Exactly! And that, if for no other reason, is why Lebron will never be the GOAT. Lebron wants so badly for people to believe that he is, because deep down, he knows he's not.

@Zarkarian64 I agree with everything you said. Lowering the standards, seems to be the norm, whenever industries are run by people who don't respect the past and embrace shortcuts. The NBA isn't about competition anymore. Propaganda and narratives take center stage, while they disrespect the foundation of the game and the legacies of the past generations of players. It's like watching politics as they try to convince the previous, generations of NBA fans, that what they are watching, is the best brand of basketball, ever. Meanwhile, they continue to gut the game's integrity and soul with all the rule changes, player empowerment at the expense of player accountability, and emphasis on a small, handful of players, instead of the plethora, of talent throughout the league. It also, doesn't help that players aren't loyal to the fans/organization and are quick to team hop, stack the deck, and play less than 65+ games each season.
Everytime Jordan had the ball in his hand, people were on the edge of their seats waiting to see magic, and he didn't disappoint expecting hardly ever.
Seeing Michael play is like a little kid watching Michael Jackson dance for the first time, it leaves you stuck in awe, you seeing real talent on its highest level.
Tiger Woods had that iconic moment with the chip in at 16 at Augusta, but he still isn't in the same league as Jordan. The only guy as dominant statistically was Sir Donald Bradman. I never got to see him bat obviously, but I heard he had that Jordan electricity from a great uncle.
Only player to be scoring champ and DPOY in the same year. But here's a crazy stat. In his last year with the Bulls, MJ held the ball for just a little over 3 mins per game. But despite this, he still scored a shade under 30 a game. Nuts.
LeBron has skills. You don't win multiple MVPs and get to be the all-time leading scorer without them. But MJ is still the GOAT. People feared MJ. They called him as the GOAT while he was still playing and except for a few crazy dudes like GP and Vernon Maxwell, nobody dared to talk trash to him.
@kingdave31 he does have skills but inferior and unpolished compeared to mj, he's overhyped, he's like a Karl Malone playing point, he's a superstar player but he shouldn't be in the goat convo, scoring leader is because of how long he has played not because of his exceptional scoring ability
@@kingdave31no where next to MJ level of skills… yes LeBron has an understanding of the game and has elite passing with athleticism but that makes him more comparable to Magic if anything
It's simple: watching Jordan just made you want to go out and _play_ basketball, watching Lebron just makes you want to *post* on social media!!! Jordan doesn't need to be called the goat, Lebron does... tells the story right there.
Saying LeBron is the greatest basketball player of all-time just means you are too young to even understand that James doesn't even play an all around basketball game with actual fundamentals, skills, and they don't let the opponent even compete against James ...Jordan had to literally overcome actual scouting reports, coaches, and intelligent players and teams who could defend and make adjustments -- the only team Jordan couldn't beat was Detroit; you had LeBron losing to Dirk, Curry three times, and Duncan twice while only beating Jimmy Butler and needed Green to be suspended and the Warriors' front line to be out while needing Kyrie to bail him out as did he need Popovich to take out Duncan in game 6 in 