I think you need a designated homeless and orphan fish tank a community tank that people can send their unwanted fish and then you could sell them on to people who do want them or even have competitions and use them as giveaways

Great video! I can relate to a silver coloured fish being killed by them…. They killed my leichardti 😢. Also scientific species names are written in lower case with the genus in capitals 😊

I used to have a 400 L tank with three tiger oscars eel tail catfish my friend's would come over and stare at that tank four hours and swore that all the fish had personalities like dogs😅

mt drea mtank is probably an Oscar tank with one Oscar of every morph just like your thumbnail in it along with some other CA cichlids like uaru, choclate , true arrot etc

Love oscars they were one of my first fish.Little story i went away for a couple of days over a weekend only to return home and found one of my Oscars on the floor.He had knock off a 6mm glass lid from the tank and landed on the floor.He was covered in dirt and hair and crusty.I thought he was dead but i threw him in the tank and he kicked.Within a couple of hours he was swimming.I n a couple of days he was eating again.

Take care when handling the eel tail catfish. We used to catch these (as a by catch) when (edit - bait) fishing for bass in the upper Tweed River. They have a nasty spike in the dorsal fin which can inflict a painful wound. BTW, once skinned and filleted, the eel tail catties aren't bad eating. FYI, when breeding in the wild, they gather small stones and sticks, placing them in an approximately one metre circle (nest) on the bottom of a still and shallow part of the stream. The mum lays the eggs in the centre of the nest and mum (or dad?) cattie gently swims around the nest guarding over it. Very easy to spot and an easy target when dropping a worm or shrimp on a hook into the nest!

My dad had a friend that would hook him up a bunch of mealworms for my chickens but he moved recently. My chickens love when I'm gardening as they snatch up all the worms I uncover. Since I was looking for a new treat source, this will be perfect for me. Thank you for all the information! And I'm sure my brother's lizard will be thankful as well!
