My sweet two little boys got together their allowance and asked dad to buy me your daily sourdough recipe book🎉❤ they even paid for me to get it "fast delivery," as they said. I love it, just as much as I love your channel❤😊 Thank you, Lisa. God bless you!
Lisa's videos really touch my heart. You bring peaceful yet meaningful moments, from cooking for the family to taking care of the house. The warm and passionate images in the videos make me love life more. Thank you Lisa for sharing these precious experiences, helping me see the value of the little things in everyday life!
Victor's sweet little blond curls look exactly my son's did. He will be 22 in December. Glad you and I got/get to enjoy our sweet boys as a stay at home and homeschooling momma.❤ Those years were wonderful but went by way too fast. I now am blessed to be a Nonna ( grandmother) to his little baby girl. I'm so blessed by my daughter in law, son and granddaughter. Everyone hold your little ones close and love them❤
Thank you for your videos, they always very encouraging, plus I really got in to sourdough because of you. Now iam teaching other lady's in Spanish how to make sourdough ❤😊 thank you Lisa for your hardwork
Good morning! Missed you last week, but understand everyone needs a break sometime. Your videos are so peaceful as well as informative. I always look forward to them. Blessings! 💙💙💙
I found you and Sue about the same time. I made everything for my family but I had been gluten free for 10 years. It was hard smelling all the goodness without partaking. After hearing testimonials from Sue about people with gluten intolerance being able to handle the home milled flour I finally got brave enough to give it a try. That was about a year ago. I did a bite one day. Two bites the next day. By the end of the week I ate an entire loaf of bread. I had some catching up to do after 10 years of gluten free! I’m thankful that both of yall have provided so much good content so that I can feed my family better options without feeling too deprived.
Sue Becker from bread beckers. That’s who Lisa was talking about hearing a podcast that got her pumped up about home ground. Sue’s book has helped me so much. And the footnotes are where I can nerd out. She was a food scientist that worked for Kraft for years and then used that background to research health benefits of milling at home.
THANK YOU for doing whole grain recipes! I have been wanting to use less and less of dead white all-purpose that raises my husband's blood sugar WAY too high.... thank you! Whole wheat is sooo much better for us! ❤
Not to take away from Lisa’s channel but for more whole grain information and recipes I have found the channels, “Grains and Grit” and “Bread Beckers” to be a wealth of information from their years of experience ❤
I love how u move thru ur house like a dance!!!! Your kitchen skills are so tuned in w/ ur rhythm! The sourdough bread stretch & folds make for great baked goods! Thank you 4/ sharing ur skills. ❤️🥰🙌🏻🫶🏻
I’m in Saint Charles MO and every time I think a frost is going to do in the last of my blooms, I go outside and there are lovely pops of color waiting for me 🙂
i like your cooking videos very much, because they have the quantity I need and they are simple, healthy recipes. I have 4 teenage boys and somehow they eat as much as you always cook for your 8 children.
I always love your videos Lisa. They are so calming and encouraging. On this Monday morning I needed some calm encouraging something. This video was perfect as I started my day taking care of my family of whom I love dearly, with a smile on my face and a good attitude. P.S. I also love your sisters content as well.🌿
Ahhh Lisa, what a relaxing, comforting video, watching you cook and straighten up. Listening to your soft spoken voice. How big little Victor has gotten. My how time does fly. God bless you dear girl, as you continue to show yours and the younger generation how wonderful homemaking can be!❤
Thank you, it’s among my favourites to watch one of your videos with my morning coffee, just before my big household slowly trickles downstairs. 😊 It’s amazing in how many ways your family is similar, while also quite different :-) Greetings from the UK and may God bless and keep you and all yours ❤ 🇬🇧 ☕️ Keep making those lovely clips. PS. Congratulations on the recently concluded elections 🇺🇸 PS. I love the bluish colour in your dining area (it seems to change in some other videos to something greener). May I ask what colour is it? Is it the same as the living room in this vid? Beautiful.
