Larry's face is like a child while the old man is like, "just another day on the job" while never noticing Larry's face light up when the engine turns over.
he wanted to buy the car, not showing enthusiasm is part of the negotiation
Yea his face was adorable.
Total child like amazement.
My boy Larry sucked up a mouse at 7:01 lmao
@@luanrosa3022 let's be honest there's no need to negotiate with Larry , guy's too good of a person.

Hey Mr. Ammo man. Have you ever considered making another series of follow up videos? These cars are being cleaned up and given a second chance. I'd like to see what happens with them after the fact. Thankyou
I was thinking the same thing, Axle has bought a couple of cars now ... An episode following up with him would be ace!
@@frank-t6857 It sometimes takes months to get these cars rolling. And he's a busy man as we can see. I understand why you'd only focus on what you do.
Also, Frank, you're getting all this quality content for free. Don't spread negative vibes around please.
Yes, I try to post most owner updates on my IG currently. Hoping to revisit some of these soon :)
Nothing happens to them, the video is just for content 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for replying Mr. Ammo man
Putting a little elbow grease into dirty cars and flipping them has been a little hobby of mine since I was a teenager. Great job, Larry.
I wish I had that cold
I used to do the same. But really cleaning and detailing a car is a lot more physical work than moat realize.
I am not a huge fan of "patina" in general, but the light blue and rust combination ... perfection !
just refurbish the mechanic and let the interior and exterior as it is. it just looks great with the patina!
I had a 1976 Model 2002, in that same color Fjord Blue. Was a nifty little car and I want one again someday! I even had Recaro seats fitted in mine.
I owned two of these - a 2002 Touring and a 1602. Both brilliant cars and easy to work on. I miss them very much and thank you for your reviving the memory!
I've almost got the set, coupe, touring & cabriolet, I don't have a Turbo their about $50k if you can find one over here, Rj in Oz
How you and Axel don’t have your own show is beyond me! You clean ‘em, he repairs ‘em(and sometimes buys them) 😂
I'd watch that
A little bit like wheeler dealers
This should happen...
I am very happy after watching old cars getting detailed and getting a new good home. Its like a therapy for the soul. Larry thank you for this awesome videos. I am also very interested in detailing and i hope i can do it as good as you do. Just bought some equipment and i will start to work with it next week. Greetings and best wishes from Germany to NYC ✌🏽❤️
Can we take a second to appreciate the quality of this video. It's actually too good for UA-cam. This is more like a TV show. Well done Larry 👍
The mix of super-cars and barn finds puts is what makes your channel great. What makes it my favourite is when you add in the mechanical stuff. Great videos.
I have been watching your videos for about a month now. This is by far one of the best sites I follow. Your knowledge of vehicles and the way to best clean them is so impressive! Keep up the excellent work!!
For some reason, I love this car more than any car I've seen you do! The patina on the car is just perfect! Since you've been saving these little projects you're mastering your haggling techniques...lol Nice job Larry!
What a treat to watch! I’ve been waiting to see this one!
Thanks for the great consistent content!
To call a “73 2002 one of my “dream project car” doesn’t even begin to come close to how obsessive I’ve been with these for the past 7-8 years. They’re so hard to find for a decent price around my area, and just like everyone with classic cars these days, they all go off of what a pristine, 100% original, crazy low original miles, museum/concourse quality one sold for at a Barrett Jackson auction 🙄 one day I hope to get my hands on one and build a slammed and swapped little weekend ripper with my dad while I still have him here with me 🤞🏼
Beautiful resto detail as always man 🙌🏼stay awesome, and can’t wait to see what you have for us next
Me too. You'll have to wait in line until I get mine. lol
My dad had this exact car when I was a kid. Same color and everything! I remember I hated riding in that car because the smell of the leather made me carsick...lol
i was just about to say, 4200 for a roundie that basically runs in an absolute steal in this market!
It‘s always just so satisfying, that you turn a piece of “junk” into gold. Love your work and your commitment to what you do and achieve.
The dedication that you put into the washing is just so awesome!!!
I always love that feel-good vibe after you sell the vehicles you detail to some great people
$4,200 for that car is a major steal even in that condition.
