I've been 246 for 3 nights in a row weird. 335 are nice guitars my favorite is straight up custom LP. Thanx Trogly you have had some interesting gibsons lately. Does everyone notice how much gibsons are going up, up, up in price but you talk to guys that go to the guitar shows and the market is over flooded with Gibsons. You would think the prices would be coming down a little. I know the custom stuff is always pricey but everything is up standards to students. Oh well sign of the times I guess. Great show tonight Trogly.
I like the headstock pointers that embellish the open book shape on that Hummingbird Ultima Pushing abalone into the corners is a nice touch. It's busy but I really like it
I get that gaudy guitars will have a hefty price tag but yeah these numbers are crazy. Guitars are meant to be played… some of these are not built with the intent to be played.
The reason spruce is preferred on acoustics is because softer woods with tight even grain makes a superior soundboard than hardwoods. Especially figured hardwoods. So the tight flame on the hummingbird is a better sonic choice for a top than a wide flame
There was never a time Gibson guitars had been inexpensive but these days they are way above the top. I mean these are real luthier prices and not factory prices.
The prices are not far off from simple interest. The more expensive ones are still more expensive. All the acoustics coming through the Bozeman plant are impeccable. Although, these ARE just an excuse to do a $1000 extra in work and charge $6000 extra
It’s sad that the new Gibson amps are that expensive. The worst part of it all is they’re not even point-to-point wired. It’s 1500 bucks for the cheapest of those amps. For that price, especially with it being such a low wattage amp, I expect it to be point to point wired. I can buy a 5F1 kit from Mojo ton or stewmac for less than $1000 and build a vintage spec point to point wired amplifier
There's something about that J-45 that I just don't like. It's odd looking AND expensive. Plus, what famous player used them? I don't know, the older I get, Martins are my favorite acoustics. That Grabber plays on my heart strings, as it was one of my late, big brother's main basses from the late 1970s to the early 1980s. They used to have a very Fender Precision like sound to them. Did they mention the "sliding" pickup? If they didn't, these should be the Ripper, because that's the name of the partner model. The natural finish was the Grabber, black was the Ripper. Gibson is NOT known for amps - at all! For those prices, forget it.
Grabber bass reissues! Does this mean we are getting closer to an RD Artist bass reissue? I’m just sitting here hoping. Edit: My Wife’s ‘73 Camaro is painted like that green Les Paul, so dark it almost looks black. The color of her car is Midnight Green.
Hello fellow trogeledites. Hope everyone is safe and has had little if any damages from Helene. From what I see the unit one finish is a process that darkens the mahogany but still allows the wood grain to be readily seen. Was supposed to be used on tobacco finishes in the 60s.
I love how Gibson has just dropped all pretenses of making instruments for musicians and are now leaning into just making collector pieces. Stay Authentic, Gibson!
Tak Matsumoto got a new signature Epiphone les paul, 55 les paul " Inspired By Gibson Custom", looks just a gold top with wrapped around bridge ,burstbucker pro pickup and gibson open book headstock.
Same can be said for all guitar manufacturers ever past, present and future. Everyone has done every color before and will continue to do every color in the future.
Then you haven't looked back in time far enough. They've done every wild color too from neon green to traffic cone orange, plum purple, all the traditional blues reds blacks yellows, trust me they did it all. I considered buying an ESP they did in neon green once.
Regarding your props for Sweetwater, wouldn't you like to be whisked away through your screen into the Sweetwater showroom in Fort Wayne. I'll tell you I wouldn't mind it.
If you think of it these collector guitars are more art from the gibson factory or the luthier who designed and made the guitar than something else. These guitars are not played but admired and put back in its case.
That J-45 is gorgeous, but far too fancy to actually play. On those Hummingbirds, I've never seen nor heard a maple topped acoustic guitar. I'm curious as to what they sound like.
Hi Trogly! Did you also see now they have an alpine white custom with chrome hardware? The price is $4999, $800 cheaper than the one with the gold hardware. Why do you think there is such a price discrepancy for gold plated hardware? They have exactly the same specs otherwise.
I wish that someone at gibson would research their colours before they give them their name because that British racing green is so far off the colour it should be or the people taking the pictures are just unable to take a decent picture I've noticed that a lot of the pictures are just not the same as their advertised. colours which is a shame as buyers may put off buying because of a bad picture. And if it's not a bad picture then gibson deserve to loose sales due to inaccurate information
And for the rest of us, Reverb now has Harley Benton shipping from the US. HB is Thomann's good quality, but low budget brand... but I think Cor-Tek (Cort) makes most of them. Good for mods, or for oddball things like they have a "Custom 24" looking guitar with P-90s, or a "Mustang" with a Jazzmaster tailpiece? 😂
Until Gibson comes out with a single cut hollow body - or better yet a Byrdland - not interested. I would love for you to review a Gibson/Epiphone ""Telecaster".
I wouldn't mind another ES-175. I tried an Epiphone version once because someone wanted me to set it up and make sure it was ready for his grandson. Amazing experience and a unique sound. Really isn't enough single cut hollow bodies out there.
Hey Trogly, Please tell us if MOST of your video's are going to be Gibson Mod shop recaps, I can spend 20 minutes playing my guitar instead of watching you give your opinion on what Gibson is doing. my gawd get real man
Whenever I watch Trogly I gotta chase it with GuitarMax to see instruments I could actually afford.
Hahahahahahahaha!!!
Trogly and a Gibson Buckethead. Max with the Firefly copy. The Great Divide!
Check out The Guitaristas. He reviews a lot of affordable guitars. Fun to watch too.
That blue hummingbird ultima was stunning!
I'd pay 12 grand for that Harp Lady J45 all day long. That guitar is a work of art.
Geez if I had 12k it would be paying for life. Things got expensive these last couple years.

