Agreed, we don't sell whiskey, but we have trader bottles a couple of times. Secondly, we typical don't buy bottles over $70, but do have a 3 or 4 that were over that.
Favorites on our shelf;
Wild Turkey Rare Breed,
Redbreast 12 year cask strength,
ASW Fiddlers Georgia Heartwood store pick,
Belle Meade Reserve,
Old Elk 110pf store pick,
George Remus Single Barrel, Barrel Proof
I have a bottle of the Perry Perry from Four Gate. That stuff is no joke. Legit one of my best bottles. Same with the Kelvin Collab 4 I have.
And yes I had pleasure last week to taste both of your Nashville Barrel picks last week. Excellent!
Erin dropping mics. Great video guys. I need to get to Nashville to try this “experiment” you mentioned Josh. Cheers!!
Great list. Not as many store pick where I am at. But definitely want to try more of them. cheers.
Eagle Rare , Bakers 7 , Four Roses Single Barrel, Jack Daniels Single Barrel Select , and Makers Mark 46 Full Proof 😄🥃 these are my five favorite I know some of them are daily sippers but love all of them
@@billjoynes3433 thanks ya I don't go hunting for allocated bottles to me it's tiresome
That’s a great list! Maker’s 46 Cask and Baker’s 7 are criminally underrated.
No special occasion pours for my collection yet. I've been really enjoying the Sour Mash, Rye and regular bourbon from 13th Colony lately. Limited Releases and 2022 wood finishing offerings from Makers are some of my favorites as well.
I am currently enjoying Old Grand-Dad Bonded, Early Times Bib, Russell's Reserve 10 year, Larceny Small Batch, and Evan Williams 1783. I should also include an Irish whiskey that is delicious--Writers Tears Double Oaked.
Speaking of store picks. Since you’re familiar with Bill’s Package Store in Clarksville, they got some Penelope store picks in. They have the Architect private build, and the Penelope finished in Tokaji casks. The latter is spectacular.
My 5 are JD SiBBP Rye 2020, JD Heritage 2018, Remus Repeal Reserve V, BBC Discovery #4 and a New Riff SiB Bourbon pick from a local group.
What a great surprise getting to hear you on the Alabama Football Podcast! As a fan of that podcast and your UA-cam channel, I want to thank you for linking the two media platforms. Bourbon and football, it doesn't get more American than that.
I look forward to all your upcoming releases.
Love this episode! My 5 best right now: Elijah Craig BP A123, Four Roses Single Barrel, Widow Jane 10 Year, Rare Breed, OGD Bonded.
Bookers small batch, EH Taylor Barrel Strength, Blantons, Stagg Jr, amd Ironclad Bib are my favorites to share
My current top 5 are 2020 George T Stagg, 2020 William Larue Weller, Kentucky Owl Rye Batch 2, Balvenie 15 single barrel sherry cask (I found a first fill bottle), and Bardstown discovery batch 4.
If we expanded it to other spirits, I'd probably add a rum and a calvados to that list
Great list. My 5 best that I own are: Stagg Jr, Weller Full Proof, EH Taylor Single Barrel, Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend batch 93 and Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Strength. 🥃
My top five bourbons that I have right now: antique 107 store pick, Russell’s single barrel store pick, McKenna 10, EH Taylor small batch, eagle rare single barrel store pick
Honorable mentions: stagg store pick and blantons gold store pick
1. Old Forester SiB BP
2. Jack Daniel’s SiB BP

4. Wild Turkey Rare Breed
5. Old Forester 100
My stash top 5…
1. Rock Hill Farms
2. Blanton’s Gold
3. JD SBBP
4. Maker’s Mark Private Select IBN Butterscotch Effect
5. Rittenhouse Private Single Barrel Bitters + Bottles
Eagle Rare, Blantons, E,H. Taylor small batch, Buffalo Trace and Brother's Cut.
Loved the mic drop!!
Been so Blessed to get some amazing bottles here in NC at MSRP. My 5 favorites are Old Fitz 17yr and 19yr. GTS 2022. EHT Barrel Proof. Russell’s 13
My current 5 favorite bottles are Redwood Empire Pipe Dream, Larceny Small Batch, Four Roses Single Barrel, Wild Turkey Rare Breed and Bulleit Rye.
