Great video. Thanks for posting. I just got the system and used it for one round and can confirm for me anyway it tracked shots very well. I also almost forgot to bring the Link Pro but did bring it :). Note: the instructions say to properly setup for even the shortest puts and hit them to enable the system to better identify when puts are taken.
been using it for about 8 months and honestly, I could't do without it now. The insights are incredible, and while it is not the cheapest option, if you are serious about improving it's great value. I have't got the link, yet, but then the major reason is i don't mind having my phone in my pocket anyway. I can use the apple watch but it drains the battery haaaard and if the round is a slow one your apple watch will be dead before you finish. Great review mate, we will see those stats tumbling soon!
@@LetsPlayThru approach...stood out like a sore thumb although short game was poor as well. That’s what really prompted me to get new irons, and double down the work on the short game. Since then they have improved, now my putting is letting me down, probably because I’m now hitting more greens that is being highlighted. So I bought a putting mat and a putt out so I can work on that at home, since I lack the drive to go to a course to just work on putting. Overall it’s just made me aware of where I need to focus, and that changes all the time!
I just learned that I can get the sensors for free since my F8 has the sensor already in it. I just ordered mine and can’t wait to get them this weekend! Thanks for a great review!
Great review, very honest and informative. As the sensors are screwed into the grip of each club and then the clubs are out into the golf bag grip down, is there a chance the sensors could get damaged ? Secondly as you sometimes for example an 8 iron close to the green to chip and run, won't this effect the distance hit for that club ?
Great questions. I have now use them for about two months and I have not seen any damage. They seem to be pretty robust. Ask for the chip shots or any other non-standard shots, the AI is extremely intelligent and seems to not take those types of shots into account for overall averages.
I'm curious to know if you continued to use this after your review, I just ordered it today myself and interested to hear some longer term use thoughts on it.
I had it when it first became compatible with the I watch. Hated the idea of keeping phone in pocket. Then I pre ordered the hip clip, but it’s release was delayed for over a year it seemed. I thought it was a great concept, but just not dependable enough. Golf is hard enough as it is. It missed shots on the reg or would get confused if I brought two clubs when chipping. Would also sometimes miss when putts happened. So you’re thinking about it. Then you’ll think it didn’t work and change something but then it did actually record the shot lol. Maybe now a few years later they have it more dialed in...would also be nice if they could get something going with golf pride. Such a great concept. The stat tracking & smart caddie distances were awesome. Def not knocking it, but it def had some bugs back in 2018. Ps- it only has the distances perfect if you’ve set the tee and the pin perfect as well. And if you spray one onto another hole it will think ur playing a new hole and give you an eagle on the par four u were on. Worth noting that there’s a couple asses that work in cs at arccos. Giving that robotic answer to every question as if the product works flawlessly. Sorry you hate your job I guess, but I’m not the one who crapped in your cornflakes. After two years away from this product... being on the fence over whether I should get it again. I’m gonna keep my $. Customer service matters. Treat people well.
Good to know. It seems many of them have been resolved thankfully. Just played my first round with the link and i can report that it worked flawlessly.
@@LetsPlayThru I’ve been considering reinvesting in arccos setup thats built into the grips as they are more lowpro as such. Thanks for the vids ! I got a TM sim2 max just days after watching ur vid about said club.
I got the Arcos with my new Ping G425s. Haven’t actually got them yet as they were fitted for me and ordered. Great video! Will give me what I need to set them up. One thing you said that caught my eye. You mentioned the ball you use, wondering if you could do ball tests? You’ve tested pretty much all drivers and irons. Would be nice to see some data on the different balls for distance, spin rate, feel, etc. Just a suggestion. I’ve been using the Kirkland brand similar to Titleist Pro V. Also use the Calloway chrome soft. Kirklands are nice and cheap, and from I see are just as good as the Pro V.

I have set routine couple of practice swings before actual shot, does it interfere with tracking the shots. I mean how does it know if it’s practice swing or actual shot ??
Good review. I have these on my cobra irons and driver. I haven't used them yet because I need to get the extra sensors to complete the set. I like the idea of keeping stats. I imagine the average shot feature would take quite a few rounds to be useful for club selection, since it keeps in tops/chunks and the like, which are not useful numbers when it comes to club selection. imho I'm also looking forward to seeing how it fares with the range of conditions I play in. I mean, I play in temps that can range from 30-90 degrees during our short Wisconsin golf season.
Make a playlist with these stats updated and further reviews. Also with the caddie link you walk up to the pin location and hold the button for 2 secs to mark the flag location prior to putting. You don't need your phone to set the pin location. More videos please.
