My name is Karol Devaney and I'm a 29 year old Hill Farmer and Sheep Shearer from Sligo in the Northwest of Ireland. 💚
Every week I put up Vlogs of what I'm getting up to on the farm, plus the odd podcast with special guests. 🥰

I'd like to make a correction, the rabbit/hare is in fact the Easter bunny's son. He told me he does most of the work with the eggs and his auld fella gets most of the credit.
It's not just me. 😂😂😂
Thank you for this video . I took care of sheep for 30years.I love these animals .
From the south of Morocco. Wish you all the best .
Your Mum's got a good sense of humor!
That wee leveret, my heart. Hares are great, gorgeous creatures.
Well, that's €7529 in your mum's "Getting Karol out the house" kitty ;-) hope it was a good price for them. And dad's camera work wasn't too bad.
😂
Great to be young and fit, I used to be able to catch them like that.
Nice too see sheep on green pasture 👍 hir in Norway where I live we still got about 80 cm off snow 🥶🐏🐂🇳🇴
Wow 😅
Great video as always. How's your sister Joanne doing. Please tell her to post again we miss her.. thanks for sharing with us
I'll tell her Rachel 😁
Nice to see the young lad bidding with his dad 👍
It was so nice to see your Mum.
Thank you for showing us Mart Day!
You're welcome Rita 😁
That was a good rattle for those boys lad, paid for their keep, nice to get a few bob this time of the year. Regards from the hills of Wicklow.
Aye good to get it surely Andy! Cheers mate! A good sheep county too!
Great video and your explanations are very helpful to us watching.
Cheers Ron, glad you like the videos!
Hope you are happy with the price at market.👍👍
Good to see Heather Ann and your Mom. Mom was not so subtle about your accommodations.😂
😂😂
Great stuff Karl, really enjoying your videos.
Glad you like them!
All looking good mate 👏👏 what’s the reason for running them as rams rather than weathers?
They grow a bit faster we find
@@EweTubeIreland that’s fair enough. Same money for rams and weathers?
Little leveret hare. A rear sight down my part of the country with all the buzzards. You've some great pairs been born
Cheers Shane
For those of us that are not familiar with your livestock auctions, could you explain the process a little.
When you give a weight in kilograms and then a Euro price is that the sale price per animal in that group? Or does that establish a Euro price per kilogram for that group and the bidder then pays an exact price by weight?
Are the bidders buying the entire group or lot of animals auctioned at once? Or does the bidding of establish what we call a choice price and then the winning bidder may take as many animals as he wants from the group at that price?
Nice video. Hi to Heather Anne.
Certainly, the lambs are weighed when they step foot in the mart and the price is per lamb for a bunch of lambs, you can have the bunches as big or as small as you want, we sold ours as a bunch of 34 heavier lambs and 33 lighter lambs. 😁
On the comment you made about having more horned lambs than cheviots. A sheep will go to a ram of the same breed as itself if it has a choice. If not they will go to one the same face colour as itself. So if you had a mayo and 10 cheviot rams out the mayo will get the most of the action.
Interesting Stephen!
I think sheep farmers need to learn the art of how to laso like the American cowboys in the day caught calves. It would save on injuries on bringing down a sheep lambing for intervention. 😂😂😂. God bless
It doesn't work the same, we of course have tried, just about everything.
Roping requires a horse and you have to be in the saddle. You need the height and you need the use of the saddle horn to take the shock when the lasso goes tight or even a sheep or a calf will pull you right out of the saddle.
Could do a video trying it 😂
Love the video
Thank you 🥰
"Thank you." They would tell you themselves but they're so tired. The baby bunny made me more than a bit disappointed in humans. Are we allowed to ship bunnies across the Atlantic Ocean?
Lol not sure
The rabbit would make a nice rabbit pie Karl
One day! I am thinking a bit of rabbit farming could supplement the food bills.
Do you use a mic? Great sound quality
Should have just kept watching I see you do, what type?
Rode wireless go 2 😁
I seen u a couple of days ago we were giving ue hay we were in a blue Toyota
Nice! Local are you? 😁
@@EweTubeIreland yes we are
It a young hare 😂
Bye the way, years ago I let five Suffolk hogget rams and one Cheviot out with 240 cheviots more than half had at least one white lamb we end ended up with 80 cheviot ewe lambs and 110 speckled faces in fairness there was a lot more white ewe lambs than rams and more speckled rams than ewes but I learned a lesson and I would rather go and buy a ram than throw out a spare just to be sure since then ( the speckled ewe lambs were worth twice the cheviot ewe lambs at the time).
That's interesting Andy! The Cheviot buck was busy. 😂😂
Wow so cute
Cheers 😁
Great video Karl the weather doesn’t look to bad at home hopefully it will be good am home for three weeks in June in lovely co Derry hi you done alright with the lambs good stuff 👌👌
Enjoy it Gary!
That was a leveret👍
Farming only business where you work hard to produce your product then ask someone what will you pay me for it. Guess we could refuse to sell unless we were making a good profit.
Will Joanne ever be coming back to making UA-cam videos
She's in final year of college at the moment so not now anyways!
Welcome down to God's country lad! You'll have to call over the road for tea 😂
You not have hares up on the mountain or is there too much competition for grass ?!!😉🤣
I thought it was just the easter bunny and he got lost on his way home?? Cheers lad, ill be over soon to give them boys a haircut anyways. 😁✂️
We're u happy with the money. Had they much ration eat? Jesus u have great dogs
Yeah happy with those prices, it helped to make up for some bad ones earlier in the year. A few of the smaller ones were fed for a month but very little overall, just dear rented land. 😂
Bunnies are going extinct
It's a young hare not rabbit
You shouldn't have picked him up his mammy might not be able to find him now and if she does she might reject him with your scent on him
Oh a hare, interesting!
I'll know that for again, although it had walked into our crush when all the sheep were in there so it almost certainly would have been trampled if I hadn't picked it up.
That said I'll be conscious about picking them up in future. 😁
The scent stuff has been disproven in recent years, that actually is irrelevant, especially at that age.