I have a few unopened bottles, I try not to have too many open bottles. Unopened included 1 Eagle Rare, 1 TX Port Finish, 2 Buffalo Trace and 1 Russell's Reserve 10. I also love Bunnahabhain 12 Scotch❤😋🥃
Best bottle I ever bought was Kentucky Owl Rye batch 01. 02 and 03 not close, sitting on the 04. Second best was probably George T Stagg 2018. Woodford Reserve Masters Collection 2019 was really good, I've got a 2021 I have not cracked. I had a Journeyman Last Feather Rye store pick that was amazing. Found North batch 06 was great, have 03, 04, 05 and a single barrel. Old Fitz 17 year I have open is outstanding as is my Thomas H Handy 2020. The Michter's 20 year old's I've tasted have been great but I never bought one.
My most special bottle is wild turkey russells 2003. Amazing flavor, barrel proof at 89 proof (so approachable for "normal" people), last year of the 107 barrel entry proof... And I love WT all around so definitely my #1. My other top pours are four roses 2021 LE, wild turkey 17 BiB, heaven hill heritage 17 yr, Kentucky owl rye batch 1, and Westland distillery Deacon Seat batch 2 (single malt)
I love "best" lists, even though I seldom see or can afford what's on them. 🙂
The best of what I own includes corn whisky, but not rye, because right now I own corn whisky but not rye.
1. Balcones True Blue corn whisky, barrel proof, single barrel, Total Wine store pick
3. Knob Creek 9
4. Bluff Springs bourbon
5. George Dickel No. 12
For the first time since December of 2021 Balcones Texas Pot Still Bourbon isn't in first place - right now it's not even on the list. But the last two bottles I've bought have tasted weak, almost like they've proofed it down to 80, even though the label still says 92. But that True Blue is FANTASTIC.
My best bottles would be EHT full proof, Stagg JR batch 12, Calumet 15, Weller full proof, EHT single barrel
If you guys enjoy finished bourbon, try to get a bottle of Penelope Rio that just came out. It's getting good reviews.
My best are probably:
1. Willet Family Estate 15year bourbon
2. Kentucky Owl - The Last Rye
3. EH Taylor Barrel Proof
4. Four Gate Kelvin 10 year Seelbach’s pick
5. Old Forrester Single Barrel Barrel Strength Ohio store pick
My five...OF 150 Anniversary, RReserve Single Barrel store pick, Cal 16, Remus Reserve V, EH Taylor Barrel Proof 2021
My shelves are a little light these days, but in no order:
*John J. Bowman Single Barrel (a specific, older bottle)
*ECBP C922
*Rebel 10 Year Single Barrel
*Filibuster Single Barrel, Single Estate Wheated (a 4 grain)
*either Eagle Rare or Blanton's
Makers Mark Wood Finishng Series SE4PR5, ECPB You Do You Bottle, Heny Mckenna Single Barrel BiB, Russels Reserve OHLQ Holiday Barrel Pick and Heaven Hill 7yr BIB would be my top 5
1.SmokeWagon uncut unfiltered,
2.WT Rare Breed
3. Woodford Reserve Dbl Oak
4.Buffalo Trace
5. and sorry but I like Benchmark full Proof.
my 5 favorites I currently own:
Jack Daniel's Coy Hill Single Barrel
13th Colony Double Oaked 2023
Russell's Reserve 13yr
Booker's
Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Strength
Just opened up my first taste of Stellum Rye. Wowza! Need some big boy pants for that one.
My 5 best would be a Remus Gatsby Reserve, George T Stagg 2022, Old Forester Single Barrel Master Distiller Select, Woodford Reserve Historic Barrel Entry, and rounding out my 5 would be a recent purchase of a Four Gate Split Stave or a Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof that's fantastic!
5 Best bourbons/Ryes I currently own (right now, because list may change tomorrow - and by best I mean ones I am especially enjoying right now): Rock Hill Farms, 2X0 Phoenix, Coy Hill, Stagg Jr., Midwinter Nights Dram. More available runner-up favs: Wilderness Trail wheated mash-bill, J. Henry & Sons cask str., Knob Creek 12yr, Bakers’s Single Barrel, Bookers.
