I always buy the 1.75 liter bottle of Bulleit rye and just keep refilling the 750 ml bottle I keep on my bar. Saves some money. (I do that with Wild Turkey 101 and Monkey Shoulder as well.) My favorite Ryes include Bulleit, Knob Creek 100 Proof, Balcones 100 Proof Rye, and Empire Ragtime Rye, 100 proof, finished in Applejack Barrels.
Woodinville Rye and when I bought it it, Woodinville Rye cask strength was less than $70. I like Redemption Rye. Dr Swinson's Rye. I liked Woodford's Rye as well. Old Forester Rye is on my next-buy-list. I recently had Stellum Bourbon and, while pricy, was impressed enough to try their Rye on principle alone.
Definitely almost anything Cedar Ridge, I came up from Joliet Illinois to hit Cody Road, Cats Eye and stayed out by Cedar Ridge and bought a couple employee picks that were amazing and the single barrel rye could bring a tear to your eye it was so good, the employee pick bourbon I had tasted like a liquid chocolate bar ,not sure if it's made it your way but some of our Whiskey Acres juices are pretty good and Driftless Glenn out of Baraboo Wisconsin has a SB Rye that could compete with any top notch for around 35 bucks. 🥃
Totally agree with your comments about sagamore Rye. My first bottle was cask strength and I was surprised how good it was. Last week I was able to find the double oak and the rum finished. Can’t wait to try them all.
Of the Rye in this video, have only had the Old Forester, and it's amazing. My go to Rye is Dickel, took a couple of times, High West double rye, Green River rye and was able to get Alberta Premium Cask strength rye, amazing rye, and for $29.99, bought 3 bottles, regular price at Binny's $69.99
I recently tried new riff rye 👍….a couple of my favorites are willett rye …. If you can find it .. the 6 yr old. And of course michter’s small batch and single barrel . I was fortunate enough to purchase a couple of cases a few years ago . By the bottle they were under 40.00
Hard to argue with those two. They’re definitely bourbon drinker’s ryes and we’re finding that we’d rather just reach for bourbon in that case. It’s also been a solid 12-18 months since we’ve seen a bottle of Pikesville and kinda forgot about it.
We tend to reach for Turkey bourbon over Turkey rye and prefer other ryes a bit more. That’s no shade to Turkey rye though. It’s awesome-just not in our top few (would’ve easily made the top ten).
No particular order: Sagamore Double Oaked Rye Castle and Key Single Barrel Restoration Rye (2884) New Riff Aroostook Wilderness Trail Rya Maple Barrel Finish George Dickle / Leopold Bros Three Chamber Rye Highly recommend the Castle and Key if you get a chance to try it, and the New Riff Aroostook is very unique.
This weekend, I made two Manhattans, my specs were Angostura bitters and Cocchi Torino, but I did one with OF 100 Rye and the other with Sagamore DO, I love Sagamore DO neat, but for my taste, OF 100 Rye made the better Manhattan which I found really interesting. Go figure, one's a great mixer the other is a great neat pour.
I have not been a rye guy but you both encouraged me and to open up to rye a little more. I agree with Erin. That sagamore double oak is the best I’ve tried over the past year. So much so that I bought another as soon as it was gone.
Recently purchased my first bottle of Sagamore Double Oak and was surprised by how sweet it is. To me, it's maple syrup spiked with mint, nutmeg and maybe a little bit of clove. Not sure if I'd put in a cocktail, but it's definitely an interesting easy sipper.
I loooove WT101 rye (especially in a boulevardier), Old Overholt BIB (on the rocks), Catoctin Creek barrel select (thanks to one of my local stores), Old Forester rye, and (while it’s not under $75 in my state) Angel’s Envy rye with the money I saved on the previous bottles.
Without watching yours, and admitting I don't have a ton of ryes (relatively speaking)...Michter's Single Barrel Rye, Pursuit United batch 7cc, Sagamore Double Oak, Dad's Hat finished in Vermouth, Driftless Glen barrel picks.
Agree Sagamore Double Oak is good. Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Proof Rye is amazing, i think it is about $79, one of the best ryes out there in my opinion. High West Midwinter Night's Dram is also great but harder to find and more $$$.
