This abysmal team is entirely on Lou. All he did in the off season was add Tsyplakov & Duclair (good moves but not enough) and and a new assistant coach who can't save the PK. Speaking of special teams, why the hell is MacLean still behind the bench? Our PP is atrocious! Lou's given out bad contracts to the wrong players who are consistently inconsistent except for the goaltending. He needs to go. I seriously hope he gets fired this season. This team is almost as worse as the Fisherman era days. I've always supported him and was excited when he was first hired. He brought in Trotz and made some good changes. But ever since that last eastern conference finals appearance, he has really done nothing to help this roster. Trotz mysteriously gets fired for missing the playoffs after all he did. Then Lambert was hired which was a huge mistake, and now Roy. It can't always be the coach. Horvat was a complete waste of a 1st round pick and Pageau is not worth his salary among others. They should have kept Eberle and Leddy. Trouble is, no one wants to play on Long Island. The biggest sign that something's wrong with this team is every time someone goes down, we fall apart because of lack of depth. That's how fragile we are as a club. It's so bad, the AHL and ECHL teams are among the worst in their leagues and have been for years. That doesn't say a lot about our draft/management team. I don't blame Roy at all either. He's doing the best he can with this awful injury prone team. Please fire Lou! It's time. It's time to rebuild this team with a GM who isn't in a rush and knows what he's doing. Fire sale time! Total liquidation for assets. It's really sad because I live in a state where I can watch the Lightning and Panthers play lights out hockey and every time I ask myself "Why can't the Islanders dominate like this?" Because of Lou, that's who...
Spot on VanHelsing. It is ultimately on Lou and if he continues to refuse to retool or rebuild, he has to go. It's honestly past time. That means its up to ownership to make the move. Will they? The longer they wait, the worse it's going to get. Thanks for the comment and LGI
Because they played like this with Trotz at the end and Lambert. That tells me the players are the problem. Not saying Roy is the greatest, but he isn’t the problem. It’s the GM.
Hahaha that’s why seats were selling off 2$ a seat, best thing as a team is to Tank get the kid from Long Island on the team he’ll be early 1st round, great show thanks Gil, redundant it’s constantly the same thing. Hopefully the owners get together and relieve Lou Lamarillo of his job.
That has to be the next move, Raymond. If you saw Lou during the game on TV, he looked like he knew his time was running out. Thanks for the comment and LGI. Have a great wekeend.
Thanks again for another great show, Gil. As frustrating as it is to watch the Islanders right now, I can imagine how it must feel to cover them. Let's hope they get their act together soon!
I hope they get better soon. It may take a change at GM, but one step at a time. Thanks for the comment and the kind words, GreySawyer. Greatly appreciated. LGI
NO EFFORT AT ALL!!!!!! Terrible, embarrassing. 60 minute hockey doesn't exist on L.I. I feel for Sorokin, it gets demoralizing when you have to stand on your head every single night with little to no help. Please don't start with the injury talk, EVERY team has them, that creates opportunities for other players to step up. Bring back the ice girls, we need em.
For some reason the Seattle Freakin Kraken has the Isles number. Just like the Wings this year only with the expansion team I think the Isles have ONE WIN in their history over this mid ass team.
LOL. I hear you, Ian. I think Sorokin will get frustrated. He needs to be nearly perfect every night and even that is often not good enough. The injuries are no excuse for a lack of effort and that's what we saw in the first two periods yesterday. Thanks for the comment and LGI.
They have struggled against Seattle, anticensorshipsociety and it's tough to say why. Right now, this team is struggling against everybody. Thanks for the comment and LGI
I know I'm going to catch flack for this but I wanna see Lou relieved of his duties but instead of Roy moving to Gm I'd like to see somebody skilled with knowing how to navigate the salary cap while being a good judge of skill unlike Lou. I know a new Gm won't want to keep coaches from the previous guy so with that being said I'd like to see Joel Quenville return to the league as our Head coach along with Bringing in Luke Richardson as an asst coach and also Gerard Gallant as the associate coach and I'd even like to see a new goalie coach but not sure who but I think Curtis Joseph would be good if he was interested. I just think it's time for a complete re-do and then we can work on fixing this roster starting with trading our UFA's in Nelson and Dobson and I'd like to keep Palmieri because he has shown signs of being a gamer. I know it's a pipe dream lol.
