Is there a way to set this up for UA-cam Streaming? I've been looking and haven't for a video that out right said UA-cam Streaming (UA-cam is where I Stream the Most) & I do Stream a little on Twitch but I want it for Both.
Absolutely. Since MixItUp Supports UA-cam Streaming, the action you made can just be applied to things like a Super Chat or a Membership subscription. Or you can just have chat trigger it with a command like !popcat or something, since UA-cam doesn't have channel points.
used your tutorial for mixitup - first stream it worked perfectly, streaming now and my lil chat pet (fred) comes on and off screen but doesnt type...any way to troubleshoot that?
It is a really unfortunate downside of MixItUp that the overlay requires a refresh but the good thing is, if you go into the properties of the source and tick "Refresh this source every time it becomes visible" , this should hopefully remove the need to remember. (If you have already done that, hell yeah)
Hi I'm having a weird issue where when i click the test twitch point action on mix it up it is delayed to the point pop cat is already off the screen... I don't know what i did wrong at this point because it isn't reading the channel point message but it will read the Action Test command please help @Techtacula
Are you using Bikubot or MixItUp? And it's hard to know what the problem might be without seeing your action list. Feel free to join my discord and I can try and help in there :)
So I followed your tutorial (which is wonderful, btw, I'm sure I just goofed somewhere along the way) but I'm having a weird issue. When I test out of streams, it works just fine, everything loads the way it's supposed to and my bwopcatgirl moves the way she's intended to. However when I'm actually live and streaming, whenever she gets redeemed, she slides in, doesn't move, slides back out and then 30 seconds to a minute later the TTS actually kicks in. I have no idea if there's even a fix for this. I use Mix it Up since I'm also using it in tandem with VTube Studio for my Vtuber. If you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it!
Hey Aiva, yeah a few people have been commenting with a similar issue, but very strange for it to only be happening while live. This one has me stumped. Thanks so much!! and yes its in the pipeline. First point of call would be for me to make a dedicated video on setting up tts for free in Streamer.bot so that when I make the eventually tutorial of bwop cat with streamer.bot I have that separate video to refer to. So that the video is not as long haha
I have run into a problem using this tutorial and I wonder if there is a workaround! I use MixItUp for a lot of things including alerts, redeems etc and I set up the TTS however I found that the TTS pet picks up all the sounds from every sound Mix It Up makes. Is there a way to separate audio sources within Mix It Up? I can't seem to change the TTS node to run in a different overlay, it all wants to run all audios from the default overlay.
That unfortunately is a limitation of MixItUp itself, in terms of choosing what audio device certain sounds output too. However, having a separate overaly should do the trick? So I am not quite sure there sorry!
Ive somewhat designed a way to make this work but with a chat gpt api and google cloud text to be speech. So my avatar is basically an "aI" twitch chat buddy.

Hey! Sorry to ask a question on an older vid, but I seem to be having a weird problem: Everything works fine except for the $argcount*0.4 command? I can get the bot to raise up and talk, but it won't persist for the duration of the TTS and just slinks back down as it starts to talk. Is there a new command or have I inputted something wrong? Thanks in advance!

I liked tutorial. I checked everything and things work fine reacting and all everything connected I have no issue with those. However. No matter what I do/re-do I cannot hear the text to speech on Mix it Up. I set everything as they should. And in Obs it does shows that there sound, image reacting yet there are still no audio. Hi Peach thanks for the comment! So happy you liked the tutorial and got it setup great. As for your issue. Thanks so much!! So, if its on the active scene, it should be behaving as normal. So I am not sure sorry. But may I ask why you stay in studio mode? You would only need to use studio mode if you are changing something on another scene without needing to chance the currently live scene.

Great question. So no, thats why I instruct you to set it up in it's own scene. Then you add that scene to wherever you want the cat. That is the beauty of scene nesting in OBS! Being able to put scenes within scenes. So you set it up once and then it is going to work no matter where you put it.
Thanks for the comment! Streamer.bot is a much different process and I have had a few requests to do a streamer.bot tutorial for this which is in the pipeline so stay tuned and I appreciate the patience!

