That place looks like a theatre, people are actually sitting down watching the games like it was a sport. How awesome is Japan :) And Daigo is such a badass isnt he.
Thank you very much. I was really kind of in the dark and I really am interested in learning all I can about stuff like that cause I grew up on fighting games
That's part of it. They also collect data of matches between top players in arcades and make charts of how well each character does against all other characters. In the end you get a matrix that gives you a differential between the best and worse. Some games have large differentials (SFIII is around 60) or small ones (SFIV is around 30). People still play with low-ranked characters and win tournaments. They're just difficult to pick up and require working out strategies.
He's like a boss from an old school game that use to get really hard on low hp lol ! But i think i understand how his brain is wired. I tend to preserve all my best offensive stunts and defence without realising. Then losing alot of hp is like a wake up call and it fuels me into a tough defensive zone while being able to be offensive. But he really does same amazing stuff in those situations. I don't think he sweats about losing hp because hp doesn't effect your ability to play the game.
Actually Ken requires a lot more mindgames and prediction, parrying is practically a MUST with him. Yun does require the most technical prowess but in high level it's all muscle memory anyway. Yun, and Chun Li are both higher tier than Ken, Yun being the most offensive character in the game. Ken is balanced so he just seems easy to play. A lot of people need to look up a tier list or play the game for a while.
hahaha again i agree! it'd probably amount to a little more than a moving target for him ×) the thing with low hp... it's possible that it's what you said or it can be one of his mind games, letting the opponent think they're winning and then he just moves in for the kill. He's a beast alright... his killer reflexes + skill + reading his opponents = pure ownage.
kuroda and hayao were the real winners, unlike these 2 teams they both chose characters that are really hard to win with... Q/Hugo. That's admirable in itself for getting as far as they did.
MAn you said it! what an ending! you gotta keep your eyes open or that last round will zoom by you! this def is the best match in existence based on pure drama....other than the infamous moment.
if only these SFIII players would look like some popular actor...after watching these rockin' videos, and start building a profile of them in ur mind, and admiring their them. After seeing them in real life, you kinda feel happy you are not like them..I dun mean to belittle them but its just how i feel now... :P
I don't exactly know how they run the brackets...but Diago played for the Grand Finals against KO...he beat Justin in the semi...so I don't know what the guy was tlaking about
they judge every aspect of each character like how many pixels they can dash how much damage each of their regular special and ultimate attacks do, and how good of combo's they're capable of. so each street fighter game has a list of characters from best to worst based on every little detail.
I find the the mechanics in DOA are seriously underrated, because of the hot chicks. It has one of the most polished countering system I've seen in any game.
@polarity55 I doubt that, Daigo owns all Japanese players, even in 3s. Only player he lost on a constant basis to (and very close at that) was to KO. UA-cam vids prove it man. Its hard to find vids where he loses in 3s.
Care to explain why? You don't seem to have a good reason for disliking it. These days people seem to just hate the game because it is popular to hate within the fighting game community. But honestly I am sick and tired of idiots who bash DOA purely for superficial reasons. The grappling and countering mechanics are amongst the best I have ever used in a fighting game, and the tiers in the game are very well balanced. Overall, a fairly unique game within the realms of 3D fighters.
The dudley was good, but it's hard for him to fare against such high level and high tier players. Since these are elite tourney go-ers. Also, Daigo isn't so great anymore. He didn't fare so well in EVO2k6. He's not crap, but he's not the best either. He's good.
too bad it wasn't this time huh? I know it's supposed to be a team effort, but I have to say that I always get the feeling that the teammate to end it wins all the credit. For obvious reasons too, but I think they feel useless if the first team player wins the whole thing.
in my view makoto is over powered with great pokes good mix up options and a control grab. remove her control grab and a great player can still kick ass with her.
@nightmarebooster when daigo played he was easily a top 5 ken player in japan. stay off the hateraid. the dude has sbo and cooperation titles under his belt
The beauty of picking a low tier character, is that many tourney goers haven't even considered the matchup, helping potentially skew the match in your favor. Who the hell plans to fight Q? Really? NO ONE that's who.
i'm glad Daigo looks cool. Too many of the pro gamers look like....well......you'd rather not look like them. My friends and I joke that we're not pro cause we look too good. You know how you can put poster of your fav. athelete around your room? Not so much with your fav. gamers though.
@MrHyerty And when will you understand that a tournament varies from casuals. Listen he kicked out Daigo in EVO 2011 with a sick perfect and that's that. So please don't bring up other matches which i hardly give a shit about =)
Chun is the easiest player to play in the game when it comes to imitating top tier play. Cause everyone can use low forward super, making her uber powerful and a move that everyone uses from the worst to the best. But learning her move set is just as hard as everyone elses.
nah..i think its just the stereotype in our own individual minds..well, also cuz i'm not from Japan, and if i would live my life like them in my country, it will be weird to the max..
@aluparatha Alright my good sir, live in a fantasy where daigo was the best in 3rd strike and all other 2D fighting games. And please stop commenting on some shit im not bothered in arguing anymore
you are saying hes not overrated because i cant beat him? that makes no sense. what im saying is there are plenty of players who are better than in at 3rd strike but because so many morons have seen the evo parry event they think daigo = 3rd strike perfection. hes good but players like YSB, sugiyama, RX, and kokujin are better.
man, you guys dont even know me, im the best street fighter player of all time, i will beat anyone with any character on any street fighter 2 game, i call out all challengers and will beat them so badly that they will cry to their spouse and/or loved ones. seriously though, playing me in 3rd strike is like playing me in fight night round 2, or nfl street 1 or 2 i will destroy all my opponents, especially kimito in tekken where he cant even touch me
The dudley player didn't show anything special imo, he's good, I won't deny that, But i've seen better, and to call him definately the best dudley, is a huge overstatement. Vic? d? cmon.
would be nice to see some street fighter videos without having to see a comment from someone who knows nothing about sf and is totally hugging daigos nuts. street fighter does not equal daigo. he is overrated as hell. RX KO and even arlieth are better
I love the last part. Daigo unleashes the RUSHDOWN. Classic pressure tactics from a master.
That place looks like a theatre, people are actually sitting down watching the games like it was a sport. How awesome is Japan :)
And Daigo is such a badass isnt he.
Kokujin is a legend. He just has fun when he plays and mocks the opponant even if they are better.
Thank you very much. I was really kind of in the dark and I really am interested in learning all I can about stuff like that cause I grew up on fighting games
i fully agree with you dude! It's amazing how daigo's at his best at low HP, trully awesome!
KO and Kokujin deserve respect for being the obviously more technical players.
That's part of it. They also collect data of matches between top players in arcades and make charts of how well each character does against all other characters. In the end you get a matrix that gives you a differential between the best and worse. Some games have large differentials (SFIII is around 60) or small ones (SFIV is around 30).

