So important! One big thing that held me back was "pacing". Once I gave up pacing and started challenging, everything shifted.

Hello. That's really interesting. Was that in connection with CFS? 🌿

@@leahcalabro2787 Yep! I refused to get diagnosed with CFS bc in the end for me it is just another TMS label but I did a retraining program for CFS and other mind-body issues and it did not do me good. One reason was pacing.

@@leahcalabro2787 Maybe to explain. I was told to cut all my activities by 50% to find my baseline and build up from there. What happened was that I taught my brain I could not do things anymore so my tolerance would get lower and lower and every time I slightly exceeded my pacing limit like x steps a day I would freak out. so overall it just created more fear and contributed to the idea of being sick and broken, horrible!

@JJ-lh4jm Thats amazing 👏 Looks like you nipped it in the bud so to speak, before unhelpful pathways became entrenched!

Hi Jim, I watched this vid for the first time this afternoon and gave it a whirl about an hour ago. What a change!. I’ve been doing very chronic pain in lower back and hips for about a year, favouring my left side. My muscles have become quite weak and I’ve been using a hiking stick to keep me upright. I decided to do as you mentioned and put even weight on my left side and tuned into how my feet struck the ground. There was an immediate lessening of pain, my gait evened out, my knees were normal-ish distance apart (I’ve been walking knock-kneed). I did this in front of my daughter too just in case I was imagining it. She saw the change too. I’m a bit tender after the effort but this is it for me. Thank you.

I do this as much as I can. Eg. I had pain in my elbow so I would do a couple extra reps arm curls on the arm. Eventually it went away. I do this with my back. If my back hurts I go for a run. I know it’s TMS so if my back hurts I FU back! The problem is my sciatic is the only thing that has never completely left. Yet.

I'm a long time practitioner of your strategies and found them to not only help with pains of non structural origins but also cope with pains where there is a known structural origin for the pain. Anytime we can relax in the face of real or imagined health issues, the better goes the journey.

Yes, I’d love you to chime in on this one Jim- my husband gets headaches every night, 3 am. Nothing structurally wrong. No meds help. How do you challenge a headache?

What can we do for MECFS type symptoms where we are doing as much as we physically can most days and can’t function to do more?

    Hi Jim,
I am struggling with the following thing. I 'll try to feel my symptoms and feelings with an open space. But what is the line between focussing to much on the symptoms, or feel them?
And sometimes ignore them is working. Like sarno: go and live your life. I am losing myself maybe to much in : feel it to heal it. Confusing for me...

Life events to loved ones is challenging me these days and the CFS symptoms are flaring leaving me very weak all over. I know that my flared symptoms are caused by my emotions of worry for others and guilt that I can’t be of any help to them. I am consciously trying to reduce fear about the whole situation but also concerned about following the challenging advice and being physically active in case it will lead to a crash as the tipping point is so close! It is so hard day after day. Thanks for your videos Jim

I get pain when I sit. Should I just ignore it even though it gets really uncomfortable after a while?
