This was a great song from a bit later, but School's Out is amazing, He's Back, I'm 18, No More Mr Nice Guy, Billion Dollar Babies, Feed My Frankenstein, and Bed of Nails were other favorites. Great reaction.
Billion Dollar Babies, School's Out, Elected, No More Mister Nice Guy, Welcome to My Nightmare, Killer, Under My Wheels, Be My Lover, and so many more. In fact, I'd recommend whole albums, and not just the title tracks, many of which I've mentioned above. Albums to check out: Billion Dollar Babies, Killer, Alice Cooper Goes to Hell, Welcome to My Nightmare, just for starters.
The entire 1987 Raise Your Fist and Yell album is great with Kane Roberts on guitar - who later did some of his own solo work (Twisted, Rock Doll). Desmond Child wrote this song as he did many of the hits of this time from Aerosmith, Kiss, Bon Jovi, etc.
@@karlsmith2570 that doesnt always make you deeply religious. I was deeply religious until I lived with my priest grandfather for 6 years while my parents are in prison. I had the pleasure of Meeting Alice Cooper at a charity golf tournament, the only disappointment was that he wasn't in full stage makeup, but other than that he couldn't have been nicer, he took his time talking to everyone making sure everyone got an autograph, photo, whatever they wanted, he told stories of working with Meatloaf, he joked around with everyone, he wound up staying over an hour longer then was planned just to meet everyone and spend time with them.
Great reaction, Sam and Phil! One of the original 'shock rock' performers. However they had a great sound also! I saw them live a couple times in the 70s when i was younger. They put on a great show, inluding snakes, gallows, baby dolls, etc.
I just saw him last year on tour he still puts on a great show. No more.Mir nice guy is another great one. His lead guitarist these days is a woman named Nita Strauss, she can shred.

In the early years, 1968-74, the entire original band was known as "Alice Cooper", and was comprised of Alice, Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway, Neal Smith and the late Glen Buxton. They all contributed to the songwriting and were an incredible band. If you want to hear the true, original Alice Cooper Band sound, please check out their early songs 1968 though 1974. @@danniellesloane You may be correct, I don't know. But he and his former bandmates are still on good terms and they still perform with him occasionally, plus they've also appeared on some of is solo recordings.
Alice Cooper has sold over 50 million records and inducted in the R&R HOF. As a teenager when bursting into the music scene, I loved the band's no-holds barred, in-your-face hard-rock sound and amazing guitar riffs. Also saw Alice live multiple times and his shows are awesome. In addition to being known as the king of shock-rock, his musicality and clever lyrics are amazing...listen to the puns in Schools Out and so many other songs. And in real life, Alice Cooper (Vincent Furnier) is a truly nice guy as opposed to his stage persona.
This is my favorite Alice Cooper song; School's Out is also great, but there's just something about the vibe in this one puts it over the top for me. Alice Cooper (Vincent Damon Furnier), if you can believe it, actually became a Christian. That's one thing I like about him and somewhere buried within hundreds of Audible audiobooks, I have one where he basically chronicles his life. I can't think of the name of the book off the top of my head, but there are videos of him speaking about his leaving alcohol and drugs behind on different platforms as well as interviews, etc. The guy has certainly led an interesting life; in his song "No More Mr. Nice Guy" part of the lyrics include him going to church incognito, but the preacher recognized him and punched him in the face - certainly a character!!
'"I'm 18," -- "School's Out" --- "No More Mr. Nice Guy" --- also did a colab with GNR on their "Use Your Illusions" albums called "The Garden" --- Fun Fact my Aunt had a local bar in the OKC area in the 70s and had connections with radio DJs - so she had some after parties a couple of times -- She's passed away since, but I still have a ring of his and a huge poster sized autograph saying "Love Ya to the end of death - Alice Cooper. "Love it to Death" was a name of one of their albums. (Edit) He said, when my aunt asked about the make-up - Alice told her that one of the gf's of a band member was messing around and put some make up on him -and they suddenly had to go on stage and couldn't get it off in time - and the reaction from the crowd was a bit taken back - but enough to shock them - so that's how the make up was adopted by Alice Cooper.
He was known as a shock rocker, but this guy could REALLY sing!!! You have to listen to "You And Me." It's an amazing ballad from 1977. He really has a soft voice when he does a ballad. Make sure it's the FULL 5:00+ version, like a lyric video. 💯
At 76 years old, Alice is still playing live shows and is as good as ever! His current guitarist is Nita Strauss, there is a live version of this song with her doing a guitar intro that is absolutely amazing!
