    Thank you for the upload and video! I always enjoy it and it's a nice little fun part of my day to spend with you and mecha.
    My take on this game is that you were playing with your eyes half closed, relying on your system to get a win and playing, basically, a one player game. Loosing rounds woke you up, and you engaged your opponent and then did great. The missile play I thought was especially good, the combination of the tech and the deployment on the left side was really pivotal and clever (though I think some of them were placed in a bit of a panic, the core idea was amazing use of available resources to counter). My teacher in go always told me that you must remember there are two players who have equal rights to the game. Ignoring that is not just bad tactics, but it's disrespectful to your opponent, who has accomplished a lot to be there across from you.

      Also, I admire that you will share a weaker game, and that you engage with your audience and have the super power of being able to listen to suggestions or reflections on your own ability. Respect.

      That is a good take. I think that's why I continued to place Phoenix down. I sort of addressed what my opponent was doing, but ultimately continued on with what I wanted to do versus what I should be doing. Spot on, Philip.

    Watching this at 6:31 and I’m like “why did you get those phoenixes?” Bro what?

    I am surprised you like to take super supply enhancement. As you said in previous videos, you tend to win in round 8 so wouldn't it be better to take something for max aggro/tempo like advanced offensive or like anything else (or skip) on round 4?

      Thanks, Jalabanga!! It was tough because I knew I wasn't playing clean. But even bad wins are still wins.

    Would Marksmen Emp have made sense?
    Also where Do you get those statistics?

    • @LastZepp1
      @LastZepp1 День тому +1

      Why tho?
      1 shot already takes down the shield, the armor wasnt THAT relevant since mustangs are busy AMing him to oblivion

      I keep stats in an Excel sheet of each 1v1 game I play. That is a good question about EMP. As far as EMP on Marksman goes, with Anti-Air, they already do a lot of damage, so each Ray is essentially two-shot with or without EMP. If I added it, it would let Mustangs contribute damage to the Rays, but only for a short window until the Marksman got a second shot off.

    My end of video grade before you self evaluated.
    C. Tldr You eventually switched to the winning solution, but were far too slow in doing so.
    Phoenix seems a mistake to me.
    You were still placing crawlers and arclights 2 or 3 rounds after he switched to phantom ray. I was confused why you didn't place more fangs or switch to mustang sooner( i.e round 4).
    Rhino only helped on the very last round when you'd already hit critical mustang mass.
    Does that seem fair?

      Yeah the Phoenixes and the Arclights definitely had me scratching my head. Think he thought he was getting caught up on the ground units maybe?

    • @WhoopedGG
      @WhoopedGG  11 годин тому

      You bring up a good point--why didn't I switch to Mustangs sooner? I think in round five, when I placed the four Marksman, instead of also placing a Phoenix and ranging them, I could have placed Mustangs and ranged those instead--especially since I thought he was going Wasps anyway. That probably should have been the play. Why I didn't do that, I'm not really sure. :D

    There's nothing wrong with the play. One thing about being slow to react is that you win on the economy game. The mustangs were a lower commitment than the extra tech phantoms. He was so far sunk into phantoms he failed to react. I would like to see what would have happened had your opponent anticipated the mustangs and dropped sandstorm wurms.
    It's another reason i like burst mode on phantoms, is too drop aggro and get it in the tanks. Kind of like a carry wasp play

      You know, I am very curious as to how many Mustangs one would need to limit Burst Mode Rays. I wouldn't need them to shut them down completely, but in general, I wonder if I would have won or lost that round if he had Burst Mode instead of Shields. Lvl 2 Worms would have been an interesting pivot.

      @WhoopedGG i honestly think the tech I would drop is the armor. The sheilds are better with stealth, they'd survive a heavy hit from a marksman, drop aggro to a melee tank (rhino, sledge, wurm). The armor is useful only as a free chaff unit tying up stangs and fangs.
      They're a weird niche, wasp = chaff,dps, tech chaff clear; phantoms= tank, med unit clear; wraith = tank, chaff clear

    Economy 11/15 is ridiculous, even if you arguably missed 500 potential credits throughout the game it would be extraordinarily challenging to match you economy in a different match. Early boost to production, tower abilities bought and used both at appropriate times, 0 lost free deployments, in my eyes econ was easily 15/15. In the same vein abilities and temporary assets while not working out how you envisioned because of the firebadgers actually worked out better then if you didn't have em. Oil upgraded to fire, fire ready to go as a threat opponent has to react to, and imminent repeat of the same actually forced opponent to go pure air. If positioning is included in composition then thats the only score I agree with. Need to think more about exactly when and where your backline will converge. The only thing you really could do better is read your opponent, especially when you force their plays.

      I appreciate the feedback. We're our own worse critics sometimes. In the moment, I felt worse about some of the things that happened. After watching it back, I feel a little bit better and agree with you about oil working out and the economy being better than I originally thought.

    Every strat relying on phantom ray is just troll. Marksmen doubleshot would have helped you a lot in clearing this madness faster. Phoenix range was not needed and you should have sold them off. The moment you get the marksmen you can sell the phoenix and tech into marksmen. I see you dont run doubleshot. Its my most loved tech on the marksmen and you should think on switching it in instead of elite marksmen. Everytime I play sniper i go doubleshot. Didnt miss the Elite marksmen yet.

    • @WhoopedGG
      @WhoopedGG  11 годин тому

      In round five, when I dropped four Marksman, I definitely shouldn't have also placed another Phoenix and range it. 100%. I'll try out Double Shot! I like Elite, but I feel like I might use Double Shot more. I'll give it a try.