Definitely, at least 7k
Would've paid a whole lot more with that condition - You're friend got a steal!
Yup he stole it for sure
I sold my 1975 2002 with major upgrades for £300 back in 1989, it was all you could get for them then as they were very hard on petrol.
How much could it be worth if driving and repainted???
Had a ‘72 battleship grey with that navy interior.
Best car to work on and learn how an internal combustion engine works. Everything on that car is straightforward engineering solutions.
Once those mechanical problems are fixed on that car it will be worth $15,000 for one reason, that spare tire well is not all rusted out.
That smooth edit of the steam leaving the driver's side door panel? Perfectly matched to the music! That brought a smile to my face.
These videos you do shows the value of two things: perseverance and through that, experience. Most wouldn't see the possibility beneath the dirt and grime, not having that oh so valuable experience.
One of my favorite videos! So much fun to watch!! Keep up the good work Larry!!!
So funny. The whole time I’m thinking “it’s not a ‘74 because it has round tail lights and the grill is slightly different”, then Axle comes in and says it lol. So fun to see you clean up an old 2002! Great work!
I learned to drive on a ‘74 manual 2002 so it has a special place in my heart… plus it’s so fun to kick the tail out around a right turn (obviously when there’s no one on the road ;-)
Hope you got some rest after this. Looks like it was draining.
buying /detailing/flipping videos are such a good idea and a real win win for everybody! keep this going Larry!
I had one of these, from 1972, some years ago. I left it at my BMW dealer to be restored. After 8 month it was on the road. You can’t imagine how contemporary the driving is. Miss it but I got tired of having many old cars and not using them.
I got say that love each and every video you create and I see it since you had only a few k subs. Regards from Portugal
Love these videos! Production quality is great and the lofi beats the vibe. Be fun to see what the owners did to them after they were sold.
I love the way the paint looks after running the Cyclone over it. Gives off a "refined patina" kind of vibe that fits the car well.
Mate, your channel is something relaxing. It is so satisfying, seeing all those cars getting proper restoration. Keep it up.
Just found your channel guys and as a British classic car nut I declare that it is awesome! These 2002's are gorgeous and becoming very sought after. Keep up the gr8 work.
Your videos are so amazing they really get my mood up✌️✌️
Man! I want a 20.02 so bad!!!
Absolutely fantastic. I look forward to your videos every Friday morning Larry, they always put me in a great mood.
A NYC ANMO post day is always a great day! Thank you I needed drive& protect therapy! ♥️
I had a 69 blue with steel wheels back in the 90s always liked the round tail lights. Really fun car!
Axel is a great guy, really enjoying this format. Fantastic work as usual Larry!
I really love you saving cars and finding new homes for them. Well done !
Those dual orbital machines are cool! I haven’t used one in over 20yrs. Great job Larry, keep up the amazing content.
Love 2002s and as others have said $4200 is a fantastic deal for the buyer. Awesome video as always 🙌
While I was watching I assumed this might be an $8 - 10k car, given the current popularity. Guess not, seems like he got a great deal
@@kybruce1 I think you could get 5-6 for it. But, the body damage on certain panels kills it's value a ton. Especially the grill and front/rear panel. I mean, the grill alone is a $2k part.
$4200 !! Bargain!!
Bargain buy , especially if one can do the work!
Larry that's just awesome. That's a pretty cool car. I love what you do.
I really enjoy watching you bring "barn finds" back to life. Thank you,
You always learn something new when watching these videos. Thank you Larry!
These cars are great cars, such a classic gem.
Been waiting for this video since the 2002 started popping up in the background. We have been trying to get my dad to start the restore process on my Grandfathers 2002 and been wanting to do an AMMONYC here’s what she could be. Dads fighting Cancer right now so no better time than the present. Thanks for the inspiration Larry!
Question: did you address the “vinyl” headliner on this 2002? I was thinking lather and the steamer but didn’t know if you had a better solution?
You wanna sell the Bmw I buy them
Nice episode. As always thanks for the content Larry!
Ammonyc is that channel that is more like a university course in car cleaning and care. With Larry being an enthusiastic Professor who really loves what he does. I learn something every time I watch.