You can only use this with a bot that runs locally as it needs to connect directly to OBS to trigger everything. Streamlabs Cloudbot does not. You also cannot use this in Streamlabs Studio or (Streamlabs OBS as it was previously called) But you can set this up for bits. Just need to use a bot that supports it, such as the ones i mention in the video, Bikubot, MixItUp & Streamer.bot. Firebot wasn't mentioned but also works too.
Thank you so much!! Yeah so I have some videos in the works for streamer.bot. The first is going to be how to set up good quality TTS with it and then I'll work on the streamer.bot method :D
Yep you absolutely can skip it to keep it just on screen! (Although the Move Plugin is amazing and so useful for lots of stuff so I would recommend looking more into it!!)
Adjusting your twitch settings for what words are allowed and what arent will be how you do that. No one can redeem the tts if they use any words that you dont allow in your chat overall.
So I have recently run into this problem for myself as well. My current theory is that it is possibly the plugin. I haven't had the chance to try yet but I would recommend reinstalling the plugin and seeing if that fixes the issue.
I am extremely late to seeing this video but I have gotten through it entirely, and everything is functioning except for the duration the cat is on the screen while TTS is running. I cant for the life of me figure out how to keep the cat on the screen for the entirety of the TTS duration. Super cool video tho and I appreciate it!
I just set mine to show up for the max character limit duration but it's not perfect and for especially long messages it goes away and for short message he just sits there for like 30 seconds. Can you please share your solution? As I'm writing this I might just use a audio move filter to hide him and show him if he's making noise
I have heard of Eleven Labs but I haven't looked into what options they have for using their service outside of their website. If it can be, Streamer.bot would be the only way. Which I will be doing a tutorial for in the near future!
I'm not sure where you might have gone wrong in the process of setting it up so it's hard to say. If it is not sliding in, that means it is not triggering the move filter to move the cat. so maybe try going back and ensuring you have setup everything correctly for the move action and double check the spelling of the filter names in the bot.
Is there a way to do this with just the chat bot getting a new message? I'm trying to set up a custom chat box overlay that will 'react' when a new message comes in
@@Techtacula So I actually already figured out what I needed to do to get the effect I needed and I only needed one program for it :D I didn't want to have TTS implemented, but just make the mouth open to reveal the chat with each new message
I'm running the latest version of OBS with no issues. So I'm not sure why yours may not be working. When you say it isnt working, if you mean that you have setup the images in the properties of the source and when you play the audio it isn't changing it the way it should be, then it could be that it isn't recognizing your audio device properly. But it's hard to say without further context or details.
hey i wanted to ask if you can show how it moves with mix it up when it speaks in obs so you don't see it in the filter but in the overlay or on stream how it moves and goes out of the picture could you maybe show this please ?
@@Techtacula i'm having the same problem Basically wehn i use the channel redeem for tts, my character does moves it's mouth but the animation for it coming in and off the screen doesn't work
Thank you for this amazing tutorial! Is there a way, instead of using channel points, choosing myself certain people in chat to become fully voice activated by tts for whatever they say in chat? I have seen some people like DougDoug do this, but i can't figure out how it works and your tutorial comes the closest to an answer. Thank you again!
Thanks for the comment Cyrra. You absolutely could. This would involve adding a separate action group. You would add an action that checks if a spoken username in chat matches one of the ones you want and if it does, take that message and read it out. I think this can be done in MixItUp but 100% can be done in Streamerbot. However I would recommend against this as it would end up constantly speaking if multiple of these people are talking in the chat at the same time. You can streamline this a bit by instead just having a free to use command like !talk which they can type in chat. You set the permissions to be only for users you choose. Then it stops the bot from constantly checking every single chat message and instead only listens out for that command.
@@Techtacula Thank you so much! That makes sense, I'm going to try it out somewhere this week to see if I can get it to work. Good tip as well, I'll make sure to add that command.
Thanks so much! Did you check the audio monitor settings? I do mention a couple times to make sure you set it to monitor and output or Monitor only (Mute Output) - You can see which device is set to monitor in the audio settings. And as for which one you choose, it depends on whether your monitor device is already an audio device being captured in OBS or if its a seperate device.
Hey I wanted to say great tutorial first but I don't quite understand if I did something wrong or not but for me the picture just stays in my overlay inside and doesn't disappear anymore what can it be? and I don't know if you need the info but I use mix it up please help i dont know what to do anymore
Everything you see in OBS is seen by you. But if you are talking about not being able to hear the TTS, you need to revisit where I talk about the audio settings.
