    The issue with gen1 silent was many agreed they nolonger gave that satisfactory snap so the gen2 are just as they're meant to be. Very hard to get a responsive double tap or feel for plinking with the Gamer finger buttons unless you go for the cherry switch option. I agree with your review. Great observations. Thanks for taking the time.

      @@ShardTown Still significantly slient against the standard buttons though, which is the point. I think it's gonna be very difficult to come up with the "perfect" silent button, honestly. I have a set of GamerFinger buttons ordered and I'm excited to try them and I opted to include the silver ones, but the best part is that I can choose to use different CherryMX switches rather than buy a whole new set of buttons, which I think is the main purpose of these buttons. Not to be quieter.

    My gen2s actually feel even better than my regular sanwas imo, the buttons seem to have a more flexible material in combination with the glossy finish that seems to help with sticking to your fingers even better than before and rising back up faster to double tap. Definitely gonna be buying more of these in the future for any other sticks I buy

    I'm sensitive to noise and I wonder why NO ONE who has made a video on UA-cam about silent buttons has tried putting PC sound dampening foam inside their joystick cases.
    I mean the whole point is to make less noise for yourself and the people around you and NOT ONE brilliant mind has tried it.
    If sound dampening foam works to silent loud PCs, I don't see why it wouldn't work inside a arcade joystick case.

    • @Gabrol
      @Gabrol 3 роки тому

      Don't think it's the same.
      the sound of a PC comes from inside, the sound of an arcade controller pretty much comes from outside. You can't make the button quieter than it is by modifying the case.
      It can help with the resonance from the case, but the buttons themselves would still be loud

    Pretty sure the actual body of the Sanwa silent V2 buttons are the same as originals, so you can customize a bit by just getting the color body that you want (focusattack sells them separately I think) and then use the plunger and switch from the V2.. but you're still limited to the plunger colors of the V2's.

    I live in a quite neightbour, in a house. Once, I bought a cheep ass arcade stick on amazon, to try if I would like to make the change from pad. I'm still playing on pad bc that one arcade stick is not for ps4 if you don't switch your controller on it and I just want to plug and play. But the thing is that my neighbours, the next day after I first bought it ask if I was typewriting in an old machine. It was summer, the door was wide open, but yet... from across the street heard me mashing those buttons. xD

    I just got my gen 2s a couple of days ago. I must say, the rubber texture on the plunger is neither amazing or terrible and after hard use the “RT” button would have dead skin build up. Causing you to REALLY feel the rubber texture. (My palms usually have dead skin after like 3-5 hours of playing). The plungers have a clear coat to imitate the plastic plunger but if you run your finger nail lightly over it you can feel the rubber texture.
    Kind of wish they did the same is mechanical switch stems, where the contact points are rubber but the majority is plastic. This new plunger is all rubber and it’s weird at first but natural none the less.
    Also.... if you have naturally oily hair or skin, I recommend caking one of your hands with the oil and applying the oils over the rubber plungers as the clear coat plus oils will remove the rubber feeling even more.
    Edit: Nihongo said a Negan quote, “Feels Good. Sounds Good. Heh Heh.” PogChamp
    Double Edit: Ibuki’s rear end on the far left engraving is Kreygasm as af.

    • @SevansVII
      @SevansVII 3 роки тому

      Most sticks can be opened; just not this easily. If it can be opened, consider looking into silencing pads for the buttons. Paradise Arcade Shop and Focus Attack (online shops) both sell silencing pads (or foam washers) that fit the average 30mm button. I actually use both brand's silencers simultaneously and the buttons are now much quieter than before. This is also a cheap solution and shouldn't cost any more than $10 after shipping. It's also a fun little project to boot.
      I've done a lot of buying and testing to get the quietest stick possible and there's definitely more that can be done at a higher price point but what I previously mentioned is the best and cheapest way to start. That said, it's never going to be a completely quiet hobby and even a super quiet stick like mine still makes more noise than just using a regular controller.

    I disagree with the springyness of the sanwa button compared to the gamerfinger.. When Im on hitbox the gamerfinger buttons bounce back alot quicker so I can get the next input in for back dashing on tekken. The sanwas don't spring as hard so the input is harder to repeat over and over with clean inputs.. Gamerfinger imo has more spring imo. Gamerfingers also has more thump/harder pad like feel to it, Which I like but I assume original arcade players like the classic sanwa feel.

    I really don't like Sanwa buttons, but that's because they seem to register a press if you barely touch them, which makes it _way_ too easy to press them accidentally. Honestly, I don't know why they go anywhere near as far down as they do given how little you have to press them for them to register as pressed. I switched to Seimitsu buttons, and they've been much better. I've never compared the sound though. I may try Gamer Finger buttons at some point, but I avoid Sanwa buttons like the plague. I find it weird that they're so popular given how easy it is to press them accidentally. I would have thought that a lot more people would be unhappy with them.

      i think the popularity of sanwa buttons is largely because they're the most common buttons in Japanese arcades. Even if they have their flaws, people are used to it and switching can be a scary thought for people who've practiced hundreds of hours/days getting good for competitive play