If Kuroda's team fought Daigo and Nuki during the finals = MIND BLOWN.

Yes Daigo does indeed look pretty cool irl. Its not fair is it? lol
if only these SFIII players would look like some popular actor...after watching these rockin' videos, and start building a profile of them in ur mind, and admiring their them. After seeing them in real life, you kinda feel happy you are not like them..I dun mean to belittle them but its just how i feel now... :P
one word for Daigo..
awesome!
lol @ 8:39
That guy sounds like he is about to unleash a falcon punch but stoped out of sheer amazement!
Yea you can't help but respect the guy.
Can Someone explain character tiers to me in the street fighter games cause I hear them spoken of all the time and yet I have no idea how they work?
"Kokujin? Yeah, he's alright I guess.."
-Ohnuki
How did the "ay"ing of Yun's combos start? Is it a trend, or...?
@wobhouse I completely agree with you man.
Does anyone know what Model those Arcade Cabinets are?
I don't exactly know how they run the brackets...but Diago played for the Grand Finals against KO...he beat Justin in the semi...so I don't know what the guy was tlaking about
They won SBO, I think that makes them top players.
they judge every aspect of each character like how many pixels they can dash how much damage each of their regular special and ultimate attacks do, and how good of combo's they're capable of. so each street fighter game has a list of characters from best to worst based on every little detail.

I was referring to the chanting not the concept of drinking.
5:32 was awesome
YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY!
and youve won how many top japan tournaments?
I think Kokujin was looking at the wrong super bar. He usually hits that jab into super. That's his like go to move.
i think they are best of the best
@esosj Daigo is a StreetFighterGod. Been owning since 1998.
this is more than daigo and nuki and kokukin, ppl seem to forget about the SBO KO curse.
KO a top player for a few years, who could never win an SBO.
I don't even want to comment anymore on that backwards fighting game!
@StreetFighterUAE Sf3s number one player is Kuroda :D
which one is daigo and ko?
great game play, it's only ashame it was narrowed down to top tier chars [except dudley].
which one is KO and which one is Kokujin
how old is this
Ken go boom! Yun go flat. although, that Yun was pretty epic.
The in-game announcer for SFIII kicks SFIV's ass
Thats my man "Ken"... kick'n yo ass and tak'n ya money!
@Nvoy123 and the music.
Daigo:..... *download complete*
Game Over.
@polarity55 I doubt that, Daigo owns all Japanese players, even in 3s. Only player he lost on a constant basis to (and very close at that) was to KO. UA-cam vids prove it man. Its hard to find vids where he loses in 3s.
Damn Daigo is a beast.
*Watches video*
People should be AFRAID to win against Daigo.
@someguyhunter Better? No. They're all skilled, and Daigo can go toe to toe with all of the aforementioned names.
before that really. first time nuki spotted him he was playing v hunter and ST.
Care to explain why? You don't seem to have a good reason for disliking it. These days people seem to just hate the game because it is popular to hate within the fighting game community.