Missed you last week ❤ I literally did not want to wash the dishes tonight or clean up for closing shift but your video made me get up and do them 😅 I couldn't stop cleaning lol
Thank you for showing us the inside of the buns! I also struggle about using completely whole grains! I am so thankful for your recipes and the sharing of your daily routines! I look forward to it every Friday as a 65 year old mother and grandmother!
Thank you Lisa this is the first time I've seen someone blanch the beans before roasting, this is how I do it and they come out so well. Popping them straight into the oven, seems a tad lazy and they burn. Glad to see you working so well with your family.
As always, such a joy to watch! I love the little clips of your cat by the pumpkins, your dog by the swing. Sooo peaceful, and reminds me that there IS time in our day to appreciate simple things and beauty. Ohh, the pros and cons of whole grains! I often sift out some (with a relatively coarse sifter) or almost all (with a relatively much finer sifter) of the bran from my fresh-milled flour to get a finer texture. Great activity for children to help with in the kitchen! It’s the kind of flat, round sifter (it’s probably got a specific name but I don’t know it) that looks like you’re panning for gold!
It amazes me how you are able to manage making videos like this. Doing all that beautiful homemaking and baby holding while filming. Want you to know your videos are appreciated and make me see the beauty in my everyday life. They are so peaceful and beautiful and i try to channel them whenever im stressed and in the kitchen lolol.
Hi Lisa, I always love it when you put out new videos. I rarely get a chance to watch though, I usually listen when I am doing my chores. Please keep talking on them otherwise all I get to listen to is music. 😊
SAME! I cannot devote all of that time to just watching a video, so if I have to read it, I don't finish it 😥. When you talk through it, I can move about my day and still hear the text, glancing up when I want to see what you are talking about.
Lisa my book came today and i was over the moon happy. Its 11pm here now and i could not go sleep without going through it. You are my inspiration because of you i started doing sourdough everything flour related. I can never go back anymore. I slowly bought all the things and its always so exciting to pull that baking out of the oven. I am currently waiting on my brioche-jam-crumble sheet cake in the oven, i turned it into a sheet cake. 😊 Keep it up and god bless you.
Am enjoying the new cookbook. Made the blackberry muffins using blueberries and they were wonderful. Am in the process of making small-batch sourdough because I live alone and looked to be a good size for me. Thanks Lisa for your expertise and recipes.
I love window opens days. Unfortunately it’s hard. We live on a gravel road with strong winds much of the time. When it’s dry especially those dusty clouds come right in. 😢. Not only does it cover everything but isn’t the best for all of us in the family that have asthma.
I love Sue Becker! She makes it easy to understand the health benefits and it is amazing to use FMF. It also motivates me use FMF in everything. I feel better when I stay away from all-purpose store-bought flour. You are my inspiration for cooking from scratch and I am thrilled to see videos where you use full FMF. I understand if you still do a mix but I am pumped to learn from you if you do recipes with all FML. Thanks for the tips of waiting an hour before I do the first stretch and fold. Can't wait to try my sourdough recipe again.
This is what I have been waiting for...all whole grain recipes! Hope you keep it up so I can learn from you! Thank you so much for all of your wonderful content!!
I would love to know what the brand of your grain mill. I used to mill all my flour when my 6 kids were little and I was homeschooling them. My mill sounded like a jet. I used to have 50 pound bags of white whole wheat kernels and I used vital wheat gluten and another additive that I cannot recall. I just recently found your UA-cam channel and find it very relaxing. It is also bittersweet to watch. My oldest turned 36 last Saturday and my baby turned 27 in September, he has a son 4 months old. I was so thrilled when he came over and told me how he sings to him and dances and how he reads to him. He was very pleased to tell me how much breast milk they had in the freezer. He moved to Texas and is loving with my 34 year old daughter who homestead. When I texted the other day she told me how much she loves canning and is very excited to start her garden again in March
I love your cookbook, Lisa! It’s so nice to open a book rather than search online. And I do use it almost daily! Today I’m making your flatbread recipe (half whole grain and adding a Tablespoon of sugar) for making wiener wraps. We did this easy protein rich meal last week and my kids loved it.