As far as the extra shots from your round: often, if you take a wedge and putter out of the bag and clank them around, it might add a shot. If you keep the sensors down, they won’t activate and record those clanks as shots.
Awesome goal. Wish you luck on it. It’s definitely given me some insights that I was in the dark about. It also makes me concentrate more on every shot because I want to increase my stats.
Nice video I think a couple of the irons I will be testing have it installed. One request if you could get the Mizuno JPX 921 Hot Metal irons to test I would like to see that. Enjoy your reviews on all the equipment that you do.
I’d add practicing chipping & putting, but gun to my head on your list....I think the strokes gained feature of this Arccos system along with the virtual caddie provides the best pound for pound value to improve a game.
Man that's awesome, I like all the info it provides. Would like to have this system, might have to look into it. Man too bad that ball that Wade hit didn't go in! Great shot to hit the pin though!
Looking forward to the on-course caddie review. Wait a month!?!? Pretty sure this is a good excuse/justification for getting 5 rounds in over the next week!
Is the data and analytics provided by Arccoss similar to that provided by the Garmin S60 watch? The product looks great but I don't want to duplicate. Is one better than the other in that catagory?
Arccos is a bit more thorough in the data & analytics provided, but if you have the Garmin already I don’t think you need to have both. Garmin just added the strokes gained feature, and they are continually improving their software.
@@LetsPlayThru so I think we are pretty similar in our game and schedule in playing (about 8 handicap and play 2-4 times a week) is this something you use every time you go out? Or just sometimes? Gabe, Nice information about the ARCCOS system. I remember I first saw it at PGA show several years ago, sorry, wasn't impressed then, still not. I use to use the Game Golf System and it was very good, and accurate. I switched to the Shot Scope system, since I was looking for a new GPS watch and it did the same thing as Game Golf and ARCCOS, but it didn't require wearing something else, and the bigger reason I'd never liked the ARCCOS, was that it requires a subscription. Still a nice review and as always enjoy your post. Keep up the good work.
Excellent review! One question. You mentioned that you had to use your phone instead of the clip and that that was probably a good thing because it was more accurate? What did you mean by that? I’m guessing you were referring to the fact that with your phone you would be able to move the flag to the proper spot, and not about the accuracy of the driver and irons into the green? No?
Thanks. Made this video a little while back so I don’t remember exactly why I said that. But to answer the question, it’s just as accurate with clip as with the phone. So whatever you prefer. I like the clip so it’s not in my pocket.
How are you able to have the line that follows your golf ball when you hit your driver? Is it an app that you had to pay for to show the direction and the height?
Do you still use this? Worth the subscription? I want all the stats. Have an Apple Watch Ultra, but the yearly subscription is having me hesitate. Considering shot scope but feel like Arccos does stats better but shot scope won’t miss shots because you have to tag it, but that’s the issue, you have to tag it…. Anyway. Still using? Worth it?
You said that you would do a follow-up in a month... nothing yet. I'd love to know how you're getting along with arccos now that you've had it a while. Thanks!
I'm disappointed by the sensors and Arccos customer service. I purchased new Ping woods in February and Arccos sent me sensors for the other clubs in my bag. I less than 5 months more than half of the sensors have failed. They have replaced them 2-3 at a time as they fail but they should have replaced the whole set of sensors rather than have me contact them every time one fails (BTW - another sensor failed in yesterday's round). Additionally, I would like the ability in the app to indicate the type of lie I'm hitting out of on each shot (uphill or downhill lie; below or above my feet; tree trouble; etc. Because the app treats every shot the same, the caddy feature becomes useless for any shot that isn't from a perfect or nearly perfect lie. Why are there two lines (one straight and one arced) for each shot taken? I would prefer a single line color coded based on distance of the shot compared to my recent history for the club. I will not be renewing my subscription unless there are improvements to the product and app.
That’s confusing that you had issues with putting that you blame arccos for lol if you are using sensors to track your swings you probably shouldn’t hit the ball back to your friends on the green. User error lol that being said it is amazing. I have arccos embedded grips and the link and highly recommend them for people can handle the truth. As in not for the guy saying he hit 330 yards but really 230 lol
Yes some of them I think we’re definitely user error (old habits like kicking back gimmes are hard to break)but others were a little bit more bizarre. It said I hit a six iron from the green to the Teebox for instance, And there’s no way I had a six iron on the green with me. Regardless it was very easy to make the adjustments so I am not bothered by a few discrepancies. All in all a fantastic system and the best that’s out there for what it does.