@@Techtacula TTS audio is fine. I'm wondering if I'm supposed to see the TTS image pop on and off the screen when TTS is used, cause it doesn't show on my OBS.
In the Mix It Up bot could you make it to where the TTS Cat works for bits? How would you set it up if you want to use the cat for bits instead of chat command or channel reward 🙂?
@@Techtacula I'm trying to do this, but I can't seem to get the second wait command to work properly with $argcount. I've tried a few different variables, and changing the multiplier, but nothing seems to keep him on screen the entire length of the message.
okay I figured out that the issues is whenever there is punctuation, it considers that the conclusion of the message. if there's a period, question mark, etc, it considers that the end of the argument. any way to fix that?
hi hi this tutorial is great ;w; i got most of it working but for some reason mix up is not reacting to channel point redeems at all. the tts still works when i enter something manually on the action command group section but it will not read the channel point redeems help please T-T;;)
Hi Rinny, It's hard to say what might be the issue without seeing your MixItUp, but sounds like you may have not attached the bwop cat action to the channel point redemption correctly or Mixitup isn't picking up properly that a channel point redemption went off. Maybe just try remaking the channel point command inside of MixItUp. If you need further help, feel free to join my discord, there is a link to it in the description!
I dont want my TTS pet to be away from the screen and just enter on command, I just want him there with me all the time and talks whenever someone uses chat points. How can i make this work?
Wish i would have seen this video earlier...i spent alot of time doing this exacting with audio move filters and streamerbot And. A random isaah alert browser source for tts. If making noise the source will appear and disappear the idele image and vise versa.
Hey that's great though! I was using audio move filters as well before I found the plugin which just made it a lot simpler. I'm actually planning a follow up to this tutorial to use streamer.bot but trying to make it as streamlined as possible. It's way down in the pipeline though.
Hey Syn, so if its not showing up in the sources list, that means it was not installed correctly or there is an OBS version mismatch, double check what version of OBS it supports up to and what version you are running. Or just try a reinstall.
@@Techtacula I am not sure, I had copied it exactly redoing over 20 times and the same result would happen, there were some points where it did work for a moment, though still disappearing before finishing. But I thank you for your time.
@@Techtacula obs and the bot keep listening to my browser audio ( which I don't want to happen) none of the plugs in i installed work or even show up in the bar and I followed your how to install plug ins video to the letter.
Yeah. So I guess you could make it cost 1 channel point which is basically nothing. Or attach it to a command that is used via chat. For example, !bwop
There could be multiple points where the issue may lie. Without knowing specifics or being able to see how you have set it up I'm not sure what to suggest.
Sadly no since you cannot install plugins for Streamlabs. But if you are looking to swap over to OBS Studio, you can import your scenes and profile from Streamlabs into OBS Studio!
this broke my obs, video is awful if your using the free program, this didnt work, and end result is i now have a woman talking and i cant find where. now i need to reinstall obs
Sorry to hear you ran into issues. You are the only person to comment having such a severe issue, so I'm not sure how things ended up breaking as much as they did. You only install a couple plugins to OBS and I don't see how they would completely break it. There is a lot of variables at play but you could always have a second OBS running in portable mode, and use that one as a test to possibly try again if you were willing to give it another go?
You shouldn't just roam around accusing people of stealing or "Shamelessly Riffing" as you put it. Because it would make you look really silly if you realized you were wrong. twitter.com/helloNikoheart/status/1414200466611838977 - This Tweet is of a clip from my stream from July of 2021. As I am tagged in the Tweets Caption and you can see that it is, obviously me in the clip. So I have been using the cat since then, but of course only made the tutorial for it recently. So I have been using this concept of a tts cat long before. The two cat designs are different and I haven't heard of MissJackieArt before until your comment. With how big the world is, and the fact that a Cat is one of the most common and beloved animals in the world, its silly to think that only one person would have this idea and every single other person stole the idea. Just because you found MissJackieArt's channel before my video, doesn't immediately mean the idea is stolen. The concept of using chat powered tts characters has been around for a long time. So uh, guess you look a bit silly now :)
If you could use any character instead of Bwop cat, what would it be and why?

