+Dustin Burgess thank you so much. Yes, Honda of Santa Maria has always been very supportive. When this came in, they pushed it through the shop in minutes just so I could film
Are you this jolly in every day life? It is so refreshing and infectious. Thanks for the review - you are stepping it up and are becoming the go-to Honda man! Keep up the amazing work!
@Your Honda Man, hi how come there's no manual transmission for the highest trim level? I understand that it's available for the lowest trim and the upcoming Type-R but why won't they ever include manual with the highly coveted combo as: Manual transmission + LED front headlights + Leather seating + navigation + moonroof combo, I mean it's available everywhere else including Canada but not USA, what gives!? =(
Just bought the first hatch that came in at my local dealer and it's this same exact model and color here. It's pretty nice. First Honda I'll be driving.
One of your best video reviews to date Edward! Just watching it makes me want the civic hatchback even more! I can't wait for the sport and sport touring as well :)
Finally, a well done review. Thank you! Had to search a bit for this one, needs to be bumped to the top when people search 2017 civic hatch. Anyways, I might need to get a new car soon. Test drove last gen civic a while ago, hated almost everything about it. Looks like a lot of that was fixed :).
thank you for the great review. I just spotted one at the local dealership as i was walking my dog. I'll be waiting for the sport review when it comes out.
The hatchback doesn't come out till feb or so next year here in Australia, I love it but I need a new car soon and that colour too! Ah thats not available either.
I have a 2017 EX-L without Navi and need help locating the sound control panel. It doesn't seem to have one unless I don't know how to get to it. I mean the setting setting for bass, trebble and so on. Please help.
How will servicing work on these? Since it is manufactured in the UK, will there be any servicing issues with the vehicle, or will all parts be similar to the more common Sedan/Coupes in the US?
I wish we got the EX and EX-L versions in Canada, we just get the LX, Sport, Sport Honda Sensing and Sport Touring trims here. Granted we don't even get the EX-L on the sedans or coupe, we jump from the EX-T to the Touring. I am surprised by the omission of heated rear seats in this car, I thought that had become a standard feature for Hondas with leather in the last few years.
Nice Review by the way, I was sold on the car already and still wanting to purchase this vehicle in December 2016, hopefully. I currently drive a 2016 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk 4X4, but the gas mileage isn't that much on these vehicles, only 19 & 26 with a combination of 24mpg. I drive alot and I found out today that this honda civic hatchback has great gas mileage so I don't have to fill up gas every other day. I have a question, since this is Turbo, does it require 91 Octane? Hopefully someone can help me with this.
I wish there wasn't a filter on this video so I can see the true color. This color showing here made me want to wait to get the sedan in this color because it looked a little blue-ish but on another video it was more grey without the filter.
@Your Honda Man Is the sport versions going to come with a Flat Bottom Steering Wheel do you know? And will the sport touring offer the steering wheel to be heated?
Congrats great video! Im a new subscriber! I have 1 question When the Type R is released next year, will it come with the sunroof? Thats the only thing that worries me because im madly obsessed with how amazing it looks, and It would be great if it had that feature. Would be a bummer if it doesn't! But thanks!!
Amazing value for an amazing car. My first new Honda Civic was a 1989 manual shift with 70 horsepower that I bought for a drive out price of $7,600 in the fall of 1988. Amazing that this Civic has more than a 100 horsepower than that car!!!
I want to by this car but becoz of 3 issue i didnt Finishing faults Music player gonna be jammed Or stop Petrol comsuption se more than toyta car. If u take 1.8 model toyta it takes less consuption of oil r disseal than 1.8 model of honda. Plz solve this issue. But the interior and exterior both are damn awsome.
So my family is looking at this car as a potential option when it comes out, but the one issue that I would like to solve is the moonroof. We had the Camry from like 2010 or something and the sunroof leaked. My mom doesn't want to take that chance again, but I feel that there is probably a way to avoid that, as it is very uncommon. We would probably want to purchase the ex-l navigation version (has a moonroof) but does anyone have any tips to convince her that it won't leak? Any help would be appreciated, thanks,
Aaron Costello I will do a video on that soon. The sport will have cloth, no moonroof, no touchscreen, no Lane watch. The touring will be a lot like the sedan touring. It will have LED lights, the Honda sensing package, a 540 W 12 speakerSystem, leather, heated rear seats. They will all have those 18 inch alloy wheels.
frustrating that all anyone gets is the top loaded automatic so far. Where are the manual sport civic hatch??? mx-5 was same way at launch. couldn't find a sport forever.
