This is exactly what my issue was. Too many instructors are always asking us to bow the lead wrist. I have a strong grip, and with a bowed wrist, everything will go left. More instructors should understand the player and their tendencies before giving general instruction. Btw, I'm a .9 handicap, and you give great detailed instruction. Keep up the good work, coach!
I had the same problem...I have a super strong grip and was bowing my wrist...hook city and strangely thr only.way I could get it online was to swing MASSIVELY left and hold the face with a death grip to hopefully cut it...any attempt to hit it straight or a draw, no way...a coach finally pointed out I should be cupped with my.grip solved it
Coach! This was it right here. Like many, years of online swing video watching had me believing anything not bowed was sinful and the cause of all bad shots. I tried messing with everything in my swing except for my early bowing because there was no way that could be the culprit, right? My struggle has been losing the club behind me early on and then having to do all kinds of manipulations to catch the face back up. My grip creates a slight cupping of my left wrist naturally at address and all I have to feel is maintaining that to get the club out in front right where I need it. I'm hitting positions on video that I never thought would be possible. Thank you so much for continuing to prove there's not one way to do it.
Amazing instructions - new subscriber. I was doing the exact same thing as him and then I felt like I was blocking or couldn’t turn through because the club dropped. Now I am hitting it solid and it has helped with my compression. Great explanation
So I agree. I've watched a ton - not saying all by any means but a ton - and I think Adam is up there. I think I only have one channel ahead of him right now and even that is close.
@@Longarmshortarm I know it's a massive channel but Danny Maude. I don't think he is a better instructor per say, but he's very solid and his presentation is solid. He also includes guides you can download. I think it's close but I would give Danny the edge for the overall experience.
@@GolfQuestChannel fair enough mate! I’m familiar with his channel too. He helped the body turn click for me mentally - personally I have since found Porzak and everything he does just comes across as pure gold for me. More direct, better “feels”. Glad you found the same thing for you! 🙂🙂
I spent 6 hours this week on my chipping. I had major surgery- fasciotomy few months back , losing all feel. Chipping was worst part of my game. I eventually nailed it - stupid as it sounds - I chip with a cupped wrist from outset. Took a while but bloody works. I eventually have a reliable chipping stroke. Next stop pitching.
I’ve been frustrated with my game for 4 months, and today I tried to cup leadwrist in backswing, and FINALLY I could get control of the swing again, It works both with driver n irons. Is there more videos of this issue at your channel?
Excellent video! Could you do a video with the same exercise but for driver. It seems to me that 45/45 it is more complicated with a wider stance. Thanks a lot!
These videos are gold, the best on UA-cam. A video covering the driver on this issue would be great, I think I may be doing something like this with my driver as my right arm always feels awkward as if it’s not working with my left arm? If that makes sense 😅.
This video (and the other 2 abt cupping a bit) is helping me even more. You explain things so well👏. Because I was already doing that bit cupped lead arm thing (Leadbetter/GoodGoodGarret video + Malaska's downswing) Yesterday I went to the range and was just sending every 7i shot. Beautiful 45° flying high straight balls. 175-180y.
Thank you for sharing! This is exactly why we do what do! To help as many people as possible play better golf and enjoy the worlds greatest game more than ever!
The video is kinda old, but would you recommend to keep the tension to cup the left wrist at the address consistent throughout the swing (back swing and down swing)?
Resonated with me. Single figure golfer here struggling with long clubs because I close the face/super laid off/tonnes of shaft lean. Gotta feel cup to get the face square to forearm but now I can’t square the face at impact. Feel like a beginner again.🤨
Just be sure to turn(rotate) through the golf ball! That is what will now square up your Clubface if you have connection (your hands and chest together)
I stumbled over a very short video by Ben Hogan well after he was retired where he said: I found the secret to golf when I developed a cupped left wrist. Just look at his videos. Sadly I can't find that video.

Wow!! You made learning an impossible game easy!!😮Your are by far the best instructor ever!!
Wow! Thank you! We truly appretitae your kind words 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

By far you’re the best coach on UA-cam. I’ve noticed a massive change in my golf swing after watching you’re tips like the hip bump

@@Longarmshortarm I'm planning on doing a video on my channel of the top 5 instructors on UA-cam. Now you already know my top two :)

Man did I need this. I’ve had the same issue and it’s been so frustrating. Thank you.

Golf coach legend!
I'll have to work on this. I'm a lefty and my misses with wedges are pulls and pull hooks. Some misses with longer clubs tend to be pushes.
Is it same principle for Driver, Fairway Club?
Another quality lesson
Excellent video! Im a follower now
Welcome aboard!

Will this setup work for all clubs?
Yes it does!

Thank you for the guidance. Much appreciated!👍🏻
Same here, bowed, laid off, shut face, shaft lean, inside out swing path and big flip with the hands. I can hit driver good but irons are pathetic.
Lydia Ko's preshot routine is exactly what you're teaching here - the 45 deg hinge, then swing. Are you coaching her?
We do not work with Lydia but she has a beautiful swing!
Isn't she an 'A' swing, David Ledbetter disciple?

his bowing issue is what I do and I cannot chip anymore from that position. Will the feeling of cupping while chipping work as well. thanks.
Yes!
Another golden nugget
Thank you!
It's that old additive, feel and real.
No where more true than the game of golf!
..interesting..
Isn’t bowing only for a weak grip?
Does he have strong grip?
Slightly
Cupping is the future...
There has to be a think about… I believe some of these videos will hinder more than help
Gold nuggets
distracted by the golf Amazon on the range in the background.....