My favorite rye you can find pretty cheap (at least around Texas) is Sazerac. If I'm paying more, Angel's Envy Rye for around $100 is one of my favorite bottles to share with people, especially if they're not normally neat whiskey drinkers.
I'm actually surprised that you did not include Wild Turkey Rare Breed Rye for this list. Although, I recently tried the Stellum Rye myself, sooooooo tasty! So, I would definitely agree with you there. Doesn't Stellum also make a cask strength bourbon too (I thought they did ...)? If you have tried it, what do y'all think about it? I love the channel and watching your videos. So, thank you. :)
Funny enough we love the Stellum rye but only just like the bourbon, and we love Rare Breed bourbon but only just like the rye. Thanks for the kind words Grant. Cheers!
Pause...my five - Bulleit ($36), Pikesville ($50), Sazerac ($30), Rare Breed ($60), and WT 101 ($25)…and now back to the video... I tried Old Forester but I liked WT101 just a little more and I don't see the point in having both so the Wild Turkey claimed it's place in the bar. New Riff and Mullets aren't available where I live, and the only Sagamore Spirit I've seen is their standard rye (which I haven't tried).
I'm with you on the Old Forester Rye 100 and the Sagamore Rye Double Oak. I even held on to my empty Sagamore DO bottle because I'm going to use it for an infinity blend. I do plan on trying that Stellum Rye here soon though. Can't wait, and thanks for the push!
I just saw a 750 of the Sagamore Double Oaked for 56 last night. If I wasn't buying a bottle of Lagavulin, I would have picked it up. I guess we get a better price since it is a Baltimore Company.
My list, with my regional pricing (all are under $50): Redwood Empire Emerald Giant ($30), WT Rare Breed Rye ($36), Pikesville Rye ($43 bucks), Old Forester 100 Rye ($25), Michter's Single Barrel Rye ($40)
My Top 5 Ryes are George Dickel, High West Double Rye, Dad’s Hat Straight Rye, Jack Daniels Single Barrel Rye, and Redemption Rye. New Riff Rye is very high on my “to try” list (I loved their Bourbon). Bulleit Rye is the only rye whiskey I’ve tried that I didn’t like. The others on the video I can’t find in my area.
Wish this video came out before I bought the High n Wicked 5 year Rye that was distilled by New Riff. 45% ABV at $80 before tax in Total Wine. I paid the piper because New Riff isn't in my area. It has totally soured me on the brand and high dollar ryes. Tastes similar to OF Rye or Sazerac Rye. $55 for the Stellum Rye that is a higher proof sounds much more interesting. oh well. Thems the breaks sometimes.
Great video and the list of Ryes are fantastic! I agree that the Sagamore Ryes (all of them) are fantastic and especially the double oak. Maryland style Ryes are making a big comeback and I'm here for it! I never got to try the Stellum Rye and with this review, I'll have to get a bottle. Thanks again and Cheers!
1)Barrell seagrass 2)Rare breed Rye 3)Whistlepig piggyback 4)Rittenhouse Rye 5)Knob Creek 9 rye I tried Sagmore Rye double oak, but the nose wasn’t strong enough to balance out the woody palette (Like oak oak, not toasted oak) but when I blend it with woodford double oak It becomes amazing because of woodford’s strong sweet nose.
I have the rare breed rye and the rittenhouse BiB. Both really good. Clyde Mays 5yr rye is pretty good too. Ive been wanting to try a couple of the sagamores. The double oak anf the sherry finish. I really love the woodford double oak. Never thought of mixing it.
Thanks for the vid Josh & Erin. Have you two had a chance to try Rewood Empire - emerald giant cask strength? This dropped end of last year for $70. My favorite rye of 2022, and I had to bunker 3 bottles.
I definitely agree with the Old Forester, Sagamore Spirit- Double Oaked, and New Riff. I have never had the Stellum so I neither agree or disagree. However, I just tried the Bulleit based on your recommendation and I found it “thin” and like the other Bulleit products disappointing. Will not be buying it again. My personal preference for a good rye under $75 is Redwood Empire or Southern Star Double Rye. My favorite is the New Riff single barrel.