2013 and Allen to hit that shot for that guy to even get those rings ... plus, Jordan never joined Thomas or went to Magic to team up with Magic and Worthy to win because he couldn't get it done -- could you even imagine that? ...Jordan loses from 1988-90 says he doesn't want to be 30 years old with bad knees so he takes his talents to Los Angeles to play with Magic and Worthy -- that's what James did. HAHAHA See, James gave up on himself and we never know how his career would have wound up, same with Durant, gave up on himself ... now Durant had to get out due to Westbrook being an ef-up ... I mean that guy will ef-up anything when it comes to basketball, he's literally stupid and cannot win but plays hard and that's all he has, but James is overrated.
I'm a MJ follower. watch all these vids when they drop. you have an "old guy is a shit take". And haters do go after Labron to much for his comment. We know Labron was out of his mind when he said he was the GOAT. But we make mistakes. it's a knock against but at the end of the day if Labron was the goat the comment would have been true. Overconfidence is a quality in a Pro. It can be forgiven. After labron retires we will see a more reflective man. Then we can start to "judge". I can't wait. I'm with you man. Just don't hate to hard. Labron is crazy good. Not sure, but if you are my age 40's. Go watched some more Labron. I decided to dive in more and the guy is amazing. I didn't really watch his peak before. did crazy stuff. But no, still not the goat.
@@fishtailfuture All those guys really suck; Jordan was great but individually great but could NEVER BEAT DETROIT until the league helped him in 1991, the Pistons, the NBA, Chuck Daly, and the refs LET JORDAN WIN in 1991 and then the Pistons broke up their team to keep Jordan winning. Why? It's a business so keep the money flowing so everyone gets paid -- that's all that is, it's not real at all. As far as LeBron James, he's just a stat-padding work-out guy who the league makes great but he has all that so-called talent yet he's a 60% loser in the Finals. I mean this is the reality of all that which we have seen and that entire Jordan vs. LeBron debate foolishness is fake .... Anyone who has seen both play knows to even have a conversation about that is just because there's nothing going on in pro sports worth watching and people like to argue to make themselves feel intelligent, confident, and superior because it generates more content more 'for' or 'against' just like in politics over stupid issues that mean nothing and fools buy into this stuff. What does it matter anyway? Okay, let's all believe this guy is the greatest, okay no, that guy is the greatest. Nobody ever stops to think that 'all-time' means 'all-time' and 'time' isn't over? What about the rules that were changed to make the game easier over 'time'? You change the game, you change the rules. The rules were made easier by the league to help Jordan and were made easier to help LeBron. It's not basketball, it's 'Watch this guy tap-dance on stage so everyone can buy the merchandise he's selling and believe what I tell you to believe...' -- That's what this is.
@@plainsimple244 Yup, we would have lost a LOT of respect for Jordan if he went ring-chasing like that. One of the many reasons why he gets as much respect as he does, is because he did it "right". He stuck through the bad times, Got Pippen, and started cooking from there. It still took some years before he got his first ring with Pippen, but he pushed through and made it happen. Lebron bailing on Cleveland to start the ring-chasing is one of the many reasons why he gets as much hate as he does.