I’ve only been collecting for about year so nothing to crazy but bourbons: Russell’s 13, I have one willett purple top 8yr, old Carter TN-1, old Fitzgerald 17yr, and four gate Kelvin collab 2. Ryes: rare character pick from elixir, four gate ruby rye springs, old forester barrel strength rye.
Honorary mention for bourbon is wild Turkey 12 yr lol
I’ve been lucky to get some good ones. Wish I would have gotten into bourbon a little sooner though..it’s hard to keep up with everything lol
Lol love how she's rapping a Master P song 😂 dope
I'm jealous of that Jack Daniel's Barrel Proof Rye. Never found and haven't found anyone will to swap samples.
As for my favorites I own, I'd have to say:
Wild Turkey Master's Keep Bottled in Bond
Blue Spot
Michter's Barrel Strength Rye
Heaven's Door Redbreast (incredibly underrated too, I could probably still find it without too much hunting)
Wild Turkey Master's Keep Revival
I do intend to buy a bottle of Highland Park FL Edition soon, and that will almost certainly knock one of the above out.
Great list Kenneth! Those Michter’s Barrel Strength Ryes are something special as is Blue Spot.
Me 5 best are Blantons, eagle Rare, bardstown fusion #6, Calumet 15, four Roses single barrel.
I love any Eligh Craig 12 yr. Sagamore sherry cask and Henry McKenna. I have not cracked my JD single barrel rye.
In no order...
JD special release rye 20'
Handy 22'
Four Gate Kelvin IIII
Stagg jr B12
Bardstown Disco 3
Honorable mentions...
WT cornerstone
ECBP C919
Love the list. I feel my list would change based on what type of drinker is coming over such as someone new to whiskey vs experienced whiskey drinker.
I just picked up a bottle of the new Jack Barrel Proof Rye!!! 136.9 proof today 🔥🔥🔥
Look at Erin throwin' up the gang signs (that's me quoting Tony Stank, I mean Stark...). The five best/favorite (in no special order):
1. Angel's Envy Rum Cask Finished Rye
2. Pikesville Rye
3. Knob Creek 9 Year Single Barrel
4. 1792 Full Proof Single Barrel
5. Evan Williams Single Barrel
All of these were found in the store, no haggling or trading or secondary prices - I'm not at Josh-level of whiskey acquisition yet. I do have some Blanton's, Buffalo Trace, and Rare Breed but for me these five are the the top right now.
Jack Single Barrel Proof
Calumet Farms16 year old
Wild Turkey Rare Breed
Prideful Goat 15 year
Eagle Rare (Honorable Mention)
Blantons
Not in order! Only can get Eagle Rare and Blantons when my Army buddy comes into town
Love the Port Perry Perry. Found it still in a store shelf less than a month ago. They had two and wish I would've bought both. Curious which TN Tasters you are referring to? I live in TN and still see some at my local store. They have 3 different Ryes right now. Would be interested which of them you would recommend?
The barrel proof rye release from 2019. The new pecan finished whiskey is very solid though!
Not a big fan of Elijah Craig small batch, but I took a gamble on a local store pick. Let's just say I was not disappointed with my decision. Cheers
The 5 best (my 5 special pours) currently:
Lucky Seven The Holiday Toast (115 proof)
Peerless Rye (111.5 proof)
Midwinter Night's Dram (Act 9, Scene 3 - 94.6 proof)
Sagamore Spirit Sherry Finish (106 proof)
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof (Total Wine Private Barrel - 126.9 proof)
Also, Erin, the kids are still totally saying cap / no cap. My 10 year old says it all the time...
Y’all need to try Sagamore Port finished.
We’ve got it and enjoy it quite a lot, but their Sherry finish is even better for our palates.
Bookers 2022-04, Russell's Reserve SiB Barrel pick, Yellowstone hand picked SiB, Henry McKenna 10 yr, Four Roses SiB and Baker's 7 .
🥃 Cheers 🥃
1. JD Coy Hill 139.5 Proof
2. Stagg Jr. Batch 16
3. Stagg Barrel Pick
4. Masters Keep Bottled in Bond
5. Old Rip Van Winkle
Stagg Jr Batch 16 is so dang good. We never got a bottle but did blind a sample with the rest of the Stagg Jrs and it was easily the winner.
