charusharu I have two theoties 1: Ash’s dad is sir arron and riley (I mean they are the same person) ash met riley in the anime, then he met serebii and time traveled to the movie. 2: (Just a random thought) Ashes dad is tim goodman and his grandfather is harry goodman from Detective Pikachu.
Hey Charles in episode 27 of swsh after Leon defeated lance and after ash waved to him Leon looked up to his father/caretaker and ash was kinda suspicious seeing his father/caretaker This is just a theory just check that thing out
@mr_mop281 honestly that could be a good theory they look identical and on the first episode of when ash sees Giovanni, Giovanni recognizes him and knows who he is.
Canon evidence that tell us about Ash's father: *He's a bad navigator (since Delia said it took 3 days for Mr. Ketchum to get Viridian City, when it only took Ash half a day to get there). *Rarely calls his wife. *Has "Lightning Blot/Z" shaped cheek marks. *And is possibly an anime version of Zeus, because there's a LOT of kids that look just like Ash with different hair colors [Richie, Arnold, the three kids from Dark City (the waiter guy is actually their stepdad), Travis, just to name a few].
I quite like the sad yet realistic theory that Ash's father is just a man who failed at becoming a real pokémon trainer and decided to disappear in shame because of it. Idk, dark stories really appeal to me for no reason 😂😅
Pretty sure Oak is like a grandfather to Ash, which makes the rivalry between him and Gary feel more personal. Like... If you felt that your own grandfather cared more about somebody more than YOU, you'd be a bit of a prick too.
@@KingKong11730 wait when he didn't remember his name? It always seem to me like his carrying equally about Gary and Ash (which still may be something what Gary didn't like as only he is Oak's real grandson...)
@@Lyokoheros-KLPXTV just a joke from the beginning of the red/blue games where he asks you what his grandson's name is because he forgot. Just memeing lol
If Ash's dad really is a trainer who failed and gave up, and in shame went away... It actually brings a whole new light on Ash's journey; he never wins, he gets to the league over and over again but. like his father, failed. But he doesn't want to follow in his father's footsteps of giving up and disappearing. It really makes his constant losses but constantly trying again in new regions look incredibly, chillingly different...gosh... Just thinking about it. Wow
I wanna say that the reason why Professor Oak likes ash and treats him well is because of the movie with Celibe. Ash treated him like a fan and helped him out when Oak travels to the future
Ash being World Tournament Champion not in your dreams because the odds are completely against Ash because Gary Oaks could be in the Top 8 if he's now the Viridian City Gym Leader which means the other Four could be Cynthia, Wikstrom, Iris or Grimsley and Steve Stone or Wallace!? Dianthia can't compete than Wikstrom will fill in for her! Steve Stone to busy than Wallace could fill in for him!
theres no solid evidence that pokemon journey had a reboot so ash might win remember ash is the alola champion+ he compete a lot of leagues and in the pokemon journey ash have a solid team Rilou(might evolve to lucario) dragonite, gengar, Farfetch'd (also might to evolve into Sirfetch'd) , and a dyanamax pikachu
Well let's look at Ash's "traits" . Fearless (Literally) . Dense AF . Athletic . Physically Fit . Aura . Skilled Pokemon Battler (Current Ash we're talking about) . Oblivious . Pretty much invincible . Emotionally strong . 10 Years old in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Unova and Alola (Acts like) . 13 Years old in Sinnoh (Acts like) . 15 Years old in Kalos (Acts like) . An evil teams nightmare . Caring . Kind . Idiotic (Most the time) . Calm . Somehow not depressed, dead or has a permanent injury So yeah I think it's..................... Character 18327440151036301620374620172034746402610. I mean it fits Ash the most
I still feel like Ash’s father is some raw ass extremely overpowered Pokémon master that’s just trying to complete his Pokémon journey. Like Gon’s dad from HxH. And when Ash is ready, his final challenge will be to dethrone the Pokémon master, his own father. That would be a wild conclusion to an incredible story.

I’m waiting for the episode when Ash and/or his mom mention his dad and we find out what happened or at least a picture or voice. I really want an episode on Ash’s dad. I want to see Ash reunite with his dad.
We know ashs dad was there for some of his life though. It was one of the sun and moon episodes where he is talking about his dad and some inspiring words his dad gave him. That's just something I'd like to point out
Ash is brave boy who is not afraid of death... He can also sacrifice his life to save the world .As seen in movies he had almost died several times so according to me Ash's Father might be also same as Ash. So maybe he had sacrificed his life to save the world and didn't come ever after.. unlike ash who is lucky enough to come again after dieing. (Wow my theory matches with your 4th and 5th case)
But the time when he turned to stone and and the pokemon move when we was erased from existence he died but came back because of pikachu but in the move with hoho he survived not because of pikachu but because of hoho
@@danimationsandlystreem1452 according to many theories ash never died he had just fainted or was about die so you can consider his health to be 1 hp.... Everytime when is soul was to depart from his body he was just saved
Ash's family tree: cousin Gary, uncle Bruno (Gary's dad), grandpa Oak, mother Delia, father Giovanni. Professor oak pays particular care to the grandson and daughter in law who was abandoned by his evil father. Gary is quite capable and has his father's traits, but oak and Delia are making sure Ash doesn't have HIS father's traits.
