This video shows why it's so important to do what you do. We laugh at a lot of these scams at how stupid they are or ridiculous they sound. Sometimes it's hard to imagine anyone falling for them, but this woman fell for the Iphone scam and then the refund scam back to back. That's why we gotta keep getting the word out there.

What an awesome video! If I can figure out how to help people like this I will most definitely love to do that. The best part of this video is where you actually talked to the victim (even though she didn't lose any money, she still had to talk to that scammer... She's a victim). I hope you were able to get that software off of her laptop before they could get back on. God Bless you sir for what you're doing to help these people! I hope I can do the same some day!

Absolutely Mary.. older folk just can't comprehend this level of scammer trickery, but with more and more younger gen becoming aware it's hopefully going to get harder for these scammers to dupe people.
If only the government sponsored good folk like ScammerPayback, imagine the possibilities.. When one man with skills and a YT channel has probably done more to thwart scammers than an entire floor of government workers paid to do the same thing..🤔

@@lovelive8262 Catfishing is basically pretending to be someone you are not and start a romantic relationship with someone. They typically make you think they are your dream person, but in reality they are someone just trying to mess with you or get stuff from you (like money). They typically will refuse to do video chat, meet up in person, or sometimes even talk on the phone. Those are the main signs of a cat fish. MTV has a show called Catfish where they basically bust people who do this by going to where they live in real life and showing the other person "Hey look, this person is not who they are saying they are". Pretty entertaining show.

Try to convince you, your husband owes money that you don’t know about. They want this money paid right away. You can give them credit card or something to pay it. If however, you want to watch scambaiters who reach out to victims and go the extra mile, and who are also passionate about spreading awareness and unity in scambaiting then look no further than Pierogi and Jim Browning... I do enjoy KB streams but the way you get treated in chat for merely mentioning Pierogi is bad imo. If you do that in Pierogi chat its fine, its like night and day. Personally I'm finding I prefer Pierogi' message of awareness and #WeAreAllScambaiters. Wanting a sense of unity between scambaiters isn't an unrealistic goal. Its not like choosing between McDonald's and Burger King; they provide services to the public at a cost. KB and Pierogi are fighting the same enemy and if the main goal is protecting people over the money you can earn doing it, then unity is definitely not unrealistic... gives you pause for thought... what is KB's primary motivation? Cause Pierogi has made his abundantly clear.

the elderly are not familiar that such things exist. They believe and that's all. My grandma fell in one very worse, in person! And gave real money in the scammer's hand! They are naive, they trust and are easy to deceive specially in a subject they are not familiar with. And that's why we must protect them

Decent God-fearing, government respecting, help their neighbor, take care of the orphans, type people.... are the kind of people this country was created for.... and are the ones that get targeted because of their beliefs and kind hearts. I want these kind people to learn so that they will survive, but, at the same time, I really don't want them corrupted. A strange feeling. These scammed people, that are the easiest to be scammed, aren't dumb or unwise. They are the sincere ones who tend to be the heartbeats of society. It's a crime in so many ways when this happens to them. Thank God for people like this man and others.

I just starting binging on Pierogi's channel as well. I had no idea that the scammers had so many aspects to their scam - all the way to using their victims as mules!! They also call back their victims over and over to keep them on the phone. They also stay "connected" to their computer using Access remote tools, doing whatever they want to anything at all, at anyTIME- even when the victim is not home, asleep, etc. They can even be in the computer when it's in sleep mode. When the victim doesn't cooperate, they then install viruses, (or just make it look like a virus, if I'm understanding it correctly,,?) take control over the computer, then hold it for ransom. Demanding the money, or destroying the computer! I had NO idea that they do all of this crazy stuff! I'm trying to warn all of my friends and family. I've had major Identity theft, and it really does ruin your life. ( They even committed crimes in my name!) It took years to clean up that mess and fix my credit. They cleaned out my bank accounts, ( changed my life forever,,I NEVER recovered from that...!) I now have the Norton LifeLock 360 on all of my devices with the premium service to protect ALL aspects of my identity. I'll NEVER be without this kind of protection, again. It is worth every penny, folks. All of my devices were hacked.. being hacked is a nightmare- a true game-changer. The amount they stole from me got the FBI involved, and I learned a lot from them. I got hacked from Craigslist,, yes,, scammers love Craigslist. So,, be aware and be safe guys. And always, ALWAYS, at least have a VPN on your devices- even ( ESPECIALLY) YOUR CELL PHONE,! Your cell phone is a mini- computer, I know that I use mine as my computer. Most ppl do online banking on their phones. !!! So, get a VPN, they are available for free. Please take it from me, they can hack/ scam anyone- it doesn't matter if you have a lot of money. They use your information in so many ways,, anyone at all can be a victim!!!! BE SAFE GUYS!!!

