I did what Hanks did. I stopped and took in a deep breath of air. It was freedom's air I was breathing. I started to shiver. Maybe from being cold or maybe it was from the excitement of being free. I will never forget that morning.
only Steven Spielberg can pull off such a simple storyline into this masterpiece movie. at the end i was literally crying when Victor stepped out of the terminal finally..
It's a badly written scene though, because it would never happen in real life that police/customs take the law into their own hands and just let someone pass like that. While I can enjoy feelgood movies, Spielberg creates scenes that would never happen and it kind of kills it for me.

What I find most funny about this scene is he only went outside for max 2 to 3 hours got the autograph and then got a taxi back to that airport Lmao The manager of the airport gave him so much shit throughout the whole movie and all victor wanted to do was go out, get the autograph and come back lol

I know this film as its flaws. Movies aren't perfect. But, the vibe it gave. The emotions, the messages... The fact that it takes place in an airport and manages to make us focus on the important persons. That air we breath along with Victor when he goes out. And of course, the context in which I saw this movie. With family. Theses are the reasons why that film is my favorite. It made me so eager to travel and meet new people.

I love how the security guard “Judge” gives him his own coat and says "its snowing in the city and your going to need that, good luck" in such a kind, warm and unexpected way. Then the moment and music of Viktor walking through the doors out into the snow falling is simply perfect. I love how he closes his eyes as he walks out to the curb as though he was in a dream as the score plays. Then without a single word Viktor and Amelia look at each other, the emotions and expressions on there faces are all they need to exchange to understand one another and say good bye. Makes me tear up every time. I love this film. The ending really gets you in the feels and is highly rewatchable. One of Tom Hanks and Catherine Zeta-Jones best films.
