I'm a little confused. At about 3:30 you say "don't fix" minor imperfections like buffing out a scratch, mend a cut in the leather seat, but then go on to discuss new tires. I get not buying new tires, but I thought it was a good thing to fix those minor imperfections so the dealer couldn't over-exaggerate it's cost to fix?
Start talking about car shortages and dealership selling cars about msrp n including used cars. 5 problems buying a car now vs next year. Heard it’s bad out there on negotiations, high interest rates n dealership throwing a ton of accessories on the car to force a higher price vehicle
Can't tell you how many deal breakers there have been on buying a used car because of cigarette smoke damage. Of course sales person always claim they can remove it.
Absolutely. Remember, the high prices have to do with the low chip supply. If you want to buy, You only have to wait it out and get a better deal or pay a higher price but get a vehicle now.
Carvana, carmax, and vroom all gave me trash offers vs KBB. Blue book on my 2015 F150 is about 20 grand (high mileage truck) but I’m excellent condition I’ve taken care of it. The other 3 offered 10-13 grand which is a joke
Just traded in a 2011 Kia Optima. I knew for a couple months I’d be getting a new car, so I didn’t replace the tires. You would’ve thought I had slicks on there by the time I traded it in😂
Just tell the sales rep the tires are fine, you got a great deal on Nascar tires. In fact it is worth more because of it! There is bound to be a dealer who would believe it!
Chevy Dude ' what if a family wants to use their old car as a trade in but the car needs smog repairs or catalytic converter, but it has been well maintained in it's past ?

Can you make a video explaining the actual Process of a Dealership Buying your Auto ?? I prolly need to email you cause I have some questions and I kinda feel like they are slow walking paying me.
Maybe you should stop saying you or your dealership don't charge over list for c8 corvettes, because I just got an email saying you will in fact be charging way over list for the Z06 variant. You and the dealership you work are just like the rest. Wouldn't have a problem. If you weren't so fake. Feel free to block me from your channel hope the people you screw enjoy it as much as you do.
You say to look at Kelly Blue Book to get a value but dealers don't use Blue Book. They use Black Book. Black Book values are different. Walk into a dealer and say "this is how much i want because Kelly Blue Book says its worth this" and their response will be "hahahahahahahaha".
KBB is a guide. I have a video in the works to show you ALL the tools we use to appraise cars. It's not just black book. Matter of fact I hate black book. They are usually wrong.
@@ChevyDude In today's market I think its all out the window. The value of a car is whatever someone will pay for it (and it changes daily), and lately it seems Carvana is paying way more than conventional dealers. I'd never buy a car from them because I can't see it or get it inspected, but I certainly don't mind them putting thousands in my pocket to take mine. They may be overpaying, but I don't care if they go broke when the bubble bursts - that's their fault. I'm going to be selling one or possibly both of mine to them so I can turn it around into a new car.
What do dealerships do with trades that are useless. For example I have a 2007 Dodge Durango that I bought in 2008. I am the second owner of this critter and its been a great daily driver for me. Now 14 years and 220,000+ miles later I am ready for a new car. The Dodge runs great still, but has a lot of body rust. Chrysler did a terrible job with treating the seams on the doors and fenders, plus I live in Minnesota. Is it even worth talking trade or should I just take it to the junkyard after I get my new beast?
Mike...im planning on trading in my 2018 tahoe for a 2021 escalade...would i be better off ordering it from cadillac online or deal with all the dealer markups
I have a 2017 Audi A6 that the warranty expired in February of 2021. In May a ring broke and I had to have the dealer repair it to the tune of $7k for a new block and labor. The Audi dealer provided a 12mo/12k warranty. When I trade the car in, will the motor replacement be valued as an asset or detriment to my trade value? I suspect it’s like Vegas and the House always wins
I know this has nothing to do with this video but is it a good idea to put on a oil catch can on a 2021 chevy 6.2 thanks and keep up with the good videos
I guess you don't want to go to a mechanic that reports to carfax if you have repairs, only if you are doing PM. If I saw a carfax that had a ton of repairs, I wouldn't want it.
Any advice ? I’m going too try and trade in My 15 Charger RT 55k miles for a Cpo 18 Mustang Gt 46k miles , there’s a dent in my car I got it that way from the dealership, should I try and fix it ? The easiest route would be just buying a whole new door, or should I just leave it?
Great video. Do you have any advice on how to negotiate your trade? My car is worth anywhere between $2,600 - $5,600. However, I was only offered $1,000. What am I doing wrong?
Try the Kelly blue book instant cash offer. I sold my car to a different dealer than I bought my new car from and got $3000 more than carmax offered or what I would have gotten on trade. It was very easy to do.
I’m trying to trade in my 2007 civic. It has a dent and scratching on one door and the driver side visor is missing. How do I go about them trying to charge thousands to fix it?
Headed to the dealership right now. I have a trade in 2014 Corolla 185k miles, I’ve kept up all maintenance. Interested in a 2020/2021 Camry hybrid. Any tips?
Ask for the OTD worksheet first. Have them give your the end price, (Out the door) Price. Negotiate out all the unnecessary fees, don't mention the trade in till the end because you have the out price already. And Don't let them manipulate you into lower than what it is.
Have you heard of an “market adjustment” price due to COVID? I went to trade my car for one I seen online and they were trying to charge me like $5k more than the price listed online because of this so called market adjustment rate.
I am looking forward a 2021 Kia Telluride and I was just told that I will have to pay over msrp, no incentives or rebates, and an $899 dealer fee with no negotiations! Also, they can’t call around to get what I want because other dealerships are not letting go of their inventory. Are times this crazy or am I just dealing with a crooked salesperson?
I have purchased numerous vehicles over my life and will share my knowledge with you. This works for me every time. 1. Clean your trade in before appraisal. Also have another dealership appraise it even though you have no intentions of buying there. This gives you an excellent idea of what you should expect. 2. Look up inventories online to find what you want. 3. Never ever show excitement towards a vehicle. Inside you know it's perfect and you absolutely want it. But that excitement will be used against you in negotiation. 4. If it's a no haggle dealership, don't waste your time. 5. Secure your financing on your own. You most likely will get a better rate. Do not tell them you have secured financing. 6. Never accept sticker price. I don't care what they say about inventory or chip shortages. 7.: You are going to walk away from the dealership even though you plan to buy that vehicle. For instance, car is 40,000. You give a ridiculous offer you know isn't happening. You say 33,000, they say 39,000. They might say 38,500. You say thank you for your time, but I have two other vehicles to look at and have my loan check in hand. Then you walk away and have lunch down the street. You will be getting a call within the hour. You say 38,000 tax, title, and everything else and I will be there to sign and give you a check. 8. Check all paperwork in the finance office. Don't fall for maintenance programs, gap insurance, etc. Remember, don't be rude. But you are the customer and they need you more than you need them. That salesman is looking for a commission check and the manager is looking to make sales.