The J-45 130th anniversary model In overall black was one beautiful guitar regardless of price!
Gibson, again, out of touch with these prices.

that may be the best B.B. King yet.
That blue hummingbird! Oh my!
Ah yes guitars only surgeons will be buying again.
Would someone think of the poor c-suite for once? How they gonna get a rosewood or ebony floor for their yacht instead of mahogany? :(
They look beautiful on your wall, Dr. Twatley
I'm an average working class guy, and I have two Custom Shop Gibsons. If you want them bad enough, the money will come.
what do you mean? that the new (post 2018) management at Gibson is making the exact same mistakes that made them go under? Say it isn't so!
Surgeons gotta play too!
Anyone else remember when you could get a LP studio brand new for less than a grand?
🎶 Those were the days 🎵
I have a 1984 , $600
Yes to nice ES models like and Pelham Blues … No to OTT inlays, wide flame Ultimas, etc. Those Amps all looks nice. 🙂
That viper blue acoustic is outstanding!......Johnny Cash is going to Jackson....
Yeah, that JC acoustic looked weird. Like "If Johnny Cash played for AC/DC"
The blue hummingbird is very nice ❤
I would love to see you do a review on modern guitars:)
I put in a order this morning for a natural grabber. Fingers crossed 🤞 it will live up to my hype for it. Wish it was like 749 not 999 but.....o well

Mike Dirnt from Green Day has an Epiphone Grabber Signature Model in the works. Should be debuting at NAMM
Bring back the ES-175 and L5
The Blue Hummingbird is a beaut , love the LP Juniors ( Silver Fox & TV White ) , also really dig the British Racing Green LP ! Thanks Trogly !
I love my Gibsons, but I'll never buy a new one again. Their pricing is waaaay outta wack. Schecters and G&L's deliver more bang for the buck

the color on that amp is so cool
Question:
When valuating for resale, relicked guitars, how do you tell what they're worth? How do you tell the condition?
The relicing has to be mint! 😁
@@MEGAMIGA Right, with no buckle worming or scratches or finish checking!
@@216trixie You got it!
@@MEGAMIGA seriously though, I imagine they're going to have to look for new relicing and devalue the guitar from there! Lol serious though.
Ask any price you like. The market will tell you what they're worth.
Gotta love having hard wood on the top of your acoustic /s
Howdy all!!
Chuck Berry 355, I have that in an ElDegas
Yes

thanks for the headsup! Didn't realize he had a Gibson Custom Version back in 2022 either
Nice inlaying, not to busy for what it is.👍
Thanks for the video.
Yo
Hasn’t Gibson exhausted every color of the spectrum to try and sell the same old guitar shape?
Same can be said for all guitar manufacturers ever past, present and future. Everyone has done every color before and will continue to do every color in the future.

ok the quality, fit, finish, of my 2003 Kamikaze 3 is far superior than my 1968 SG Standard.
That blue acoustic is nice. Unfortunately too nice to play. Especially on my sailboat.
Hummingbird!

Check out a PRS Billy Martin this Halloween season!
on the Grabber, wait for the Mike Dirnt G3.
Argentine ? Argentina!!! 🇦🇷

BB King used Gibson guitars starting in the late 1950's. BB King passed away in 2015. What is "new" about any of this, huh Gibson?
AKST 3:09pm.

Maple top acoustics guitars? that's a hard Pass for me!

Gibson like Blizzard hates poor people.

Gibson making a song and dance about the 130th anniversary, if Orville H came back today, there would be virtually nothing for him to play