Ash’s dad is Zeus, which would make him a demigod. That is why he seems to be immortal and when he does seem to die he always comes back to life. His pikachu is probably a guardian sent by his godly father to protect him and bring him back to life when he dies. His tolerance for electric attacks as well as the marks on his cheeks (they look like thunder) can be used as further evidence.
Maybe Ash's dad ended up in another time because of Celebii or another legendary Pokemon. Or perhaps he's stuck in another dimension and that's why he is not a registered trainer. I mean Ash ended up in another dimension in the sun and moon anime. Who's to same something similar happened to Ash's father?
Pokemon world in the dark continent, Ging Decided he was lonely so he had some fun with delia then left off. After ging left the pokemon world he decided to get into a relationship with Gon's mom but she died during gon's birth and he didn't feel like taking care of a kid so he left him at whale island with Mito. TL;DR Ash is the son Ging forgot about.
I think the original theme song is actually about searching for his dad and he wants to be a Pokemon master so he can be famous and get people from every region hes been in (thats why he always makes friends in every region) to get the search for his dad started
It would be really interesting if Satoshi’s Father was still around but is shameful to return to his family but if ash wins against Leon and become the world champion upon hearing this his father challenges satoshi to a battle would be a shock no one would see coming. Perhaps facing his son will bring him hope again.
The odds are against Ash wining the World Coronation Series which is called that in the English Dubbed because Ash will be defeated by someone he knows like Gary Oaks, Paul or Richie! Ash never defeat one of a Champion Pokemon or even defeat a Elite Four members Pokemon either which Alain defeated one of the Kalos Region Elite Four members which was Malva!
@@leahschaffer7646 Dude its like you didn't even watch the anime because of the many things wrong with what you said; Gary Oaks quit being a trainer and continued being a pokemon researched; He will not even compete in the series and if so, be destroyed by ash; Richie is no way near ash's level and he only won that battle in the pokemon league with him because ash's pokemon were tired from fighting team rocket; Additionally, ash may have not have defeated champions in specific, however he DID defeat more powerful trainers than champions such as the leader of the battle pyramid with a bunch of regis; Additionally, if you watch pokemon journeys you clearly see ash progressing with his OP team and has a good shot of winning the coronation series
My vote is still on Silver: there is no contrary evidence, and from a meta perspective it is strange that the creators would intentionally put that reaction of recognition in there if it never meant anything. Actually, it could be spun to connect to that Takeshi Shudo story. Silver seemed to be on a journey of exploration (chasing Moltres) not trainer battling, so it could be that he's just not registered as a league trainer, and hasn't come back yet because he's still exploring. No idea on the grandpa thing though.
"No idea on the grandpa thing though." You just solved the mystery without knowing it. What if I told you, Silver looks a bit too old to be Delia's husband? And why is Ash's grandpa even relevant? Who cares about the protagonists unseen grandpa? That's like a question nobody asked, but Takashi Shudo for some reason thought was relevant. What if I told you Silver is not Ash's dad, but was meant to be his grandfather? That he reacted to recognizing the name of his grandson? Honestly think this is what they were going for, but like the GS ball, it didn't go anywhere.
Ashes dad is still becoming a pokemon master i think imagine if ashs last battle is vs his father and that is how pokemon ends or atleast ends and after while return and ash has all his friends there with him misty,Serena, brock, may everyone should be there when ash becomes a pokemon master and imagine jessie and james becomes 100% good at the end
Nah i give it around 5 to 11 more regions pokemon is a money maker and people like ash as the mc so they will just extend his travel but looking at him not getting older is getting kinda annoying tho but ill stay with
I like to think that, ash’s dad used to be a member of team rocket, before getting arrested. And ash’s grandfather used to be the team rocket boss, later died of a heart attack.
Lilith Mehojah I can see that, though it’s confirmed that Giovanni’s mom was the previous leader. It’s also rated somewhere that Gio has a twin brother... though we never see nor hear from him....
Yeah, Ho-Oh grants life, and Humans were once one-to-one with Pokémon, which spontaneously lay eggs sometimes. Why wouldn't Delia be blessed with Ash by Ho-Oh?
there are some hints on why red can be ashes father: 1. red chose charmender, while ash WAS going to use squirtle but he came late, possibly for an advantage 2. red chose charmender, well, you know, because fire is red and his name is red as well, but what does a fire leave? ashes..... "ash" 3. not to mention, red has black hair just like ash 4. dahlia strikes a resemblance to green, they even have brown hair (although dahlia has a darker tone than greens) but dahlia does have a more different name than green 5. it may be coincidence, but look at ashes team in season 1, we got pikachu, charizard, squirtle, bulbasaur, pidgetto and Taurus, what's weird is that most of ashes team resembles reds in pokemon gold and silver, he even catches a snorlax + temporarily, a lapras but, we all know that ashes real father is mr mime
Red left his Pikachu behind with oak and was given to his son. the Pikachu is extremely angry at red/ash in I choose you. It hates being in the Pokeball because it reminds him of red. IT ALL MAKES SENCE
Ash's dad's name isn't Ketchum, since Ash got Delia's last name. Or perhaps it is. Though, my main theory is that the Anime will end with a battle between Ash and Leon. Ash wins and returns home to celebrate with all his friends. Then, suddenly a mysterious man steps into the room and requests a battle with the world champion (Ash)... His son, who did succeed in what he could never accomplish.
you forget marriage is a thing and when you get married your family gets the males last name. also ash being immortal means his dad is most likely immortal thus meaning hes not dead.