It’s very much a 90 proof solution for rye. We do tend to gravitate toward the higher proofs ourselves but it’s always good to have a low proof option on hand in our book. Realistically we could get by with two ryes if we really needed to though-Sagamore Double Oak and New Riff.
Midway (French Oak or Recharred) are 110 proof and very good for 55$. Peerless is a bit over that price point. Sagamore Cask strength is really good. Hard Truth Cask strength also is very good.
Great video, as always. I appreciate how often you give me an idea for the next whiskey I want to try. I’ll definitely be picking up the Sagamore Double Oak the next time I see it on the shelf.
I still need to get at least one of the last two Stellum Black Rye releases. On the bourbon side, Equinox #1 and Hunter's Moon...so delish. And the MGP single barrels, bourbon or rye, are so underrated...more than the Blue Notr picks now, I think. Also, glad to join y'all's new charitable venture. Big fan of Dan as well....my Barrell/Stellum go-to guy!!!
Great list, and a convo starter for sure! I love baby Saz for < $30, but can’t argue with Bulleit and OF. Sagamore is awesome, have yet to try New Riff CS, and then Stellum. I didn’t like it on the neck pour. Was meh on the next few. Set it aside, months later tossed it into a cask strength rye blind tasting with some hitters, and it won. So I’d say give it air, but so good when it opens up.
It's funny how whiskey can so drastically change flavors from neck to open going both ways. I've had people get their feelings hurt that I didn't like their favorite whiskey from the neck pour (Blanton's), but it's gotten a lot better with some air.
Not a bad list but kind of bloated with MGP sourced ryes. Bulleit, Sagamore, and Stellum all source from MGP and are likely the same mash bill. Clearly you enjoy MGP Rye but I'm surprised you didn't include some other bottles to make sure you mix it up a bit. I agree, Sagamore is fantastic. My favorite rye right now is New Riff Balboa but right behind it is a 9.5 year Sagamore store pick. A couple good picks under $75 I would include are Baby Saz, Pikeville (nice 110 proof), and Willet Rye. Those three can be a little harder to find than the bottles in the video but are a great addition to a rye lineup. The next rye I pick up will be an Amburana finished Rye. Maybe like Koval Amburana Finished Rye or something similar. Feels like a no brainer finishing combo to bring out even more of that sweet and spicy profile of rye.
Great call on New Riff Balboa Rye. That’s a great bottle. We’re personally not as big of fans of Sazerac or the young Willett ryes, and admittedly tend to lean away from bourbon-y ryes as well, so that’s where the MGP ryes come in. That said, we think the ones on this list are different enough based on proof, age, and profile to be markedly different. That was our thought process at least. Great points and comment. Cheers and thanks for watching!
I'd definitely include the Stellum and Sagamore double oak, and maybe even the New Riff, but not the Bulleit or Old Forester. (Especially the Bulleit, which can be beat by so many MGPs it's crazy) Plenty of others beat them both. Pikesville definitely should be included. Woodford store pick ryes blow those two away too. Midway brand ryes(all finished) also. Rare Breed rye def beats them, with Wild Turkey 101 being roughly their equal. Redwood beats them too. (IMHO)
Great video, as always. Just love your chemistry :) You really need to try Balcones Texas Rye 100 Proof, it’s my current favorite and it‘s really unique, like all the Balcones stuff ;)
We’ve got a sample of it in our blind pool just waiting for it to pop up. Have heard everything from praise to puking emojis but luckily the blinds don’t lie. Stay tuned!
I’m not a huge rye fan but I love a high rye bourbon so Kentucky ryes are usually my go to. Rittenhouse is my mixer that I keep stocked, but I also really Liberty Pole Rye which is a Pennsylvania (or Mongahela) style rye
I'm surprised Wild Turkey 101 Rye isn't on the list. It's delicious and like $25 bucks. With that said, it doesn't quite rise to the status of "daily drinker" for me. It lacks a touch of balance, HOWEVER: Then I got a bottle of WT Rare Breed Rye and found it good but I didn't consider it a daily drinker either. But something told me that a 50/50 blend of the two would fix both of them and was I right. NOW I have a delicious daily drinker that averages out about $45 bucks. I'm not kidding- try it. Delicious.
