque, Istana Negara (King's Palace), Bukit Bitang at night and Chinatown - it is my favourite city that I have travelled to as well as Bangkok
Wow you've done everything!
