Imagine being limited to 12k rpms, and not being able to tell the difference between settings because despite all your trying, you're probably driving the car at 1/10ths... such incredible machines. Glad that you got to experience this!
Hey Gex. i just watched your video first time driving an F1 car. looked amazing but reading all the comments and how the car was limited to 12000 rpm sucks. i just drove the Williams F1 2011 FW33 also at the Dubai Autodrome and an amazing experience behind the wheel. Once i receive my footage I'll upload it to UA-cam. The car was peaking at 17500 rpm. It was Pasto Maldonados F1 car for the 2011 season. Like you i spun out too on the same corner 😆
Well done though mate for experiencing something millions of F1 fans world wide would live to do.

It's cool that they modified the car to be 200cm wide (it was originaly 180cm via 1998-2016 regulations), even before that car width was announced to be brought back for the 2017 season.

Sounds like it wasn't given full revs (power turned down). Doesn't shriek. The experience would still be amazing tho :-)

I don't think there is any F1 car you can privately drive for less than 100k that isn't limited.. One of the reasons I would rather drive more laps in a GP2 with full power than a car like this.

In old Formula 1 cars they have to tune it down or the engine will be gone very quickly.
the corse clienti have legit engines that are not detuned

@Louis Dega as i wrote - i have a trained neck. but some transmissions do a switch like a beast with lot of delay - this is why head moves so much. On some sport cars developers setup it special for make car is more agressive for you feelings.

you could see the spin coming a mile off, nearly lost it that part the lap before. Im sure i would have done the same obviously though :)
Very tricky corner, you have to push brake only when car is on straight line. i have tried to use different gears because brake point right on rev limit of 5th gear and when you release throttle car will very unstable

I didn't knoe heads bobbed like this when shifting. I thought they were restrained more. Or...is it possible going to the gym to build up neck muscles is required.

As I write before - it is just gearbox setup. I think it is result of car revs limitation, cos this car will be change gears on much more revs

Of course no! Except 20 minutes on Formula 3 car with rain. Yes i`m very lucky to get a rain in Dubai 30 minutes before my very first F1 experience.

I thought the same. But the thing is that this car is being limited to 12K RPM max instead of its normal 18K RPM. Nevertheless, same V10 F1 car as ran in 2001.

First two laps is so slow... cos i don't believe in brakes and tyres temp, only last lap i trying to break limits =)

Your carry too little speed into the corner... tyres will never reach temp. You don't break hard enough and too early... brakes will never reach temp. You spun because you kept break too long and too hard into that corner or tyres still cold. Good job not damaging the car but it is an f1 you can push it a little harder. F1 Sofa driver, real commercial pilot and real F3 driver.
