Yeah the 1st 6 months are rough. But it does get better! After that time period you start to develop confidence in your skills, knowledge and interactions (especially with confrontational staff/patients). Don't let anyone make you feel dumb for asking questions. Questions are good, they are normal. Good nurses ask questions even 20years into their careers.
Hello, I've worked as a LVN for the past 5 years then graduated from RN program six months ago. The job that I worked for was assisted living setting and after I became an RN, I received a job offer at behavioral unit from hospital near where I live. I thought I enjoy psych but nurses with "Eat Their Young" attitude, it was my day off but I was crying right before the bedtime because I dont want to go to work. I'm scared, anxious, and afraid to work with these mean nurses...
Thank you for this break down, needed to hear this, I've been studying like crazy the past 3 months and I start a 6 month new grad residency program in the ED August 26th in Oregon. I passed my boards in March so it's been a minute since I've put in an iv or passed meds. I was wondering if you could do a video specifically on med passing safety and how to go about giving meds to Jane/John Doe's and attitudes and thought processes when passing/pushing meds in the ed/codes/traumas. Can you break down how you triple check your 5 rights before giving drugs, how/ what you label and when and how to do that in the ED. thanks a bunch! Your are a huge motivation for me :)
Really applicable advice! I just started up a nursing UA-cam channel too. Mostly interviews/patient advice/tips. I’d love some advice/support! Thanks for your channel :)
Great video like always! I have went on interviews and had horrible directors interviewing me. They expect you to know stuff you never heard before. And the worst people I have come across was the highest level like DNP nurses who forgot where they came from.
265 here. Ugh. I felt sick after. Can you do a video on how to stay organized when people are pulling you in different directions?. Also how to deal with preceptors that treat you like your stupid and roll their eyes when you ask questions?!
I took it last year June. I also took the whole test. 5 hours. Haha so I understand. I'm about to interview for an ER position at a Level II trauma center and I'm super excited and super terrified. Your videos have been very encouraging.
I start the Nursing program this fall and Im nervous.I have a medical assessment for a Per Diem transport and support position at a local hospital I need to get so I can attempt to work while going to school. There are a couple factors im concerned with
When graduating nursing school, if you know you want to go into the ER...do you think it’s too much for a newly graduated nurse? Should they have experience in medsurg or icu first or jump straight into it?
Thanks for the awesome advise! I always love your videos, especially the ER ones! I start my nurse residency program in the ER in 3 week! 😮😁 I'm SUPER excited and also super nervous to start...so I'm always look for new nurse advise!
Why do you think a lot of people are not going doing neonatal nursing/ nurse practitioner? When I finish nursing I want to become a neonatal nurse practitioner but there’s not a lot of videos on it.

I’m not sure! I think it really depends, because some years it has a lot, amd others it doesn’t
