On Day 10 of our trip to South Korea, we took a day trip from Jeonju to Buan. After doing some sightseeing, I tried sannakji for the first time, which is a Korean delicacy of live octopus, and had wonderful samgyetang for dinner.

00:42 Saemangeum Information Center - Our first stop of the day, once we arrived in Buan, was to visit the Saemangeum Information Center, which is a museum explaining the process of the huge land reclamation. We then headed over to the Buan Silkworm Town - 3,000 Won ($2.57), and walked around the museum and met some Korean students.
3:44 Namdosusan Restaurant (남도수산횟집) - For lunch we drove near to the ocean and went to a restaurant called Namdosusan Restaurant (남도수산횟집), well known for the sannakji, or the Korean delicacy of eating live octopus. Along with the octopus, we also each had a bowl of porridge, which was pretty good. The live octopus was very interesting, and it was simply sliced up and topped with sesame oil, and dipped into chili paste before each bite. Porridge - 10,000 per bowl ($8.58), Sannakji (산낙지) - 15,000 Won ($12.87), Live octopus - 15,000 Won ($12.87)
7:00 Naesosa Temple (내소사) - 3,000 Won ($2.57) - After lunch we drove over to Naesosa Temple (내소사), which is another wonderful nature park and temple in the Jeonbuk province of South Korea, and we walked around the temple and nature park for a while. Again, the beautiful nature is what really struck me as amazing.
9:56 Gyeoseong Samgyetang Restaurant (계성삼계탕) - For dinner we went to a restaurant back in Jeoju called Gyeoseong Samgyetang Restaurant (계성삼계탕) that specializes in samgyetang, which is a Korean ginseng chicken soup, and it happens to be a personal favorite of mine. The dish is made with a spring chicken, which is stuffed with rice and then cooked with ginseng. This was an amazing dinner to end the day with. Samgyetang - ginseng chicken soup, Total price - 13,000 Won ($11.16) per bowl of chicken soup.

Or else it is = 1/5
lmao 😂😂😂😂😂😂
We know when something isn't that great because of his face expressions LOL
I wish I could express my enjoyment of food like that. My reaction to good food is to eat till I hate myself, and start researching gyms near me.
"Wow" > 4.5 / 5
very accurate lol
As a silent viewer
for more then 2 years
i want to say - thanks.
Many thanks, Mark, for all you do.
travelling the world with you
is a wonderful and enriching experience
^_^
Really
2:45 korean child told others, 'when we don't understand his words, just laugh:)'
omg 😂 thanks for the translation
Lol that's too funny
hahahaha thats adorable
lmao
LOL!
LOL that Korean kid was like,
"If you can't hold a conversation with a foreigner you laugh it off like this and then you say what you know"
Smart kid 😂😂
mark and ying is the most adorable couple i've ever known, i like them
Korean food is another level. It's for SOUL.
Discovery channel should give you your own travel program! You're so good!
I don't know what your plans are as far as having kids and what not, but I always picture you guys with a child traveling with you, with a little backpack on and learning different cultures/trying different foods. Pretty cool 🙂
I thought they already had a child? He once showed his phone in one of his videos and there was a picture of a cute baby as the background 😊
+Quntah888 oh thats not his child
I never travelled with kids, but it's not as easy as it sounds. My cousin travelled here(Vancouver, BC) with her 9 month old son who weighs 25lbs and the hardest part is that she can't bring the stroller only a car seat, Carrier and enough Baby food and formula for two weeks. She had to buy a play pen and box of diapers that is only used for those two weeks! She wasn't able to go sightseeing since her son weighs a lot and no stroller. He only cries when he is tired and those two weeks here my cousin was grateful for any help since she lives in Texas and with only her husband and dog.
When they get more subscribers and starts earning more money, they will probably hire a cameraman. Ying might stay home if she needs to and bring the baby when its grown up a bit
Jacycat Wong difficult but definitely not impossible or a burden. I've done it myself
The Korea series is fantastic! All the food looks amazingly yummy! Can't wait to be there in the fall. Thanks Mark and Ying for sharing!
That was the most beautiful use of classical music I've seen on youtube.
Thanks Mark, you never fail to amaze us..
Seeing Korean food through your crazy eyes has made me appreciate it even more. Thank you!
Best channel on UA-cam - never a boring video
Mark: Let me take a bite (green pepper.. “Oh that’s not spicy at all”.
Rest of the world: Takes same bite ... Keeled over and died 😂
Everything about this video was great Mark. Loved all the food and sights.