@@stuffandwhiskey My wife, sister and I, went to a lottery. You get drawn, you choose from what’s left. I was drawn first between the three of us and there was one bottle of Old Rip left so I grabbed that for my sister. She later got me one of the many Batch 16s. My wife was gunning for the Woodford 118.4 batch proof but the number before her took the last one. So she grabbed a Batch 16. There was 6+ Coy Hills left over, people just avoided them. I came back a week later and asked what happened to them. Said they had 2 left in the back and offered them to me. Wow. I was blown away by how good it was. Best bottle I’ve owned. I did side by side it with a 2019 WLW and I preferred the WLW. But it wasn’t blind 🤷🏻♂️
Love to find single barrel and store picks more than trying to find unicorns. Our special pours are the Bookers we have and the picks we chose from Hard Truth Distillery when we did their single barrel experience and tour. Cheers
Josh, I'm not gagging at Erin's marriage comments. That's how I feel about my wife. The perfect marriage is Robert and Yong. 🇰🇷
Visiting Nashville next week to see family - any recommendations??
Tons! We’ve got a whole city guide written for folks. Check www.bit.ly/swnashvilleguide/
@@stuffandwhiskey thank you! The link is not working! Keep getting a 404 message
@@theandybee3050 linking on UA-cam can be weird sometimes. Sorry about that. If you type bit.ly/swnashvilleguide out it should work.
1. Joseph magnus cigar blend batch 74
2.jack daniels special edition barrel proof rye
3. Remus repeal reserve 5
4. Jack daniels 12 yr
5. Elijah craig barrel proof batch c919 (honorable mention to c920, c918 and b520)
Wouldn’t be an Aidan list without ECBP. C919 has to be a monster if it beats C920.
This video was great fun. In the enjoyer/collector ratio, I assess Josh and Erin being 80% enjoyer and 20% collector, and I’m happy to be wrong about that. Your collecting stories are “fun forward,” emphasizing enjoyment over possessing. That said, I have met and been fascinated by some collectors as obsessive as Captain Ahab. They know the delivery schedules and arrive at the store twice or thrice weekly asking, “Hast thou seen the Great White Whale?” You could invite me in and offer me a pour of Old Rip Van Winkle 25 ($65,000 secondary), and I would happily accept, but I would be just as excited to taste your Jack singlebarrelspecialrelease killer rye. Okay, maybe not as excited. You two speak for me, the voiceless little guy. Call me Ishmael.
Love this Larry! And yep we’re definitely way more enjoyers than collectors. The few bottles we don’t have open are only because they’re backups but a good 95%+ of everything we have is opened and shared with others. It’s all about the fun and the relationships that whiskey can build.
Current Top 5: 1. Wild Turkey Masters Keep Unforgotten 2. Bookers "Charlie's Batch" 3. Russell's Reserve Private Barrel Selection Single Barrel 4. Knob Creek Single Barrel Select 120 Proof Store Pick 5. Four Roses Single Barrel Barrel Strength OBSV Store Pick
WHISKEY CHEERS 😎
1. Heaven Hill 17
2. Wild Turkey 12yr
3. Old Carter batch 10 Rye
4. Stagg Jr batch 15
5. Eagle Rare SiB local store pick
Honorable Mention - WTMK Unforgotten & OC b10 American
Fun video! Cheers all
1. Glenmorangie Madeira Wood Finish
2. Macallan 18 Sherry Oak
3. King of Kentucky
4. Coy Hill SiB
5. ECBP B520
King of Kentucky and B520 are so good. If we had either we’d have definitely considered them. Great list!
EH Taylor Single Barrel, Elijah Craig BP B520, Jack Daniels 12Year, Laws Four Grain Straight Bourbon and William Dalton Wheated Bourbon (Spirits of French Lick)
Since it seems clear that you both love Jack, I have a couple of questions that I hope you could answer:
1) Do you like the standard #7?
2) Are either of these hazmats like #7?
