Years later, this and the 458 reviews are still some of the best piece of reviewing from Clarkson and Top Gear. The filming, soundtrack and pacing all come together perfectly, and the way Clarkson talks about these cars, mixed with how they sound, makes them seem like what Ferraris are to people: perfect cars

Ben Pritchard second season was better. The first season was a bit disappointing to be honest. It just seemed like nobody was there to tell them to stop dicking about. Hopefully season3 will be better still.
Philip Collier third season was absolutely brilliant
A manual F430 will demand a much higher price these days

these days it's about $100,000 for one in very good condition. hasn't increased in value, but has held it's value pretty well. the 430 scuderia, on the other hand, has increased in value quite a bit, at $250,000 and up for one in very good condition.
PuffinDragun69 Assuming one actually had the dough for a manual 430, I could only imagine how unbelievably hard it would be to find one.
Yellow Malice its not harder to find that any other ferrari there usually one if you look around its just not the color you want haha.

There's some things about this car I like even more than the 458 and 599

the last of the "analogue" ferraris... without dual clutch and hundreds of electronics... makes you feel the car even more!
Let me tell you what that is - it has 2 Pair of lights on the back. All proper ferraris have 4 tail lights.

I got to drive one of these yesterday around a short race circuit and wow.... Jeremy is spot on with saying it is perfect. Before I could never understand why you would spend that kind of money on a car. After driving it I can totally understand. It was a slice of heaven with wheels.

Well I only got to drive one for 20 minutes, was a personal lifetime expierence I can now get off my bucket list :)

The Ferrari F430 is becoming desirable among collectors. Clean, low mileage examples are starting to bring in big money.
He's so right about the F430 out-handling everything. I drove a 911, and then an F430 and the Porsche suddenly felt like.. well, a canal boat.

Better transmission too. Although f430 F1 is a good single clutch, it’s slow and clunky compared to double clutch in 458.

@@mperformance3502 F430 is only proper with the gated manual. The last manual Ferrari, something special. Nowadays only Porsche (and Chevrolet) produce high powered sports cars with manual

I still think the F430 is the best looking mid-engine Ferrari ever made.
And with a 6-speed manual gearbox, this car is simply mind-blowing.
Ferrari makes a good mid-engine car every 4 years ,the f355 was good ,the 360 was a bit crap this is a legend and the 458 is again trash
It was, until 488 Pista has been built. That car is nothing less than sexually exciting.
@@Virtuoso23 the Ferrari brand goes on a rollercoaster of design beauty, they reached a peak with the 355, then went down to the f360, reached the top with the f430, hit the bottom with the 458 and now they're up again with the 488. Shame it's not naturally aspirated anymore but when it comes to design alone, the 488 is the worthy heir of the F430

Just drove one today in Silverstone, and it was my first Ferrari ever. Amazing experience!
It's almost 2019 and this is still probably my favorite Ferrari apart from the 458

Thing i love about Top gear is that the footage is 15 years old but looks like it was made yesterday.
I love this car, one of my favorite Ferrari's because they offer it in stick shift (the only way you should buy a supercar). Also, unlike other Ferrari's, this one doesn't require having the engine taken out in order to perform certain maintenance. Jeremy Clarkson makes this Ferrari review like no other, it's awesome!!
This is one of the all time best top gear review ever.
Saw one the other day, still sounds and looks great imo.
Really really awesome car. Just driven one. Really awesome. They said I was allowed to go 60km/h (I am 15:) ) but when I was at my second lap I went to 150 km/h. It accelerates like a beast.
I love my 430 Spider! I think the Enzo inspired back end looks awesome. Real shame that the 458 Spider also does not have the glass engine cover any more.
A few weekends ago got to drive an F430 and a Gallardo on the track. Honestly, the F430, which i drove first exceeded expectations. The sound was brilliant, the feel through the steering wheel, informative. It basically begged you to push it just a bit harder, and reassured you it could handle it (if you could). The Gallardo was super underwhelming. The gearbox, while not great on the F430, was crap. While in the Ferrari, in the corners it would grip and go, the Gallardo's tires would squeal and tell me I was at the cars limit. In a 40mph corner, the Ferrari was telling me that I could still go much faster, the Lambo was squealing and groaning. The understeer was shocking for a car of this caliber. This was my first ever Lambo, and my 2nd Ferrari. Honestly, I grew up with Lamborghini posters and screen savers. While I had an admiration for the "special" Ferraris (F40, Enzo etc), Lambos WERE the dream. After driving them both, I am a Ferrari Convert. My dreams have changed with experience, and my new goal (which is currently attainable within a few years if I keep my mind to it) is an F430 or 360 with that beautiful gates shifter (which I have tested once is the 355). Really, I got off track, but the point is this: Don't get stuck on the preconceived ideas of what a car should be like. I thought the Ferrari would be the poser, I just want to look cool car, and the Lambo was the actual driver's car that made you feel like you just harnessed the bull; when in reality, the opposite was true.
Nice experience. If you can, get a manual F430... such an epic car ! The 360 is a beautiful car but the front-end is not as nimble as the F430, the interior is dated, the chassis feels less sporty (it's not even more comfortable than the F430) and you have those damn timing belts whereas on the F430 it is a chain. Plus, I think the F430 looks better, it is more agressive especially from the rear with the huge diffuser.

"A Harrier jumpjet at the battle of Agincourt" - this is why Top Gear can't be replicated in Australia, the US, wherever; Jeremy and Co. bring so much cultural significance and knowledge into what they do on the show that it's too unique to be copied. I think that's why people really like Top Gear - they work REALLY hard to make their car reviews relevant to people. They review a car as a piece of machinery AND for what it means to humanity in the bigger picture.

Went round a track in one of these yesterday and its a truly epic machine, if I could I'd have one tomorrow haha.
I optioned mine with deviating stitching, thicker stitching #2, optional Daytona seats with optional red inserts, optional full power seats, rear leather behind the seats like he said, standard carbon interior and not aluminium look, red brake calipers, Scuderia fender shields, optional spare tyre with tool kit, dedication plate on the dash and chose yellow tachometer.
What a great car, it's going through the corners extremely fast and controlled!

I don't understand why Top Gear dislikes the look of this car. I agree when they say the 612 and 599 aren't that gorgeous, but I consider this to be one of the most gorgeous Ferraris in existence!

I thought the same but the other day I drove a golf r dsg with paddles and I fucking love it. Didn't miss the manual for a moment (always drove manuals) but I really like it. I have yet driven a car like a f430 but i don't think the flappy paddles is that bad. And the premium the manual commands is a bit overrated, there's a lot of hype for manuals these days

He was talking about the paddle shifters on the steering wheel, meaning you don't need a clutch pedal in the floorboard to change gears.

For me this is one of the best looking sports cars out there, Koinegsegg Agera and Bugatti Vitesse are fast but I think they are both ugly