Exactly, he's never been the coldest in his era, and he's never been that dude. Kobe was by far the coldest, and was that dude, then it was Curry. Lebron's just not that guy.
I love your attitude bro, and I really like the respect you show, and I even agree LB is your favorite player but I do have to disagree on something: LeBron Never dominated his era, wining 3.4/10 is not domination, I could say Curry dominated a portion of his era, Duncan definitely did, Kobe did, LeBron never did, having to leave your team in order to team up with 2 other of the best players in the league and still coming out short, and then having to do it again, it's the complete opposite of domination. LBJ is a great player, I will never say that he's not, but he never had the mental toughness to be a real champion.

Well stated. Lebron was a great player, face of the league, and a household name but he definitely did not dominate. Those other players / teams you mentioned were in the mix as well. Warriors are probably known as the dominant team during his era.
Yup, ESPECIALLY if somebody told him he couldn't. He would do it for at least one season, just to prove he could, and then we'd see from there. You CAN'T give him that much room with no hand-checking.
Athleticism, lay up package, footwork, consistent mid range, defense, not scared to go to the rim over 7 footers, and clutch. Dude had it all, I barely got to see him but he's still the best I've seen and these highlights amplify it that much more. Kobe and Wade are my favorite players but MJ is the greatest basketball player because he had the whole package and impacted the game so much. A guard was not supposed to be dominating a physical league full of big men and he made it look easy.
EXACTLY‼️ He was a Guard that dominated a league full of dominant big men! He wasn't supposed to had done what he done. MJ was unprecedented. That's what a lot of the younger generation doesn't understand lol.
And they weren't aloud to travel like today and everything wasnt called a "foul" back then. Also, Jordan played like this 90% of the time. Every game was a highlight reel. I do not see how anyone can even compare Labron to this, much less todays players at all. It isnt even the same game.
It's always funny and telling watching guys like you reacting to this. The world has been choosing Jordan as the GOAT for decades. Because he is great at everything. Why else would we give him the title of GOAT? Jordan had it all. It's always "I didn't know Jordan had handles, played elite defense, could shoot, could jump like that, has that lay package, could dominate the post etc etc etc. do your homework youngblood. LeBron is a really good basketball player. He's not on Jordan's level point blank period. If you actually watch with honest eyes you will see all the ignorant narratives melt away. This idea that Lebron "carried" his teams to the finals, every single one of them, is wrong on so many levels. The only time he truly carried a team was the Cavaliers in 2007, and then he left them because he was tired of losing. Other players were tired of losing with their teams as well, but they stayed with their teams because they were trying to do something great for the franchise. Michael was on one of the worst teams in the 80s- the Bulls. The thing that the Bulls were missing were the letters H-I-T. But guess what- unlike Lebron, Michael stayed with the Bulls and kept going forward. They eventually got Pippen and Grant, but they weren't the players that they eventually would become in 1991. After 2009, Lebron tried incorporating every single super star he and his manager could get their hands on, and that made him "take his talents" to Miami- the dude couldn't even say he was going to the Miami Heat for whatever reason. Lebron definitely knew how to play the game, and he knows how to manipulate things. But for some reason everyone wants him to be the most glorious players ever. The only thing he'll be remembered for is his longevity.
They will say he carried a team but when he loses like all the time they turn it into a team sport then but they says he carried them until the lose makes no sense but mj all day long live Kobe then they can include the rest and that's just my opinion

The 90's was awesome time to be a sports fan, we had Jordan in basketball, Griffey in baseball, Tiger in golf. MJ had middle aged white women watching the game, he was simply electrifying EVERY GAME.
Not to mention the Dream Team essentially making it all a global phenomenon. Every game was a home game for the Dream Team, taking pictures and signing autographs before the game, but once that whistle blew, it was all business, and the world ATE IT UP!

It's not an era thing. Jordan is the best player of all times, and there is an actual granular analysis that proves no one comes close to being as great as Jordan in the game of basketball. Not even close. The analysis is on UA-cam. I can't remember the name of it. It's very objective and such a good mathematical approach to take.
with MJ, every game is fun to watch, the people who was able to watch MJ play got spoiled, you can't see MJ hanging back on defense, can't see him standing around the 3-point line. then you compare his game to Lebron, flops, no bag but the tomahawk and alley hoops despite the loose defense in the current era... MJ don't bulldoze the defense, he goes around it or above it :)
@@SHELOVEGROOVYWhat you don't understand is that most of the guys that are shifty in the NBA got tips from Kobe. True, but he even said it himself, without Scottie Pippen, there would be no MJ. Everyone needs at least a little help, and MJ got his in the form of the best sidekick of all time, Scottie.
@LucianDevine no doubt but there would definitely still be MJ without Scottie MJ destroyed the NBA before playing a single game in it Jordan never needed Scottie to be great the bulls did So you could really put any decent sidekick there and the bulls still doing what they did but without MJ you wouldn't even mention Scottie in that way

I was born in ‘86 and my first love was the Mark Price Cavs. I spent almost my entire adult rooting for Lebron, here we are. Lebron obviously is a great player in his own right but, MJ literally had it all. The reason we even have “GOATs” is bc MJ dominated the sport of basketball so thoroughly. I honestly believed Lebron was “the best basketball player ever” after 2016 but I also knew I was too young when MJ was playing to actually comprehend and/or analyze his game. So I went back and did my due diligence on MJ , and never did I ever think I’d ever turn into some gd Michael Jordan fan but, here we are. And TBH, it’s not just that the deeper you dive into MJ’s career the more impressive it is, the deeper you look into Lebron’s career, with an objective lens, the less impressive it honestly is….
I recommend watching the MJ Voyager (1&2) videos along with his greatest defender and world's greatest highlight reel. Some good MJ vids to further show his skillset and talent.