@@jdogzerosilverblade299 True. Though I have a feeling that we're either going to be seeing Ash's dad in this series or that they will never show who he is.

@@TheOGButterfreeguy oh yea also the fact that ash cheats in battles. he doesnt use moves sometimes. for example one thing he did was tell charazard to pick a pokemon up and drop them. that is not a move that is well cheating. for example have a pokemon that can fly grab lets say charazard picks up mudkips fully evolved form (half asleep so i forgot his name) brings him up 500 ft in the air and drop it making it faint in an instant. what move was that?
he died in the war and turned into missingno, that is why you first see missingno at lavender tower, and then at cinnibar. and this is also why missingno only follows you and not any other particular trainer thats my theory
Okay, after hearing everything, here's my theory; and it blends a few of the ones in this video, but makes a lot of sense, and ties up some loose ends of other theories: Ash's dad failed as a trainer and killed himself (which Delia doesn't want Ash to know, obviously), which is why he is not listed on the list of legendary trainers. His grandfather is still on his journey (Silver, from the Chronicles episode), and therefore has no mention on the list of legendary trainers either (but knows of Ash's existence, as implied in the episode). On top of this, Silver bears a striking resemblance to Prof. Oak, which indicates that they potentially may be brothers; and because of that indication, it's possible that the reason Prof. Oak is always hanging around Delia is because after the tragedy of Ash's dad's suicide, Silver (who had just lost his son), asked Prof. Oak to watch over his daughter-in-law and grandson as a "father figure" for Ash. Ever since the Chronicles episode, this has been my main theory (and head-cannon) to explain the odd things about the series (Ash's dad's non-existence, and Prof. Oak's constant presence). Furthermore, nothing in the source materials contradict any of this, as that episode with the mist occurred *after* the soft-reboot of BW; but, even if the original backstory for Ash's dad was still present in the writer's heads during that episode, it would make sense that if Ash's dad viewed himself as enough of a failure to kill himself, rather than return to his family, he wouldn't want to show himself to Ash out of shame; and thus, never showed up in the mist.
First in all the soft reboots their is no mention of Ash's father returning to see delia. And when you fina looked into Ash's mind it could have piggy backed Ash's memories of delia to pull Ash's dad from her mind if he was dead. Because it is only stated that someone can speak to a dead loved one it does not mention they must know of the death
I like to point out that the picture in episode one shows a man in a green track suit something like how Sabrina's dad appears in. All we know about Ash's father are the following 1. Black hair 2.max age is 35'ish 3. Him and his father are not on the legendary trainer list aka no league/contractor appearances or wins 4. He is most likely alive
Theory: Red is Ash’s father I know people would be like “Well that’s impossible!! Red defeated Team Rocket and disbanded it while Team Rocket is still thriving in Ash’s time”. Well, consider the possibility that Red did help disband Team Rocket in the anime timeline, but Giovanni had brought back Team Rocket by the time Ash was born. It’s also possible that Blue/Green, Red’s rival, is Gary’s father, and that Blue/Green is the son of Professor Oak, thus making Gary, Professor Oak’s grandson. And for Misty and Brock, and all the other gym leaders and people still existing in Red’s timeline, they could be much older in Ash’s timeline, but younger in Red’s. Plus, I also think the Pokemon world is a floating timeline. Anything could happen. Ash’s parents were confirmed to have married and had Ash young, seeing as Delia was only 19 when Ash was born, so Red would also be around her age. Red and Delia would be one of the youngest parents ever in Pallet Town. Ash’s father is also confirmed to be a Pokemon trainer still on his Journey. Red is also a Pokemon trainer still technically on his journey, but on Mount Sliver. Ash’s father Red could be still out there, waiting on the top of Mount Sliver for his son to come back and battle him. Red would still be on his journey on Mount Sliver. Remember, this is the main Anime version of Red- not Origins Red or any of the other incarnations of Red, so he would be much older then his other counterparts to be the father of Ash. Delia also said that Ash’s Dad took 4 days to get to Viridian City when he first started his journey. It also took Red 5 days to get to Pewter City. Red could have taken 4 days to get to Viridian City, and an extra 5th day to get to Pewter City. A much younger Brock would have officially taken over the gym from his father by then in Red’s timeline. So yeah, I think Red, a much older version of Red, is Ash’s father.
Nice theory and that'd be cool but Misty and brock is around ashs age which kind of breaks that theory. There is no way in hell Misty would be a 35+ in age traveling with ash. I would prefer ashs dad a champion somewhere and the finally would be ash beating him in the end to be champion sending his dad home finally.
