Thank you for making such a detailed video of the interior, it can be difficult to get a sense of what the car looks like from pictures alone. Keep doing what you're doing for those of us that appreciate detail.
I love this guy! I learned a lot of great tricks to use on my beautiful Honda Civic hatchback. His enthusiasm for the car is a riot. I feel the same way about this terrific car.
Im glad this person was able to note the main details and features that us the viewers are looking to know about the car being reviewed. I watched another video about this same car, and the viewers in the comments where complaining that the car did not seem to have proper features for “blind spots” since is a hatchback but it does, the person was just not good at stating such features. Appreciate the decent review !
I just bought mine 2018 Civic hatchback EX-T. I also tried Mazda 3 Hatch back, after testing both cars, I went for the Civic. Civic hatchback has Good resale value... I still like Mazda 3 Hatch back over many other cars..
Great video. I've been eyeing this model for a couple of weeks now and will probably head over to my local dealership tomorrow to spend some one on one time with it. Really appreciated how thorough you were when going through all the tech and features. Feel like you answered some questions I hadn't even thought to ask yet, haha. Thanks.
Thanks, Tullius! We appreciate that very much. Check out our playlist for our other videos if you're interested to see more. You may like the Honda Ridgeline episode. (Link to playlist in this video description.) THANKS AGAIN!
I have been debating between 2 different cars and after watching this video you really helped me make up my mind. Hopefully by the end of summer I will own this exact model and color 😍 thank you for a great video!
The hatchback looks sooooooooo much better! I know americans in general prefer coupes or sedans, but this particular one is the best looking of the 2017 civics. I wish they bring the Type R soon
3 biggest thing to me that they should have added. 1) physical volume knob 2) CD player (I still keep my CDs) 3) AUX port for instant play for my passengers
it needs blind spot warning, and a power hatch back. even the new Kia forte has a option of standing behind the trunk for 3 seconds, then opens automatically.
Looks cool, bought the 2016 sedan February. Lets just say after the second 2016 civic, I now drive a Corolla. Just watching him do the interior gives me bad memories of both cars.
First one had an emissions problem an i Drove it 5 days out of the three months of owning. Second car, after many warnings of charging system problems, battery problems, breaking system problem, ABS problems, entertainment issues, and It finally died on me, I took it to the toyota dealer across the street and got a 2014Toyota S plus, which in my opinion was a huge step up. two day ago I got a safty recall for both cars for the breaks, and a message from the dealer saying that there should be a software recall coming out soon.
Pretty detailed video but I feel as if the audio system has been overlooked and failed to mention that it has a lot of way to listen to music (ipod, AM/FM, apple/android connection). Other than that great video and very detailed video and I found it pretty humorous, keep it up!
I would like a review on the sport model when you get it. I think it looks better with the centre exhaust and the sportier alloy wheels. Good review though.
Just talked with one of our salesmen this morning. He said it might be a little bit before we get a Sport model in stock. But we will be doing some more videos with an EX-L Navi early next week. (And we'll be sure to do a review of the Sport when we do get one in stock!) THANKS!
hello, what can you tell me about the economy of the car?how many lt or mpg take in 100 km?did you see the average consuption of the car?general speaking.thank you!
So does cargo space has 1 piece of 12V socket inside at least as i could not see ??? And also advise if above car 174 HP and/or 184 HP which one is correct everyone says different thing in each video records unfortunaltely....
i have some questions.... can i change the audio system with 12 speakers in the ex version (12 speakers are provided in sport touring model)...can i change my 16" alloy to 18" alloy like in sport touring.....is ex available with manual ????..... pls answer....i will be buying the honda civic hatchback !!!!
i want know quik when will launch in india civik hatch back and honda city facelift 2017 tell me as possible as soon iam going to make planing for new car so i can take decision by.... vipul lunagaria
When is the manual transmission going to be available in the 5 dr hatchback? NOT a fan of these electronic e brakes.....They are NOT useful in a true emergency like the normal handle style mechanical brake is...NOT just Honda but Subaru and others...Nice to see it has a REAL space saver spare tire..
watershed44 probably, either way im going to avoid the manuals this generation....they have a horrible rev hang, picking up an Automatic EX this weekend
Silvester Stillstoned You realize that the rev hang is due to emissions control, but it can be easily remedied with a ECU flash, that can be undone without physically modifying any parts on the car, and it can be reversed just as easily if you need to have emissions testing done. Not expensive either.
The main camera used is a 4K camera, a Sony FDR-AX33. There's also a couple shots in there with a Panasonic HDC-TM900 that we used for a few alternate angles. But the majority of the video is the Sony.