Great list. You know I am a Rye guy and I went through my spreadsheet. Dang some of my favorites are more than $55. I will name off some i have that are less than $55 James E Pepper, Michter's, Sazerac, and at the op of my list is Driftless Gen and Starlight. I have a dozen of them, many are finished and most are picks. They are in the $60-70 range though. My biggest disappointment is Rittenhouse. A year or so ago it was complex and delicious and all of a sudden that changed. I have purchased 3 bottles since and Meh! Good thing it is only $25. Today I picked up a bottle of the new Uncle Nearest Rye. Honestly, not worth $60. Cheers!
At that proof point we admittedly do reach for New Riff or Stellum, and when we want Rare Breed it’s the bourbon we reach for. Hurt to exclude it but we had to keep the list true to us. It’s definitely a worthy bottle to include.
ok.. before watching here is mine. hope i have 5. Old Scout smooth ambler single barrel rye sagamore double oak rye saints alley nobleman still austin cast strength rye old forester rye 100 proof
I am not nearly as into ryes as bourbon, but for a budget bourbon, I really like Rittenhouse Rye and I also like Pikesville, both of which are from Heaven Hill. I think WT 101 Rye is also good as well as Rare Breed Rye. Cheers!
You might want to do an under $30 where you can put Bulleit 95, OF 100, and add WT 101 Rye, Baby Saz, JD SiB Rye and/or Rittenhouse. And then you can put the WT Rare Breed Rye, High West Rendezvous Rye (or Double Rye), and/or Pikesville [or Frey Ranch Rye - if you can get it in your area] in the $30-$75. Gotta say, I'm with Erin on both the Stellum and pretty much anything from Sagamore, they're great. Perhaps some day you can do a Stellum regular vs Black so we know if you think that the Black label is worth the extra $40-50.
I always buy the 1.75 liter bottle of Bulleit rye and just keep refilling the 750 ml bottle I keep on my bar. Saves some money. (I do that with Wild Turkey 101 and Monkey Shoulder as well.) Old Forester Rye is on my next-buy-list. I recently had Stellum Bourbon and, while pricy, was impressed enough to try their Rye on principle alone.
I am a 75 year old newbie to the ryes and started with Knob Creek rye which is growing on me! I enjoyed your video! Thank You!
Knob Creek rye is great! Cheers and thanks for tuning in!
Knob Creek is always a win
My Rye Whiskeys are: Rare Breed, Michter's single barrel, Bulleit, and from my home state of Iowa, Cedar Ridge BiB Thank you and cheers!
Never have seen Cedar Ridge…
I’d like to try it!
Mine would be Bulleit, Russell’s Reserve 6 Year Rye, Old Forester Rye, High West Double Rye and Chattanooga 99 Rye…
Totally agree with your comments about sagamore Rye. My first bottle was cask strength and I was surprised how good it was. Last week I was able to find the double oak and the rum finished. Can’t wait to try them all.

Alberta is so underrated!
Sagamore Sherry finished is my current favorite, High West Double Rye makes for a fantastic mixer as well.
I recently tried new riff rye 👍….a couple of my favorites are willett rye …. If you can find it .. the 6 yr old. And of course michter’s small batch and single barrel . I was fortunate enough to purchase a couple of cases a few years ago . By the bottle they were under 40.00
Pikesville should be in the mix. And very underrated as a bourbon drinker's rye is KC Single Barrel Rye 115 proof.
Shoot…..
Forgot about that one!
@@xiamengbaby Just Edited the typo... 😺
Hard to argue with those two. They’re definitely bourbon drinker’s ryes and we’re finding that we’d rather just reach for bourbon in that case. It’s also been a solid 12-18 months since we’ve seen a bottle of Pikesville and kinda forgot about it.
Damn, I forgot about the Pikesville. Would never, ever be without a bottle of it.
For $25, surprised Wild Turkey 101 Rye did not make the list. Great on its own and in a old fashioned as well. Keep up the great work.
I was going to say the same thing about WT and I would take Pikesville Rye in the 40 dollar range all day every day.
We tend to reach for Turkey bourbon over Turkey rye and prefer other ryes a bit more. That’s no shade to Turkey rye though. It’s awesome-just not in our top few (would’ve easily made the top ten).