@@neroknight1234 Yeah, although I did say that Misty and Brock, amongst all the other gym leaders and people still existing in Red’s timeline, they could be much older in Ash’s timeline but younger in Red’s, and since I go by more or do the arbitrary age theory, Misty’s age of “10” wouldn’t be how long she has lived but rather her familial status. Misty and Brock could have been alive a lot longer than Ash, so who really knows. And I also believe that the Pokemon world runs at a floating timeline, so Misty and Brock would have only aged a few years then they were back then. But we can only speculate, adding in the fact that Ash’s parents married and had Ash when young. Plus isn’t Red a champion himself? That’s something to think about here.
Next-gen should be the last generation of the Pokemon series either with a time skip where ash is finally an adult or at least 11. Like holy shit please just have him be 11 already
Technically, they had at least 1 "Anniversary" episode, so he is at least 11. (The episode centers around the gangs Pokémon trying to keep Togepi out of trouble and then they have a party at the end, if I remember right, its been years since I saw it last.) And to those who might not know, Ash started on his 10th birthday. so the Anniversary episode would mean they have traveled at least a year. However, I understand if people do not count the little side episodes that don't really have much if any trainer/humans in the episode as "legitimate" episodes.
OMG LOL I think so too "ash is born he sees his mom and looks over to the side to see his dad but he's like right ima head out and runs faster than a rapidash and the rapidash is like -wtf..........
What about that one guy who owns a unofficial Pokémon Gym in the filler episode of The Indigo League? He has the same spiked hair and lighting marks on the cheeks as Ash.
The best plot would be that Ash's father and grandfather were so determined to train the best pokemon that they trained legendary pokemon, but because villains would forever hunt them down to capture these legendary pokemon, they felt best to leave civilization and train in remote places where they could never be found. Would explain why they are not found in the trainer's database.
@@tompatterson1548 dawn are may are trainers trainer is just the term for anybody that owns a pokemon cordinators or breeders are just sub of trainers the only thing we seen that isn't trainer is a rescue ranger
My theory for the original anime intent for Ash’s family - Maybe Ash’s father and grandfather did something politically seen as wrong? As a result they were banned as official trainers, their ranks taken away and exiled from journey starting towns. Daila went back to her maiden name and changed Ash’s last name to match. I believe chronicles had it continued would of revealed Silver as Ash’s godfather and best friend of Ash’s parents.
They might have actually cheated. Used performance enhancing drugs on their pokemon or something. As a result, they got a lifetime ban from all official leagues. There was definitely something going on with Silver. Now that I think about it... don't you think it's a bit strange that Ash's grandfather is even mentioned or relevant at all? Like, who cares about his granddad? I'd bet you that Silver is not Ash's dad, but his grandfather, and recognized the name of his grandson. That really is the most plausible explenation, and I always did think Silver looked significantly older than Delia.
Well I have a theory that Ash's Dad and Delia actually travelled together and that Ash's Dad is actually a very powerful trainer who is probably ther in the Super class of the world Coronation series, there are 8 trainers in the super class and we only know 3 of them, maybe Ash's dad turns out to be a salty person who is very cross with himself about not being able to become the Pokemon master even after training for so long and wishes to return to his Pallet Town to his son and wife. Maybe they can actually show Ash's dad as a super jerk rival for Ash, who actually has a battle with Ash and badly injures one of his Pokemon, he might be the one that actually defeats Ash and sends him out of the World Coronation Series. And about thinking why Ash's dad and Delia travelled together, we know that Delia is a quite competent trainer she used Ash's Litten in the SM Series to defeat Team Skull and then says that "being good trainer runs in their blood" which not only is a nod to Ash's dad but also to herself who was once on a journey. I guess after the duo travelled for sometime they actually got married and settled down in Pallet Town, I also think Delia was raised in Pallet Town itself as from the Unown movie we know Delia was a student of Prof. Oak. And when Ash's dad and Delia settled down in Pallet he grew a good friendship with Oak. Then Ash was conceived and after staying with them in Pallet Town for sometime Ash's dad might have thought that his goal isn't accomplished yet and thus decides to go on his journey leaving Delia and Ash behind, he entrusts his Pokedex to Oak and also asks him to take care of them. He has been on his journey ever since but has not been able to achieve it. That's why we have never heard Ash or Delia ever get cross when talking about his dad but the tone gets a bit more serious when this topic is brought up. Ash knows that his dad wantedy to be the very best in the world and getting a family shouldn't stop it. That's an attitude that Ash has picked up and hence never very much mentions or talks about his previous companions in earlier generations or even about his own family as he does not want anything getting between him and his dream. Well this is not something they might do but it would be kind of awesome. My another question would be, what happened to Gary's parents and why don't we hear about them???
Well I mean, I'm pretty sure Giovanni is related to Ash but not infact his dad. According to google, because I never watched the full series, the father of Delia, Ash's mom, is actually Silver. But Silver is the son of Giovanni. But I mean, this is google so I'm not sure if it's accurate.
@@infinitewy You're mixing up two different characters. There's the red haired Silver, son of Giovanni, and the Pokemon Chronicles' Silver, an old man Ritchie met. People believe the latter might be Ash's father. However, there is no conformation of that.
It can possibly work out that way. Viridian and Pallet Town are right next to each other. And thanks to the Entei movie, we know that Delia has been in Pallet town since she was a student of Professor Oak. They could have met in Viridian forest in all those years next to it. Giovanni as a gym leader would train there and Delia as a student would be researching there.
