    I got my MIDDLE SPLITS!! After 6 months....ive watched hundreds of videos i was centimeters off the ground and after watching this video I got them...IM SO HAPPY thank you

    I am so disappointed in myself for losing my middle splits, I could literally slide into them as a child, they were the first splits I got.

      4:45 is the most I can split. Even as of right now it's still as far as I can go down in a center split. It's close to all the way down, but it's not enough to roll from laying position on stomach to sitting up to laying back down the other way on back while in a split. If you can do that then you know for sure it's a full center split.
      "They were the first splits I got." Yeah, center is easier for me also. But, most people seem to be able to do a regular front split easier than a center split.

    I have never been able to do splits, I would try and try and just give up, but then I wanted to learn and push myself. I watched so many videos none of them helped they were just to serious and stuff, but then I came across your video and now I can do the splits and a bonus is a backbends thank you erica lin 🥰

    i have been trying to get my middle splits for a while and i have been stretching nonstop for the past two weeks. in that time i had made very little progress. after i tried this i saw great improvement 😁 i was so happy!❤️😆thank you so much

    I danced for 14 years and had to stop a few years back due to my career kicking off. Now I’m getting back into it and I definitely didn’t see myself having to UA-cam how to do the splits! Haha. Luckily for me I found your video! You’ve got a lot of talent, I hope you stick with it for good!

      Erica Lin I have training in ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary. Right now I’m back in ballet and I’m taking any extra fun dance classes I can find! When I finish my military enlistment I plan on going back to dance full time and being an instructor. :)

      Hey @Rosemary, how is your progress going? I just did for the 3rd time and only once a week because my newly explored muscles hurt :D . I'm a super unflexible 30+ male guy. Do you do it really every day or is it better to just wait a few days so the muscles can regenerate a little?

      Oh and my progress.. I went from around 90degrees "wide stance" to ~140 degrees, so that session is totally working for me! Awesome!

    Thanks so much for making another video! I have a video request. Can you please make a video on how to become a (better) flyer? I know you already made one, but that was back in 2012. I'm training to become a flyer, and I just need to get better at the basic stretches, like the heel stretch, scorpion, toe touch, etc. Thanks so much!

    Finally I found someone who gives out stretches with standing or bending , ima big chested girl and it’s hard doing crunches and etc , stretches that include picking your upper body up makes me cry 😭

    For people watching the video rn I did this without stretching and I wasn’t all the way down but I was WAYYY closer and this was me just doing it once without stretching before I will continue to do this daily and I should get my middle split maybe in a week I’ll check back here and write how long it took me to get my middle split

      I forgot to reply but I got my middle split after a week of doing this bc i really pushed myself and these stretches helped a lot to prepare my muscles

    Hey Erica,
    I wonder if you still read posts for this old vid. I'm a 30+ unflexible man with a max of 90degrees wide stance. These are the input parameters :D I did the above method in about half an hour, I almost died.. Twice :D at the end, I went down so deep I couldn't believe it! Amazing!
    The day after the whole area around my hips was burning, I found some new muscles I guess.
    My question is, what's the ideal frequency of the above method? Shall I let the muscles rest for a few days? Or is it better to do daily?

      I’m so glad I’ve helped you make such great improvement! I usually recommend keeping these exercises up daily, or every other day, depending on your goal....It works well as a regular routine!

    question. when i’m doing the wide stance then slowly going down, my hips hurt. what is wrong and what can i do to correct it?

      What part of the hips hurt? It’s normal to feel a bit of a stretch when doing the wide stance.

      Erica Lin the back part of the hips. they are at the sides closer to the back but it’s the joints that hurt i guess
