    My one was pretty aggressive, constantly chasing someone . Never hurt anyone tho , but my harlequins stopped swimming around ( just hidding in the corner of aquarium) . Specially feeding time he went crazy and attacked everyone, even bigger fish , he went for eyes . Since I put him in bigger one , which is more crowded but better set up I haven’t seen him chase at all , not even schrimps . That aquarium has many hiding places and obstacles he just loves that .

      It's interesting how moving your rainbow shark to a larger, more crowded aquarium with plenty of hiding spots and obstacles has helped improve its behavior. It's great to hear that it's no longer chasing other fish or causing any harm. Creating the right environment can make a big difference in fish behavior.

    Ok i have a Rainbow shark 1 black and 1 orange or albino always keeping each other away but last 2 days the smaller black one is swimming around orange one in a strange way very strange, can these 2 breed with each other?

    • @AquaWorldInfo
      @AquaWorldInfo  2 місяці тому +1

      Rainbow sharks are generally solitary and territorial, especially with their own kind. It's unlikely they're trying to breed; they could be displaying dominance behavior. Rainbow sharks are difficult to breed in home aquariums. Keep an eye on them to ensure the behavior doesn't escalate into aggression.

      Thanks for sharing your tank setup with me! It sounds like you have a great community of fish in your 240L aquarium. The combination of rainbow shark, tetras, pleco, corydoras, swordtail, guppy, and dwarf gourami is quite interesting. I hope they all get along well and thrive in their environment. Thanks again for your comment!

    My ones looks like this as well, but I seen full black ones , is this a different species? If I google rainbow shark there are these brownish and then rich black ones , what’s the difference?

    • @AquaWorldInfo
      @AquaWorldInfo  Рік тому +2

      Thank you for your comment! I appreciate your observation. The rainbow shark (Epalzeorhynchos frenatum) does indeed come in different color variations, including brownish and rich black ones. However, it's important to note that these color differences don't indicate different species.
      The variations in color can be attributed to factors such as age, genetics, and individual characteristics. Rainbow sharks typically exhibit a brownish color with a vibrant red tail, which gives them their name. However, some individuals may have darker pigmentation, appearing almost black. These darker variants are sometimes referred to as black sharks or black rainbow sharks.
      Despite the color differences, black rainbow sharks are the same species as their brownish counterparts and share similar care requirements. They are both members of the Cyprinidae family and are native to Southeast Asia. So, whether your rainbow shark is brownish or black, you can enjoy their unique beauty and provide them with a suitable habitat based on their species' needs.

    My rainbow shark cases my none aggressive fish

    • @AquaWorldInfo
      @AquaWorldInfo  2 місяці тому

      Rainbow sharks are known for their territorial and sometimes aggressive behavior, especially towards other fish that share the same tank level. If your rainbow shark is chasing your non-aggressive fish, it might be due to a lack of space, insufficient hiding spots, or incompatible tank mates.
      To help mitigate this behavior, consider the following:
      1. Tank Size: Ensure your tank is large enough. A minimum of 55 gallons is recommended for a rainbow shark to provide enough space to establish its territory.
      2. Hiding Spots: Add more decorations, plants, caves, and hiding spots to break the line of sight and give your other fish places to retreat.
      3. Tank Mates: Choose tank mates carefully. Opt for fish that are fast swimmers and can hold their own, avoiding slow-moving or very small fish.
      4. Territorial Behavior: Rearrange the tank layout periodically to disrupt established territories, which can reduce aggression.
      If the aggression continues despite these measures, you may need to consider rehoming the rainbow shark or the affected fish to ensure a peaceful aquarium environment.

    Its hard to breed Raibow shark

    • @AquaWorldInfo
      @AquaWorldInfo  6 місяців тому

      Indeed, breeding Rainbow Sharks (Epalzeorhynchos frenatum) can be challenging in a home aquarium setting. They are known to exhibit aggressive territorial behavior, making it difficult to maintain a pair without significant aggression or stress. Additionally, distinguishing between male and female Rainbow Sharks is not straightforward, adding complexity to breeding efforts. Successful breeding usually involves specific conditions, such as providing a separate breeding tank, creating appropriate spawning sites, and closely monitoring water parameters. While breeding Rainbow Sharks can be challenging, the focus on providing a healthy and well-maintained environment for their general well-being is equally important in the aquarium hobby.

      @AquaWorldInfo  Рік тому

      It's great that you were gifted a rainbow shark! They are indeed more comfortable in larger tanks like a 50g, but if you have a 20g tank, just make sure to provide ample hiding spots and maintain good water quality. Keeping an eye on their behavior will help ensure they're doing well in their environment

    • @AquaWorldInfo
      @AquaWorldInfo  Рік тому

      You are lucky that you have your fish even after facing all this for 5 months. When people are told not to do this, they think that there is no need for it. When we go to buy fish, then we see that the shopkeeper has kept all of them together. And we think that we can do the same. But when we bring the fish home and when these fish get set then they become very aggressive.
      So the only advice I would give to you is to seperate your fish so that it can live longer.

      Because their Habitat is like this. The more space this fish gets, the happier it will be. Due to less space, this fish becomes aggressive.

    Adopted a 25 gallon tank, extremely loud pump, bristle nose pleco, and a rainbow shark. (Biologist whom I acquired this from SWEARS it's a redfin shark). The fish is clearly a rainbow lmao. This Biologist also believes in the 'critical race theory', openly racist towards Caucasian men and is so prograsive supports segregation. Anywho...The rainbow is a diva and the pleco is most likely 420 friendly
