I like the platinum card benefits but it can be hard to make the $699 worth it if you don’t maximize every benefit and offer meaning monthly travel, using the Amex travel programs and all the offers. It’s a lot of work but can be done. The person airport fast track line is great when you have young kids I must say.

Yeah the $699 is definitely a tough pill to swallow. I'd say that other Aeroplan cards probably provide more value if you travel domestically, but from my own experience, its probably the best card available to Canadians for international travel.
