I love how the end point for this whole low-profile operation makes you look 1 million times more suspicious. Don't mind me, I'm just smiling to myself while standing absolutely still for dozens of minutes at a time.
If you hooked it up to a mini PC and played some counterstrike you could really push the boundaries of looking like a man of terror by communicating with your teammates
I dont know, wouldn't like to have the most awkward yet straightforward conversation with the TSA to try to explain such an interestingly odd looking concept, they would probably put you on a list...
Yep 💯, I do this at work, the ideal is to photograph your parts on a cutting mat with a grid and use as long a zoom lens as possible. Then seconds in photoshop removing any tilt replaces minutes of careful measuring I'll probably mess up anyway
If I remember correctly, the scaling issue you had with the photo is due to the lens warping the light farther away from the center of the image, so you should be able to take a picture from farther away and zoom in digitally to get more accurate results, but I'm not actually sure
I'm glad to see people pressing brass inserts into 3d prints like that. I don't know how common that really is, but I randomly decided to try it one day while working on a project and it works SO much better than anything I could have printed. And yes, fillet your screw posts! I made that mistake once and never again. 😅
The idea of sliming down the dock is nice. But afterwards why not just use a small backpack or a sling bag, which I believe will turn the current negative fashion score to something a little more positive.
Well, actually in South American countries (like mine) this would have an actual practical use case: you'd be able to play with your Switch or any portable gaming console on a bus or metro train without any robber noticing you've got a $400+ device on your hands. And believe me, here these guys would assasult you even for a CLP$1.000 bill (around US$2) so definitely they would go as far as killing someone to steal a console 😅
I love this. So glad there are people out there that know how to make a review video without a review to show use cases for this! Love the tenacity and moving forward of the process
It always hits me it an unexplainable way when i see someone use fusion 360. I was a summer intern at autodesk working on it and now its part time job. I myself dont know how to model in it but working on it was amazing and its great to be a contributor to such a great software

You could have put the switch stuff and battery into a backpack. And, as a bonus, have been able to put it down when you wanted, and not needed 3 jackets, or looked like you were going to blow something up.
If you have a 3D printer you'll look for any excuse to justify the purchase and pretend you didn't waste money. Dude could have just used one of those third party Switch Grips and sawed off the handles.
I think it would've been cooler to implement it into a heavy jacket itself, with perhaps some kind of tube or heatsink that leads to an exterior hole on the jacket for venting, I can imaging the switch and yourself would get pretty hot with all the body temp and insulation
Ah man, "I want AR glasses now" was not on my bingo card for today. I assumed they'd be horrendously expensive, but £400 for the Air 2, £450 for the Air 2 Pro with electronically controlable shade level on the outer glasses... I'm frustratingly tempted.