Although I haven't had it in YEARS, I used to enjoy Gentleman Jack... but I've NEVER like the standard juice. I had their BiB recently and didn't like it because it reminded me of #7.
We only reply like Old No. 7 for Jack and Cokes, and those aren’t reminiscent of standard Jack Daniel’s releases at all. Way more proof and age and complexity, which is kinda cool to see in a Jack Daniel’s product given how sweet and simple their core offerings are.
Coy Hill is actually meant to be ah parfum. That's right ... parfum. Highly concentrated. Soak a smidge on tha stopper and dab gently behind each ear ... dear. Special occasion only, so use sparingly. And only if you must drink .... do so very responsibly, preferably sitting down.
1. 2019 GTS - lucked out to be invited to a tasting where we could buy a bottle at close to retail. 2. New Riff Balboa - made friends with a distributor/spirit store owner. 3. Kings County Bottle Pick (64.8% that doesn't drink hot - it's amazing) - guy who did the pick is in the local bourbon club. Those are the three I'd pick out.
@@IdiosyncraticPat it's so good. A sweet & spicy rye with a bit more fruit than the normal rye. It's right up my ally.

Barrell seagrass is a blind beast. Don't think it's ever lost in a blind for us.
The new JD SB Rye doesn't even compare to the special release. It's very good for sure but the special release was just crazy good.
ECBP pirate bottle batch 10
JD 2020 Special Release SBBP rye
NBC M & J pick 'Houdini'

89 WT 101 8yr
MD Heritage series - Sherwood 14yr rye
RR 13
Old Carter batch 14 bourbon
Four Gate Kelvin collab llll
I am not paying £200 for a bottle as I can buy almost 4 bottles of new riff rye
Love store picks, belong to bourbon club at a west Tennessee store that does several store picks and club members automatically get a bottle
That’s odd about the rare breed. What batches do you consider the slump? I’ve only had a bunch of 2021 and February 2022. I haven’t tried anything newer than the Feb 2022.
The batches we’ve bought in the last two years are more thin and bright than the batches we bought back in 2020 and 2021.
@@stuffandwhiskey that’s interesting. I’ve blinded my 2021 and Feb 2022 stuff 3 times and all 3 times the 2022 won for me. Likely personal preference. The 2022 I do find a slight bit sweeter.
The LL/KB batch of Rare Breed, which was released in early February 2022, is one of the best but also different batches I've had over the years. It's more sweet oak, peanut butter, caramel, with some light fruitiness towards the back end. The majority of the older batches I've had were very cinnamon heavy, with some medicinal cherry and spicy. They definitely changed their flavor profile in the last several years.
@@johnspartan9383 I bunkered a fair bit of the LL/KB. I do have a case left of LL/JG and agree with the older stuff being more cinnamon.
@@chargerguy74 I bought a case of LL/KB while I could. I love that batch. I bought bottle of their next few batches and I agree with Josh that they aren't the same quality as the previous ones. Enjoy the ones you have bunkered Dude.
I bought a 2020 JD SBBP Rye that is still unopened. I'm a little scared. I call it the devil's liquor. Its 66.6%.
It’s so good! Kudos on the willpower to keep from opening that one for so long.
Ok, to be fair, I was saving it to drink with other people and a year ago I moved from AZ to TN before I had a chance to crack it. I don't really know anyone here and I'm about to move again (from Mem to Chatt). I'll just keep it until I can find some others to share it with. Cheers!
OF 100 Rye, Knob Creek barrel proof, Rare Breed bourbon and Rye, Rittenhouse Rye and WT 101.

I will never understand the notion that with alot of practice, you can enjoy 140 proof whiskey.
It’s like eating spicy food or riding intense rollercoasters. You gotta want to take the wild ride.
🤤 13th Colony rye is delicious😋 & this is coming from a person who does not like rye anything
Are you sure this isn't Josh's top 5? Erin says she likes lower proof all the time.
We’ve both been gravitating toward higher proof. One of us just likes the powerhouse pours and the other likes balanced pours, but we both prefer big flavor.
Love your show, but if I have to trade my children for a bottle of Booze, I'll have to pass...
Erin is gangsta, that's why you do the things you do!😂 🎤 Keep it up Erin, you're keeping Josh on his toes!
