ABOUT ME
I’m 33 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city s a Police Officer and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 1200 breeding ewes.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on UA-cam and decided I could have a go and now here we are!
Since starting The Sheep Game I have met Lizzy and had two incredible boys Jock and Angus. You will see them all on this channel!

I'm guessing the land owner gets more from ESG and carbon credits from leaving the ground bare so losing your tenancy is a big risk in this crazy upside down world where meat is bad and overgrown weedy grassland is good.

Feeding good quality and affordable protein to the population of the world is how we get people out of poor health and poverty.

Quality ewes plus the quality rams you guys purchased is shaping up to be a monumental shift if the way you guys are playing the sheep game. Fingers crossed a farm comes available and you guys are able to get it at a decent price.

When my family looks at photos of our son Teddy when he was small, nearly every one sports some evidence of a mishap. Head bumps, nose bumps, a scratch from my rose bushes, and all manner of childhood clumsiness. He’s 23 now - and always laughs as his photos sporting lumps and bumps. Part of being an active child!

I am so glad you're getting that bump looked at. When I was two I fell, or was pushed, and had two black eyes. As an adult I was told it was that early brake that made me ultimately need surgery to take the bone in my nose out. I had no drainage from my left sinus. I had sinus infections one after the other for over a year.
Tremendous looking ewes I’m sure they will do extremely well for you and Lizzy you two are really steaming ahead I can see you both with your own farm sooner than later. You both deserve it, here’s to next spring and many beautiful new lambs I can’t wait 😊
Lizzy bought land. I wish I could. Point you in the direction of the correct video it’s sometime late spring, I could be (probably are) wrong but if you listen carefully you’ll hear Cammy say something to her in this video that these are for her block of land. Maybe sitting in the truck? Edit for lousy grammar lol

That farmer's stock is in amazing condition you could see just how well they all looked, definitely a great buy there guys. I was a shepherdess for 30-plus years I do miss my sheep.

It must be heartbreaking for tenant farmers having the farm taken back when they have built up a fine flock and then having to sell it off.

It has taken us 16 years to get uniformity (peas in a pod) in our herd of goats. We truly started from scratch(no AI or flushing just natural breeding) It's like we know the secret recipe now. I am so happy that you and Lizzie see the value in these sheep .You are miles ahead of the game. You are courageous for taking this huge step forward.@@TheSheepGame
It’s quite funny seeing sheep with tails, here in Australia you won’t see that as the weather and flies don’t allow it.
So lambs get docked but more often elastrator rings are used to cut the circulation and the tail falls off same as the testicles.
I'm no expert when it comes to sheep Cammy but, they looked really good to my untrained eye. Well done to you and Lizzie, great investment for you both.
For those wondering about the Scots word Blethering, it means talking or having a wee chat (talking a load of rubbish/chewing the fat really😂) We would call a child (or even a happy baby) that won't shut up a Wee Blether.

My three boys are 29, 27 & 26yrs old now, and my hubby and I have just become grandparents to a beautiful little granddaughter a week ago. so 1 of each now, we're over the moon ♥️💙🩵🩵
How exciting!! I bet they were a handful! We’d love a wee girl but it seems to be all boys in my family 😅
At times they were hard work having 3 under 3, but they are now men and we are so proud of them all. They really are a credit to us. Although because I was the only daughter with 4 brothers, so it was hard at times. But we are a very close family and always ready to help each other. As long as you teach them respect for others it covers everything, respect their beliefs, respect their friends, respect their property and their boundaries. We are so proud of all they have become 💙💙💙

Of course ewes aren’t just for one year, they’re an investment for at least 5. I had a ewe that delivered twins every year for 22years! And her ram partner was 27 years old! They were Llanwenogs….

I’m so glad you get to buy what you want. Nice young couple and you get to pay what you need. You guys worked hard to get it but I got an ideal. I bought about 20 years ago and they were called mu and that’s the ear and the inside you know right over the ear and they dried them and my dogs loved him. I bought everything they had that I couldn’t find it no more and the horns on those sheep and their hooves them sell for big money for dogs to chew on big money I buy yellow herbs from the pig pig seers lambs are the same thing, but they call a muffs. Good idea check that out you gotta sell something for the dogs. It would be megs dog stuff.
