The whole movie was a totally wholesome experience to watch in theaters, that is the reason why John Wick 4 it's the best action movie of the last 10 years
The reason why the bystanders never reacted, is actually a fourth wall joke. The dancers in the clubs represent the audience's view of the rampage. In the first movie, realistically, they ran like Hell. I'm sure the director was expecting the same horrified reaction in the theaters. Now we're so desensitized, that it doesn't make us flinch. Much like the audience, the world of John Wick got more used to Wick's killing spree it's like bad weather again.
I love how the music keeps previous themes, but gets better layers and just gets darker and harder. I'd give anything to go to a club to hear this or go to one of Le Castle Vanias concerts.
I love the motif of the John Wick 1 soundtrack's "LED Spirals" and John wick 2's "John Wick Mode" as it shows that whilst 4 is John fighting to escape his life as a killer he is forced back into it. Especially with the top-down sequence featuring "Shots Fired" from JW1 showing the cyclical nature of John Wick
The second I heard Scott Adkins was playing him, my first thought was "Is he gonna fight in the Fat Suit?" Needless to say I wasn't disappointed. That said, if you want a real example of a fat guy doing fluid martial arts, watch Beverly Hills Ninja, Farley did all the fight stunts himself.
Most sequels are garbage very few pull it off well, but John Wick series blew it away. I'll be able to rewatch these as much as classics like Rambo or the MIA Chuck Norris flicks from the 80s