I would like to see a Pokémon series reimagined where Ash actually grows up and let’s say he starts in Kanto at 10 and actually ages and progresses through the different regions one year at a time let’s say. That’d be pretty sweet.
@5B subs challenge Serena was the closest to Ash in terms of a relationship, it doesn't matter who we all ship with Ash (me myself I'm an AdvancedShipper), Serena will be the one to end up with Ash
I feel like this is a hunterxhunter reference. My reasons: 1: both gon and ash’s fathers were not their for them growing up. 2: both ash and gon begin their journey to be like their fathers they barely knew. 3: both ash’s mom and gons aunt doesn’t talk much about the father during the anime.
Here’s a theory: Ash’s dad journeyed to the Alola Region and at some point, falls through an Ultra Wormhole winding up somewhere thousands of light years away in Ultra Space surrounded by UBS.
I think they will never reveal who Ash's real dad is...I mean the creators said they will make him appear but i doubt it,i think the creators say that yeah they will one day make him appear but they say that only to shut the people up...
I think Ash’s dad is a really busy guy and couldn’t come to see him frequently. And the time when his dad come to see him, he’s on his Journey in a different region. So that’s why we don’t see his dad. My opinion only.
Scissors if it’s Journeys, that’s true. But in the other generation, Ash don’t have a smartphone. And Delia don’t know which Professor Ash will met, which totally make sense why Delia can’t tell Ash that his dad is coming. And the time when Delia called him, his dad might have to go.
Scissors she might tell him when he got home. BTW he only came back home from Sinnoh to Unova, Kalos to Alola and Alola to now. He don’t come back home when he go from Kanto to Johto to Hoenn to Sinnoh and from Unova to Kalos.
You mean Ash's Ancestor could be connected to Sir Aaron's family if he had another Sibling like a Brother or Sister!? Sir Aaron Brother or Sister could have had 2 kids which one of them is Ash's Ancestor and the other one is Riley Ancestor means Riley & Ash could be half related!?
Or you know it could all just be a coincidence why Ash's aura is the same as Aaron's because, well, you know Ash tends to be a lot of things. It wouldn't be that much of a stretch that he'd also happen to have the aura of the main guy of the story that it was being told-
Unpopular Opinion: Ash doesn't see his dearly departed loved ones, because he doesn't love anyone (besides Pikachu). In the ongoing animation there isn't anyone from his starting point left, he doesn't contact a single soul from his old days. Perhaps Ash himself is immortal now, and walks away from the people he comes to know to spare himself from becoming closer to them...
I feel like Ash’s father is Red: the original protagonist of the series. How he’s not around and is still on his journey is something to ponder. However, the characteristics are somewhat similar. If Red is Ash’s father, is Blue Gary’s father and how does Red know Oak and is also old enough to know Ash? Is it possible Blue and Red met a younger version of Oak? I don’t know why Red would abandon his family and never come home, but it might explain why Red is always on top of Mount Silver and is waiting until his son is strong enough to beat him. As for the records on the PC, that is where my theory may falter, however it is possible he pulled strings to not have them show his name or trainer status. As unlikely as it sounds, that’s my theory
What if its chase the pokemon lets go protagonist? We know from the game that he is on his journey the same time as red so its not impossible. But for story symmetry red makes more sense Edit:spelling
This is like looking for a needle in a haystack, but you first have to find the haystack!! Ok, so Oak’s NOT Ash’s BIOLOGICAL dad, but could he be Ash’s STEP DAD
This isn't a theory but if Ash's father did show up let's say the world championships in Pokémon Journeys as a trainer I think this is how it would go: After battling many strong Trainers, Ash waits for his new opponent then a man walks out onto the battlefield who looks very similar to Ash, Gou says to himself " that man Ash is battling looks similar to him... could it be? " after battling, Ash won and can enter the semifinals. The man look shocked after defeat not because he lost but because it was his son, Ash. Ash asked the man " Hey you okay? You don't look so well ". The man smiles and says " I'm fine " before the man leaves the battlefield he says in a kind manner " I was just shocked that my own son beat me to it " . Ash looked confused at first but then realized that man was his father, but before Ash could say or do anything the man was gone. Ash smiled and left as well to meet up if Gou, who was waiting for him. That how I think it would go, what do you guys think? : D
Nice but why not make him second best only to Leon show ash dad feel like he's close to achieving his dream only to be bested by none other than his son
I dont mean to be that guy buuuut because its a netflix original they had it clear in the subtitles that its spelled goh and they have the right to say it is spelled that way, or at least I think if I'm wrong someone please tell me
@@seanakinskywalker2619 In the original Japanese version, his name is spelled with the katakana letters "Go" and "u". In English, yes, they changed it the "u" to an "h" for the sake of localization, so you're definitely correct when it comes to English. However, it's not incorrect to say "Gou," just as it isn't incorrect to call Ash "Satoshi" (his Japanese name).
Imagine there’s an episode where ssj meets his dad in the future, and ash is waiting for his father to appear. And all of a sudden we hear footsteps of some polished black shoes, and after that we hear a subtle “Ry! Ryhorn!”