I tried to find you guys an awesome live video, I choose this. 'Alice Cooper The Ballad of Dwight Fry 8/12/18 LA Greek Theater'. The two main gals are his daughter and his wife btw. Also the amazing Nita Strauss on guitar. What I remember most of all from the last time I saw him live was his drummer. Them sticks we're flying, it was awesome. Sad I can't find video of that, oh well... Cheers.
NO MORE MR. NICE GUY. That's the next one you need to listen to. If you want to dive in another artist, Depeche Mode Blasphemous Rumors is a good one. He is 76 now.
Alice Cooper began in 1964, but his/their first big hit "I'm Eighteen" was released in 1970. He/they had many hits in that decade and some in the early 80s. Poison was a comeback w/ a few more smaller hits since then. Saw him live w/ Iron Maiden when Bruce was doing his own thing (sometime in the 1993-99 period).
Not his best song, but one of the most popular because it's a part of every stripper's routine, lol. I might have gone with "Welcome to my Nightmare", 'Generation Landslide", "Feed My Frankenstein", etc.
Alice Cooper was the next door neighbor of the great Groucho Marx. Groucho suffered from insomnia and he would regularly call Alice to come over, watch television, hang and when Groucho would finally fall asleep Alice would then go home. Alice invited Groucho and a few friends (including George Burns) to see one of his concerts. Groucho and his friends all agreed that Alice was performing a form of modern day vaudeville, something they could all relate to. Alice had a cool restaurant in Phoenix, AZ, across from the basketball area, called Cooperstown. I don't think it survived much longer after the COVID lockdown.
Yes. Alice was a forerunner to hair metal, along with Kiss and was out of site until he recorded this with the Help of O=Jon Bon Jovi, who co-wrote this song. His true heyday was early to mid 80s. Classic rock songs. School's Out, I'm Eighteen, Only Women Bleed and I Never Cry are good places to start.
Jon Bon Jovi had zero input into this song, it was written by Alice, Desmond Child and John McCurry. The only link is that Desmond Child co-wrote some of Bon Jovi's songs. There's another song on the Poison album, House Of Fire, which Bon Jovi actually recorded a demo of, but decided against using it. Another link is the bassist was Hugh McDonald, who is now the bassist in Bon Jovi, but at the time was a session musician.
Alice Cooper was the band name at first (beginning in 69 ir so). Then about 1975, the band split up (on good terms) and Alice became the guy and released successful solo albums. Welcome to my Nightmare and From the Inside are probably my favorites from that era. If you do a Halloween Playlist this year, Alice is a must have. Try the song Feed My Frankenstein for another sexy late era, Halloween themed song
Alice is the father of shock rock. Schools Out, Billion Dollar Baby, I'm 18, No More Mr Nice Guy, Only Women Bleed, and Elected are just a few more great songs in his long discography.
I just seen Alice Cooper & Rob Zombie Together in concert about 3 weeks ago. One hell of a show. I'm 53 and I'll say that was the best thing I have ever seen.
Someone left this on my answering machine once, and because I liked the guy I couldn't enjoy the song for a very long time. But I wore Poison, by christian Dior at the time.. maybe it was that? lol.. probably not :) Then.. I went and said I"m so sorry.. to another man that i knew I had been mean to, very young. Early 20's.. Trying to break up.. it got ugly. So, I"m an adult.. in my 40's, trying to clear up the wreckage of the past.. when the man didn't forgive me, and left me this song lol Cheese Louise yes, I was VERY TOXIC as a young woman. Player, for sure.. even though I really did just want someone who loved me, for me. Rescue Me.. by Madonna? I recommend that one.. she says some important things in that song. :) but I DO love the Poison song now. Alice Cooper, how could I not.
Finally. It was the name of the original band but he took over the moniker. There is a ton of great stuff. The hits and a ton of deeper cuts. You should check out some of the longer darker stuff. The actual meaning of songs are not always what they may seem on the surface. Dead Babies is the prime example. The Ballard Of Dwight Fry is a real cool one. Please keep the Coop coming. He always surrounds himself with great musicians, there’s a bunch of live stuff out there. He has hard rock, garage rock, ballads. He’s in a side project called The Hollywood Vampires that has Joe Perry of Aerosmith and Johnny Depp, yes the actor in it. Named after a drinking club where he and other musicians would get together and drink all night to see who was still standing at the end. People like Keith Moon, Harry Nillson and Mickey Dolenze of The Monkeed. He has a funny story about meeting Elvis Presley you should find.