Love these cars. Question: has a customer ever just given you new carpets to install during the cleanup in an effort to minimize the time, effort and cost of shampooing, scrubbing, steam cleaning etc. of the old ones? Seems like sometimes the cost may be a wash (no pun intended) with, in some cases, better results.
On normal cars (much newer than this) it probably wouldn't be a wash. In general most detailers don't remove carpeting, the UA-camrs do because it makes a better video, and in some disaster details such as this it may make sense.
But I would guess off the top of my head less than 1 in 1000 cars would make sense for carpet replacement over cleaning. Burn spots and bleaching and worn fabrics are more common than that I'm speaking to cleaning.
Myself I just did a disaster mouse detail for my buddy, I turn customers with that kind of car away typically in general. And I didn't remove the seats, I did the back seat since that's almost always a pop-out type thing. But I got the carpets to 90% like new without removing the seats or carpeting. Extract, and ozone will cover 99.99% of cases.
I was thinking that. Amazing job on the detail but next time buy an Esty carpet kit :)
I found a gold cross the other day after cleaning under the rear seat. I only had the car for 24hrs at that point. I say it is holy luck...
This is my favorite channel on UA-cam. I've learned so much from watching Larry and Kevin. Frothe is amazing.
the rust and patina literally give it sooo much more character, even for a car that oozes character already!!! I couldn't do a restoration on this one. It's too cool the way it is now!!!
Hey Larry love the videos! Random question, I've been dying to know what the solution is for all the dirt and water that get washed under your lifts. Thanks
I was just wondering that myself.
To install floor-incorporated lifts you need to have 2 water-drain holes, one under each side.
This was a deal breaker for my shop and now I kinda regret it when I watch these awesome videos.
If I recall correctly in the videos making the AMMO studio they made trenches for the water and debris to wash towards the door.
that car had the best visibility of any I've been in.
I had to check my garage and make sure mine was still there! Thanks for the "how-to" for when I finally get around to restoring mine.
Your videos are strangely addictive. Perfect for running in my office while I work on a big old paperwork project. Buying some of your products for my old Jag too.
M539 restorations would love this car. I wonder if the new owner will paint the car or just put clear coat on it and keep the patina look.
Larry I love your videos really! One question though, after washing the car so thoroughly how much lighter does it get? Have you ever tested that? would you consider it in the future?
this is what we're talking about, it's the best type of detailer video I've seen, everyone should do the same.
Larry, watching your videos is almost as therapeutic as detailing my own.
What stuff did you use on the chrome ? Just regular metal polish? And what can be done to rejuvenate paint that has the clear coat peeled in majority of the vehicle. ?
With a cheap car wax can cause rejuvenation ( like turtle wax 🐢)
my < hood >paint fadded bad 10 years ago. Clay bar just made it worse / cloudy black =Grey = white patches
I finally machine buffed it ( the hood) after years of hand polishing.
1st:h hand polish with a "cheese cloth fabric" to strip off old wax coat first, use a car cleaning compound Polishing Compund; by turtle wax 🐢 then, clean with soap and water. hand dry with Terry Cloth!!!!
2nd. Here you car wax and buff the car.... in the shade / not out in direct sunlight. Apply a wax ( light coat). Let wax dry ½ hour minimum.
2nd attempt / extra credit...use a machine buffer and wool pad to remove all, old clearcoat or" old paint" oxidation . Start over with wax / cleaning
Would like to see some more vehicles from the 70’s if possible!
Music and editing on point as always. Love this channel and it’s has taught me so many things
Love It! I had an identical BMW 2002ti back when I was stationed in Italy in 1989 and I was aboslutley in love. It was so clean and really well cared for by whomever the previous owners were. It ran and handled like nothing in its class even at almost 20 years old. Thank for the memory!
Cant wait for the Toronado!
I had an episode idea. You have a lot of knowledge about detailing Larry. I follow your channel, but have VERY LITTLE knowledge about cars and especially cleaning. My idea is to set this knowledge aside, and wash a car like a non- professional. A bucket, a sponge, some towels, some soapy water, and a hose. Also, I use Murphys Oil Soap to clean the cars. Regardless, I don't have special soaps. Another thing is that time is tight and there is no budget for car washing. What would you do?
