It's literally the same song and dance as a shady mechanic taking you to the engine and pointing out "this needs to be fixed" for things that are still fine... If you aren't aware of what is normal in a system-be it plumbing, computers, medical, cars, electrical... Then trusting the ones who were educated and trained is the logical approach. So if you're not sure how a serpentine belt looks, that shady mechanic can easily fool you. In the same way that if you're not used to how support actually does things... This could feel like a normal "oh my God, old people are so dumb about technology, why do I have to do this" kinda attitude and interaction.
I once called the scammers 32 times within an hour. They got so mad and asked me why I was doing this. I told the guy that I had an hour of free time and free long distance he hung up. I wish there was somewhere that we could post their number so people with free long-distance and a couple of extra minutes a day could call and tie up the line so they don't get to scam anybody else.
Tweet/DM the scammers number to anti-scammer UA-camrs so they can give them hell lol also, I think they'd know a community that could help (calling/chatting/tieing their lines)
RitaMcBee thats totally a great idea:) the scammers are working together, so let’s work together too and do this somehow organized. I can give time, others maybe hacking stuff etc. Many people do their thing, there are many small groups who are fighting this. The scammers have a network (check hushpuppi, scam) in which people Email, scam, others provide bank accounts, passports, anything imaginable they can use to pull it off, so it would be awesome if we had something like that too, so we could connect and work together. Law enforcement starts to do more, however they take street patrolling more seriously then this and if you report it this it’s we can’t really do something, whilst it totally destroys people lives. People commit suicide over it. Whilst they flaunt their ‘new found’ money in buying Bentley and brand clothes. The total amount they scam is baffling, so yes we should put a stop to this. Where what how, Also people should be more informed (by ten government ? Starting at school, re bromancescams etc. make business safe so they don’t fall for these email scams and wire to the wrong account. There is the real big money. Also a lot of people are ashamed when this happened to them. the scammer counts on that feeling,, so the person doesn’t report it. If they know about this groups they may feel better, in helping out. I also wonder how banks can work more.. re accounts just used for getting money and transferring it to bitcoin.
We need to just get hundereds of people with free time and just call and call and call. I'm down lmao. If anyone else is, not like there's much else going on sense everything keeps shutting down lol
*I love in the end, after all that, they have the courtesy to space between each other’s messages. To not do so would be undignified classless and disrespectful.*
This has happened to me and I literally want to go through the phone. They also called my 86 year old mom and scared her so bad by telling her they were coming to arrest her. I had to stay with her for a long time. Thank you for all you do!!! I want to help you if I can. I got a call yesterday from Robert Lee , go figure, telling me I owed $ 2600 on my taxes. I strung him along a d thanks to your many tips, he hung up on me . Bastards. This needs to stop!
I am so embarrassed scammers got me too because the creep told me if I didn’t pay a late power bill my credit would be affected and I panicked. Dumb but I guess it was a good lesson and I hope I’m a little smarter now.
When you watch these videos it seems obvious, but when it happens in real life it's possible for you to fall into it. I was in a bad mental state a couple years ago (basically borderline psychosis) and the only thing that stopped me getting scammed was my partner stepping in. Many people have vulnerable periods in their life and these people exploit that.
Best thing is not to engage with these scammers. Most people don’t have computer savvy skills to avoid being revenge hacked into like this computer genius in video...
You know it's cool that he's taking up their time, delaying them. Each min/hour that they waste on him is a min/hour that they aren't using to bully and steal from victims.
Sounds like this particular scammer is having a bad day, and I've observed that in general most of them seem to lack the charisma of a good con-man-- It's crazy that they're able to pull off what they do.
Keep in mind that most criminals are not very impressive specimens. Yes we’ve seen the higher end stuff on this channel where those with actual talent end up scamming, but like in our own country, many who turn to crime have not been impressive enough to have lots of other options. These are the people who lacked the focus and attention to make it into the regular call centers. They are not people with developed charisma, or even patience in a lot of cases. Or for that matter the ability to see when the day is lost. They are very susceptible to the same sunken cost fallacy that some of these scams use: they have invested too much to leave empty handed.
Not to brag but, I binge watched you tonight til 4:30am EST because I found your channel. Love seeing great people do great things for society. It gives the wife and I hope there are still great people in the world.
@@jdatlas4668 I just posted a comment asking about this because I had heard that SysKey had been removed. However, I seem to recall using a system with Windows 10 installed on it and still being able to set a password or being asked for one. I could be remembering wrong though, but if Windiws 10 still allows passwords, then it's still the exact same issue because a scammer would only need to change your password during a remote session in order to take over your PC.
@@wrestlerx8494 you mean like, a Windows login password? Most people will presumably have one set these days (mainly because Windows setup really, really wants you to set one), and you can’t change it without knowing it. Also with how aggressively you’re badgered to use a Microsoft account where I believe you can’t change the password like that anyway I’d assume it’s not nearly as much of an issue.
Apparently, for win10, the scammers often install a program to lock your computer instead, but the company for that program has published solutions to remove the password if anyone use their software to scam or blackmail people.
Yes so could all the car manufacturers etc, except they make a lot more money on repairs etc!!look up the early lightbulbs they made them too good and started penalizing companies who made them last longer than others life is full of scams and it all started from those who created things in the first place,it’s the new American way!!!

My parents aren't even retirement age and are mystified by basic troubleshooting stuff. They wouldn't think anything of someone pulling things up and pointing out things that are "out of place."
That would be AWESOME! People calling every 5 minutes, all around the world.
It's there a program that can blast like hundreds of calls per minute.
*I love in the end, after all that, they have the courtesy to space between each other’s messages. To not do so would be undignified classless and disrespectful.*

When you watch these videos it seems obvious, but when it happens in real life it's possible for you to fall into it. I was in a bad mental state a couple years ago (basically borderline psychosis) and the only thing that stopped me getting scammed was my partner stepping in.

You know what really angers me about all of this syskey business? Microsoft could very easily fix all of this.
They removed it from Windows 10 in 2017, mostly for this very reason.