Disdanny not really red isn’t the other version of ash, ash never fought the elite fours or completed the pokedex while red did. They’re from different timelines
The "it's red" theory one doesn't work in the sense of pikachu, because pikachu actually became that strong because pikachu actually got destroyed by brock, and then brock's dad gave pikachu that "jumpstart" by overcharging it in the hopes that pikachu would grow accustomed to the high voltage. After that, pikachu beat brock, blah, blah, blah. Although you can't really grow that strong by just being like "hey pikachu take this electricity", so pikachu could have been owned by another trainer before, which would explain it's attitude, and how pikachu is more experienced than a level 5 lab pokemon. I think that pikachu was level 20 or something when ash got it. "Pikachu" count: 10
I think by the time he meets his dad will be when they decide to end the series entirely of Ash and Pikachu, have his father be the final trainer they battle or something.
Ash's quest is almost complete and when it is done he will have a "new" quest. His final quest. Having brought honor to his family he will seek out his father (and grandfather) and unite his family once again. This has been his original quest all along. Which is also why Ash has appeared to be a timeless character for so long.
Isn't there some theory or such that says or states the Catchem isn't actually Ash's real last name. It was just a name his mom used to separate herself from being found- or to protect Ash from his father's and grandfather's legacy-to give him a clean slate to be his own person and his own trainer without having the stigma of his real name holding him back or to impossible standards.
Ash's father was a young boy from Pallet Town and he is a dear childhood friend with Delia. His personality was same as Ash. He wanted to be a pokemon master and went to pokemon journeys to different regions and made a homeback to Pallet Town. During the time the friendship between Delia and him turn into a love and they married in young age. After short time Ash was born. Ash's father had responsibilities against his family now but still wanted to continue his pokemon travels. After he planned everything for his precious wife and new born son he went his journey again. His plan was turning back to Pallet Town and his family of course. However this time something went wrong and Mr. Ketchum dissappered. It seems intead of training his pokemons and challenging rivals, he run to danger for saving others. Maybe one day Ash can share same destiny as his father. Delia felt very sad after losing contact with her husband. She didn't know is he alive or not. However she had a bigger problem at this moment. What will she say to Ash about his father? First idea is creating a positive character. She tried to say him, he is a great pokemon trainer. It worked a bit. However Ash continued to ask about his father. Moreover Ash's personality started to look like his father's. Delia started to worry about one day Ash will start to seek for his father and disappear as him. For Ash's sake she decided to create a negative father character who left his family because of his selfish ambition for becoming a pokemon trainer. It worked. Now, Ash doesn't think, talk or know about his father and Delia continues to keep the secrets of losing of Mr. Ketchum. How does absence of his father effect Ash? Well, I think he doesn't hate his father. He hates nothing. Just his father doesn't care Ash and Delia so he doesn't need to care him also. He never talks about him. Story of father of Lillie and Gladion was not enough to remember his own father for Ash. If Ash learned something from his father, it would be a pokemon trainer cannot be a good husband and father. For becoming a good trainer you need to travel and travelling is not suitable for a good husband. One reason of his low level interest to girls can be that idea. Another reason is you know, he is just 10. I think maybe next year maybe after 10 years Ash will learn the truth about his father accidently or directly from Delia and he will go to seek for him.
The idea of him being a trainer who failed to even be recognized and stays away from his family in shame not only makes sense with culture Pokémon comes from, but with the context of it being from a medium created by the man who primarily sculpted those first few episodes, which would be the most important ones in the context of tracking the Ketchum's history at this point, I'm with this being the definitive answer. Whether or not he shows up at all eventually? Well let's see I guess
The thing with Oak is easily explained. It's obvious Oak sees Ash as a son like figure. (I think he likes Ash more then his own grandson Gary) and it's obvious there is a father-son like dynamic between Ash and Oak. But Oak being Ash's biological father is a laughable idea. Also, as far as who his father is, I don't really care or think it is necessary and Ash's father being Red is more hilarious. The simple thing is that Ash is Red's anime counterpart.
Giovanni to ash: I am your father Ash while he is looking down the big hole and Pikachu falling: Oh shit It was a star wars reference and you can laugh!!
I really hope that ash will be able to beat his father by the end of ashs reign😄and while we're at it maybe Delia could be there for the climactic battle as well??
I don't think, Red is Ash's father. There's no way Ash's Pikachu belonged to red, watch first episode of Pokemon journeys. Prof. Oak looks the same in Pokemon origins and red goes against Giovanni and also captures Mewtwo, but in Ash's world, Mewtwo is free out there and probably Giovanni from Ash's world never met Red. So it makes more sense to say that Red is Ash's child more than telling Red is Ash's father. But I don't think either of them are correct, I think it's just a multiverse, Ash is the protagonist of his series in his planet/universe while Red is the protagonist in his.
i also think it seems more likely that ash is actually reds dad since red has some some similar features to ash & Serena since it suggested they getting togehter Also then it completes who is red's dad and where he is by using Ash got Champion of Kanto before blue wins in the Games in order to not appear in the games
Why when talking about red in the anime, does many people jump into origins red instead of just a *different* Red? An red that was there before Giovanni was in team rocket, who fought the rocket leader's mom, but ultimately failed in the league, and disappeared to train?