Pretty dope Larry good to see you bring another one back to life 💯
Fantastic work as usual! Glad to see that you've managed to sell it and for a good price!
Beautiful car, i don't really like the U.S bumpers though.
A little tip - most BMW parts have a partial part number stamped on it. The obvious exceptions are very small parts such as washers and screws. If you need a replacement part, just make a note of the partial part number, which can then be cross referenced using the EPC.
I love this BMW so much. One of my all-time favorites. Also love those stock rims.
The music has been ON POINT lately, such a relaxing vibe watching your videos
I know Levin and Ken! My father owns over the edge auto( the sticker on the back window) and he sold it to levin years ago!
Wow, haven't seen that machine in a minute! Great job, love watching your videos!
Most wholesome car channel on UA-cam. Thank you for what you do sir!
I'm a huge fan of this series! Thanks Larry!
Love this series!!! Keep them coming! The patina is amazing!
once again, such an awesome video Larry!! as always, thank you for making my day!!!
I don’t know why but I loved this video, editor did great. Larry’s face was stoked when the car fired up.
Yea buddy, keep the old car videos coming
I love the flips, Larry. Please keep it up!
Larry I love watching you revive these cars.
Plus it gives me some tips on washing my own 30 year old Miata.
Do you ever get over spray on your 964? It was next to the 2002 when you were cleaning the under carriage.
Larry! Love these restore and sell videos!
This may sound weird but his videos help me sleep and I can watch his videos for hours on end. Keep up the amazing work
I have been using pressure washer for years to clean carpets and the carpet mats for vehicles. On thing I learned over the years if you hang them up in the sun ☀️ or just hanging them up they will drip dry really well. Also a great tip if you like the “carpet lines” in your mats, while the carpets are still wet, use your stiff bristle brush to go in the opposite direction of the ways the carpet fibers lay and make your lines. As the carpets dry the lines will dry in really good and last a while longer…Just a tip that has worked for me… As always, enjoy your videos!! God Bless and stay safe🙏🙏
Love these old cars! Such a great video Larry. If I had the chance to buy this, I'd leave that patina just as it is and just have it either ppf'd so it stays that way, or something else to keep it from getting worse, but keeping that aged and distressed look. Of course I'd repair the other body damage, but I love patina'd cars 😀
I loved how he said “what’s that?” When he walked in and then when you proceeded to tell him, he yells out WRONG! 😆 That was hilarious, like as if he was testing you! I love this channel
Great stuff , nice to see another 2002 getting the love it deserves. BTW when you started singing the dog ran out of the den and into the yard !
Larry, you're producing some lovely content these days, well done!
Wow, great trip on memory lane. Dad had a 1973 1602. What a lovely car that was.
Awesome job and insightful as always. I had a 316 BMW hooptie in Germany with those wheels and, yeah, what a PIA they were trying to detail.
20 + years ago used to go to Axel’s shop when I lived in CT. Good to see he’s doing well!
One of the best videos as of late Larry! That motor sounded like a swiss watch!!
Larry, you’re getting my hopes up on finding a good barn find. 😅Amazing work! 👌🏼💪🏼
There's this satisfying factor on seeing these forgotten majestic machines that don't look perfect but lets you admire them. The paint and interior isn't perfect yet it exudes a vibe that is unique to old cars. Fun fact is Larry allows these machine to live and retell its tale again. Very therapeutic!
Larry, recently used your MUD and Titan 12 on a quick detail of my daily - incredible products - truly the best I've used - thanks for providing great products for us DIYers.
I love these revivals. These guys know who to go to 👊
All your videos are so satisfying to watch, I love all your work man.
Continously raising the bar. Great!
Another good episode !
Good Job Larry!
I don’t even drive and I’ve seen every last one of Larrys videos haha! So therapeutic
Love tha way you work in details and that shows the interest and love for these wheels
Yet another outstanding detail!!! Im not a fan of B'mers at all but i can definitely appreciate the patience you have when taking these cars to the next level. Also, congrats on actually making the industry better with creating new and better tools to do the job.💪😎
This is my absolute favorite car! Nice seeing you taking care of it
I freaking love this channel. It really makes my day.