Adjusting your twitch settings for what words are allowed and what arent will be how you do that. No one can redeem the tts if they use any words that you dont allow in your chat overall.
@@Techtacula sorry i'm really new to twitch, I'm still setting up for my first stream. where are these settings? And thank you for the help

Great video Nick, looking forward to the streamerbot tutorial in short or long form 😀
Thank you Condi!
SO everything is working EXCEPT the mouth open image is not showing when tts is happening? [using mix it up]
So I have recently run into this problem for myself as well.
Nevermind! I figured it out! Anyway, thanks for the video! You're awesome!
@@lexmuri Please share your solution! I am stuck D;
I just set mine to show up for the max character limit duration but it's not perfect and for especially long messages it goes away and for short message he just sits there for like 30 seconds. Can you please share your solution? As I'm writing this I might just use a audio move filter to hide him and show him if he's making noise
is there anyway to do this in streamlabs? I'm struggling to find reaction imgae for source
No sorry. Streamlabs does not allow you to install plugins. This is OBS Studio or OBS.Live only.
Hey nick amazing video is there anyway i can make it so theres no limit to the tts. my chat loves the feature.
Thank you so much! When you say "no limit" what type of limit are you referring to?
Any way to use Eleven Labs for the pet's voice?
I have heard of Eleven Labs but I haven't looked into what options they have for using their service outside of their website.
If it can be, Streamer.bot would be the only way. Which I will be doing a tutorial for in the near future!
I dont have access to channel points yet. How do i make it a chat command?
Just follow the same steps but for a chat command instead of a channel point redepmtion
For some reason when i activate the channel redeem my image doesn't slide in how do i fix this?
I'm not sure where you might have gone wrong in the process of setting it up so it's hard to say.
If it is not sliding in, that means it is not triggering the move filter to move the cat. so maybe try going back and ensuring you have setup everything correctly for the move action and double check the spelling of the filter names in the bot.
Do these work with GIFs or just PNGs?
Absolutely works with GIFs!
Is there a way to do this with just the chat bot getting a new message? I'm trying to set up a custom chat box overlay that will 'react' when a new message comes in
Hi Shauna, when you say every message, do you mean the cat reading every twitch chat message that gets typed?
@@Techtacula So I actually already figured out what I needed to do to get the effect I needed and I only needed one program for it :D I didn't want to have TTS implemented, but just make the mouth open to reveal the chat with each new message
Image reaction is installed correctly but is not working for OBS 30.1.2 Any fixes?
I'm running the latest version of OBS with no issues. So I'm not sure why yours may not be working.
When you say it isnt working, if you mean that you have setup the images in the properties of the source and when you play the audio it isn't changing it the way it should be, then it could be that it isn't recognizing your audio device properly. But it's hard to say without further context or details.
hey i wanted to ask if you can show how it moves with mix it up when it speaks in obs so you don't see it in the filter but in the overlay or on stream how it moves and goes out of the picture could you maybe show this please ?
I would love to help but your comment is very confusing to understand haha
@@Techtacula i'm having the same problem Basically wehn i use the channel redeem for tts, my character does moves it's mouth but the animation for it coming in and off the screen doesn't work
can i use it wiht donation alert? for reading donations
Absolutely yeah!
Great tutorial! Everything worked for me but for some reason I dont hear the audio after hitting play with VB installed.
@@Techtacula Ok i got it all set up! Had to get the multi output device setup!
@@Mcribbn Hi there, I'm having a similar issue and having input and output selected isn't working; what did you mean by multi output device setup?
Hey I wanted to say great tutorial first but I don't quite understand if I did something wrong or not but for me the picture just stays in my overlay inside and doesn't disappear anymore what can it be? and I don't know if you need the info but I use mix it up please help i dont know what to do anymore
Thanks so much!!
As for your question, there needs to be a move transition to move the cat off screen.
@@Techtacula there is one but it only works every 10 times that it goes out of the picture and I don't know why
Am I not supposed to see it in action on OBS and only the viewers during stream will be able to see it? I'd like to know if it's working or not. ^^;
Everything you see in OBS is seen by you.
Same process but you attach the action group to the bits event instead of the channel point event!