Whatever the canon answer may be, I am perfectly happy with my nonsense head canon with Ash's dad being Professor Sycamore. Nothing to defend, just sharing the theory I've enjoyed for the last few years. I've never understood the Giovanni theory though. It is fun seeing all the different fan theories out there, true or not. Thank you for a fun video even if I've found it a year later than you shared it ^-^

i personally like the fan theory that there was an offscreen war shortly before the events of generation 1. Which is why male parents and grown men in their 20s to 40s in general are exceptionally rare in the pokemon world.
One of the biggest mistakes that Pokemon theorists make when addressing Ash's father is the fact that none of them take into account Japanese culture. Japanese families often have the father constantly out working while the mother stays at home to raise the kids. And this is depicted in the media. Ash never even asks about his father. Everyone assumes Ash's father isn't there. But really, it could be as simple as his father wasn't there to see him off that morning. There's probably no real mystery other than an unanswered question. I'm just proposing a theory that, rather than making a more out there claim, I propose the theory that it's much more mundane. Mr. Ketchum was probably just off to work.
okay sounds good, but to never mention him. ash and delia never talks about him. He is never home. ash never asks when is dad coming home. like if they mentioned him like once or twice in a casual conversation i would agree with you
@@Joseph1_00 Why would he need to ask? Why would the topic be brought up? It's actually been confirmed that Ash's father is a trainer. And in the anime, you don't see Ash's home enough to make a proper assessment about how often his father is home. Also, most anime that I've seen has the father missing from the picture.
@@Joseph1_00 They wouldn't question it for the same reason Ash wouldn't question it. It's common. And considering that, as I stated, Ash's father is a trainer himself, that's all the more reason why they wouldn't question it. In fact, why would you assume that his friends would question it, regardless of where his father is? When I was a kid and brought friends home to visit, they never questioned where my father was. Here's something to consider. Where are Gary's parents? Or where are Misty's parents? Where's Brock's mother? Actually, the question of Brock's mother is a better question than Ash's father. Brock's father was a deadbeat dad, leaving Brock to take care of his siblings. So where is his mother in the equation?
@@Joseph1_00 No Delia talked about him once, in I believe the second or third episode of Pokemon indigo league when Ash got to the pokemon center right after leaving his hometown to go on his pokemon journey (forgot which town the pokemon center is in) He calls his mom and lets her know where he is and she talks about how it took his father three days to get there and how he is the apple of his father's eye. Also in other episodes she mentions that Ash's dad and grandfather are still on their journey to becoming a pokemon master.
His dad is a ditto and ashes mom was simply feeling it one mourning. Although in all seriousness if the final theory is true. Then it will be one of the best reveals ever. Because it adds so much more depth to ashes development. if he were to be an added aspect to his life. Making him powerful, but unaccomplished would make him far more realistic and impactful than an overpowering trainer. Maybe one that lost his favorite Pokémon a long time ago and left to look for it but never came back believing that if he continues looking he’d eventually find it. Imagine if that was ashes fathers backstory. Imagine how many lessons the anime could tell in just that storyline. Ash trying to convince his father to stop chasing his long lost friend and return. Only to be rejected because he makes a similar analogy about what ash would do if pikachu went missing.
I think Giovanni is Ash's Father Giovanni hired Jessie And James to watch over Ash everywhere he went. Also That Pikachu was once Giovanni's pokemon Diz is not Solid Proof so do not believe iz just a theory
I remember watching memories in the mist (great episode) and kinda hoping Ash would see or at least mention his dad considering the mists abilities to make those who have passed away reunite temporarily with someone close to them.

Professor Oak is Ash's grandfather. His son was first married to Gary's mom, but left to be with Ash's mom and that's why Gary doesn't like Ash.
Or Gary's is his half brother :0
Ash's family tree: cousin Gary, uncle Bruno (Gary's dad), grandpa Oak, mother Delia, father Giovanni. Gary is quite capable and has his father's traits, but oak and Delia are making sure Ash doesn't have HIS father's traits.
Ash’s dad is Zeus, which would make him a demigod. That is why he seems to be immortal and when he does seem to die he always comes back to life. My vote is still on Silver: there is no contrary evidence, and from a meta perspective it is strange that the creators would intentionally put that reaction of recognition in there if it never meant anything.
Actually, it could be spun to connect to that Takeshi Shudo story.
Bit dark but good 👍
Woah, that good🤠
First in all the soft reboots their is no mention of Ash's father returning to see delia.
All we know about Ash's father are the following
1. Black hair
2.max age is 35'ish
3. Him and his father are not on the legendary trainer list aka no league/contractor appearances or wins
4. He is most likely alive
Bro….they wouldn’t do that in a kids show.
According to a Pokkemon Fandom wiki, Adam Ketchum is Ash's father, and Silver Ketchum is Adam's nephew
The why does Giovanni didn't recognize Ash?
Theory: Red is Ash’s father
I know people would be like “Well that’s impossible!!
