I am completely in awe. To be able to "see" where to cut when the spinning blurs the shape so that it looks you're cutting in nothing... It is simply awesome, how you must see the final shape in your mind... Beautiful... It's more than craftsmanship, it's pure artistry.
I never thought I would find myself going down the rabbit hole of watching woodturning UA-cam videos but the pieces I have witnessed on your channel have been nothing short of spectacular!
With other turners I can usually figure out what they are doing and how it will turn out. Your work is quite different. I can never seem to work out what the finished project will look like. That is not a complaint but a complement. I love your work and I love waiting until the end to see what it is that you've done. You are wonderfully creative. I tip my hat to you sir!
I love the unexpected. I'm a weaver, and the grid-like structure of threads on a loom does not want to produce curves, so that's what I love to do: make curves on a loom. Here is the polar opposite. A lathe doesn't want to make corners and angular wings. But here you've done just that. And what glorious wings!!
Your artistic ability blows my mind! I can’t fathom how you envision and execute such creative perfection. Absolutely outstanding piece and your videos are amazing! I thoroughly enjoy watching.
Collect wood shavings separately from different types of trees. Backfill in layers or whatever you want, fill with epoxy, make a vase or lampshade or something else
This was the most beautiful piece I have ever seen turned on a lathe. It made me wish my mom was still alive this was the epitome of her kind of art. My parents home was filled with it. When she saw something that caught her eye, like I know this would have, she bought it no questions asked. 💙🤍🖤💙🤍🖤
By far... The most complex type of wood turning I've seen. From a cube to a 3 sided dual layer which is also another 3 side and then another 3 side and then a circle.... Yep I also got confused. I'm admiring your level of experience and visioning to see this kind of piece of art from a cube! Well done sir. Salute to you
Wow! The resin adds a whole new dimension to the wood and I really like what you did for the base. Last week I turned a bowl just like this out of cedar. But, I turned the bottom flat. I wish I had seen this video to do the same. And, I did not use resin. Now, I need to look at doing another bowl using resin. My cedar bowl is just a hunk of wood that looks nice, but yours is much more interesting. Thanks for the new idea and inspiration. I’ll send ya pictures once I do another in the next few days. Now, off to Dallas to buy some resin. BTW...I still standby my past comments that you are definitely turning into one of the premier wood turners. You always turn something interesting. And your video intros are wonderful. God has blessed you with some nice talents. I am happy to see that you are not letting them go to waste.
This is amazing, beautiful and inspiring! I heard about your accident and you are in our prayers for a speedy recovery. You are a true gift to woodworking and art.
Fantastic art. I love seeing this in real time. Your precise and delicate cuts are very informative. The videography, editing and soundtrack are also the best. It's a wonderful pleasure to watch your craftsmanship and art.
Carving beautiful wings that are barely a blur to the eye that accurately is amazing craftsmanship. This piece should be in a museum to help inspire everyone in the ability of the human spirit. Absolutely amazing ability...
As always David your turning is absolutely beautiful. Such a beautiful piece. Gorgeous, Gorgeous, Gorgeous. I always look forward to your next turning project.
Hi David, I have watched you turn 2 of these now and on both occasions I have thought, never in a month of Sunday's will I ever be able to do that. It is just astonishing David. When you were pouring the resin I though this is going to look amazing. I wasn't wrong. Brilliant David. Take care. Cheers, Huw
Hi from France, this is a very very uncommon state of the art design! Very well done! Good job! I don't think it really matters were we all are in the world when there is amazing wood turning like this to be watched. I myself I am in the uk not even half way though a 12 hour night shift and I can safely say watching talented guys like this is definitely the thing to do to pass the time away. I know things are apparently getting better but wherever you are stay say everyone
So strangely beautiful. I don't know how your mind can conceive such a creation, from a block of wood and resin. I heard about your fall (from Kim Tippin) and I would like to lift you up before God, and ask that you be fully healed of your injuries, in the name of Jesus. Amen. God Bless you and keep you, David.
Bless you for stopping now and then to let the rest of us spatially-deficient get an idea of where you are going..! Truly a piece to have rather than use..!
Earth meets Cosmos! Incredible. I just watched you make this and I still can’t understand how you made it! I call that magic! I love how the two disparate materials look like they are simultaneously attracted and repelled by one another. All that tension captured in the wavy line of the living edge of the wood. Choosing to put the blue on the top makes it “heavenly” whereas had it been on the bottom, we might be led to think more of a cork on the ocean, perhaps. Just stunning! Congratulations!
I never watch your videos and don't think "That is amazing and stunning!". This piece is yet another one of those wonderfully thought out and executed works of art we are grateful that you share with us. Thank you.
I was surfing you tube and found your videos. I find them very relaxing and peaceful. Your work is gorgeous and the videography is exceptional. I subscribed and am going to start binge watching your channel. As Joshua said below, your work is spectacular,
i’ve watched a lot of wood and resin turning on youtube…a whole lot. this might be my favorite one i’ve ever seen. it’s definitely up there. mind blowing and jaw dropping, like all your videos. best turning channel on here by leaps and bounds.
someone else mentioned it, but the parts where it seems like you're shaving through air? breathtaking. this entire video is enthralling to watch -- you're clearly a master. phenomenal craftsmanship!
Holy cow! This is why you are so much fun to watch. 1. Your camera angles are terrific. That back-lit one was great. 2. Most people chuck up a cube like that to make a 3 corner bowl. Not David Adamson. Nooo. Yours 8s different. 3. One spends much of the video thinking, "what is he making?" Your work is superb and inspiring.
Your videos are so wonderfully soothing, and the products you create are lovely. I feel your sound design really deserves commendation, because you've picked the music choices well, and you found a wonderful balance for the sound of the lathe. Most other woodturners, the sound of the tools against the wood is grating to the ear, but you've managed to find a sweet spot with it. (All that, and you have notably sexy hands, but that's secondary to the quality of your work.)
Halfway through, I thought I might be having a stroke because I couldn't wrap my mind around what I was seeing. Then, David, you presented a breathtaking work of art! I love the free-floating fragments of the burl suspended in the resin in the finished piece!
This is truly an amazing piece! I'll admit I skipped to the end after the first few minutes because I simply couldn't conceptualize what you were attempting to do, then after I saw the result I went back and watched the whole thing! Really cool and some truly amazing and advanced technique you showed in getting that result, well done!
This has blown me away. I've been watching more and more of your videos just because they are interesting and soothing. Well that and your work is amazing. This though, this I was not expecting; it is fabulously creative. I love it. It showcases your talent, but also your ability to think way outside the box. I love it.

Too big for me, but like so many times, you inspired me with this project. Also kudos for your camera work. Very intriguing! Many thanks!
Based on some of the other comments, I can only respond in kind. The pieces you create are phenomenal. Your take on this cube blew me out of the water. It is so beautiful. I can’t imagine that anything you create is not just fabulous. If you have doubts about this shape or design, please lay them to rest. It is wonderful. Take care and stay healthy. Don’t worry too much about completing projects on a time frame unless you could complete them daily. Since you have a life outside of turning, please work safe and enjoy your family and friends.