Ya WT rare breed rye is really good. Pikesville is fantastic
I am a big fan of the Old Forester, my favorite in this price range though is currently WhistlePig PiggyBack 100% Rye
For a few more dollars, Catoctin Creek Roundstone Rye Cask Strength is really good. It can be found for 79 depending on location.
No particular order:
Sagamore Double Oaked Rye
Castle and Key Single Barrel Restoration Rye (2884)
New Riff Aroostook
Wilderness Trail Rya Maple Barrel Finish
George Dickle / Leopold Bros Three Chamber Rye
Highly recommend the Castle and Key if you get a chance to try it, and the New Riff Aroostook is very unique.
I've never tried the Bulleit, but that Sagamore Double Oak is wonderful (and in NC it's $59.95 🎉).
Great comment! We've found OF100 rye to work exceedingly well in cocktails.
I have not been a rye guy but you both encouraged me and to open up to rye a little more. I agree with Erin. That sagamore double oak is the best I’ve tried over the past year. So much so that I bought another as soon as it was gone.
Sagamore double oak is top shelf rye, can't be beat. Bullet is also great for the price. Good selection in this video, recommend all
Recently purchased my first bottle of Sagamore Double Oak and was surprised by how sweet it is. To me, it's maple syrup spiked with mint, nutmeg and maybe a little bit of clove. Not sure if I'd put in a cocktail, but it's definitely an interesting easy sipper.
Great list! If you want to consider something that breaks the mold for Rye, try a Texas Rye, like Balcones, Tahwahkaro, or Acre.
Haven’t gotten into ryes yet but this list is where I’ll be starting for sure!
Without watching yours, and admitting I don't have a ton of ryes (relatively speaking)...Michter's Single Barrel Rye, Pursuit United batch 7cc, Sagamore Double Oak, Dad's Hat finished in Vermouth, Driftless Glen barrel picks.
I have heard so much good about the Sagamore the peer pressure is making me crack. Have to get one soon. Thx for the info - love me some Rye!
Agree Sagamore Double Oak is good. Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Proof Rye is amazing, i think it is about $79, one of the best ryes out there in my opinion. High West Midwinter Night's Dram is also great but harder to find and more $$$.
I love the Sagamore rum cask finish. It's banana bread in a glass.
My favorite rye you can find pretty cheap (at least around Texas) is Sazerac. If I'm paying more, Angel's Envy Rye for around $100 is one of my favorite bottles to share with people, especially if they're not normally neat whiskey drinkers.
I totally agree with you. The Sazerac is very unique with a black licorice taste to it. And the Envy is just delicious in all settings..
Smooth ambler contradiction rye, is another good one.🥃👍
Checkout a rye called Breakout. $15 and crushable. Store manager pointed it out, I went ahead and tried it and man was I pleasantly surprised!
That sagamore is my favorite too because I love oak flavors in my bourbons. I didn't really like a lot of ryes until I had this one. So damn good.
Great video!!! My choice is Redwood Empire Rocket Top Rye Batch 2 - the green label one - yum yum yum
Starlight Huber’s CS Rye, Knob Creek CS Rye, New Riff SB Rye, Sagamore Rye (all),
My list, with my regional pricing (all are under $50):
Redwood Empire Emerald Giant ($30), WT Rare Breed Rye ($36), Pikesville Rye ($43 bucks), Old Forester 100 Rye ($25), Michter's Single Barrel Rye ($40)
Sagamore PX, dbl oak, cask strength, all Sagamore:) Rare Breed, Russell’s Reserve 6yr, Michters, and Belfour Rye
Try New Riff Malted Rye! I love the Sagamore Double Oaked
Great Video. The sagamore double oak is fantastic. Not a rye guy but love it. High west double rye is outstanding too
I’m a bit new to rye but I’ve had Bulleit rye and Baby Saz rye. I liked both but I’ve fallen hard in love for The Senator.
I love, love, love Rare Breed Rye. Added some of these to my list though...