Awesome you spended time of your day to right this awesome theory

My theory for the original anime intent for Ash’s family -
Maybe Ash’s father and grandfather did something politically seen as wrong? As a result they were banned as official trainers, their ranks taken away and exiled from journey starting towns. Daila went back to her maiden name and changed Ash’s last name to match. I believe chronicles had it continued would of revealed Silver as Ash’s godfather and best friend of Ash’s parents.
His name is silver just like Giovanni son
This... Oddly spessific 👁️👄👁️

@MASTER OF POKEMON Leon, Lance and Reihaan
I'm still sticking to star wars theory. Giovanni is Ash's dad

Unpopular Opinion:
Ash doesn't see his dearly departed loved ones, because he doesn't love anyone (besides Pikachu).
But for story symmetry red makes more sense

This isn't a theory but if Ash's father did show up let's say the world championships in Pokémon Journeys as a trainer I think this is how it would go:
After battling many strong Trainers, Ash waits for his new opponent then a man walks out onto the battlefield who looks very similar to Ash, Gou says to himself " that man Ash is battling looks similar to him... could it be? " after battling, Ash won and can enter the semifinals.
The man look shocked after defeat not because he lost but because it was his son, Ash.
Ash asked the man " Hey you okay? You don't look so well ".
The man smiles and says " I'm fine " before the man leaves the battlefield he says in a kind manner " I was just shocked that my own son beat me to it " .
Ash looked confused at first but then realized that man was his father, but before Ash could say or do anything the man was gone.
Ash smiled and left as well to meet up if Gou, who was waiting for him.

Ryhorn!”
Red is his father we all know this.
Well, I checked the timeline of the games vs anime and it wouldn't add up unless an eleven year old got an eighteen year old pregnant
dark fang Um clearly he’s a different version of him.
no
Disdanny not really red isn’t the other version of ash, ash never fought the elite fours or completed the pokedex while red did. They’re from different timelines
No no, his father is Mr.mime right?
"Pikachu" count: 10
so u not gonna say mister fought red
I think by the time he meets his dad will be when they decide to end the series entirely of Ash and Pikachu, have his father be the final trainer they battle or something.
Ash's quest is almost complete and when it is done he will have a "new" quest. His final quest. Having brought honor to his family he will seek out his father (and grandfather) and unite his family once again. This has been his original quest all along. Which is also why Ash has appeared to be a timeless character for so long.
Cool theory and all but we know his father was actually Magikarp
Wow,I cant believe i read that
Wow..what a brilliant theory 😍
Even tho he’s not I feel like kukui is his dad he just seems like that father figure to ash for me
The idea of him being a trainer who failed to even be recognized and stays away from his family in shame not only makes sense with culture Pokémon comes from, but with the context of it being from a medium created by the man who primarily sculpted those first few episodes, which would be the most important ones in the context of tracking the Ketchum's history at this point, I'm with this being the definitive answer. Whether or not he shows up at all eventually? Well let's see I guess
The thing with Oak is easily explained.
It's obvious Oak sees Ash as a son like figure. (I think he likes Ash more then his own grandson Gary)
and it's obvious there is a father-son like dynamic between Ash and Oak. But Oak being Ash's biological father is a laughable idea.
Also, as far as who his father is, I don't really care or think it is necessary and Ash's father being Red is more hilarious. The simple thing is that Ash is Red's anime counterpart.
Giovanni to ash: I am your father
Ash while he is looking down the big hole and Pikachu falling:
Oh shit
It was a star wars reference and you can laugh!!
He just went out for milk and cigarette and a mew. Took him into space for a probe
I really hope that ash will be able to beat his father by the end of ashs reign😄and while we're at it maybe Delia could be there for the climactic battle as well??
That will be one hell of an episode. A very nice way to end the anime too.
I think it would be nice if Delia gave that man one hell of a slap (or lecture) for not being there for his son
But I don't think either of them are correct, I think it's just a multiverse, Ash is the protagonist of his series in his planet/universe while Red is the protagonist in his.
i also think it seems more likely that ash is actually reds dad since red has some some similar features to ash & Serena since it suggested they getting togehter
Also then it completes who is red's dad and where he is by using Ash got Champion of Kanto before blue wins in the Games in order to not appear in the games
Bah, cuz it's actually 2 mewtows
Why when talking about red in the anime, does many people jump into origins red instead of just a *different* Red? An red that was there before Giovanni was in team rocket, who fought the rocket leader's mom, but ultimately failed in the league, and disappeared to train?

I think Giovanni is Ash's Father
Giovanni hired Jessie And James to watch over Ash everywhere he went.
Also That Pikachu was once Giovanni's pokemon
Diz is not Solid Proof so do not believe iz just a theory
Sorry I don't want to be mean but Jessie and James are only following Ash because Ash's pikachu is stronger than a normal pikachu
@@IAmBored654 I think Giovanni is ash's father too in pokemon advanced ash's dad is in a picture and whenever Giovanni see ash he wheres a mask
I seem to remember that in the original English airing of the episode with the Viridian gym, Giovanni introduces himself to Gary as Giovanni Ketchum.
I remember watching memories in the mist (great episode) and kinda hoping Ash would see or at least mention his dad considering the mists abilities to make those who have passed away reunite temporarily with someone close to them.
Imagine... Just imagine if the next episode of Pokemon journeys is about ash's dad
