Your channel is such a breath of fresh air in the middle of so much negativity in the world. I used to play your channel for an elderly woman I took care of who had dementia. She grew up on a farm with a large family. She loved it and it comforted her. Her family made the decision to put her in a home, she was struggling with her mobility, Her husband does stay with her during the day. Thank you for sharing your lives with others.
Just want to share a little more about this couple and farm life. They both grew up on farms in Iowa in large families. Their work ethic was amazing, I also cleaned their home and it had a beautiful simple order to it. She is one of the most calm and gentle of people I know. They have been married 65 years, he agonized over putting her in an assisted living and stays with her all day as long as he is able. In her dementia all she loved to talk about was growing up on the farm, their garden, her parents , her siblings, her chores, her mom was an expert seamstress who constantly helped others. Her favorite thing we did besides this was reading the Bible. What is amazing is this couple had owned very important factories across the nation that they built up from scratch. She crunched all the numbers. Their factories made a large amount of parts we use every day in our appliances, vehicles, home goods, machines used in restaurants, etc..... it's vast. They sold it to retire comfortably, Brilliant people. Their children worked for them and went on to run their factories and one now manages one of Amazons major factories. I'm sharing this to show how farm and family life created amazing character qualities and work ethics , and at the end of the day what was still in her heart and mind was farm and family. She loved it and her siblings , there were 8 children.
@@angelahagood3639 I'm so glad it blessed you! This woman , this couple, have been a blessing and honor to know and care for and the Boone farm family such an encouragement .
What a beautiful comment, and I couldn’t agree more. Such a breath of fresh air. I need to go antiquing because she’s inspired me to get some thrifted fall decor, just a touch. ❤
I absolutely love keeping house! I’m 63 now but I remember as a little girl of 6yrs old I dreamed of a day when I could cook, clean, sew and rearrange for my family. Children are grown and gone now but I continue to do all those things and have more time now to reflect on them.
Totally get that. I’ll be 42 in a couple of days and it’s so funny how you brought back memories of my childhood. I loved the same things. And my poor Mama would get so aggravated with me because I would wait till after church on Sunday night to rearrange my bedroom. Knowing that I had to be up early for school the next day. 😂
Me too! I would love to stay a weekend in their little Blue guest house-it's so beautiful. BUT, if it were mine and I had children still at home-NOPE. No strangers overnight, on my property around my children.
I really enjoyed this cozy video. I really enjoy watching videos of ladies going around the house, putting things up and decorating. It just inspires me to get things done around the house as well. ~ Janet 😘
After time as a teen in small town Kansas I envisioned a life in a farmhouse like yours. My life is nothing like that now I’m an adult, I live in the city near the beach in a highly sought after area yet I still just want the Kansas prairie farmhouse and I escape there when I watch your videos ❤
Love the simplicity, practicality, and beauty of your home! And having a cozy place to sit in each room, such a good idea, especially as homeschool mothers like ourselves 😅
So beautiful! Thank you for encouraging and inspiring other women to be content and creative to bless our families!! You’re such a great example of that.
Lisa, what you have done to this old farmhouse is remarkable! The furniture finds, the artwork is just incredible. It is the homiest house ever, filled with so much love❤
I look forward to every new video of yours, it helps me slow down and realize what's really important. You are hands down my favorite UA-cam channel :)
Oh my gosh, LISA! I've been making quilts, simple curtains, and pillows for years, but for whatever reason, haven't thought about a sham like that!! And the 1" trim stitch is just GENIUS!! As most quilters do, I have a stash of excess fabric and several threadbare pillows....whoopee! Watch me go, lol!!! THANKS!!! Big hugs!!!❤
I always look forward to seeing your videos! I’m older, and have regrets of not being as intentional about making use out of different things the way that you do..imo, your home and the way you all are living is a fond example of the American dream 😊
Beautiful Lisa. The effects of your minimalism of kids toys but your careful choices of what you do bring in to your home really do show in this video as you wander room to room and straighten them up and give them a clean... but there isn't cr*p every where! Just beautiful spaces warmed with your thoughtful and collected choices. An inspiration to me
I absolutely adored this one, Lisa...... so calming, so lovely, so full of warmth and care for your home, as always. I loved seeing the rooms & how you make it all work for your family. I love the light pouring in to the living room, the fall blankets, the cozy lights. Thank you for sharing a small part of your lives with us - - I've always been fascinated with farm houses & farm life. 💗
you home is really warm and sunny. i know when your children mature they'll look back at their childhood home with fond memories. i grew up in a suburb near Miami, i know i'm a city-ish girl ;) My childhood home was south and west facing. when i see bright warm rooms it reminds of the times my sister and i happily played with our dolls :)
🤣 I feel the 6 boys! I have 6 boys and one precious daughter. Pray for our family, please. We are currently attempting to sell our home in town so we can continue with our purchase of a beautiful home on 8 acres. 🤩. We are currently under contract but if we can't sell our home in time it won't happen. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I noticed you are wearing the dress you made! Very comfy! I think having sitting space in each room is a great idea! You make housekeeping look sooo relaxing. Only you Lisa could make it seem so effortless!😊
I laughed when you spoke about having rowdy boys in your home. We had 3 boys (still Have them but they're grown and starting their own families now), but man, they could work over their rooms and all the rooms I the house when they were playing and roughhousing. - I miss that. Never back then, did I think I would. Lol.