Sitting in the back seat of a 2016 Civic 4D EX as I write this! Headroom is about the same, I'm 6'3" and I'm comfortable. Hair is tickling the roof just the same as the Hatchback.
This car starting from 18.500 euro in Europe basic with 1.0 engine, since Seat Leon,Vw Golf or Renault Megane are much cheaper, and most performant than this car. No doubt will dissappear from our market as Honda Accord did already. Good job man, greetings from Romania 👍
Went to go check it out again for you. This EX has the tether hooks in the rear seats on the driver and passenger sides, no middle. And the backs of the driver and passenger sides each have an anchor tether. Plenty of room, not sure of your specific baby seat, but I know my kid would fit back there beautifully.
Thanks jgmaio! Keep an eye open for our other series called "Ride Along". In that series of videos a Honda Product Specialist reviews the car, performance and features. It gives a more in depth perspective of the vehicle. We are scheduled to shoot it this week!
Great review, thank you! Once this car arrives in the EU (ironically it's made in the U.K. but it'll be introduced after America) I'll compare it with the HR-V, the other Honda I'm considering :)
Stephanie garcia Am loving the Tahoe over the Ford Explorer sorry still go for Semi truck...comparing the 2 then going for something completely different makes zero sense.
Stephanie garcia Clearly my comment went right over your head. Plus what the hell does "they don't change the mode of the car they change just the lights" even mean?
Every car maker in the world does a face lift, more radical changes are introduced in model's next generation, not in the middle of production life cycle.
I would have got this if (in the sport touring moder) it had a manual or a geared auto. Cvt does not belong on a performance oriented civic and cvt aren't even good for anything other then Feul economy, should have put an actual auto. The 2nd thing is lack of blind spot monitoring, lanewatch isn't as nice as it is more distracting and only covers the right side. So still the mazda3 beats this civic still just not in trunk space.
You might want to check out our Civic Si or Civic Type R for manual transmission and a fun, sporty drive. Check out our video here: ua-cam.com/video/9OGzpZ2hIiE/v-deo.html
Civic is not quiet at all..went for a test drive in sedan version..out to the main road and drive at 50km/h i can hear wind and tyre noise. i prefer the quietness of the latest elantra
Honda will offer what the customers want? TRY GETTING ANY HONDA IN A MANUAL forget it . AND when you go to the dealership and say you want a manual they offer it on Honda.com they say we don't order manuals no one wants them.
We did two videos yesterday, coincidentally BOTH manual transmission! Look for those videos later this week, a 2017 Honda Fit and a 2016 Honda Accord. If you'd like to pass along your contact information, I can have one of our sales specialists reach out to you.
Calmed down, detailed and informative review. Except for one thing. After 14+minutes we still don't know much about how the engine performs, nor how the CVT gearbox react :-(
Thanks for watching, MrVoayer! Our First Gear series is much more like unboxing videos, looking more at the exterior and interior details. In our newer videos, we've added a little more of the engine specs into the mix, though we intentionally keep things at a car shopper perspective. Be sure to check out our other videos, specifically our Smail Ride Along series which is conducted by a salesperson and is much more technical. We did a Civic Hatchback one: ua-cam.com/video/t0fZh53CyAE/v-deo.html
Next time sit on the rear seats and show people how much space is available for the rear passenger . It's far more important than showing a light above the rear passenger.
Thanks for watching, Dex Won. In many of my other videos, I normally do jump back there. Another commenter asked a question about the rear seat head room compared to the sedan, so I went back down and sat in each to compare. They were the same. I'm about 6'3" and fit comfortably and had plenty of legroom where the seats were positioned. My hair, which is spikier than most, just tickled the top of the roof.
Personally i don't like the shape of the 10th gen civic especially the front it looks too dumpy and big. The interior and features are superb, but the engines are abit odd, they should have stuck with the 1.4 & 1.8 litre v-tecs and turbo's on civics is a bad idea i think. The 8th gen civic is one of the best cars ever made i cannot fault it and still own the same one after 10 years with nothing going wrong with it at all in all that time. The early 9th gen was dumpy looking also but with the later face lift and changed rear end they totally transformed it into a fantastic looking car. So i feel they quickly need facelift it again just like they did with the early 9th gen civic because this is not going to sell in the same numbers as the previous model looking like this.
I was expecting a unbiased true review but this was simply a sales pitch for the new Honda. A true review should have mentioned the good and the bad. No car is perfect.
I got approved for my 2017 hatchback Ex. picking mine up in February. best Christmas gift ever
Thank you for making such a detailed video of the interior, it can be difficult to get a sense of what the car looks like from pictures alone. Keep doing what you're doing for those of us that appreciate detail.
Thank you, Conner Atnip!!! I appreciate your kind words and encouragement!