Sagamore double oaked, Sherry, cask strength, starlight double oaked, redwood empire rye
I know I'm late, but pausing 1min in to say I think for the upper end of your scale, the Whistlepig Piggyback is HARD to beat! $55/fifth here in NC
Ya bulleit rye kept me away from rye for awhile. Now that ive had some good ones, i really like rye
Wish this video came out before I bought the High n Wicked 5 year Rye that was distilled by New Riff. 45% ABV at $80 before tax in Total Wine. I paid the piper because New Riff isn't in my area. 1)Barrell seagrass
2)Rare breed Rye
3)Whistlepig piggyback
4)Rittenhouse Rye
5)Knob Creek 9 rye
I tried Sagmore Rye double oak, but the nose wasn’t strong enough to balance out the woody palette (Like oak oak, not toasted oak) but when I blend it with woodford double oak It becomes amazing because of woodford’s strong sweet nose.
I have the rare breed rye and the rittenhouse BiB. Both really good. Clyde Mays 5yr rye is pretty good too. Ive been wanting to try a couple of the sagamores. The double oak anf the sherry finish. I really love the woodford double oak. Never thought of mixing it.
You should review some Canadian ryes. Canada makes some great ryes.
Some great mentions! Nashville barrel pick rye has been my go to lately for just a couple more dollars.
Love those NBC ryes!
I saw a variety of Stellum at a store in Maryland last weekend. I didn't know what to look at, or pick.
There’s definitely a lot out there. Their standard rye might be our favorite product of theirs to be honest. Definitely the best value.
@@stuffandwhiskey I'll buy some next time.
Thanks for the vid Josh & Erin. Have you two had a chance to try Rewood Empire - emerald giant cask strength? This dropped end of last year for $70. My favorite rye of 2022, and I had to bunker 3 bottles.

Great list! No one else out there that’s consistently doing rye as well as Sagamore
The one bottle I would add to your list is Rare Breed Rye. Otherwise, I love your list. Keep up the good work.
I would add High West Double Rye
Nice list guys! Definitely going to pick these up over time!
No JD Single Barrel Barrel Proof?
This is an older video when that wasn't an available product. Would 100% make the list these days!
Midway (French Oak or Recharred) are 110 proof and very good for 55$. Peerless is a bit over that price point. Sagamore Cask strength is really good. Hard Truth Cask strength also is very good.

(Especially the Bulleit, which can be beat by so many MGPs it's crazy)
Plenty of others beat them both.
Pikesville definitely should be included. Woodford store pick ryes blow those two away too. Midway brand ryes(all finished) also. Rare Breed rye def beats them, with Wild Turkey 101 being roughly their equal. Redwood beats them too.
(IMHO)
1. Michter's
2. Middle West
3. New Riff Malted Rye
4. Rabbit Hole Boxergrail
5. Sazerac
Rabbit hole 👌
Great video, as always. Just love your chemistry :) You really need to try Balcones Texas Rye 100 Proof, it’s my current favorite and it‘s really unique, like all the Balcones stuff ;)
Balcones Rye is special.
I’d be happy to mail y’all a sample.
We’ve got a sample of it in our blind pool just waiting for it to pop up. Have heard everything from praise to puking emojis but luckily the blinds don’t lie. Stay tuned!
Balcones cask strength was fire water. So off putting ive not wanted to try their other stuff.
What about Jefferson's Ocean Rye?
Good question. We’ve never tried it.
Pikesville, Prideful Goat, Frey Ranch…..
Wow Erin you sounded just like my wife describing these rye’s and being basic😅. All are her favorites too. Thanks she loved this video.
Sazerac Rye has started showing up in Michigan and I've taken a liking to it.🥃 Cheers
Cheers from one Michigander to another!
I’m not a huge rye fan but I love a high rye bourbon so Kentucky ryes are usually my go to. Rittenhouse is my mixer that I keep stocked, but I also really Liberty Pole Rye which is a Pennsylvania (or Mongahela) style rye
Have you tried Pikesville? To me it tastes like Rittenhouse but bigger flavor and complexity and an all around delicious "barely legal" rye
@@Joshwiththefries I haven’t gotten a chance to try it yet, but it’s been high on my list to try for that very reason!