You killed that chicken ginseng dish😆😆😂 it looks sooo good!
best South Korea vlogs i have seen so far are from you Mark, thanks!
actually san-nak-ji (=living octopus) is one of the hard core Korean sea food challenge for foreigners...and even some Korean cannot eat that😂😂 well done Mark, you are true expert. 👍
All this food looks Amazing. I was lived in Anjung-ri for 2 years when I was stationed in South Korea, and I sure miss the food
I'm enjoying all these Mark's Korea vlgo videos. Thanks bunch, Mark. That Sam kae tang though..
I really miss Korean Food...
Keep posting such videos!❤️ Best food vlogger ever 👌
Wow, the chicken soup look very delicious. thanks Mark!!!
I've never seen someone enjoy every single meal he ever had. He will literally tilt his head eating oxygen.
Don't be a spoiled sport. enjoying and telling us about the food is the point of his videos. If you don't get that then why are you watching?
goldktgal You watch those videos to see marc enjoy his food?? What? Everyone has his fetishes i guess. I watch them to discover food arround the world, because i cant do it by myself unfortunatly. Period. Which also means i would like a honest opinion, it would be way more interesting than a head tilt for a raw egg.
+KO well if you want a more critique of food around the world you might try Andrew Zimmern, Bizarre Foods or even more honest and sometimes aserbic Anthony Bourdain. I like all levels of Critique. Also a UA-cam couple called Eat Your Kimchi now called Eat Your Sushi since they just moved to Japan from Korea. Good luck. I love seeing food from around the world also and living vicariously through these adventurous people like Mark.
I love these Korea trip series!!
Thank you, Mark, for giving us people who want to try the delicious food from outside of the U.S. You allow my family to experience that extraordinary cuisine from my house! God bless you, sir! I love kimchi!
I feel like if someone slapped you, you'd still be smiling lol. You have a constant smiling face. It's just set on your face for good!

I am so tempting to try the live octopus 😋 Samgyetang looks delicious! So excited for next video Mark! Awesome! :)
That guide seesawing with you would be so confused if he ever visited Mexico. He'd constantly be wondering how everyone knows his name.
Am I only one who notice that he barely blinks his eyes?

Those kids were so cute!
Great video Mark! I really enjoyed this video I saw a lot of things that I have never seen in another Korean tour and food videos. I like how you describe the taste of the food when you're eating it and the difference in flavors from familiar Foods so I can understand the differences. the chicken soup looks amazing. I look forward to more videos.
I fell hungry and it was midnight already now!!! OMG
Great idea Mark to add the map and route. Adds more interest, and for some who have been to Korea it gives an idea of where one is at at. I love live octopus.
"Floating Squid Rhinoceros" 😀 is just cuttlefish. Loved everything about this video especially Ying and the wishbone! 👍
I'm glad Ying won that wish! (Sounds like a tongue twister!)
best reviewer ever! i like it.
the soup looks so delicious Mark, thanks for this video
I love watching Mark’s facial expressions.
That orchestral music (7:13) is Bach's Air on G String (Bach's third Orchestral Suite in D major). I'm Bach's greatest fan!
looking for this! thank you for the info!
It's my favourite classical piece. Beautiful.
I am a foody and I enjoy all your food videos.....stay healthy with rich all those rich food
mark didn't titl his head when eating the octopus
Very soothing music and views. Love to watch your videos and learn different cultures. I'm portuguese living in Canada.
if aliens ever come down to earth i have a feeling that's how they would eat us assuming they eat humans
Ssprmk. Mmr Man azz,z
I m usually not a samgyetang person, but I am craving for one really badly after watching this!