I just bought this exact model and really love it. Very Sporty and fun to drive. Has plenty of room for what I need.
Sherry Rife that's awesome!
i want to know from u fi this buy or not
Yes I agree, great car.
how is it's performance Mam....
I love this guy! I learned a lot of great tricks to use on my beautiful Honda Civic hatchback. His enthusiasm for the car is a riot. I feel the same way about this terrific car.
I like how he goes in actual detail of the car unlike most channels definitely subscribing to him
This is the best looking Civic Hatch I've seen! That color combo is beautiful!
Nice review
So much details, spoke clearly and slow
Keep good work

nice review!
Thank you Your Honda Man! We really appreciate the feedback.

This was both informative as well as entertaining. Thanks
Thanks.
We appreciate hearing this, JagEagleAC3! Thank you!!!
Just bought this same car, but the EX-L Nav version. As this video points out, lots of nice touches throughout the car.
best overview of this car I've seen yet
Thanks, Tullius! We appreciate that very much. Check out our playlist for our other videos if you're interested to see more. You may like the Honda Ridgeline episode. (Link to playlist in this video description.) THANKS AGAIN!
the little details, like wire holders was very good compared to other reviews.
I have been debating between 2 different cars and after watching this video you really helped me make up my mind. Hopefully by the end of summer I will own this exact model and color 😍 thank you for a great video!
thanks for detailing the interior, especially the console
A great overview of my next car.
And seems like mine, too. Just curious on EU prices.
I would like to have seen the stereo details and sound.
Due to copyright issues with music, we generally need to avoid playing sound systems, unfortunately.
nice review and beautiful car
wow finally review with a little drive.thanks
The hatchback looks sooooooooo much better!
I know americans in general prefer coupes or sedans, but this particular one is the best looking of the 2017 civics. I wish they bring the Type R soon
Nice video, love the sound effects!
great review first gear!
3 biggest thing to me that they should have added.
1) physical volume knob
2) CD player (I still keep my CDs)
3) AUX port for instant play for my passengers
it needs blind spot warning, and a power hatch back. even the new Kia forte has a option of standing behind the trunk for 3 seconds, then opens automatically.
I disagree about the power hatch. They are usually annoyingly slow and just seem unnecessary.
The only thing dissapointing me is the button handbrake
TheDimking yea tbh
I have a 8th gen manual and using handbrake for cornering is fun. Civic must be a fun car, and not a coach for the elderly.
Just wait for the Type-R.
thedimking.. if you hold up on the electronic brake it will act like a manual one. try it sometime!
no more drifting lol
Awesome guy awesome review best of luck man
Thanks, raj rai!!
Looks cool, bought the 2016 sedan February. Lets just say after the second 2016 civic, I now drive a Corolla. Just watching him do the interior gives me bad memories of both cars.

Will there be a touring model available? Is so when will it be for sale?
In UK - sometime close to end of 2017. I would suspect everywhere else at more or less the same time.
how many suitcases could you fit in the trunk without lowering the back seats?
How come my local honda dealer doesn't have these cars in stock?
Pretty detailed video but I feel as if the audio system has been overlooked and failed to mention that it has a lot of way to listen to music (ipod, AM/FM, apple/android connection). Other than that great video and very detailed video and I found it pretty humorous, keep it up!
I like this guy. kept me focus!
I appreciate that, Ilvan! Thank you.
Nice car. Nice review. Thank you.

