I bought this game a few days ago and only got a chance to play it yesterday. When i watched the preview in the stream store it reminded me immediately of Mount & Blade (also really happy it was inspired by it) so i was already expecting some jank. I haven't tried the"normal" difficulty and i haven't gotten a handle on the entirety of the rpg elements in the game, but i did manage to carry the soldier to retirement in a couple of sittings.
The biggest drawback to me in the game is the lack of patron interaction and the equipment disparity, because it seems instead of each item having any rarity the items themselves have a rarity tied to them (i.e. one item will always be godly and others will always be adequate). I know that's alpha stuff but for me that's what's really holding it back, other than the physics freaking out a lot. I hope that eventually (in sandbox mode perhaps) we can play multiplayer in both PVP & PVE scenarios.

Good review, definetly put this game on my radar.

Just found your channel and thought that your reviews were really well done. I'm looking through your channel and you have tons of reviews. Would you ever consider doing a "best game I played in 2022" type video? It would definitely give your viewers a better idea of what you're looking for in a good game.
Either way, I love your review style!

I appreciate you and your comment.
I’ve been thinking about doing something for GOTY, but I’ve recently been trying to refocus the channel on new releases…and its left me short on time trying to do anything but my conventional review format.
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Fair warning, it took me a while to get comfortable with editing/recording, so viewer beware if you try to watch the old stuff; there’s a cringe curve you gotta get over.

@@Maddmike I think your refocus on new releases (especially games that aren't getting reviewed by everybody and their Mom) is a great strategy. I originally found your channel because I was trying to find a good explanation for what ASTLIBRA actually was. Then I opened up your channel and realized that over 80% of my Steam Wishlist had already been reviewed by you. So whatever your selection process is for reviewing games, I would say it's working.
For the record, I bought ASTLIBRA. I'm about 4 hours in and would say that your review did a really good job of setting expectations for what to expect.

one gripe i have with we who are about to die is that there arent enough one handed weapons and no godly one handed weapons, and with me being an exclusively one handed weapon user, this is really fucking annoying

Pardon the unrelated, unsolicited recommendation, but if Signalis isn’t on your radar I think it might be something you’d appreciate. It’s quite special and very well done, imo.

I LIVE for recommendations so no pardons necessary.
I actually played Signalis a bit during one of the steam demo fests a few months back.
I considered purchasing and reviewing it, but I don’t have a ton of horror game experience so I’m not sure how worthwhile a review I could make.
      Thanks for commenting, cheers

Great Review I played on hour and i returned the game.
That been said , I think the game is great and i still think i might want to get it back , but I think the Dev needs to expand maybe to atleast 3? But with that I am afraid the game might change in to different dirrection more greedy rather then Passionate !
I din't like that's its a single player and when you do 1v2+.... it's just a mess they walk point blank towards you and there is no fun in that they surround you and you can't even move... you just hack and slash and lose a lot of health if you win...

I was really hoping in this game, your char fighting wasn't controlled. And you had to train them to be better. And most fights don't lead to a death. But sometimes they do, ND you spend your time managing your ludus and try to balance your income to training and buying new fighters. That's what I'm looking for. Good luck with ideo though.
