    You are my hero! I learned a lot from your videos! I really enjoyed the screwdriver & wrench you restored! Amazing! I wish I could do what you, but my life was stolen when I fell & broke my arm, 1 year ago. My dr. put tubes in my chest for dialysis. I'm pissed off because I can't do what you do. But I feel like I'm there with you! I freaking love the outdoors, as my real dad taught me a lot! People are waiting for me to end my life. That upsets me. Thanks for doing what you do! My Hero!

    I built an A frame survival shelter in my front living room from Amazon Boxes. It was very warm with the central heating turned on. It wasn't very comfortable though until I foraged a bottle of Aldi own brand Whisky and fell asleep on the living room floor. For some reason later on after my nap the Amazon shelter did later develop damp patches during the night, whilst watching 'Bless this House' on the UK Gold TV channel.

    Now I want to go out and build one of these somewhere... or build several of them in various places. I really like how you kind of wove the sticks on the side together. I have never seen anyone do it that way before and it seems way better than the usual method of just resting the sticks up against the ridge pole. I can't wait to try this! Thanks!

    Great quickie build Lilly, it just needs a pile of those leaves for padding! That concrete was a good find, useful stuff!
    When you pulled that blade out of it's sheath my old mountain man heart got all excited, I prefer having stouter rivets or screws in the handle (I'm very tough on tools), but that looks like something that would give many years of happy service.

    3rd way to open these nuts: Take one in every hand, fold your fingers and press the nuts against each other, with some control of force, they wil crack open. Only downthing is that at least one nut will stay behind, but with a stone in similar size it will work out.
    ;-)
    Nice primitive shelter so far, I watch out for the progress!

And cover stuff with leaves and boughs

      If we did that where I live in Australia, snakes & spiders would be the least of your concerns. The rabid greenies, especially the city based ones who never visit bush areas, would destroy you financially & on social media. Our local govt councils are over run with these green parasites, even if you own a large piece of land in rural areas, or a hobby farm not too far from the city fringe, it is illegal to fell trees even if they’re quite clearly dead, you cannot clear land of old logs or weeds lest you interrupt some insect ecosystem that some greenie deems to be part of the natural habitat.

    You have a lot of great ideas, and put a lot of hard work in your videos, I wanted to ask you a couple of things, that might be dependent on the area you are in. What do you do for spiders and biting things like ticks and chiggers ,if you have them,I am in Ohio USA, there we have 2 pesky spiders that can hurt pretty bad, especially if you don't treat the bites properly. Black Widows and Recluse . They love dead trees and limbs and leaves and especially bark, you can get them out most of the time by smoking everything, but that compromises your stealth . They usually only bite if you trap them against you , like rolling over in your sleep. But they are everywhere here. When I was in Arizona it was bark scorpions, every rock had 2 of them on it.and the palm trees were loaded. We also have chiggers, they like grassy areas and if you lay down where they are , you will have 1000 bites that itch severely for up to a few weeks by morning. It seems every area has some critters that make camping miserable , but if you know where to look and what to look for you can lessen the chances of a bad trip. Do you have any poisonous spiders ar chiggers, ticks, if so ,what do you do , if anything , to keep them off you.

  • @helidude3502
    @helidude3502 3 роки тому

    Like another commenter said, in Texas all that wood debris would most likely be full of some kind of critters year round. With the exception of the coldest days, snakes also. Not fast, but fast enough to get you.
    With all that Paul Bunyan action and noise, stealth is gone.
    While the materials are natural and don’t stand out as much as man made items like plywood or shopping carts, this shelter doesn’t blend with surroundings.
    But, an enjoyable video.
    Not to mention that you are actually doing something instead of sitting on your butt in the house like I am. 🤪

    I like how you are showing the abuse your knife can take. It proves that it is really tough. I really love mine. Are you going to show more videos of you making your new bug out shelter? Keep making these videos.