Pikesville - James E Pepper Sherry finished - New Riff 6 year Malted - New Riff Balboa - MB Roland
Pikesville
Woodinville rye, michters come to mind
If you haven't tried Still Austin Cask Strength, you owe it to yourself to give a sip. It is more of a bourbon drinker's rye but man it is good!
Pikesville, Rare Breed, Stellum, Sagamore Double Oak & a Canadian...Lot 40.
Oh, I totally forgot Alberta Premium Cask Strength about $60 to $70 in Chicagoland area.
Well just finished watching and we agreed on 2 ! Not too shabby.
Alberta CS is so good. We’ve tried it once but never see it in stores locally. It’s definitely list worthy!
The Sagamore Spirit Cask Strength is a very slow sipper…I think the proof almost overrides the flavor.
Erin tossin' out the Latin...ad nauseam 😁I love rye, especially this time of the year. Thanks for the rye-focused content!
Got more coming soon! 😉
I'm surprised Wild Turkey 101 Rye isn't on the list. It's delicious and like $25 bucks. With that said, it doesn't quite rise to the status of "daily drinker" for me. It lacks a touch of balance, HOWEVER:
Then I got a bottle of WT Rare Breed Rye and found it good but I didn't consider it a daily drinker either. But something told me that a 50/50 blend of the two would fix both of them and was I right. NOW I have a delicious daily drinker that averages out about $45 bucks. I'm not kidding- try it. Delicious.
We’ll have to try the blend. We’re big Turkey bourbon fans but tend to reach for other ryes for some reason.
Pikesville Rye
Rare Breed Rye
Stellum Rye
Hard Truth Sweet Mash Rye
New Riff Malted Rye
Honorable mention: JD TN Taster BP rye was $35, just saying 😉
Hard truth isn’t nationwide, yet.
We recorded this before we tried Hard Truth otherwise it would’ve been on here!
Cheers!
Milam & Greene Port Finished Rye is the best Rye to me. Don't disagree with any of your other picks though all good choices
No Rare Breed Rye listed eh?
At that proof point we admittedly do reach for New Riff or Stellum, and when we want Rare Breed it’s the bourbon we reach for. Hurt to exclude it but we had to keep the list true to us. It’s definitely a worthy bottle to include.
ok.. before watching here is mine. hope i have 5.
Old Scout smooth ambler single barrel rye
sagamore double oak rye
saints alley nobleman
still austin cast strength rye
old forester rye 100 proof
ok. i had two out of your five..i will admit also that bullet 95 rye also let me kmnow that i liked rye's..
Willet 4 year, sagamore sherry, stellum black label, seagrass, and an unpopular pick here angels envy rye 😬
Oh shoot just realized the price on these. I can keep sagamore sherry, willet, and seagrass on sale 😃
I am not nearly as into ryes as bourbon, but for a budget bourbon, I really like Rittenhouse Rye and I also like Pikesville, both of which are from Heaven Hill. I think WT 101 Rye is also good as well as Rare Breed Rye. Cheers!
Those are perfect ryes for the bourbon lover and all could’ve made this list. Great choices Mike!
I've been really searching for Pikesville here in Texas, but haven't been able to find it anywhere yet.
@@Klust413 if you have a total wine & more near you, they should have it
No Pikesville????
It's great but not our favorite, and we *never* see it in our local market, so we often forget about it. The last time we saw it here was circa 2019.
knob creek rye is so good for 33
Pikesville Rare Breed Peerless Double Whiskey Acres Cast Strength Sagamore Double
That bottle of rye has a really long name!
Stellum Black Rye is waaaay better
Pikesville, Knob Creek, Rittenhouse, WT 101, and Elijah Brooks or George Dickel for mixing
Old forester, wild turkey: rare breed, Pikesville, sagamore, New Rift. Thats my guess. We'll see....
Anything Sagamore also Piggy Back
bulleit is $35 here in ny
Seriously!? That’s not for a 1.75L or 1L is it?
@@stuffandwhiskey thats for a 750ml.....crazy right
@@davebenson8547 VERY crazy. We've never seen it over $25.
Peerless double oak rye delicious but it is over $75
Prideful Goat cask strength rye
Ive never seen any prideful goat products. I like his channel so i would love to try some, but its not around in MASS
@@jacksmith2315 it’s available on Seelbach’s.