All About Sourdough by Glenda Groff has been so helpful for learning to bake with 100 percent whole grains that actually taste so good and turn out well. I have been doing sourdough for 13 years but her methods have really helped me grow!
I love your channel and so happy I got your cookbook! So far I’ve made the muffins but threw in frozen cherries and blueberries and chocolate chips and just finished the dinner rolls both with 100% freshly milled soft white wheat. So good Lisa! Thanks for all you do!
That is funny because I have been making all of your recipes with whole grains only and they all have turned out. For health reasons I only use whole grains therefore I have no other options because I don't buy any other options. And everything has worked great!
You might want to consider milling just outside your back door there. Fine particle and fire is a very bad combination. If you get a bit too much of that flour airborne your whole kitchen will go up in a fireball
Thank you for all that you do and for the wealth of information you provide. All of your recipes are so good and I've loved using your einkorn pizza dough recipe for Friday night pizza night. So good! I'm planning to mill some berries today so a timely reminder of the benefits of milled grains! Thank you!
I have ordered your cookbook on amazon because of free shipping, however now I have to wait till November 24 for some reason, oh well patience is a virtue, looking forward to reading it!
Yes if you order from Amazon you have to wait if you order from my link they get shipped immediately....many already have them in hand.homesteadliving.com/daily-sourdough/
❤The sweet days of being a stay home mom only lasted 9.5 years for me, but they were wonderful! Enjoy each moment, help your children learn life long skills to care for themselves & others. It’s a blessing to be in these years! 😊
I’m sorry Hopefully u have a ministry or something fulfilling to do 🙏🏻 I’m ending my time as a mom of kids at home…60 in Jan (I had a couple kids in my early 40s) and I’m missing it already & it hasn’t happened yet lol
Oh my gosh those muffin looked heavnly Lisa! I love your recipes, they inspire me to venture out for my family even though we live in the city life here in Australia. Thank you
Love the video with the voice over. So very relaxing. Not a fan of subtitles it takes away from the joy of listening to your voice or the relaxing music.
I was raised on fresh-milled whole grain, but have been following your sourdough recipe with 500g all-purpose, 250g bread flour, and 200g fresh-milled. My family loves it. 😂 I have never been able to keep a starter alive with fresh-milled flour. 🤔
Best video filled with fall. Your food looks scrumptious!!! I have such a weakness for homemade bread of any kind. I could smell it from here. Beautiful home and beautiful family.
Just wanted to say that I love the book! I’m currently in the process of making the jalapeño cheddar bagels. I’ve been making your bagels for a long time now and they are definitely a family favorite! This will be our first time trying this version though. They sound amazing!
Today I made chicken and rice using my from scratch bone broth; it was delicious. Last night I took a loaf of sourdough pumpkin bread with cream cheese icing to a Halloween party, it was a big hit! I’m so thankful I’ve found your videos!
You are an absolutely beautiful person inside and out. Your videos are beautiful too. I caught myself getting into that old comparison thought process and wishing I had a beautiful country home like yours, or to be able to do all you do in the kitchen out of intuition, but I think the Lord reminded me before I could get too deep into that thought process that I am not where you are. We are all on our own journey in this life, and while I may see plenty of things I would like to be able to do for my family that would greatly benefit them in many different facets, I can only do what I can right now one step at a time. I am an all or nothing kind of person and tend to give up in discouragement when I can't see a way through what I'm facing. But I realized just now that I can take what I've seen and implement one thing at a time, and in time, I will get to that point as well. I realize you didn't know how to do all you do at once, you had to develop that wisdom throughout time and practice; that's exactly what I need to do. So thank you for being the sweet and peaceable person you are , and for giving such great inspiration for a peaceful home! :)
I did it Lisa I ordered your book! Yippee, I’ve been called the sourdough queen in my neck of the woods, maybe I can hold on to my title 😆this ole gal will try making everything in your book with God’s help 🙏🏻😌
Nigella Lawson taught me to keep fortified wines, vermouth, sherry, and Marsala on hand for deglazing. All are cheap and don’t go bad! Vermouth is my go to for chicken dishes!
