Beautiful power scaling between Juggernaut, Gladiator and Phoenix. Very few shows get it right or do it in a plausible manner. With X-Men 97’ being a perfect continuation and with almost all DC animated films being superior to the DCEU, I really think live-action should be exclusively handled by the teams doing the animated shows and movies.
I don't know if you noticed but Gambit was the only one in this episode beside Rouge and Gladiator who was able to hurt Juggernaut. When the X men broke into Cassidy's castle Gambit throw an explosive card at the door which knock the Juggernaut on the floor. This will also explain why Gambit wasn't fighting the Juggernaut in his debut episode in season 1 as he is the one of the few who can hurt him and they wanted to show Juggernaut as a powerful enemy. I wouldn't underestimate him

What made the original series so good, aside from the voice acting and themes, were the pacing. They dedicated multipart episode lengths to important storys like the phoenix, dark phoenix, creation of the sentinels, the phalanx, beyond good and evil, these stories didn't just rush into them, they were built up before they became the focus fully. Feels like the shows reboot doesn't understand how to be patient in its story beats.
