I LOVE these fish! Thanks for sharing, Tarun! Enough info in this one video to keep a rainbowshark happy and alive in people's aquariums! Keep up the awesome work, mate!!! 😉👍
100% recommend it for bigger tanks! that means its an excuse to buy a baby rainbow shark then get a bigger tank for it hahaha. (don't actually do that, get the tank first then the fish hahaha)
Hey mate, its a bit tough at this point in all honestly. I would just rehome the smaller ones but a good thing to do is add in a bunch of caves and hiding places that should calm things down.
hey hey j Donovan, when it comes to 'sharks' there isn't anything I can think of immediately for smaller tanks as all the freshwater shark options need decent sized aquariums. what I think may be an interesting lookalike is a longer body corydora like barbatus. also thank you for the 101'st like haha!
Hi Stephanie! they should be okay with salt but I personally have always used methylene blue or malachite green for medicating inch. bump the temp up to about 29-30 and dose the treatment (or salt) and it should clear it up fully!
@@fearthestroke8884 the only real and major issue is see is algae as blue light is like steroids for algae growth haha. hr other thing is power use but also there isn't really any benefit. I think its healthier for fish if the light is left off at night.
@@fearthestroke8884 oh right right, see ive never had that issue and it could be possible that your fish might be stressed out. one thing I would recommend is to get battery powered led light sickles. they are like $15 on Ebay and you can get like 4. just have one of them sitting on top of the tank. that should 100% calm them down at night even if you shut the lights off
Well if you watch the entire video you'd realise that I expanded upon what I mean by the rainbow shark being a Lone Ranger haha. At 9:16 I explain that its best to only keep 1 rainbow shark per tank and prior to that I also go through all the recommended tank mates. Might be better to watch the whole thing before jumping the gun haha
hey buddy, unfortunately incorrect. the rainbow shark has red on all the fins, whereas the red tail shark only has red on its tail. lifeoffish.com/differences-between-rainbow-and-red-tail-shark/

@@angelfishkeeper3027 100% they would love a few earthworms!!!
Bro I have a adult rainbow shark before and I introduced new rainbow sharks the it started chasing what will be your solution and how can stop it ?

I put one with 3 big Oscars... They are doing well💛
Good as! Hope it all works out long term as well!

@@Jezz16A1 there's no "shark" that can be in a tank under 30 gallons but for cool looking centerpiece fish most killifish or a Ram.
Any advice for treating ich in my tank with a rainbow shark? Can they tolerate adding salt?

How many rainbow shark should I get for my 55 ga tank?
oh probably only 1 hahaha! i would only keep one in a 100 gallon!
@@BodgieFromStraya Lol yeah. Crazy thing was I just bought 1 just a couple hours ago! Super stoked to see it tomorrow morning and see it thrive! 🙏🏼
bit late to reply haha but that's awesomeeee! how is he doing!
@@BodgieFromStraya He’s busy cleaning everywhere lmao. 😂 I haven’t seen him aggressive at all. Very friendly fish lol.

Never... I am always first.... hahahahaha! nahhhh AMAZING STUFF!
Do you keep the light on all day?
hey mate, the light is on from say 8:30 in the morning till about 7:30 at night so a fairly long time hahaha!

If u reply can u show a video how to tell the gender
hey mate! it is pretty hard to tell the difference because there are no immediate distinguishable features
So you explicitly said the rainbow shark needs to be in his own tank alone … then the next sentence you say it’s great for a community tank 😂😂😂

You've got a female there. Males are more slender. Females get this chubby belly look.
Awesome, thank you for that!