We do not have a line item budget....we purchase a half cow every six months and chickens/a hog a year. Then in summer go to the farmers market and a couple times a year get an Azure Standard order to stock up on pantry staples
You’re so inspiring! I’d love to know how you work in your homeschooling around your homemaking. I have 3 kids that I homeschool and constantly need to help them with work or just remind them to stay on task.
I am so scared to try freshly milled flour haha. But you always make sourdough look so easy and this video definitely gave me confidence to explore freshly milled flour more.
I love the idea of using a mill, but it's such an investment, especially for one person. So many people have asked me to make sourdough bread for them and they would pay, but still. Seeing you and a few others entice me for sure.
Maybe u know someone with a mill who would exchange grinding u 5# of grain for a loaf of bread? U can freeze it to keep it from going rancid like the store flours.
I will check out that podcast. I usually use half AP flour and half freshly milled grain. I make all our bread products. I bought a couple of books on using home milled flour. There are definitely differences. The rule of thumb is add an extra 1/4 C of water per cup of freshly milled flour as it absorbs water at a greater volume.
I commented once before how I stumbled onto your channel as I’m new to sourdough& that I was going to binge watch your videos & I did. I have made your basic no knead sourdough bread, your English muffins, and your cinnamon rolls. I have to say - they all turned out amazing & soooo delicious!!! I bought myself an early Christmas present when I purchased your book - Daily Sourdough. I have to say you did an amazing job. I love this book!! I’ve only had it for three days & have read it cover to cover already making notes, highlighting things I think are important. I used post-it notes to mark pages. Now I’m going back through to decide which recipe I want to use first. This is such a good book!!! You did a wonderful job creating it!! Your book will honestly be a book I can/will use for the rest of my life & pass on!! I know this a long comment. Sorry. I just wanted to thank you very much for making my journey into sourdough an enjoyable experience & to congratulate you on a fantastic book you wrote!!! Truly a job well done!!!
I really don't have a routine as I really do eat what you see me make on here...breakfast is a smoothie with milk kefir, frozen fruit...greens powder, collagen or colostrum.
The first film my husband and I ever watched was Groundhog Day with Bill Murray and Andy McDowell…the irony is my life seems to have become like that. No sooner is my alarm going off in the morning than it’s going off the following morning then the next again…I feel deflated at the moment. Time is flying and I just spend my days chasing my tail, or like my husband says it feels like I’m putting out little fires everywhere 😒
When our children are little it can feel that way...perhaps pick one thing to focus on improving or accomplishing and just focus on that one thing until you have victory in that area...you may find some encouragement over on The Simple Farmhouse Life podcast and UA-cam channel where I talk to other mothers and homemakers and share more on that part of my life.
My mom cooked from scratch for a family of 7 for so many years, she couldn’t adjust when the nest was empty. She always lured me over on a weeknight with the promise of her delicious food! My aunt did the same. She lived alone but would buy and cook for 11 people 😂

So does my mother. She lives for the weekends when we'd visit her with our families

Thank you, Lisa. God bless you!
Such a sweet story. May those little boys be so blessed. Such a loving act of love and kindness. Treasure those precious memories. ❤❤❤
How sweet!!!
This is too sweet!😩🥲
Aww! So sweet. Of course, they may have a bit of an ulterior motive. 😂

@@Emily_Watson Thank you!! I'll look her up and check out her book -- great information!
Is it only home milled flour? I wonder whether it doesn't have to do with bromine added to US flours, not in eg, flours used in Italy for pasta

❤The sweet days of being a stay home mom only lasted 9.5 years for me, but they were wonderful! Enjoy each moment, help your children learn life long skills to care for themselves & others. It’s a blessing to be in these years! 😊
I’m sorry
Hopefully u have a ministry or something fulfilling to do 🙏🏻
I’m ending my time as a mom of kids at home…60 in Jan (I had a couple kids in my early 40s) and I’m missing it already & it hasn’t happened yet lol

What a wonderful video!
Agree !!! I would rather listen to her calming voice ❤
We are getting wintery weather already in MN. Can't wait for your holiday decorating videos!
