Just looking from a show perspective, Bonnie was probably THE most important character. Without her, Jeremy would still be dead, Damon would still be on the other side, Elena would have never woken up, and everyone would have probably died from just the general terrible things that happened on the show. It’s awful that they claim she “wasn’t important”. They clearly never cared about Kat or her character considering she got the worst plots (Ex: she died like twice, she was stuck in the other side for months, her mom was turned into a vampire, Enzo died, and she was constantly tortured for her magic) At this point, Bonnie wasn’t a character, she was the scapegoat and savior who never got anything in return.
Did anyone ever notice how Bonnie was the only girl absent in both the Miss Mystic Ball and the Mikaelson Ball? The two most iconic balls in the show. It’s like they didn’t want her to shine there.

Agreed! Kat Graham is by far the best actress on the show. Natural crying and so balanced. Nina has a forced crying face. I was wondering though, maybe they gave Bonnie so much hardship on the show because Kat Grahams acting was so good, and even though it was sad, it heightened the show overall. I always thought that after elena, bonnie had the best plot lines?? They made her a powerful ass witch, she was the ultimate hero in the finale and she had tons of plot lines in season 7 and 8. Caroline Dries is one of those crusty people who always think they’re more important than everyone else and that makes them think it’s okay to make fun of others who don’t speak out as much. She has a god complex and will try to crush anyone who has the potential of overshadowing her. The vampire diaries would not have been as successful if Bonnie wasn’t there. Her friendships, love stories, and in general her representation of herself in that show (her ability to stay strong even despite losing so much. Learning to forgive those who really just didn’t deserve it…, etc…) will forever be the most admirable thing.
I'm glad people are recognising & mentioning the racism cos she went through it in much the same way Candace Patton / Iris West is going through it now. Like I absolutely adore Caroline, but out of the three best friends, if I had to pick someone to be the main character just based on their personalities and powers etc, it would 100% be Bonnie. I'm sorry, but I've forever seen TVD watchers hating on Bonnie as a character, and seeing that even the producers/writers did the same thing is just disgusting. She barely ever gets any screen time, unless it's to save someone's ass from trouble again, which in a way is every episode because they're always in trouble. Like I'd like to see her doing her own thing sometime. Instead of her doing magic just to save Elena or Damon or Jeremy every time. Ngl tho, this is probably what makes a lot of fans hate her character. But this is also something the actress has no control over. In fact, it's very obvious that Bonnie, despite having so much potential and actually being still being so amazing, was quite poorly written on purpose. Imagine what this character could've achieved if she was written a bit more passionately or was more dedicated towards. Forget about Elena, people wouldn't even glance at Caroline or Katherine - and I love these two queens.
I related more to Bonnie than any other character. Her relationship with her grandma literally made me cry on several occasions and to see the shit she went through to make those scenes that I love so much happen makes me ache for her. She deserves so much better.

She has a god complex and will try to crush anyone who has the potential of overshadowing her. The vampire diaries would not have been as successful if Bonnie wasn’t there. Her friendships, love stories, and in general her representation of herself in that show

Like I absolutely adore Caroline, but out of the three best friends, if I had to pick someone to be the main character just based on their personalities and powers etc, it would 100% be Bonnie. This woman jumped around from spirit/natural magic to expression and whatnot and survived all of that?? Which still being an amateur?? Like she never actually got taught anything if you think about it. She didn't even know she was a witch until she was 16, and within her beginner days her grams dies, and her mum's like gone forever. She is a self taught. If that's not impressive enough - my girl keeps dying and coming back WITHOUT BEING A VAMPIRE. Like I know, it's not that deep to come back from the dead in TVD, but she doesn't take the same cheat as others. Also, she literally sacrifices EVERY THING AND EVERY ONE that she loves for her friends. Specifically for Elena. All Elena does is cry to Damon and Stefan until one of them saves Bonnie just so she stops crying. I'm sorry, but I've forever seen TVD watchers hating on Bonnie as a character, and seeing that even the producers/writers did the same thing is just disgusting. She barely ever gets any screen time, unless it's to save someone's ass from trouble again, which in a way is every episode because they're always in trouble. Like I'd like to see her doing her own thing sometime. Instead of her doing magic just to save Elena or Damon or Jeremy every time. Ngl tho, this is probably what makes a lot of fans hate her character. But this is also something the actress has no control over. In fact, it's very obvious that Bonnie, despite having so much potential and actually being still being so amazing, was quite poorly written on purpose. Imagine what this character could've achieved if she was written a bit more passionately or was more dedicated towards. I have said this for years and I will say it again Bonnie was the most underrated supporting character and that whole TV series point blank period. She was the blood of the whole series everything that needed to happen needed to have Bonnie. Bonnie legitimately saved the world. No one can change my mind

Lol right I used to love Elena, but the storyline got boring and repetitive, and I finally understood that when they went off to college. All the problems are rooted off letting Elena live and their obsessions of her. Every season was a “let’s save Elena” project. I loved Bonnie from the beginning to end. Did anyone else notice that the only REAL advocate for Kat was Ian? Julie planned on making a season 9 but Kat said season 8 was her last and Ian announced he wasn’t coming back either because if she left, he left. He wanted her to have a stronger story arc. Kat and Ian also agreed that Bamon should’ve happened but of course the producers didn’t listen. The racism and bullying Kat experienced just pisses me off.

I used to be a big fan of the TVD but always felt the same way for Bonnie. I didn’t know we were all feeling this way. She deserves her own show with a team that supports her and her creativity. I wanted Bonnie and Damon to be a thing. They made Elena’s character so annoying! I support Kay graham. She is a beautiful actress.
I love how she still supports everyone regardless and shows kindness. She absolutely always handles with grace. But I think it’s awful the blatant disrespect towards her. I love how Ian threatened to quit the role of Damon if Julie fired Kat. Like they are best friends and Ian cared more about Kat then being in TVD. The only reason I can re-watch this show is because of Damon and Bonnie's role in it.

Bonnie having an Afro would have been the coolest thing ever. I never really liked Bonnie's character but now it makes sense, the writers were doing everything they could to sabotage Kat and that sucks.

The writer’s need to grow a pair and stop fearing fan outrage, do what makes sense and is best for the show. Them forcing Elena and Damon together was giving me major Serena and Dan from Gossip Girl levels of forced. If a ship doesn’t work drop it and upgrade. We deserved Damon and Bonnie, and Kat deserved to play a well rounded character with interesting relationships and development.

Most of the actors and actresses are decent human beings (except for the idiot who plays Matt) but, the directors are idiots for not listening to Kat more, esp with those messed up wigs they make her wear, and for constantly trying to kill her off when she carries alot of the show, when Kat's character Bonnie is one of the main reasons to watch. Her and Ian are probably the best actors on the show. (They're all talented but Kat and Ian are especially breathtakingly good.)