Why is it called a hatchback? I think it falls more in line with wagon. Hatchbacks were known with 2 doors and wagons with 4 doors. Also, the more I look at this civic the more I see the Accord Crosstour. I'd rather spend a little more and get a Subaru Forester XT.
As for the review, I recommend (highly) to watch carwow or carbuyer channels and see just how a review is done especially for the interior and the actual drive portions of the review. It doesn't hurt to be a little less biased towards honda by the way:) it kind of averts talking about the car's cons, which every car has to have.. and you don't mention them. But thank you anyway
You always do the best videos. I love the drone footage, excellent work. Your Honda dealership should be proud to have you representing them.
+Dustin Burgess thank you so much. Yes, Honda of Santa Maria has always been very supportive. When this came in, they pushed it through the shop in minutes just so I could film
This will be the best review for this car. ever.
u were more excited for this hatchback than we were and finally see u reviewing this....good job mate
just purchased my Sonic Gray last wknd. Gorgeous! would like to see vid of how all the buttons and screens work.
Leslie Pinedo , c'mon ! The Honda Civic Owner Manual is just 670 pages!
Yess
Hows the car holding up?
Are you this jolly in every day life? It is so refreshing and infectious. Thanks for the review - you are stepping it up and are becoming the go-to Honda man! Keep up the amazing work!
Really solid video presentation man. Leaps and bounds over the other dealership videos I have seen.
Jesse Vanderhoff thank you! I appreciate that.
3 more months and I can get mine! I absolutely love that color. I'll be getting the sport version myself.
This is probably the best car review. Very thorough, and aesthetically pleasing! Thank you for this review :). Definitely buying car!
excellent review, love the new hatch especially in this colour!
I would love to see the sport and sport touring too
Quân Anh yes me too! Can't wait!
THE 2017 CRV IS OUT
very nice review.please do a review with the manual transmission also
@Your Honda Man, hi how come there's no manual transmission for the highest trim level? I understand that it's available for the lowest trim and the upcoming Type-R but why won't they ever include manual with the highly coveted combo as:
Manual transmission + LED front headlights + Leather seating + navigation + moonroof combo, I mean it's available everywhere else including Canada but not USA, what gives!? =(
They are not leds on the back?
Just bought the first hatch that came in at my local dealer and it's this same exact model and color here. It's pretty nice. First Honda I'll be driving.
One of the best purchases I've ever made! Love my 2017 Honda Civic Ex hatchback! Black on black it's awesome! Great job Honda! 😎
Hows the car handling nowadays?
One of your best video reviews to date Edward! Just watching it makes me want the civic hatchback even more! I can't wait for the sport and sport touring as well :)
+David thank you! We definitely had time to prepare!
it paid off that's for sure :)
Nice review awesome filming. I was just hoping Honda would add the volume nob
Hamid Ghazi thank you!!! It's be nice to have, but the steering wheel volume is actually very effective
Great video review, Ed! Probably going to watch this over and over until my Polished Metal EX-L arrives at my dealership, haha!
Hows the car nowadays?
Finally, a well done review. Thank you! Had to search a bit for this one, needs to be bumped to the top when people search 2017 civic hatch.
Anyways, I might need to get a new car soon. Test drove last gen civic a while ago, hated almost everything about it. Looks like a lot of that was fixed :).
Shankovich thank you!!!! If you share it out to your outlets & like it, that just may help push this video to the top!
thank you for the great review. I just spotted one at the local dealership as i was walking my dog. I'll be waiting for the sport review when it comes out.
+Bao Nguyen yes! The sport will be epic with those 18 in alloys!
The hatchback doesn't come out till feb or so next year here in Australia, I love it but I need a new car soon and that colour too! Ah thats not available either.
This would be definitely best review for Honda Civic hatchback. And will type R be available in the next year ?