Is the following legal? A local dealership, one of your competitors, is spending anywhere between 6 months and 1 year to file title & registration with the DMV. They give out temp tags (every month) instead of filing with the DMV. Many people have complained about this. It seems that they may be holding onto the taxes in order to get loans, leverage the funds some how, or have more cash on hand. What are your thoughts on this?

I know you work for GM however I would like to know how you see the lack of electronic parts that will delay deliveries of the 2022 at Ford. do you think that waiting times will be considerable to get access to a new truck?
Yes, every car manufacturer is suffering from lack of computer chips and parts from China and Japan. COVID-19 is rampant among Chinese manufacturers and their workforces has been sliced in half causing massive delays in delivery of new parts. Several dealerships have almost nothing new on the lot to sell today and only get a few cars per week now.
I have a lease about to expire. Buy option is roughly 12,000. Current value on the market (carmax, kbb, etc) is about 19,000. I would like to re lease from same manufacture. Do I go to them and ask for best offer? How much less should I take from dealer? Thanks for the great content!
My car has damage right now because someone hit it while it was sitting in a parking lot and my dad says the trade in value will be higher if we get it fixed before looking for my next car. Is it worth spending money to fix damages? It’s a Buick Encore 2019 only has about 26,000 miles
I would first get an estimate on repair cost. then get the car appraised and when the appraisal is done as if what the value would be with the car fixed. Then make your decision. I have traded for many cars with damage and it was better to trade in damaged than to fix.. But, Every case is different. It's why you have to ask the above question.
If I bring in the maintenance records when I trade in my car, will this make a difference? (I keep the maintenance records of each time I get work done to my vehicle specifically thinking it will help when the time comes)
probably not - i took my Kia to the local dealer for all maintenance - even oil changes - thinking that all that info would be in their database and would pay off if i ever traded the car in. well, i did end up buying a car from there and trading in my old car and showed them all the maintenance reports/receipts as well as pointed out they had them as well. every maintenance milestone met, every recall handled, etc. i was told they didn't care and weren't interested in looking at the reports - i got nothing for all that work. now, if you're going to sell your car independently, i think it would make a difference to a prospective buyer... ymmv

