Fun fact about Orphan of Kos I learned while trying to practice speedrunning on NG+ His placenta spin and jump attacks are actually parryable in both phases. It's the only way i was able to reliably beat his second phase. In a low level run the jump attack parry might he too risky though as you can still get hit and die even if the parry is successful because of how the hitbox lines up!

Quick til in the shadows of Yharnam: Once you only have 1 left, you can continuously stagger him with your melee, then shoot him repeatedly until not your stamina comes back, then repeat. Doing this keeps him from summoning the snakes, or really fighting back at all.
cleric beast(use molotov while backed off), father casgoine(parry), witch of hemwick(get rid of your currency known as insight to prevent the infinitely respawning enemies), darkbeast paarl(use electric weapon or bolt paper), vicar amelia(use the antiheal item so she doesn't get to heal in the middle of the fight), celestial emissary(when trying to figure out which one it is at first, pay attention to the boss health bar), ebrietas(you can get between her "legs" and freely attack her while staying behind her, unsure if the flying attack happens when doing this), (bonus, Ludwig is genuinely just a super fun get good boss), (bonus, laurence isn't all that bad. he is basically cleric beast with a phase 2 that you need to learn hot to "train" him so his lava isn't an issue), lady maria(just like father gascoine most of her attacks are pretty easily parryable, granted the parry's are harder than gascoine's, and even if you don't do this she is still another super fun get good boss), (every boss i didn't say anything about, he either said the tip/spoke of the tip or i forgot)
You can lock on and shoot the sword during the Logarius fight instead of running up to it to smack it. Saves time and makes that attack slightly less annoying.
Comment from OG vid: Did you try out lies of P? I was really impressed by the game for a first attempt at a souls-like from neowiz it was a banger in my opinion.
@@feebleking21 if you do end up playing it, I recommend focusing on parries as I felt that playstyle was the most rewarding. However lies of P does have alot of ways to respond to enemies so do experiment if you end up not liking the tight window on parries.
@@feebleking21I also really recommend it. It has some really great bosses, though in my opinion it's first half is fantastic, crescendos, then there is about 1/4 of it that I really felt was quite bad before another fantastic 1/4 at the end with three good bosses in the end. It's like a combination of Sekiro with Bloodborne.
It wasn't very reliable but for Ebrietas charge attack just letting it hit will leave you like 2hp as the reason it 1shots is due to the dodge doing extra dmg to you. obviously the hitbox is still the size of bloody Wall the size of a city
I still wish elden ring had a parry system based around crossbows giving an alternative to parrying because I love being able to parry without needing to sacrifice health if I do fail.
@@StepJoJoElden ring has several bosses with 3+ roll catches. There are no such things as a "parry catch", if you succesfully parry then the ennemy is slightly staggered, when you succesfully dodge roll you still need to think about the **several** roll catches that _could_ follow. Which means that you can first time more bosses with parrying than with rolls, because of the memorization needed.
@@milothan-poirier570 Its funny how you say "could". 99% of the time, there is no "could" with Elden Ring bosses. Discover the best openings based on good positioning, ignore other ways to roll those attacks so that you don't have to learn his whole moveset. Its not that hard, much easier than doing parries, and much more consistent than it was in any other souls game
I think it’s funny how Shadows and Rom, back to back, are all made easier by old hunter bell assists. Which are found right before the fight. I get it, it’s a challenge run so he can’t do that, but yeah on a normal run it’s quite helpful
Ah, now i see how people could possibly consider this game hard. You dont parry! Gascoigne is there to teach you how to parry not to try and dodge the beast he becomes. I first tried gascoigne on my first playthrough cause someone told me parrying is good and i should learn it.
gz man, its a huge accomplishment. Also your damage looked so low. were you playing without bloodgems or is this how damage looks on bl4 wit a +10 weapon with 2x 18% and 1x 15% blood gem?
I think his damage was pretty low definitely. When I did Orphan at BL4 some years ago, a single R1 on Phase 1 was something like 190 (and a bit lower on Phase 2), while he seems to do 100-110 here. He also didn't seem to utilize any of the HP runes, since that would shield you a lot from constant OHKs. I personally did do many of the chalice dungeons too (but not the main Depth 4 cursed dungeons), which gave me some pretty decent bloodgems, and he said on the video that he didn't bother too much with them (he did seem to do some of them based on the video footage, but I'm not sure how much).
Actually, Father Gascoin is the first boss, the cleric beast and other bosses are just optional bosses, if u can continue the game immediately after a boss fight like getting to a new area that's a regular story boss!