@nightmarebooster funny how the winner of evo said daigo beats him 70% of the time
bah... i was hoping kokujin would win that first match.
It's an event. The don't just watch people play, they can play themselves too.
AWW YAH!!! DIAGO fucked up KO on that one...there all so good
nuki said:
"i whooped KO's ass before and this time will be no different. KO sucks" < lol
The dudley was good, but it's hard for him to fare against such high level and high tier players. Since these are elite tourney go-ers.
Also, Daigo isn't so great anymore. He didn't fare so well in EVO2k6. He's not crap, but he's not the best either. He's good.
the rule is youre only allowed to "AY" when your in japan.
too bad it wasn't this time huh?
I know it's supposed to be a team effort, but I have to say that I always get the feeling that the teammate to end it wins all the credit. For obvious reasons too, but I think they feel useless if the first team player wins the whole thing.

wHat?! KO is defienatly the best Yun player, Kokujin definately the best Dudley, and Diago is argeuable the best Ken, in my opinion
I think daigo is the number 1
who is who?? lol i know the guy with the hat is daigo
ok, next.
@nightmarebooster when daigo played he was easily a top 5 ken player in japan. stay off the hateraid. the dude has sbo and cooperation titles under his belt
looked like they were fannying about too much tryin to do the super art combos
The beauty of picking a low tier character, is that many tourney goers haven't even considered the matchup, helping potentially skew the match in your favor.

i see that you dont have watch all videos about KO (yun)... KO is stronger than Ryan Hart
Chun-Li's really cute ^^
@nightmarebooster Sry man I didn't think I would be debating with someone who has bad memory and can't even remember what he said earlier.
n00b talk
cr.LK > cr.LK > SA3 FTW
He used to look dorky. Check out his footage of Him vs. Alex Valle in Street Fighter Alpha 3. Now's he got long, colored hair and a goatee. LOL.
kokujin made some vital mistakes in the second round
Haha, Daigo just SA'd his ass on the last round. =P that's what he should have done in the first place!
@MrHyerty
And when will you understand that a tournament varies from casuals. Listen he kicked out Daigo in EVO 2011 with a sick perfect and that's that. So please don't bring up other matches which i hardly give a shit about =)

daigo's lucky kokujin was eliminated early. ;)
sank you!!
he lost to chun who lost to yun who daigo beat.
luck had nothing to do with it.
can anybody translate :(
Well no, Europe has its strengths also :)
nah..i think its just the stereotype in our own individual minds..well, also cuz i'm not from Japan, and if i would live my life like them in my country, it will be weird to the max..
Justin Wong :(
Fail troll is fail.
no he didn't wtf
@aluparatha
Alright my good sir, live in a fantasy where daigo was the best in 3rd strike and all other 2D fighting games. And please stop commenting on some shit im not bothered in arguing anymore
Internet tough guy, lololol.
Even 'Clay Fighters' is better than that dead game.
you are saying hes not overrated because i cant beat him?
that makes no sense. what im saying is there are plenty of players who are better than in at 3rd strike but because so many morons have seen the evo parry event they think daigo = 3rd strike perfection. hes good but players like YSB, sugiyama, RX, and kokujin are better.
fucking SHUT DOWN!!
why would you pay to watch this
man, you guys dont even know me, im the best street fighter player of all time, i will beat anyone with any character on any street fighter 2 game, i call out all challengers and will beat them so badly that they will cry to their spouse and/or loved ones. seriously though, playing me in 3rd strike is like playing me in fight night round 2, or nfl street 1 or 2 i will destroy all my opponents, especially kimito in tekken where he cant even touch me
who gives a shit, kokujib is still beastly!
The dudley player didn't show anything special imo, he's good, I won't deny that, But i've seen better, and to call him definately the best dudley, is a huge overstatement. Vic? d? cmon.
oh yeah, never thought of it that way, oh well i can still beat u guys (nerd myself)
would be nice to see some street fighter videos without having to see a comment from someone who knows nothing about sf and is totally hugging daigos nuts.
street fighter does not equal daigo. he is overrated as hell.
RX KO and even arlieth are better
You have clearly never played the game.
wow japanese fighting each other lol so sad!!!!