The organization stinks from the head down. NHL supposedly has the best hockey players in the world. Unfortunately...none of them are on the Islanders. They're not interested as a whole. It's a shame.
It is obvious to everyone that their ownership does not care at all about this team, and it's evidenced by Lou still being GM. Things will not change until he goes
Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL in every sense of the word. The only good thing that came out of this was that they weren't shut out. They made Seattle's goalie look like a Vezina Trophy winner. I wouldn't be surprised if Patrick Roy gave them heat and lots of it, too. He put Pierre Engvall on the 2nd line. The Islanders looked like ****, AND THEY KNEW IT. I'm not going there when it comes to injuries, but if they rush the injured players back, especially Duke and Barzy, and they have a relapse, they'll be finished for the rest of the season. The higher-ups should tell Lou Lamoriello this EITHER YOU BRING IN SOME NEW, YOUNG, AND FASTER BLOOD, OR YOU WILL LONGER ON THE NY ISLANDERS PAYROLL. Adam Pellach practiced with the team. They host Carolina tomorrow tomorrow, and it's a Metro game. They play at Ottawa on Sunday, and it's a Conference game. HAPPY 🎂, KEVIN HALLER. He won a Stanley Cup while with Montreal. Gil, before I go, 2 things, 1. I hope you're feeling better, and 2. You're right about something else. At the rate the Islanders are going, I'll be 👀 a lot of nostalgia Islander games. Case in point, game 1 of the 1981 preliminary round between the Islanders and The 🍁. The sting never faded from 1978, they had blood in their 👀. The Dynamic Duo did their thing, and last but not least, Jiggs and Eddie Westfall worked their 1st playoff game together, and of course, they did a fine job. Now #18 who was there when The Isles got bounced, said that the Maple 🍁 were making mistakes, and the Islanders were like vultures ready to pick them clean. Now, LET'S GO ISLANDERS.
Yeah, I fear we'll both be watching a lot of older games later this season. It's tough to watch the way this team is playing. The lack of heart and effort in the first 40 minutes was a big disappointment. Thanks for the comment, Cindy. Have a great weekend and LGI
@LockedOnIslanders love the show. I met Ledecky the first time the Isles played the Knights in Vegas. Had a lengthy discussion. He seems to understand the game. He cannot possibly think what's happening is ok.
I think the problem goes beyond coaching. They didn't respond to Lane Lambert either. If I had to choose between replacing Roy or replacing Lou, I'd move on from Lou, but both may be gone if things don't get better. Thanks for the comment, Moose7454. LGI
Complete no show, Hopefully they will rebound against a very good Canes team which seem to have our number. Have a nice weekend Gil and congrats on the 2K subscriber mark. Much deserved for the hard work you put into this channel. LGI
Thanks, Darrell. I am happy to finally get to 2,000. And thanks for everyone who subscribes. I hope they show up this weekend. A lack of effort is totally unacceptable. Thanks for the comment, Darrell and LGI.
This team has checked out … 14 is lost … 8 and 24 are a mess … 18 is useless … is anyone occupying the 44, 26 and 53 jerseys? Our D corps is porous… 28 looks spent … done
It wasn't pretty out there. The lack of effort in the first 40 minutes just isn't acceptable and as you pointed out, gallegorider, few players are living up to their potential. Thanks for the comment. Hope it gets a bit better when everybody's healthy, but they also struggled before the injuries. LGI
Good morning team! Gil, I don't really know what to say. The team is playing with such heavy legs, and it's obvious. You're right, their play is totally unacceptable. We play sub .500 teams where we can get to OT, but can't finish so we get the loser point. We play teams above .500 and we're not in the game at all. Except for a few brief bursts of potential offense, we have nothing going for us except our goalies. Those bursts are rare and far between, but it doesn't matter because we can't finish either. Something's got to give. Looking forward to Barzy and Anthony's return. Let's see what kind of team we have once they're back. I'm willing to go through these struggles until we find out for sure. We have the Canes and Sens, back to back. Oh, this should really be fun. Gil, thanks again for what you do. Everyone, have a great day and wonderful weekend! Looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!
