I love old rail yards and how they were operating in the days past. We used to have one here in Manchester, NH but now it's the site of a outdoor baseball stadium. Our Historical Society and Museum has many photos from the past. I love taking the Amtrak from Boston, Massachusetts to Pennsylvania. The views are amazing. Great videos JP.
I enjoyed it very much. Little bit of a bummer at the end, but you have to respect private property. Though most old ROW is still not sold to the public, so not sure how it became private. I loved and was fascinated by the fallen tree that had a branch grow so high vertically. I’ve never seen that before. Question 🙋♂️ what is the range & top speed of your bike 🚴? It looks like the ultimate way to travel on these rail trails. Would you mind sharing the approximate cost? Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful sites with us.
@@cruikshank the particular bike I was riding can go upto 30mph and range is between 40-60 miles. I provided links in description for the bikes. Thanks for watching.
4 years ago my nephew cut a huge limb off a box elder tree hauled it to North side of property dumped it on a pile of brush . It has rooted to ground now it's growing up its now a tree. Wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it.
I agree JP, that is the most bizarre thing I ever seen, a tree growing up out of a dead tree. In a very strange way, the skookle-Newkle trail is amazing JP 👍👍👍👍 beautiful scenery
Great video and trail ride. At 18:04 you forget to yell, "TTTTTIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEERREERRR!!!!!!!!!!!" LOLOLOL Rail trails are excellent and allow the goodies you two are finding is fantastic.
I am just amazed you got RJ to ride a bike. All kidding aside, the thing that amazes me about railroads is what they did to keep a grade, or no so much of a grade cutting and blowing there way threw rocks, trees, and over rivers and gorges.
19:46 : the larger base would have supported a signal bridge which spanned the track. The smaller base was the straight signal mast that replaced the signal bridge .
A wonderful ride on an old rail trail. Thanks for giving us a glimpse. It was beautiful! Hope they complete that path in the near future. I've been hiking in sections the NCR Trail. It also has sections where all you can hear is the babbling brook next to it or nothing but the birds. And some of the rock cuts are equally beautiful. It also has the distinction of President Lincoln traveling on it to Gettysburg in 1863 and later his funeral train.
IF RJ WOULD HAVE BROKE HIS FOOT KICKING THAT TREE HE WOULD HAVE SAID JP TOLD ME TO TRY IT..😂😂😂 IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL OUT THERE..I LOVE LOOKING UP AT THE TREE'S LIKE THAT.. STAY SAFE OUT THERE 💙💙
The doggies! So cute! It’s gorgeous out there. I’m loving those rock formations. That tree growing out of another tree is fascinating. I haven’t seen anything like it either. The Naked Gun!! 🤣🤣🤣 Yes to the rail trails. I enjoy them! See so much of nature and little things and finds on the way.
Great video !! Very pretty area and yes please come back to this Railway Station I would love to see around it !! Awesome I have never came across a tree like that in my life it is the oddest thing !! Those pictures are AMAZING !! You really should try sell prints of theses pictures they a beautiful !! This was a AWESOME video I loved it !! 👍👍
All your videos are great and educational and historical and lots to learn about them I used to live back east I have family that live in honesdale pa all your videos are fun your favorite Betsy zentgraph ok from Oregon
Jay, Those electric bike really let you cover a lot of territory Beautiful area with really informative history signs. What more could we want? Thanks so much for this vlog. Rik
Hey Jay, I love it when you call moss Natures Carpet it's so sweet and spot on how you have described it. Jay, you will be amazed to know that Leslie Nielsen my best friends Uncle as her nan was related to him. She was really upset to hear about his passing and wanted to meet him one day. He was one of the best comedians out there as well as John Candy who was the best and I have the last autograph of Johns and it's here on my desk as I write this comment to you. Thank you for showing us more history of your awesome country.
Wonderful ride , and . loved seeing the puppies🐶 Gorgeous path thru the rockcut ..This ride had a little bit of everything ,...even a toy and a 'ghost" train ..Beautiful photo montage ..Great ride , guys ... thank you for sharing the fun !
What a beautiful ride! Love your rail trail videos! What you find is so interesting and i love how you explain and teach us about the train artifacts! I love that you found a toy tiger on an abandoned train line!! That made it official!😂 Thank you for taking me along, enjoyed tremendously!! Keep up the great work!!
Beautiful rail trail. My favorite time of year, before the cold and snow. I don't know if I'm the only one, but this time of year has a distinct smell, like the other 3 seasons. Thanks Jay (RJ too) for bringing us along 👍🤙
Wow JP, I really enjoyed this ride! It's such a beautiful and peaceful area. The toy tiger was such a great find and the tree that is growing out of the fallen tree is amazing! You know, it almost looks like it was the only living branch extending from that down tree and it grew into a tree itself. You guys sure have a lot of fun, lol Timberrrrrr! I think the rock cuts are incredible and your photos are gorgeous as usual! Your rail trail videos like this always inspire me to go exploring, love them and thank you!
there is A nice 3 truss bridge short drive from my house and nice tunnel great place to rail fan but its hard to get train on the bridge but at least the tunnel is on the man line and sees lots of trains
@16:00, I believe they call structures like that "Spring Heads," I saw a more elaborate one in somebody else's UA-cam video also on the East Coast some place. They probably pre date Civic Water systems.
Absolutely beautiful ride, looks very enjoyable. That tree growing out of the felled tree was cool. Nature always seems to impress. And becareful, lol. But unfortunately falls are gonna happen from time to time. I have found as long as I don't get hurt, it's keeps me limber 🤷♂️ gets you to stretch in ways we wouldn't normally
I enjoy your rail trail rides. The scenery is awesome. The tree growing out of the downed tree was really cool. The spring has me curious. I would think there would have been a house near there at some point for someone to have protected the spring. Or, before the the railroad went through maybe it was a horse/walking road. Thanks for taking us along.
Yes I love the rail trail videos, keep them coming!!!! I was here 3 years ago. I biked a lot near Allentown on my E Bike, them came here and couldn't make it to the end because my battery died. (I have a bad hip, so I couldn't pedal the rest of the way) I hope to get back there this spring. PS: The Appalachian trail comes down the mountain, crosses this Rail Trail, goes down those steps and the rail yard, then goes back up Hawk mountain on the other side.
I love the rail trail videos…especially when you find neat things like the tree growing out of the downed tree and the little spring. All things nature are the BEST! Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving! 🦃
I wasn't a big fan of the E-bikes when you first introduced them but, I think that they are beneficial for the long rail trail videos. Thanks for sharing.
Love the rail trail videos! The E Bikes are most impressive! The scenery is awesome and as always I greatly appreciate your efforts. RJ has a great channel as well. Keep them coming Jay! Love your channel the best! Oh yeah your the beast master for splitting that rotten tree! 😆
I've heard that the landowner not allowing the trail to follow the old rail bed is a real prick. The construction contract to connect the trail to Auburn has been awarded. Hopefully construction will start in 2023.
Awesome video JP! Awesome rail trail! Beautiful bridges and rock cuts! The E bikes sure have made for some great adventure's! It will be even a greater place when they get the 2nd bridge finished! Thanks for bringing us along for the adventure!
You and RJ sure do live in God's country. Nothing even close to it here. I can’t choose favorites J. If you force my hand, the whole trail. I’m like a kid in the world's biggest toy store. My eyes have glazed over and everything is too cool fo school. Are there any campsites J or is it just a daytime thing. I love the videos! Please do more these!