I'm a fan and I have a constructive comment that I would like to share. When you introduce yourself to victims on the phone, I think that it is important that you open with your name, the name of your UA-cam channel and a brief description of what you do so that they can verify you online and know they can trust you. The, 'this might be a bit of a random call, but...' line doesn't strike me as particularly strong.
You are an inspiration - keep up the great work!

Considering how most of the victims are elderly, it makes sense to start with that though. The elderly certainly do not know as much about UA-cam (if they know about it at all) as others, so they probably wouldn't understand what a "UA-cam channel" is exactly.

    • @ryanmcbeth3160

I think that the replies to my comment make very good points and it is probably important that a telephone introduction is not too polished or containing any terms that the listener may not be familiar with. I don't think though, that the conclusion to that is not too think through the introduction at all but instead, to formulate carefully so that it is easy to understand and verifiable. Maybe it could be referred to as, 'a TV show on UA-cam called scammer payback'? I know that it's not really a TV show, but it gets the point across in an easily understandable way.

@@higurashianduminekoconnect1702 I've wondered the same. When somebody calls you and tells you all sorts of details about you, it definitely seems suspicious, but I think what helps is the fact that he's upfront about everything and only wants to remove whatever the other party did. Like, he's not asking for extra details etc. Also, American accent probably helps a tad bit. But I'm fairly sure that there have been at least a few victims that didn't trust him. I remember one older gentleman from a Jim Browning's video who basically disregarded Jim's warnings and went through with buying gift cards and giving the numbers to the scammers. Probably thought that Jim was the one trying to scam? Iunno.

Bless this sweet woman’s heart. She reminds me so much of my momma. So sweet and believing of everyone. My mom almost got scammed bad one time. I had to go to her house and kick folks off her computer. I still to this day have unattended access to her computer as a ‘just in case’ to make her feel better. It makes me so mad that they do that to folks, good folks, who don’t deserve this. I have a laptop coming in that I intend to use for this purpose alone. I want to help folks. This has to stop. It makes me so sick to my stomach to think about innocent folks being taken advantage of like this. Thanks for all you do Pierogi. You’re a bright light in a dark, nasty world. I intend on using my skills as a programmer to be that light too. Thanks for bringing that idea to my mind. I helped my momma, and will continue to help her, but I want to do so much more. 👍🏻👍🏻

They’ve almost scammed my mother twice. I’ve caught her at the nick of time both times. They also make a FB account to look like someone you know and then tell you to take advantage of free money from the government. All you have to do is buy iTunes cards and give them the numbers.
The other one was a guy who said someone charged $1000 to her credit card and told her to give him all kinds of info to prove she was the owner of the account. She got as far as the last 4 digits of her social before I intervened. I told her that if anyone calls and asks for her info, to let them know she will call the company directly, then hang up and call the service line for the card.
Ya’ll be careful out there and warn your loved ones. And remind them, especially the older ones, because they forget.

This scammer changed the HTML 3 different times and he honestly thinks that you have no idea. What is scary is to think that some people who have access to computers and the Internet still would not catch on to what they did.
I'm still trying to figure out if they remotely transferred money between the 2 accounts just to see if it was a "real" bank account/website, or if they were intending to use the 2 different accounts to say "oh my gosh you put an extra zero and now you have to do a bunch of shady stuff to make things right with people you've never met before".
I love the videos where you pretend to use all the "extra money" they sent you, and they're still remotely watching you do it and they just start freaking out.

But the fact that you're on the front lines...major props to you. I recently received a call from a number that came through my caller ID as my local power company, and they even spoofed the number. They told me I was going to be sent to collections. I hung up and called the utility company directly and they assured me all was fine. 😑They're getting more creative all the time! They called me twice more today and left an automated voicemail that my power was going to be shut off in 30 minutes. The second call was an hour and a half later telling me the same thing. Meh.