Glad I know what to do now
Great video. Do you think the value of cars will go back down once the chip shortage is fixed?
I think we are in this market for another 12-18 months
I’d guess very slowly. There will always be a limited number of 20, 21, and probably 22 model year cars thus they will always be more valuable.
Absolutely. Remember, the high prices have to do with the low chip supply.
If you want to buy, You only have to wait it out and get a better deal or pay a higher price but get a vehicle now.
@@alistaircollins8721 There will always be a limited number of used 20 and 21 model year used cars regardless of future chip supply.
Perfect timing as im starting up the process of trading in my Speed3 for a Miata 8)
I drive truck, i absolutely refuse to drive any thats been smoked in NASTY
Just seen your corvette coming thru somerset pa earlier
WOW 1st class very kool great info. AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot keep up the great work
Thanks for the helpful advice. 44 Secs. After upload
Dont ever by a car that was reported as a repo on a carfax report.
Could’ve used this last week… lol still good video 👍
Thank you 🙏 for the information on this topic 👍👍👍👍
Thx for the information bro
Chevy Dude, have I got a car for you 😉 Carvana sucks. Offered me $350 for my car, got 5K.
I did this once... I had them fighting over the trade in...
Chevy Dude ' what if a family wants to use their old car as a trade in but the car needs smog repairs or catalytic converter, but it has been well maintained in it's past ?
Love these videos
I have a top and toolbox added to my truck. Should I have these removed before I bring it to CarMax? I have no need to keep them; I just don’t want them to lower the value.
I currently own a 2020 Chevy Camaro that has a value of $27000. However, I still need to pay off $12800 for it. My intention is to trade it for a 2023 Cadillac CT5. Can you please advise me on what to do based on your experience?
4:20 🌱💨🌱💨😂😂
what makes me mad is why do i have to pay destination fee.. the car was already on the lot it's not like i had it sent there.
So I shouldn’t get a paint correction done on my car before offering to trade it in?
You say to look at Kelly Blue Book to get a value but dealers don't use Blue Book. They use Black Book. Black Book values are different. Walk into a dealer and say "this is how much i want because Kelly Blue Book says its worth this" and their response will be "hahahahahahahaha".
Some dealers in my region do.
Odd, my dealer went totally by KBB when I traded in my 18 Silverado and has Everytime.
@@bml33 Carvana was $9k less on their offer than Vroom was on my vehicle
True and kbb instant cash gave horrible offers
Update?? Any issues with your Victor Racing high wing. Concerned they will not answer as to why only tested to 140MPH on a 190MPH Car.
Where have you been hiding Chevy Dude?
Great video. Do you have any advice on how to negotiate your trade? My car is worth anywhere between $2,600 - $5,600. However, I was only offered $1,000. What am I doing wrong?
Try the Kelly blue book instant cash offer. I sold my car to a different dealer than I bought my new car from and got $3000 more than carmax offered or what I would have gotten on trade. It was very easy to do.
Nice Video!!!!!
No idea how this would double anyone's trade in. Love the content usually but this one is a bit click bait-y
Ozone machines are cheap and fix cigarette and any other odors all day long.
I saw ur car !
@@michaelh5055 thank you 😊 I don’t have a trade and paying cash so that makes it a little easier for me. Thanks for your input. I appreciate your help and advice.
@@Beachgirl23 I usually don't buy but once every 5 years. But my wife just remains mostly silent. She says she loves the show I put on.

How long should I wait to buy a new chevy truck with this chip shortage. To get a good deal

Do you guys think if I trade in my mustang get they will find out mid resonator delete if I don’t tell them?
What if trade in has branded title
Don’t be shy, tell show us your dealer markup you used to trash on
I don’t do any additional dealer markup. I make profit. But, I don’t take advantage of people.
@@ChevyDude so if I buy from you, you’ll take that additional $5k adjustment off you have on the Tahoe?

What is your advice to trade in a vehicle that has been in a wreck but a simple bumper change is all it needs?
Change the bumper obviously
tape some cardboard over it, use same color as car.
Have a 2018 Camry SE. Toyota dealer would only give me $20,000. Went to Carmax and got $23.600. Woo Hoo to Carmax.
I wish I could buy a car from you.
What happens if you trade in a paid off car that’s worth more than the car you trade it in for?
They cut you a check
If I bring in the maintenance records when I trade in my car, will this make a difference? (I keep the maintenance records of each time I get work done to my vehicle specifically thinking it will help when the time comes)
probably not - i took my Kia to the local dealer for all maintenance - even oil changes - thinking that all that info would be in their database and would pay off if i ever traded the car in. well, i did end up buying a car from there and trading in my old car and showed them all the maintenance reports/receipts as well as pointed out they had them as well. every maintenance milestone met, every recall handled, etc. i was told they didn't care and weren't interested in looking at the reports - i got nothing for all that work. now, if you're going to sell your car independently, i think it would make a difference to a prospective buyer... ymmv
@@bitrunner2000 I had a car totaled that I had done the same thing on. State Farm offered me $1100.