Another very lovely video. The meal and baked goods look delicious! I have ordered your book : D I loved seeing your cats and Victor ❤
YAY! I missed you last Friday!
Me too!
Me too! 🙋♀️❤
Love my homemade milk kefir! Been putting it into my protein shake every day for months now. Absolutely love it.
I was raised on fresh-milled whole grain, but have been following your sourdough recipe with 500g all-purpose, 250g bread flour, and 200g fresh-milled. My family loves it. 😂 I have never been able to keep a starter alive with fresh-milled flour. 🤔
Yes I heard that often...fresh milled definitely has a learning curve much like learning sourdough.
It all looks so good!❤❤❤ How that baby has grown!❤❤❤
I am curious about what your countertop is made of since you cut right on it. Thanks for the soothing videos!

Best video filled with fall. Your food looks scrumptious!!! I have such a weakness for homemade bread of any kind. I could smell it from here. Beautiful home and beautiful family.
Thank you so much! Homemade bread is definitely a favorite in this house.
Just wanted to say that I love the book! I’m currently in the process of making the jalapeño cheddar bagels. I’ve been making your bagels for a long time now and they are definitely a family favorite! This will be our first time trying this version though. They sound amazing!
❤ I’m always cooking from scratch and the kids say I always smell like food when I go to their extra activities 😂 🤷🏻♀️
Today I made chicken and rice using my from scratch bone broth; it was delicious. Last night I took a loaf of sourdough pumpkin bread with cream cheese icing to a Halloween party, it was a big hit! I’m so thankful I’ve found your videos!
Homemade bone broth really is delicious!
I loved this video ❤️It’s like a little bit of heaven on earth😊
Love the beautiful patchwork on the kids' beds!
Great time with you on a busy day with relaxing music. Take care❤❤
I am glad you enjoyed the video!
You will get there...it does take time but thats ok!
Thank you ❤
You're welcome!
I did it Lisa I ordered your book! Yippee, I’ve been called the sourdough queen in my neck of the woods, maybe I can hold on to my title 😆this ole gal will try making everything in your book with God’s help 🙏🏻😌
You can do it!!!
Nigella Lawson taught me to keep fortified wines, vermouth, sherry, and Marsala on hand for deglazing. All are cheap and don’t go bad! Vermouth is my go to for chicken dishes!
Water & a splash of vinegar work great. I dislike wine so I’ve been using that.
I would love to know what your grocery budget looks like.
We do not have a line item budget....we purchase a half cow every six months and chickens/a hog a year. Then in summer go to the farmers market and a couple times a year get an Azure Standard order to stock up on pantry staples
@FarmhouseonBoone Do you like Azure standard or Thrive market better?
Everything looked amazing! Love your channel! ♥️
Thank you so much!
You’re so inspiring! I’d love to know how you work in your homeschooling around your homemaking. I have 3 kids that I homeschool and constantly need to help them with work or just remind them to stay on task.
I have shared more in depth over on The Simple Farmhouse Life podcast/UA-cam channel if you are interested.
Thank you. Another lovely video.. God bless.
I am so scared to try freshly milled flour haha. But you always make sourdough look so easy and this video definitely gave me confidence to explore freshly milled flour more.
Your video was lovely to watch and as usual very informative! ❤ your content 😄
Thanks, I’m just getting into baking with freshly milled flour! Do you also use a bit more yeast?
@ no, I have had good results without adding more yeast. Happy baking!
@@Just-Nikki Thanks!
Thanks for sharing!
Love to hear that you and others are enjoying and learning from my book...thank you!
We add a pinch of mace to our pumpkin pies 🥧 😋
What another beautiful video with beautiful music!!! Love all your content!! God Bless you🤗
Thank you!
You look great after your baby! Would you consider posting what you eat in a day?
I really don't have a routine as I really do eat what you see me make on here...breakfast is a smoothie with milk kefir, frozen fruit...greens powder, collagen or colostrum.
Beautiful. You are the sweetest thing❤❤
Good morning from NC
I truly enjoy peeking into your beautiful life :) My gosh those kiddos are getting big however. I can't get over the girls.... WOW
