John Wick 4 is the best action/gun play film ive ever seen. The amount of work that must have gone into that film is probably ridiculous. I've gone to the cinema and watched it 17 times, ive never done that before.
I've known of Marie's version for years, as soon as I heard the intro in the movie, I thought to myself "If this is Marie, this goes from good action romp to f'n MASTERPIECE." And so it was.
From France... Only watch the 4th of the franchise cause I thought it was similar to fast and furious (basic action movie, barebone plot, all about the spectacle) boy was I wrong... And even though the radio lady was speaking french, the word about the man dressed all black, paint him red sparked this music in my heart just a beat before it came.
What? JW4 made different version for France? In my country, radio lady speak English, and the song is English, but "Paint it Red". Paris radio lady speak English makes me really upset.
I haven't seen the movie yet, I will in the far future, but this song perfectly fits John Wick whenever he fights since the song is like a fight song anytime I hear it.

I was watching with a friend yesterday. When big lips says on radio time to paint our black man red, I told my friend "She's totally gonna play Paint it Black." Then I hear the first couple of notes and I tell my friend: Oh shit! It's the French one sung by a woman! And they're in Paris, so that makes sense. So I paused the film and played my MP3 of the song but noticed the guitar playing is slightly different. I said huh that's odd, because it's clearly played in the same style. But mark my words! It's gonna be a woman singing the song in French! (And it was) I figure because the recording of the original is kind of bad and her voice is just too damn shrill, they produced a cover of the cover for the film. Luckily this gives them power over the music to make it fit more with the movie, and if you listen, at times it sounds very movie-esque. So I don't think it's just a different recording of the song by the same band. It sounds too modern and crisp.
like i swear you tube just knows what im thinking, ive been fucking sitting around watching videos and playing games all day bc i had one off work, i was thinking earlier about this song when i watched a behind the scenes for JW4 and now its just here first on recommended, weird..

It reminded me of the badassery in Westworld episode 1 where they used this music and John Wick 4 intepretted it well into the film too.
