One of the most amazing things of MJ is that we haven’t seen any other player until this day that can do some of the things he did. For example, in football (soccer how some lame people call it), you can see over the time how some players add to their skills some plays, dribblings, feints, etc. from other players of the past and some of them even improve them. In Jordan’s case, I haven’t seen other player do the things he did or at least do them like him. He really is one of a kind.

He was the first to do such smooth and flawless moves, shots, dribbles, defense! He was breath taking to watch!!! Everything else that came after him was a version of him!!! So its impossible to compare!!! Everybody watched closely And emulated everything this man did!

I was lucky enough to have lived outside of Chicago between 86-90. I wasn't really a Bulls fan per se, but Jordan basically opened my eyes to recognizing a once in a lifetime talent on live tv. You know someone is truly legendary if you can realize it watching them in their prime. Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Joe Montana, Bo Jackson, Larry Bird... players like these, were truly a privilege to have watched them play in their prime.
I grew up in the Chicago area with Jordan in the 80s and 90s. It was an incredible thrill ride, and a once-in-a-lifetime show. The NBA was never as good when he retired in '98 in my opinion.
That's what most people forget. Is on top of the offense he played the lethal defense and that does indeed make him it. And you look at the league then he was playing in and how tough it was compared to nowadays... you can't come close enough you can't get in the paint you can't touch them?
Greatest player I’ve ever seen play and imo greatest of all time. I was lucky to have WGN in my town so I could see the Chicago cubs and the Chicago Bulls play. Every game Jordan played on we would rush home to watch because there’s only 50 moments here but this stuff happened every game, it was just what’s he gonna do this game. You didn’t even have to watch every play we would eat dinner and casually watch and every time they took it down the court MJ would do something magical. GOAT IMO
WGN was a superstation/national...it just was cable outside of Chicago instead basic TV. That I also was lucky to grow up in Chicago during this era. Agreed.

I had the honor to serve him at Madison Square Garden when the Charlotte team was the bobcats and he was looking to buy a team. He was 100% Class Act. My most memorable experience and moment while work at MSG. There's others but serving him was an honor
Here's what people feel to realize his rookie season he averaged almost 30 a year after leaving College and being clamped down by James Madison and held to 16 points because the man could not score against the Zone because he wasn't a great outside shooter but zone defense was illegal in the NBA you couldn't double team a man off the ball I guarantee you if they bring back that illegal defense rule Steph Curry wins at least six more championships before he retires

MJ has no quit in him. I liked any team that could beat the bulls back during their championship run years. Always; I've enjoyed the pure all around competitive fire that Michael Jordan displayed through all those years. He may have posterized more opposing players than anyone for his time on the hardwood courts.
Jordan was must see TV everytime he was on the court! Four things that made him special! 1. He would jump and you would think he was at the top of his vertical, but would then go a bit higher. 2. He could control every part of his body like no one else. 3. He had the perfect body for basketball! 4. His will to win is indescribable!
One of the most gifted athletes in human history. Still has the nba record for vertical leap I believe. More importantly, probably one of the most savage competitors as well. Just cut from a different cloth. There are a lot of great players in NBA history but nobody ever had all the pieces to work with that Jordan had. He will always be the guy whom other’s greatness will be compared to.
MJ didn’t only have the 6 rings and 6 finals MVP’s, but he was a 9 time 1st team defensive all NBA, 10 time scoring champion. Literally the only thing Lebron has over him is longevity.
How was MJ not as versatile? The man literally changed how he played from one coach to another and became better for it. Not to mention he could play defense and set up plays.
That brings me back great memories. I was a huge Laker fan of Magic Johnson, Worthy, Green, Kareem , so many great games against Celtics, Pistons Thomas, Rodman, Salley etc but when Michael Jordan started playing he raised the bar such an exciting time to watch him play basketball back then, thanks for sharing.