uniquepaul96 (• ε •)
+BTS,APINK,BIGBANG, EunjixTaejyung You're correct. They're all born in Busan where I lived for 8 years while working in Korea. The other person is trolling you.
I love samgyetang!!! ^^ Totally perfect during a rainy day!~ Great job with finishing the chicken and leaving nothing but bones!
LOL! Squid/rhinocerous? That was a cuttlefish....still great video..
Those school kids were really cute. Lots of squeals and giggles.
i dont even know if it really does taste good or not.. he has the same reaction to everything he eats.
Not true if you watch his video a lot then you'll know when it's good or not by his face expression. there's this one video that he said the food was horrible
lol no. as someone had previously said, when he closes his eyes and tilts his head 15 degrees then you know it's good. when it's not that good, he'll just nod his head and say "hmmmmm". lol
+JohnMike67 if he don't tilt his head and close his eyes that means it isn't truly good
it just means the flavor kind of surprised him
+JohnMike67 yes
+superfeng888888 you sound so upset lmao
Awesome video -- love how you combine travel and eating. But please release videos three times a week instead of two :)
do not watch his videos under empty stomach, it will torture you ....believe me
I really liked the coverage today Specially
the ginseng chicken soup.Keep it up Mark.
Korean people eat that ginseng soup to endure the hot humid summer and endure the cold winter!
I love how honest you are... tasting like the bottom of the rice cooler! Lol. I love it. Oh no to the clinging octopuses legs
Things that wriggle should'nt be eaten, but that chicken soup looked delicious
.love all yr videos Mark, am always hungry watching you eat 👍❤
jujubae in Korean is daechoo 대추.
That soup looks AMAZING mark!
mark go to north korea and have breakfast with kim jong un
PHOTOZ HD 😂😂😂😂
Bro live octopus wow I never thought people eat live octopus but the chicken soup was nice stay happy and blessed
They eat whole live octopus too. They're small ones though. Gotta be careful eating them though because if you don't chew correctly, the tentacles will get stuck in your throat and you can die from choking. People actually have 😕
+CrazyNLove wow very interesting
+MIMI ESQUIVEZ Hi What do you find interesting
***** not talking about the chopped ones. There are people that eat them whole. They are still alive.
+CrazyNLove youre talking about japan.. they wrap the octopus around the chopsticks and eat it whole... but you need to be careful because someone died eating it... you need to chew it... if you dont like it spit it out dont swallow it or else the octopus will stay on your throat
I don't understand why anyone would give you a thumbs-down!🤔🤔Haters!!!!
you know.... vegans did
sometimes I wonder why youtube even has a "thumbs down" button. I mean if you like it, you "like it" if not.. what purpose does the dislike button serve anyway?? LOL
MsShakey78 it’s the live Octopus for me.
02:27 - 03:30 that silk-worm's life flashed before his eyes, he thought he would be eaten (and so did I) 😂
when we dont under stand his words just laugh!!!!!!!!!
The kids at the Museum made this an even better than normal video!
Anybody else is here to watch him eating and moving the neck?
Hahahaha!
+Shadowlady babe, meee. and the food efcourse
his voice is soooo soothing 😍
what do these Swastika (Nazi symbols) mean on the map?
Budda temples... Has nothing to do with Nazi sign
Read about i it on Wikipedia. I also wondered about that sometime when I was in Japan but it has nothing to do with nazis he he
thanks for the quick info guys, it was so weird. I wonder...why did Nazis choose that symbol?
Brian Y. someone stole your lunch at work buddy?
+Brian Y. Calm down man.
The way you were eating rice at 04:33 ...was mouth watering...😂.👍👌
that made me sick that they are filling in that coastal area with man made land with industries, entertainment, and agricultural. do you know how much chemicals and pesticides are going to run off into that water just from the agriculture alone. not to mention all the other crap that will run off from the other sites.
Sara Miller shut it ya vegan!
Sara Miller Koreans don't use pesticide just chill and enjoy.
let the dumb fish heads destroy their own nature.
you mean just like every other country in this world. you're misinformed
*Another super thumbs up Mark & Ying!*
I liked almost all of the food trip videos..... but this type of octopus is just disgusting ( I think).....
Yeah, slimy _and_ chewy doesn't really do it for me.
Its dellisous
But in korea many peple cant it that
If Mark closes his eyes and cracks his head wide open on the table you know the food is pretty damn good.
Eww why eat a raw octopus? Looks disgusting
I truly enjoy watching your videos, Mark.
Your are wonderful and the family also!
That chicken soup was awsum👍🐥😋😋