@@Techtacula Thank you! 😊
@@Techtacula I'm trying to do this, but I can't seem to get the second wait command to work properly with $argcount. I've tried a few different variables, and changing the multiplier, but nothing seems to keep him on screen the entire length of the message.
okay I figured out that the issues is whenever there is punctuation, it considers that the conclusion of the message. if there's a period, question mark, etc, it considers that the end of the argument. any way to fix that?
it looks like removing the spaces from the $argcount multiplier worked! so instead of doing $argcount * 0.4, do $argcount*0.4 and adjust accordingly!
hi hi this tutorial is great ;w; i got most of it working but for some reason mix up is not reacting to channel point redeems at all. the tts still works when i enter something manually on the action command group section but it will not read the channel point redeems help please T-T;;)
Then just dont do the part of the guide that includes the movement? Just leave it there :)
Wish i would have seen this video earlier...i spent alot of time doing this exacting with audio move filters and streamerbot
And.
@Techtacula oh sounds cool I will have to give it a wacth!
So I installed the Image Reaction Plugin, and its not showing up anywhere in OBS, help?
Hey Syn, so if its not showing up in the sources list, that means it was not installed correctly or there is an OBS version mismatch, double check what version of OBS it supports up to and what version you are running. Or just try a reinstall.
@@Techtacula Seems it wasn't installed in the correct area. Thanks for the heads up on this. now if I can only get it to slide on and off screen
I downloaded everything and set it up but I'm not getting to option to add a reaction image :((
Are you using OBS Studio?
that virtual audio cable website is kinda jank and doesn't work right.
The website itself absolutely needs some improvement but the virtual cable itself does work!
@@Techtacula it took some finagling but I finally got it to work! there website sure does need some major improvement indeed. I completely agree.
its all working all good but i cant hear myself even my audios are all good hmm??
When you say you can't hear yourself, what do you mean exactly? Like talking into your microphone, you can't hear your own voice or?
@@Techtacula sorry my bad the tts doesnt work theres no voice coming through i mean
It didn't work for me, It would quickly pop up and then down and TTS happened seconds after.
Might be something in the chain that could be out of order?
@@Techtacula I am not sure, I had copied it exactly redoing over 20 times and the same result would happen, there were some points where it did work for a moment, though still disappearing before finishing.
But I thank you for your time.
I followed step by step but nothing is working right the plug in for OBS to get reactive images didnt work
So I wouldn't be able to help if nothing is working. I'm not sure where the problem would lie.
@@Techtacula obs and the bot keep listening to my browser audio ( which I don't want to happen) none of the plugs in i installed work or even show up in the bar and I followed your how to install plug ins video to the letter.
Can i make the cost for using "the cat" free?
Yeah. So I guess you could make it cost 1 channel point which is basically nothing. Or attach it to a command that is used via chat. For example, !bwop
is this possible in streamlabs?
No since you cannot install plugins into streamlabs.
I am having a weird issue with no image reaction showing up
There could be multiple points where the issue may lie. Without knowing specifics or being able to see how you have set it up I'm not sure what to suggest.
good video, very informative
Thanks! Glad it was helpful!
can u do something else like sonic?
You can replace the images with whatever you like!
Have this for StreamLabs?
Sadly no since you cannot install plugins for Streamlabs. But if you are looking to swap over to OBS Studio, you can import your scenes and profile from Streamlabs into OBS Studio!
is this working withe Stream Labs?
No it does not because you can't install plugins on streamlabs.
WHAT IS CHANNEL POINT REDEMPTION! ?????
Do you stream on Twitch or have you watched much Twitch?
@@Techtacula sorry for the caps yes I do stream
this broke my obs, video is awful if your using the free program, this didnt work, and end result is i now have a woman talking and i cant find where. now i need to reinstall obs
Sorry to hear you ran into issues.
You are the only person to comment having such a severe issue, so I'm not sure how things ended up breaking as much as they did.
You only install a couple plugins to OBS and I don't see how they would completely break it.
There is a lot of variables at play but you could always have a second OBS running in portable mode, and use that one as a test to possibly try again if you were willing to give it another go?
im kinda sruggling ngl
What are you struggling with?
stumbles across this. shamelessly riffing MissJackieArt chat cat. so sad dude
Funny that, seeing as I drew this cat. Check your facts, buddy
