Until I saw this wonderful video, I doubted that I would ever be a consistent ball striker. I now understand how to sequence the backswing and body rotation. It was like "flipping a switch." I have a newfound understanding on which to work. For the first time ever, I parred three holes in a row yesterday. I was thrilled. I did not realize that I was using my arms so much. It is not about upper body strength. Your video changed my game! Thank you. Thank you. Love the game of golf!
I watched this today. I am a 3 handicap and went to the range after watching and have never hit it more pure and consistent. Put the same swing on the driver as well and could not miss. Amazing! Thank you!
The insight about body rotating, then having to pause while the hands lift, is absolute gold and explains why I get OTT unless I force the hands independently back down to the right hip, though by that time the right hip is already turning. What great insight!! Thanks!
I have seen many videos on UA-cam and your explanation of swing sequences vs how we feel them as a player is by far the most clear. Great job! Subscribed 👍🏼
Hallelujah! At last I see why I have such an upright swing and keep battling with a slight ott swing path that is a little steep. Thanks heaps for the heads up Adam. Cheers mate.
Unparalleled knowledge of the mechanics involved in the golf swing. Have watched several of your videos. The more I watch the more impressed I become with all the intricacies you pass along to build the best swing possible for a player. Thank you and keep them coming!
Wow 💡10% 90% did it for me. Struggled with hands always finshing the swing and for life of me couldn’t feel and understand why. But after hearing that I went and worked on that thought and it cleaned it up sooo much.
Thank you! I always feel like my backswing is a bit too long and as a result I often got steep and swinging to the left especially with my longer clubs causing that weak fade or pull. I never realized that it was the result of my hip rotating to early during the backswing. The feeling I had to accomplish this is by starting my backswing with only my arms until hip height before starting to rotate my hip.
This video is exactly what I needed, looking at videos of my swing - my sequencing is off, my knee straightens too much. Can’t wait to get to the range. This has happened so many times now, the biggest current problem with my swing somehow shows up in my feed within days.
Great video! I was just reading about this in Hogans book and was struggling on how to correct it during my practice. Your video gave a modern update to it along with a great drill. Truly underrated channel🙌🏻
So different than the other YT teachers. I’m a low handicap player and I believe Adam has the best philosophical approach to the game. Best instruction I’ve seen without a doubt. Great videos! Thanks for posting!! 👍🏻🇺🇸
@@PorzakGolf Your videos are pure gold. I have a playlist of your videos. Problem is I have 100 videos in the playlist. Keep doing what you are doing. I’ve taken hundreds of lessons and I know your teaching method is philosophically correct.

Hi Adam, Thank you for your golf instruction videos which have completely transformed my swing for the better. Could you go into detail what feelings or drills to do once we get to the "Hammer the nail" position. I always feel I am still not releasing the club freely enough especially with the driver. Again many thanks for sharing your expertise. All the best Andy.
Really?! You start your hip turn right away?! Sh$t, no wonder you can't hit the ball. Just a hint, most golfers start with the take away of the club head into their back swing. But hey, if turning your right hip and then whipping around the club head works for you, go for it.
Absolutely love the content. You're basically the only channel I'm watching anymore after starting with 10-15 I used to go to to overwhelm myself. It would be awesome to see you have a few more lessons with some higher handicappers with more severe issues. Maybe you're only showing the better swings of each individual but it seems like all of the lessons you post are with pretty decent golfers looking for refinement and not the broken 20 handicapper like myself. I'm 8 lessons in and arguably worst than before though, so maybe I really am just that bad 🤣
Very interesting, I early extend very often (esp. with long clubs). I made some slow swings in my living room, and i pretty much start my swing with my hip. Gonna try to keep it a little more silent during the start of the swing. Thank you for the videos 😊😊
Man I would love to get a lesson from Adam. The guy knows his stuff, but it’s hard to pick it up from watching a video if you don’t have someone showing you the correct “feels” in real time.
@PorzakGolf Hey Adam, I notice you do not flare your left foot out at adress? I've got told by many golf pros to flare my left foot about 20 to 30 degrees. What are your thoughts?
Great subject great content. I would like to share my thoughts: When I keep my trailing knee in general restricted than extension, I feel I cannot turn enough and arms overtake the last 1/4 of my backswing and my upperbody raises slightly than at setup. My trailing knee does not look good as if it appears not stable. Beyond, I may sway because my trailing hip does not go enough back. So, taking the trailing hip back creates space for more turn. Yes, I do not like going too much back as well what you are referring and try to stay more in front. Your comments are very much appreciated, Adam. Thanks.
Coach, Fair to say you can feel like you are turning into your lead side to let those hands get a head start if you struggle w the early hip rotation? Simpler way to phrase it: feel like my lower body is going towards the target while I hinge the club back. Then once I’m at that stop point you reference, then allow the hands and hips to go together?
It’s the last 2 minutes that hit me with my pre shot routine. “My left shoulder under my chin to see my right foot”. What a great check point to keep me covering the golf ball……
I've been battling this proble.for years, turn completely gone at takeaway...it's annoying...it goes away and I play great but it just always creeps back in over time
10%/90% Does that mean at 10% I should feel my left shoulder is done pushing my hands and arms to the right, and that my wrist is completely set with thumbs fully pointing up, and the remaining 90% is my body turn to the top of the backswing?
I had a crazy lie one day where my only play was to point my right toe almost towards the target I think this kept my knee flex and I hit a perfect shot
I had an instructor tell me I had an overactive left knee. So he restricted the turn which of course didn’t work. It wasn’t until Adam talked about sequencing that this made sense. I was 90-10 instead of 10-90.
My problem has been bringing my arms too far inside early. I understand when he says if you this you restrict your backswing. I believe it is because your right shoulder gets in the way. Anyone, let me know if that is correct.
Um. Sorry but “ you should have….” Don’t make demands bro you sound like an ungrateful person. Have some self respect and some respect for the “free” lessons your getting and also from a great coach. I recommend you Grow up a bit

This 10-90 tip is a real game changer for me, I can feel my body more in sync
It’s the last 2 minutes that hit me with my pre shot routine.
“My left shoulder under my chin to see my right foot”.
What a great check point to keep me covering the golf ball……
Do you do that with your driver swing?
I was hitting these good until I got to the longer clubs. Anything need to change ?
Can this cause early extension as well?
Wow!!! I love this video’s!
I've been battling this proble.for years, turn completely gone at takeaway...it's annoying...it goes away and I play great but it just always creeps back in over time
I wish Dr. Porzak made house calls, my iron swing needs CPR probably need paddles to shock my swing back to life.
10%/90%
Does that mean at 10% I should feel my left shoulder is done pushing my hands and arms to the right, and that my wrist is completely set with thumbs fully pointing up, and the remaining 90% is my body turn to the top of the backswing?
So don’t straighten your right leg ? What does that cause if you do?
this could be one of your best, IMO. One comment, when the body turn is 10% then 90%, I believe the wrist set at those points is 90% then 10% !.
My right hip over turns early and right leg straightens too much. Causes arms to lift and run on.
I had a crazy lie one day where my only play was to point my right toe almost towards the target I think this kept my knee flex and I hit a perfect shot

I'm too tight in my hips to do this. No way I can turn my upper body and not my hips like that
Looked like Fort Desoto.🤔