Two big Alice Cooper hits were "Schools Out" (as you mentioned) and "I'm Eighteen". I believe he started out in the late 1960s. He was definitely popular in the early 1970s. "Schools Out" I believe became popular because it's such a good feeling when that happens when you're a kid. I remember loving that feeling. The song super charged the feeling. It's a beautiful thing. :-) 0-/ b_bhp
Saw him a few years back opening for Crue. If you didn't t know how old he was you'd think he was much younger. He was the same as when I was in high school. awesome.
Alice is nothing like his persona. He's intelligent, articulate and a gentleman. He syndicated a rock show on radio for years and oh my God, it was good...he would tell stories about his decades long career and not hold anything back, his musical knowledge was second to none, he was very down to earth, funny, humble and he used to request obscure songs from the bands everyone knew. It was gold! Oh that reaction was funny...speaking of poison...check your food tonight Phil lol.
Alice is the nicest man in Rock. A deep faith Christian. Volunteers in Arizona and plays golf everyday. I love Alice. Watch one of his interviews. He is a man of such deep Faith. I saw him front row before Covid in North Carolina. He puts on an amazing act. Great performer.
Loved this song when it came out, I was a 13 year old girl in 1987, and this just got me straight away, it just felt so theatrical and bombastic, I loved it, still do. My parents hated it!!
I Just saw Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie with Ministry and Filter Sept 1st. it was a good show but nothing compared to seeing Alice and Rob Zombie on Halloween with the whole crowd in costume it was one of the best times, it was at a smaller venue of only 2500 seats so there wasn't a bad seat and I got to meet him again after the show, as always he was as nice as anyone could be.
Good point about songs with titles that are not mentioned in the lyrics and/or chorus. When I encounter those songs, I put whatever repeated line could be or pass for the title in parentheses beside the official title for distinction and clarity. This is useful when first hearing a new album and the official title does not ring any bells for "that one song that sounded really good" but never says the title (outside of perhaps once in a verse lyric).
Just saw Cooper 10 days ago. I’ve only missed him in concert once since mid 70s. My pal Nita Strauss does a solo before this song. Epic! Check out Brutal Planet. It’s hard rock, but shows his Christianity beautifully.
Great for a fist intro. Alice covers many decades and the sounds change through the years. But Alice is Coopet. I like listening to his golfing stories more than anything else these days. He is a man in full living his best life.
Great stuff ! .. I really liked some of Alice's early and mid 70s songs, and was surprised when he came out with this one to resurrect his career .. But it was a great comeback song for sure !
Saw them back in the 70s ! Also first time heard a record was ( love it to death ) was on acid ! also back in early 70s ! always good ! this one is not from the 70s, it s alot more recent ! great song ! Commercial hit ! 😎
Oh believe me I saw him in concert center stage he had a snake wrapped around his body and dragging it's tail along the stage maybe 20ft. Long awesome rock and roll show I was truly privileged to see ALICE COOPER in concert
Alice just happens to he one of the nicest people in the world as well. I've met him and his wife three times here in the Phoenix area. Twice on car lots where he and his wife were filming commercials. Great in concert today as well as when he began. Please consider No More Mr. Nice Guy or Feed my Frankenstein next or the live version of Go to Hell. Snakebite is a song live where he uses his snake.
Love to see you enter the world of Alice Cooper, a song with a message but sexy 80's vibes! Great to see your love for animals, look forward to more hits!!!
Alice Copper you saved my life do to my job and personal life i had to hear that song from the movie frozen [let it go ] several times a day for 2 years. To keep from losing my mind I started to pretend it was sung by Alice Cooper. Now I'd like to hear a cover by Alice Cooper. If your out there Alice Copper please cover that song from Frozen❤
AC is a deep rabbit hole of hits. Every album is unique and filled with gems that never got radio time. I would compare it to exploring the Beatles discography, You will be amazed at the range of genres, and the amount of talent he puts together for tour. I would love to see someone do a reaction (in order) of the songs on his album "From the inside". From the Inside is the eleventh studio album by Alice Cooper, released in 1978. It is a concept album about Cooper's stay in a New York sanitarium due to his alcoholism. Each of the characters in the songs were based on actual people Cooper met in the sanitarium.