Thanks Tony. I appreciate the kind words. I hope the Isles do play better once healthy. Unfortunately, they struggled to score goals even when everybody was healthy earlier in the season. I hope we see some improvement. Thanks for the comment, Tony and have a great weekend. LGI
Lou keeps doubling down on his veteran core with their NTC and Max contracts saying they can win. This is what makes this so frustrating . A veteran core should not come out as flat as they do as often as they do and implode as often as they do in the 3rd period I firmly believe the issue is a combination of psychological, being old and CULTURE problem We ALL have seen the video of Ovechkin yelling at his teammate saying turn the puck over again and I will kill you Granted excessive However they need some new blood who has cred in the locker room meaning 60+ points who literally will be yelling and cursing out the team Enough is enough If the islanders did this when roy was playing in Montreal after a loss he woukd have gone berserk I know bc lived in Montreal for 5 years
For sure Roy would have blown his stack in Montreal. If there's a culture problem, they need to change the roster. But Lou won't trade away "his guys." He could have had a first round pick for Pageau at the trade deadline according to many rumors, but turned it down. He'll never get that kind of offer again. Change has to come. That means no more Lou so it's up to ownership to step up and do that. Thanks for the comment, alexyaybar. Spot on. LGI
Hi Gil. Sorry fell asleep esrly lately . Lol you guys saying Roy is gone ?? Im looking at you ronald and Andre .come on man .wtf do expect him to do woth this joke roster .stop being typical fans. He s a blessing and will be g.m. like i said on my bday when we hired him .He was brought here to replace Louzer THANK GOD
Empire, I don't think Roy is necessarily gone. I have a hard time imagining that Lou hires another coach. But will ownership move on from Lou, which probably should have happened a year or two ago? I would not mind if Roy took over for Lou, but then he's not going to coach anymore, probably have to hire someone to take over. Thanks for the comment and LGI
@LockedOnIslanders yeah Gil I hear ya... but the owners MUST be done with Lou ... Lou brings NOTHING to today's Hockey game .... have a great weekend Gil and all
you forgot about Engel on the penalty kill Gil lol......won't be seeing him again...bring up the kids, sell everyone we can. anyone who wont waive their no trades can be sent to play in Bridgeport. this is jersey 2.0,...we are going to be bad with or without Loyu for awhile....worst cap situation in the league....what's roy gonna do as gm either...we ar e gonna have to eat it for a few years
Yeah, Engvall on the PK is not a good idea let alone to do it. It's time to make changes but Lou won't do it. It's up to ownership now to make a GM change. Will they? Thanks for the comment, foleydvm. LGI
Gm Gil. I tried watching the game on demand last night but after 1 period found it entirely unwatchable. This was a home game. Roy has lost this team. There is no argument to be made to refute this. I like Roy far more than usual suspects on this team. this team is one of the worst in the league, period. Its time some of these players are made examples of either with release or made available for assignment to Bridgeport.
Roy may be losing the locker room. The problem may also be that this team just isn't built to play his system and there's a disconnect as a result. I'm not sure Lou and Roy can co-exist too much longer. Changes need to come to this organization and now, that's on ownership. Thanks for the comment, Eric. LGI.
Lots of empty seats although they announced more than 14,000 fans. Maybe that's tickets sold but boy that's a lot of no shows. Thanks for the comment, Fran. LGI
HA HA isles tried a different game with same outcome-a big L. Isles fall behind 4-0 yet try to mount comeback at 4-2 then realize this offense sucks and isn't capable of a 4 g comeback. On the bright side or predictable side pk shines again giving up 2 more g's. pk should be 32nd any game now. Just face it 30 was horrible. When 30 is horrible isles have NO FKN CHANCE to W. Isles sooo not a playoff team now last in division 2 pts. out of east cellar. 7 loser pts. keeping isles out of east cellar. Hopefully the clock is now ticking on louzer-TICK TICK TICK...
I don’t think Sorokin was horrible at all. In fact we’re lucky it was only 4-0 at the end of the second. It easily could have been 7 or 8. First two goals on deflections. The second two on screens. You know because we don’t clear the front of the net and just let the other teams camp out right in front. SMH It’s been like that for years, if we don’t win the goalie battle pretty good guess we lost.
@@robertmarschall3169yep. just like + - save % sometimes doesn't tell the whole tale. isles need perfection from goalies for sure. only way louzer can win since actual talent and goal scoring don't count.