Did you enjoy the ride on the former PRR? Looking forward to hearing what your favorite areas were.

That was hilarious JP set a bottle of green tea on the bench, then knocked it off🤣🤣
It ruined the view 😁
Yes more rail trails! 👍

I'm always trying to educate myself and glad I can share some things along the way. The toy tiger was so random, but was so funny to see lol.

I love the rail trail videos. NE Pennsylvania is beautiful and I love seeing the country that is not accessed by road
Thanks Jeff
Any update on the trail in runners where they fixed the brige? Great video
What beautiful scenery! Thank you for sharing another great adventure with us. Pennsylvania has some really nice places to see.

Great adventure we used to go to area some summers when I was a child memories thanks JP and RJ these are awesome videos don't stop thanks
Look like awesome place to ride a bike 🐕🚲👍
It definitely is
That was a beautiful journey.
Love the rail trail. Great video JP. Oh and I have seen a brand new tree form from a dead tree before. It goes to show you anything is possible.
I'm not sure how common that is for trees to do that, but it was my first time seeing it.
I wasn't a big fan of the E-bikes when you first introduced them but, I think that they are beneficial for the long rail trail videos. Thanks for sharing.

Super great video. Those E-bikes are amazing. I'd need training wheels to keep my balance now a days . Thank you JP for another great adventure.

The schuylkill River starts in Frackville .Its runs through Saint Clair also.
I used to work in Schuylkill county and used to travel through all those towns.
You have the coolest places to explore... ✌

No camping along this particular trail, but most likely there is along the Appalachian which meets with this one by the rail yard.
Btw. That’s berks county, it crosses over into Schuylkill around the 1.5 mile mark.
Beautiful. 😃 😊
Thank you! 😊💙

Walking along quiet trails and old RR beds is a great way to make new discoveries from the past.
Thanks again for another outstanding video.

Some trails are longer than others and go in different directions. I'm sure using a combination of trails you can cover much of the state.

Not on this trip

Where did they push the snow in those narrow rock cuts?
Does the rail-trail bridge shake/vibrate when trains pass below?
Rj maybe it was Jay's size, remember ur thiner than Jay. 😀👍🤣😁
What are your e bikes ? What is the range on the battery ?