Alice Cooper released two albums of this 80's style - 'Trash' in 1989 (Poison is from that album) and 'Hey Stoopid' in 1991. Two of my favourite albums from him. Perhaps check out the title track from 'Hey Stoopid'.
This song, on the surface, is about a toxic relationship, but it is also a metaphor for addiction! Alice Cooper used to be an alcoholic before he became a born again Christian many years ago. His wife stuck with him through the difficult years of addiction & rehab, and they are still together almost 50 years later! 💜

Really great to watch live seen him with scorpions back in 1996 in Las Vegas 🤘😎🤘
Billion Dollar Babies ( 73) 🔥 with Donovan !!
This is a must
A great song, but his earlier stuff is even better, imo. My top 3 Alice Cooper albums: Welcome to My Nightmare, From the Inside, Love It To Death.
School's Out is by far the most famous song, and it's great!
Alice Cooper was originally a band, but became the stage name of one solo artist (real name Vince Furnier) who is main vocalist here.
Generation Landslide is one of my favorites love the Coop
Just saw Cooper 10 days ago. I’ve only missed him in concert once since mid 70s. My pal Nita Strauss does a solo before this song. Epic! Check out Brutal Planet. It’s hard rock, but shows his Christianity beautifully.
I believe Alice Cooper was a teacher as well as holding 2 doctorates.
Great for a fist intro. Alice covers many decades and the sounds change through the years. But Alice is Coopet. I like listening to his golfing stories more than anything else these days. He is a man in full living his best life.
House Of Fire by Alice Cooper! 😎🔥🤘🎸
Great stuff ! .. I really liked some of Alice's early and mid 70s songs, and was surprised when he came out with this one to resurrect his career .. But it was a great comeback song for sure !
One of my favorite songs!!!!
I vaguely, empathize vaguely remember a rumour of the times was Mr Roger’s was Alice Coopers dad. lol. Ohh the tabloids were something else back then.
Feed My Frankenstein by Alice Cooper! 😎🔥🤘🎸
Alice Cooper - *Teenage Frankenstein m* PLEASE!
Alice Cooper is by far one the best if not the best Entertainer in the 80s his shows were amazing
Saw them back in the 70s ! Also first time heard a record was ( love it to death ) was on acid ! also back in early 70s ! always good ! this one is not from the 70s, it s alot more recent ! great song ! Commercial hit ! 😎
Great Song and Video 👍😎
Started as the band name, later adopted by the lead singer as his own name as a solo artist
Oh believe me I saw him in concert center stage he had a snake wrapped around his body and dragging it's tail along the stage maybe 20ft. Long awesome rock and roll show I was truly privileged to see ALICE COOPER in concert
A good song
Hey Stoopid by Alice Cooper! 😎🔥🤘🎸
“Feed my Frankenstein is my favorite song out of his new stuff.
Huge hit when I was in high school in the 80's...
Alice cooper is actually older than ozzy
LOVE THIS SONG!!! :) Thanks, Ya'll!! Have a HAPPY MONDAY!!!
This song is so iconic love it 🙏😁
Alice Cooper was a band but in the mid 1970s Alice Cooper became a solo effort
The Godfather of Shock Rock .The members of KISS got the idea of their make up from Alice Cooper in the early 70's "Im eighteen" "House of Fire"
Love to see you enter the world of Alice Cooper, a song with a message but sexy 80's vibes! Great to see your love for animals, look forward to more hits!!!
Loved him in my teens/early 20s. Saw him in concerts 3 times!!
"Under My Wheels" is a great early Alice Cooper song.
Schools Out for Summer, must be next!!
This was my late wife's favorite song.
Oldie but goodie !
Cool reaction from my favo couple !
👍👍👍💕🇸🇪😎
Goldie,because it's oldie 😜
This song, on the surface, is about a toxic relationship, but it is also a metaphor for addiction! Alice Cooper used to be an alcoholic before he became a born again Christian many years ago. His wife stuck with him through the difficult years of addiction & rehab, and they are still together almost 50 years later! 💜
My favorite celebrity phot is of Alice Cooper and the late, great Glen Campbell caught on a red light camera in Arizona on the way to the golf course.
"School's Out", "Im 18", "You and Me", "How You Gonna See Me Now", "No More Mr. Nice guy"