Ownership has to wake up and do something with Lou. I don't understand why they haven't sat him down and said, either you retool or rebuild or you retire. Thanks for the comment, Steven. LGI
I don't think the goals were all on Sorokin, not even close. But if he gives up 2 goals, the team is at best going to get a loser point because they can't score. Thanks for the comment Robert. LGI
I don't watch anymore, I'm ok watching as long as they are working hard and showing some heart at least if they lose I can say " well it was a good game" but they are not even fun to watch anymore, just boring uninspired hockey. With a bunch of crappy contacts that last forever. Sad
It is sad and there are too many fans who are not watching and not going to the games. That will only get worse the longer this team stays together. Thanks for the comment, GM-ri4ww. LGI
We do, Mikeybombers2529 and there's a reason for it. We don't draft and develop well and we can't sign big ticket free agents. So, Lou acquires players via trade and then overpays for players he's traded for to keep them and sign them to long extensions with NTCs to get them to sign. It's a mess. Thanks for the comment and LGI
This team is a joke. Do the owners even care ? Half empty UBS Arena should say it all. Time for Lou to go. The new GM needs to trade everyone but Sorokin and start over. I would never give Dobson a long term deal. Vastly overrated. Horvat sure looks like he is just going through the motions. Get as many high picks and prospects as you can get.
They need to get younger, faster and more skilled and to do that, they need to jettison some of these bad contracts and older players. I agree, Thomas, but Lou won't do it. So it's time to move on from Lou. Ultimately, that's up to ownership. Thanks for the comment and LGI
He's the least of this team's problems right now, Dave, but the way things are going, I think anybody on this roster is fair game for the right price. Thanks for the comment and LGI
Total embarrassing break down. They've hit bottom. It's becoming the joke of the league. Make Roy Gm. Go after Quinville. Draft what you can. Trade whoever you have to. Any of them!
Changes are definitely needed and it's up to ownership now to make the necessary move. We'll see what happens but the longer they wait, the worse it's going to get. Thanks for the comment, Joseph. LGI

I think Sorokin has been inconsistent. He is not the goalie he was 2 years ago.He played loudly. Hogberg should get a start Saturday. Let's see if he can play better then Sorokin
This abysmal team is entirely on Lou. All he did in the off season was add Tsyplakov & Duclair (good moves but not enough) and and a new assistant coach who can't save the PK. right on man. louzer must go NOW. 5 year plus healing re-build period.
So how sure are you really that Patrick is not the problem here besides the inconsistency and soft play of the team.
Spot on VanHelsing. It is ultimately on Lou and if he continues to refuse to retool or rebuild, he has to go. It's honestly past time. That means its up to ownership to make the move. Will they? The longer they wait, the worse it's going to get. Thanks for the comment and LGI

LGI.
Turned it off when it went 2-0. Did you see how many empty seats there were? Crazy... Thought I was watching the Bridgeport Islanders🥲
I was there, section 312 had 6 people... Brutal!!!!!
Lots of empty seats although they announced more than 14,000 fans. Maybe that's tickets sold but boy that's a lot of no shows. Thanks for the comment, Fran. LGI
Wow, that is brutal. Going to get worse if things don't get better. Thanks for the comment, Chris.
SMH
It’s been like that for years, if we don’t win the goalie battle pretty good guess we lost.
LGI
Sorokin had a bad night it happens I just hope getting our injured guys back is gonna help but will it be too late
I hope it won't be too late, but we'll see, Cory. Lots of questions to be answered. Thanks for the comment. LGI
I also would keep Tsyplakov who has looked good.
He does look good, Thomas. He's worth keeping. Thanks for the comment and LGI
Gerald Gallant!!!
Hmmm....Thanks for the comment, Afeeling.
LGI
We over pay for everything peelch pulick barzal horvat lee jg palms egg walhsrorm Mayfield
SIROKIN NEEDS TO BE TRADED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LGI
This team has checked out … 14 is lost … 8 and 24 are a mess … 18 is useless … is anyone occupying the 44, 26 and 53 jerseys? Our D corps is porous… 28 looks spent … done
@@gallegorider149 big joke
They aren't good enough to check out and win very often. Obviously this is a big problem. Thanks for the comment, gallegorider149. LGI
I think Sorokin has been inconsistent. He is not the goalie he was 2 years ago.He played loudly. Hogberg should get a start Saturday. Let's see if he can play better then Sorokin
Lou needs to go!!!!!😡