That's what we say. It's not even open for discussion. Tell me when he passed Kobe, Magic, Kareem, Tim Duncan....
Born in 81. Jordan was a major part of my childhood. Simply iconic.
Everytime Jordan had the ball in his hand, people were on the edge of their seats waiting to see magic, and he didn't disappoint expecting hardly ever.

Only player to be scoring champ and DPOY in the same year. But here's a crazy stat. In his last year with the Bulls, MJ held the ball for just a little over 3 mins per game. But despite this, he still scored a shade under 30 a game. Nuts.
9:14 And it wasn't just the athleticism; unlike Lebron, Michael Jordan actually had skills.

LeBron has no moves doesn't play defense it can barely shoot free throws
@@fishtailfuture The problem is this. If Lebron was the GOAT, he never would have had to say it. So the sheer fact that he said it is proof that he knows he's not.

Also, there was hand-checking, big men in the paint, and so on. Apart from that, superstars would be superstars in any era. So accurate. 💯
Curry is better than Lebron
I love your attitude bro, and I really like the respect you show, and I even agree LB is your favorite player but I do have to disagree on something: LeBron Never dominated his era, wining 3.4/10 is not domination, I could say Curry dominated a portion of his era, Duncan definitely did, Kobe did, LeBron never did, having to leave your team in order to team up with 2 other of the best players in the league and still coming out short, and then having to do it again, it's the complete opposite of domination.
LBJ is a great player, I will never say that he's not, but he never had the mental toughness to be a real champion.
I agree 💯

Well stated. Lebron was a great player, face of the league, and a household name but he definitely did not dominate. Those other players / teams you mentioned were in the mix as well. Warriors are probably known as the dominant team during his era.
In today's era, prime MJ would average 50 a night.
After watching this, I believe it 😭
EASILY!!!!! No flaws in his game! NONE!!!
Yup, ESPECIALLY if somebody told him he couldn't. He would do it for at least one season, just to prove he could, and then we'd see from there. You CAN'T give him that much room with no hand-checking.
You can't hand check or get to aggressive on defence . Mj and iverson would average 40 easily
To me he would’ve retired earlier if he played today from pure boredom
That's what a lot of the younger generation doesn't understand lol.
on the other hand, those 7 footers are scared of him
Jordan got DPOY and scoring title in the same year
And they weren't aloud to travel like today and everything wasnt called a "foul" back then.
It's not a comparison bro. LeBron can be your favorite player but he is not the GOAT. There's a difference. GOAT means something, you can't just throw that term around.

Dunk champ too
@@PuhiPureBloOdYT My favorite part of the dunk champ part, is because of how nice it was to actually see the stars in the dunk contest. Now, most of them don't even participate...
In lebrons era Steph curry has beaten him 3 times in the finals. We are not the same
Average 50-60 he would be the best offence and defence player lol
Just gotta do yo homework on MJ
And he didn’t ever miss games because he specifically cared that fans would pay hard earned money to see him.
born in 77 and this man was all we ever wanted to be like, I wanna be like Mike! GOAT
For Me its Michael Jordan : The 1984-1993 ( First Three peat ) Version Of M.J aka Black Jesus Was on a Whole Other Level. I was born in 1974 and still watching NBA basketball No disrespect to all the Greats before and after him.
You better know it Mr King.
Jordan changed the way the game was played. GOAT! Brought the game to the world. He single handedly turned NBA into a world wide sport. Once in a lifetime athlete. No one could do what he did at that time…..GOAT. Everyone afterwards are simple hangers on.
I get the chills watching this highlight reel EVERYTIME! brings back so many incredible moments in my childhood! MJ = GOAT
Language has been lost.
It's not who's your GOAT. It's whose your favourite player.
There's only one GOAT. You're watching him. Feelings don't defeat logic. Facts 👊
Just say it bro…Michael is the GOAT 🐐!!!!
also he smoked cigars and still does
bruh you can tell this was your first time, your reactions to the highlights were real!! and funny as hell lol love it
'Clutch'? Lol .. NOBODY is more clutch THAN Michael Jordan.
