- How to Clean a Car Engine
In this video I clean my Ferrari F430 engine using commonly available products and share with you the techniques you can apply to any car engine cleaning - from Supercar to Supermini!
This video is part one of a two part session. In this first part I cover the basics of getting an engine clean, and in part two I'll apply a couple of dressings to the different surfaces to protect them and make them look like new.
If you have any questions, or tips to share please share them in the comments section.

Brilliant clear videos - Thanks for doing this
Thanks!
now I just need a Ferrari
or just a Ferrari engine ;-) lol
Very nice video, very helpful
Thank you so much, it’s time to wash mine 😛😛😛
You’re welcome 😊
It's like you make videos when I need them, thank you!
LOL, I make them especially for you Jack ;-)
Excellent video as usual. Your final comment made me smile as I think the same thing every time I start my 360. Something I have found useful, as I also have unmarked paintwork, is the following www.morethanpolish.com/non-slip-wing-cover.asp which leaves the car unmarked and stops me worrying when I lean into the engine bay. Keep the videos coming. Cheers. Steven
Thanks mate, how's the 360? - I generally think thank god it started, I still think it's part Prius as it has to be plugged in constantly! Thanks for the recommendation - I have loads of Beta and Snap-on wing covers somewhere, but I can never find them when I want them. I've perfected curving my body around cars now after many years LOL, plus because I'm a short-arse I have to stand on a step to reach in, so I'm leaning down.
All good. Just had a service at Bell Classics and being detailed by Andy at Unique Detail this week. Check out their websites when you get a moment. I am no as subtle as you and need those covers though. Probably an age things :) Cheers
Not heard of Bell Classics so just had a look and oh my that looks a beautiful place. I'd live there never mind take my car there LOL! Hope the detail goes well, just remember all of the steps to keep it perfect after. I've been machine polishing and detailing the 430 for about 2 weeks (in and out of the rain, and hence the neighbours garage), we have the 70th display on Tuesday so been prepping to get ready. My wheels need a refurb but can't find anyone to do them easily. A mate of mine will do them but I need to take the wheels to him so it's sort of a trade off.
watching you lean so much of your weight on the airbox is extremely cringey. Probably not hurting anything but that was painful to watch.
It's bolted to a cross member above the gearbox, It's going nowhere. You could probably stand on it and nothing would happen :-D