So does cargo space has 1 piece of 12V socket inside at least as i could not see ???
And also advise if above car 174 HP and/or 184 HP which one is correct everyone says different thing in each video records unfortunaltely....
Attila Khan No 12V sockets or outlets in the cargo space that I was able to find. Also, our website has the EX listed as 174hp. Thanks for watching!!
Smail Honda
Damn this is not good i really do not understand previous UK made HB has, HR-V has but new Civic does not have duh.
Thanks for the review. No magic seat :(
I know, right? Magic seat is awesome- allows you to sleep stretched out in the car. All Honda hatchbacks and SUV's should have Magic seat.
Is there going to be an awd version
do all of the versions of this car (lx, sport, ex, ex-l navi, etc) have white led lights in the front?
i have some questions.... can i change the audio system with 12 speakers in the ex version (12 speakers are provided in sport touring model)...can i change my 16" alloy to 18" alloy like in sport touring.....is ex available with manual ????.....

manuals come with this gay ebrake as well
Silvester Stillstoned Wow that is stupid!
I think they are just trying to save pennies at the cost of the consumer.
watershed44 probably, either way im going to avoid the manuals this generation....they have a horrible rev hang, picking up an Automatic EX this weekend

watershed44 i know all this already, and i shouldnt have to tweak my new car for it to perform properly lol
no bluetooth conection in this car ?
Thanks for the review, so when is the coupe hatch coming?
There is no coupe hatch, only a sedan, coupe, and hatch (4 doors).
what kind of camera that you used in this video?
The main camera used is a 4K camera, a Sony FDR-AX33. There's also a couple shots in there with a Panasonic HDC-TM900 that we used for a few alternate angles. But the majority of the video is the Sony.
Great Video and nice Auto !
always wondering does the hatch version has a bit more backseat headroom than the seden version?
Sitting in the back seat of a 2016 Civic 4D EX as I write this! Headroom is about the same, I'm 6'3" and I'm comfortable. Hair is tickling the roof just the same as the Hatchback.
Apologies if I missed it, MPG? How does it compare to the 4 door sedan?
This Hatchback EX is listed at 31/40 MPG, while we have the 2016 Civic LX at 31/41 MPG. So, very close.
Smail Honda Thanks.
This car starting from 18.500 euro in Europe basic with 1.0 engine, since Seat Leon,Vw Golf or Renault Megane are much cheaper, and most performant than this car. No doubt will dissappear from our market as Honda Accord did already.

how much this car ? available in indonesia ?
is this car even powerful when going up hill?
Plz tell me fuel consumption this car???
does anybody know how good is it with a convertible baby seat ?
Went to go check it out again for you. This EX has the tether hooks in the rear seats on the driver and passenger sides, no middle. And the backs of the driver and passenger sides each have an anchor tether. Plenty of room, not sure of your specific baby seat, but I know my kid would fit back there beautifully.
nice end jump
Nice test drive but would better with more information how the civic performs on the road (handling, comfort, steering precision etc)
Thanks jgmaio! Keep an eye open for our other series called "Ride Along". In that series of videos a Honda Product Specialist reviews the car, performance and features. It gives a more in depth perspective of the vehicle. We are scheduled to shoot it this week!
wow! you told us all most everything! awesome review☺
No info about the engine of the test car??!!
Is this the 1.0 or the 1.5 turbo engine?
I like the boot space. It's like Honda Jazz
back looks similar to lycan hypercar used in ff7
Great review, thank you! Once this car arrives in the EU (ironically it's made in the U.K. but it'll be introduced after America) I'll compare it with the HR-V, the other Honda I'm considering :)
Weird, these UK made hatches have been first introduced...in US. Canadian made sedans we in Europe will have from...Turkey :)
I find that hilarious, too :D
First time a Honda Civic hatchback has been in the US market since about 2003.
Am loving the civi hatchback better then chevy Cruze sorry still go for Tahoe

Almost looks as good as my 16' Mazda 3 hatch. :D

Why is he driving with his knees almost coming out the windshield?
Personally i don't like the shape of the 10th gen civic especially the front it looks too dumpy and big.