Your house is definitely lived in. That’s how mine was when mine were little. My Mamaw had plastic covers on EVERYTHING! Because us five grandchildren were just being kids. Your home is so cozy. I have yet to decorate for fall, but you’ve inspired me. I wanted to thank you and your sister for teaching me how to use essential oils in cleaning. I make all my cleaners now. I use them when I clean for others also and the freshness they leave behind is always complimented on. Thank you for teaching this old dog some new tricks! Love those pumpkins welcoming your guests! 🫶🏻🥰🙌🏻
I couldn't love your home more at this point. The colours , patterns and textures are perfection. I love all the beds you have . We had to go with antique cast iron beds for our boys. Haha Thank you for sharing the beauty of changing a home for another season. ❤❤
Lisa I so enjoy all your videos. You are a precious gem. I love your energy and your home is so lovely and decorated just right. Comfortable and cozy. Lisa you are aging backwards, you look like a sister to your girls instead of their Mom♥️ It’s all that clean living and fresh air. …blessings beautiful lady 🌺🌺🌺
Your house is simply charming. Where so many people want to fill their home with the newest, shiniest furniture you have created an inviting, cozy home by giving well loved pieces new life.
Lisa! This might be one of my favorite videos yet. I’ve been here for years. Just the satisfaction one gets after a day spent like THIS! Your dried flowers in the pitcher …on point. That is exactly now I do fall. So peaceful. Thank you so much! 🍁 🍂 🏡 ❤️
I'm in my 40s and just moved to a 1960s home that needs a lot of updating. I'm having the hardest time figuring out my decorating style. Even some of the things from our old house I have donated and just don't like anymore. I definitely lean towards simple and neutrals, but have a hard time making it all work. Your home always looks put together and very intentional.
It’s not my home, but I would suggest obtaining furniture in the style of the era of the home and keeping the kitchen and bathroom cabinets and fixtures intact if they are still in good condition. It really ruins an older home to me when it looks like a beautiful home with a certain character on the outside, but inside, all the character has been “updated”. It’s so incongruous to me. I love older homes, though. I, just giving you something to think about.
Maybe start saving and gathering images of rooms that you love...pinterest is a good place for that. As you begin to have a good amount of saved images...look through them and really study what it is exactly that you like about the room. You might start to find some common themes that will help you get started.
We have always heated with wood as well. That first fire is always so wonderful. Everything looks so cozy. I love decorating for Fall with handmade items. Bowl fillers, pillows etc.
I really love how the 2 bedroom makeovers turned out. I also love the idea of storing pumpkins on the porch in the cooler weather so they can be provide decor now and be used as you need them. Our weather is pretty wet here, so that might not work for us, but I always enjoy seeing the differences in how people live relative to their climate.
I love your old farmhouse. There's so much charm and history in them. I've always wanted one. I admire you having 6 boys and how much time and love you put into your home for them.
Love to see that one of the girls is reading Anne of Ingleside! So many similarities between the lovely home life described in that book and your beautiful videos. ❤
I just love your antique home, it's so gorgeous. I love how you have renovated it, the picture frames, your kitchen and everything about it. So gorgeous
Ahh Lisa !! I love this so much and you are such an inspiration to me! Thank you for being such a light and you are so fun to watch! Your videos are always so fun and inspiring. Thank you for sharing your day to day life with us and I love all your videos. I have been baking a lot this week but I love it because I have a small business and I have another order for this weekend which is amazing! I would love to make ice cream from scratch but I don’t have the attachment though but one day! Ilysm and I hope you’re having an amazing day 💕
Lisa! Question about postpartum and fitness... Do you have any tips for how you've gotten strong and fit after each of your pregnancies? You look great! I had my 3rd in February and feel like I'm really struggling. I don't have the "bounce back" mentality that is so pervasive, but I have found it discouraging that I'm holding onto extra weight and feel sluggish this time postpartum. I focus on eating real foods and not restricting calories especially because I'm breastfeeding. Wondering if this is such a challenge because I'm 30 now! I'd love to hear your mindset toward your health and what you focus on during that first year post-baby!
I love doing this sort of thing. I'm in college right now, but I'm visiting home this weekend, and I can't wait to help shuffle things around and make spaces new!
Your house exudes comfort, food, family, love and so much more. Every room is charming and full of warmth. Thank you for sharing so much of your life with us. ❤