Kunpeng Huang it will release in the spring
the instrumental music is annoying ... but cool review on the car ...
I can't wait for the touring models to come out!
me too! cant wait!
YOU'RE AWESOME! I'm about to get this car!!!!
When is the Sport Touring coming out?
Great job! Looking forward to getting the Black LX!
nice video well put together. next video that you have to do is the civic sedan and hatchback side by side comparison
+Petrit Mamudi that's what I was thinking
Your Honda Man can't wait
Did you try to put the key in the trunk? Lol. Just curious to know. I know it works on the sedans when it pops back open.
Why did Honda wait to introduce the Sport and Touring models? What is the trunk space compared to the sedan model? Thx.
thanks.. How about the audio system?
Nice review. Can I fit two adults in back seat with car seat attached?
this car will be my next lease for sure.
13:52 Yeah visibility is just GREAT at the back!
That is such a pretty color! Awesome review & very informative!
Quality review! You stepped up your game!
Ray Ng thanks!!!
I have a 2017 EX-L without Navi and need help locating the sound control panel. It doesn't seem to have one unless I don't know how to get to it. I mean the setting setting for bass, trebble and so on.
Please help.
@Your Honda Man : Can you do a quick audio review / sound test of the EXL speaker system?
Would the Sport Hatch be more expensive than this??? I really wanna get the Sport hatch!!!
How will servicing work on these? Since it is manufactured in the UK, will there be any servicing issues with the vehicle, or will all parts be similar to the more common Sedan/Coupes in the US?
Excellent review!Bravo!you look like a Filipino 😀
Wow, great production quality! A few abrupt lighting/color changes though. Keep it up
Xenocidel our program crashed and we were reaching the deadline... I definitely noticed
This car is sooo sooo beautiful! Good job Honda and good on the review!
MathYou thank you and I agree! Great job Honda
I want this trim with dual exhaust like the one on sports touring.
Still waiting for a 6spd EX-L trim civic
Does the odometer color depend on which hatchback you choose? I feel like I've seen different ones. And can you play video on the touchscreen?
What camera do u use to Film your vids and what editing program do u use!? Great job pare!
cant wait to see sport and sport touring when do ya think they will come out?
nice revew..!!!!.
Congrats budy.
Alejo Jaime thank you
Does this have the lane assist and automatic braking feature?
So does the EX-L Navi still give you the option of using your Phone/Android auto with Google maps?
you said that it will be the platform for the up coming type r, does that mean i can have the type r spoiler on the hatchback? thanks!
Tyger Woods don't see why you couldnt
btw... I'm waiting for the sport, thanks Edward!
I wish we got the EX and EX-L versions in Canada, we just get the LX, Sport, Sport Honda Sensing and Sport Touring trims here. What's the height from the ground to top most part of the hatch door when the hatch door is opened?
Ha you look so happy to finally get it congrats and great review, since you own a sedan do you think the cvt feels the same in the hatch?
+Jordan Songkham thanks! And yes, the sedan Cvt does feel the same!
I would love to see your review of sport and sport touring please edward! Thanks
2017 civic sedan ex-t?
If this car is $25,300 BEFORE destination charges, then what is the destination charge if this car can only be shipped from the U.K.?
Nice Review by the way, I was sold on the car already and still wanting to purchase this vehicle in December 2016, hopefully. Well this one looks kind've aqua and the other looked like blue grey
@Your Honda Man Is the sport versions going to come with a Flat Bottom Steering Wheel do you know? And will the sport touring offer the steering wheel to be heated?
No flat bottom steering wheel and no heated wheel.
Congrats great video! Im a new subscriber! I have 1 question

I have a feeling it will have a moonroof. I doubt it wont.
Thanks for the sub!
Is there will be SI variant coming out as wel? Thanks
yes there will be!
Thanks!
why is the motor not covered with plastic like bmw and audis motor?
I can't find a test drive of the one with the manual transmission.
iMiguelAOG ill definitely do it when my dealership gets one!!!
Great! I'm impressed by the car soooooo much because of wrath you get for the price. If I was a few years older I'd get one myself
Good job on the hatchback review Edward! Although I think Ashley's reviews were better haha just joking. You both are great.
What sort of gauge does the lx have?
Amazing value for an amazing car. My first new Honda Civic was a 1989 manual shift with 70 horsepower that I bought for a drive out price of $7,600 in the fall of 1988.
Amazing that this Civic has more than a 100 horsepower than that car!!!
hyperlicht wow!!! That'd be cool to see now
Your Honda Man I meant to also say: Great review! Love the videography.
Does this model have a/c vents for the rear seat passengers?
Thank you.
Best video of 2017 civic hatchback so far.. not a fan of the wheels though. can't wait for my white EX.
For 25,000 before destination, the ex-l doesn't come with Honda Sensing standard????????
anyone know how to get this blue car for the civic?
I want to by this car but becoz of 3 issue i didnt
Finishing faults
Music player gonna be jammed Or stop
Petrol comsuption se more than toyta car. If u take 1.8 model toyta it takes less consuption of oil r disseal than 1.8 model of honda. Plz solve this issue. But the interior and exterior both are damn awsome.
Do the touring models of the civic come with wireless charging for phones?
I'd be interested in the answer to this aswell.
yea the sedan has it. so my guess is yes
Is it included or it's an add on feature?
included, my man its honda. everything comes standard. even the hondawatch system and led headlights are standard
itll be optional for sure. about $300
sooo....when is it actually on sale?
it went on sale September 26th!
None of the honda dealers dont have the sports model. Sad. I really want to test drive one.
Good review, but how do you determine how well the car handles while driving on perfectly straight roads? man, that looked really boring.
what this doesn't have 18" wheel?
So my family is looking at this car as a potential option when it comes out, but the one issue that I would like to solve is the moonroof. We had the Camry from like 2010 or something and the sunroof leaked. My mom doesn't want to take that chance again, but I feel that there is probably a way to avoid that, as it is very uncommon. Any help would be appreciated, thanks,
exl trim doesn't come with honda sensing package?
$1000.00 option
What is the difference between the sport and the sport touring?
Aaron Costello I will do a video on that soon. The sport will have cloth, no moonroof, no touchscreen, no Lane watch. The touring will be a lot like the sedan touring. It will have LED lights, the Honda sensing package, a 540 W 12 speakerSystem, leather, heated rear seats. They will all have those 18 inch alloy wheels.
Your Honda Man cheers!
what's the 0-60 on the hatch?
Is the Sport Version out or available yet?
+Yao Moua not yet
Awesome review... well done 👍🏽😊
the rear look kinda weird. like sedan with hunchback. why honda does not make a hatch back look more like hatch back
Yes! My boy got it!! : D
Artzonia congrats to him!
+Your Honda Man (Edward) XDD when I said boy I meant you
How thick are the tire of the sport 18x##x##?
Dande 235/40/r18
frustrating that all anyone gets is the top loaded automatic so far. Where are the manual sport civic hatch??? mx-5 was same way at launch. couldn't find a sport forever.
AutoEnthusiastJC I hear ya! I want to see the 6 speeds soon!
what trim is the one with nice exhaust?..in the centre?
The Sport and Sport Touring but that I believe is not coming until the winter.
coqueton1984 ok thanks
A lot of people hated on the the two tier dash in the previous gen civic. Anyone hating on the two tier spoiler?
Press Start
Why is it called a hatchback? I think it falls more in line with wagon. Hatchbacks were known with 2 doors and wagons with 4 doors. Also, the more I look at this civic the more I see the Accord Crosstour. I'd rather spend a little more and get a Subaru Forester XT.

What's a cvt transmission ??
Honda's CVT is steaming poo
I'm waiting for my Honda Civic Sport 1.5 turbo petrol MANUAL
really want to see the all new civic hatchback!
+Kaito Vang they look awesome in person
Two more things that would of made this car perfect. A heated steering wheel, and the option for AWD.
Awd burn gas
Make the car heavy
Cost more if the car breaks down
You got it in red?
+Hectuurrd not yet
detailer at a honda dealership and yet we still dont have ours yet....
None of the dealerships have manual transmission. Oh well I guess they're waiting for Si and type R to come out

Nice review!!