I hate to say it but This game is the easiest by far in the lineup for me. Parrying is so heavily incentivised that it makes like 80% of the game free. Free bullets for parrying Free health for parrying Damage boosts for parrying More echoes for parrying Its crazy.
Agreed. Bosses are way too easy but it is a much older game so it can lean on that as an excuse. I still replay it the least because there’s so much mid
@tyler547 Some friends and I were bored one night and decided to rank every soulsborne boss on a big tier list. The amount of C and D tier entries we had for bloodborne surprised us at first. We only had like 3-4 above B tier. Also Id say its even easier than DS1 tbh. For some reason the slowness of 1 keeps it middle of the list in terms of difficulty for me.
@@extrakrispy81 Fully agreed. Im literally worse at ds1 than elden ring because it feels so weird when i go back to it. I think ds2 killed me more than any other game to this day.
I think you might have missed the part (he should’ve given it more attention tbh) where it is mentioned that viscerals are significantly worse at bl4. Visceral damage scales mainly with skill, but also increases each blood level. This is the main way to increase visceral damage. Meaning that after the early game you get more damage going for a charged heavy instead of a visceral. And the later in the game you get, the bigger the difference. I definitely had a build based on viscerals my first playthrough, it is fun. Restoring bullets on a successful one especially is clutch. BUT you are not restoring bullets or healing or getting that damage buff without a visceral. And especially against harder bosses, it is tough to sacrifice a ton of damage. I agree that in general, Bloodborne is not super tough. But I thought you might be lacking context to mention specifically the parrying as a reason why it is easy. Most of the time yes, not bl4 though.
So, I have done Orphan of Kos at Lvl4, and most of my phase 2 damage was from R1 attacks, I didn't bother to learn the abusable R2 chains on phase 2 (on the video I captured, I did just a single R2 -> R2 backstab combo and one R2 on a failed combo), although I did double R2 backstab him on phase 1 just because it was relatively easy and got me faster back on phase 2. But the key difference seems to be that I do almost double the damage you do (190 something on a single R1 Phase 1, little lower on Phase 2), and I have equipped the runes to maximize my HP and damage reduction so that there are basically no OHK attacks other than combos. I went through most of the dungeons except for the mandatory cursed chalice dungeons (and whatever's locked behind them), because that's just pure OHK performance and I don't think I have it within me to go through that. Still, I got some nice bloodgems thanks to that, which is probably why my damage is so much higher than yours. I don't know if that's half as impressive as you wished on the video, about the whole no stunlocking thing about Orphan, because I still spent way more time on that playthrough than you, but it was BL4. And funny enough, I haven't gotten around to finishing it yet either, since I haven't done Gehrman yet. My BL4 run was more of a casual pet project if you can call it that? I started it out of curiosity. I just go back to that game once in a while and hammer at the bosses with the BL4 character.
@@ContentCreature there it is, the famed "git gud" for deflecting from a real argument. I've beaten the boss plentiful times with all builds, assure u skill isn't the issue. done a bl4 run myself too
@@carlossssssss5492 I think the point is that it's a core mechanic that interacts with the moveset. Also, almost everything leads to a backstab opportunity in either phase, so it definitely allows for engaging with a variety of moves. Notable exceptions are the projectile attacks at a distance, but you wouldn't be able to punish those anyway.
@@carlossssssss5492 Sure, most players take the path of least resistance, but there's definitely more than two punish windows. It would be tedious to list all the variations.

I'll get back to you when I beat kos (or as some say, kosm) at level four no backstab shenanigans. The date is Jul. 30, I am going to start trying or the 31st.
Youd have a better time limiting your Vitality level and leveling up your offensive options. I did multiple playthroughs where i got vigor to 20-25 but got skill or blootinge to 40 and endurance to 30 and had a great time finishing the games around BL65-80
@@teeess970 That's what everyone says but even at endurance 25 i didn't feel comfortable. I like roleplaying as an athletic hunter, not an asthmatic who has to retreat after 2 hits.
if u had fun thats all that matters. But thats not the most optimal stat spread. espescially when the effectiveness of vials is determined by your max health. And theres runes that increase stamina and stam recovery. Many meta pvp builds run base stamina shockingly
That's probably very much true, especially since then you would have a wider variety of weapons available to you, because with the Waste Of Skin class at BL4 you are restricted to being able to only use Saw Cleaver and Saw Spear. Every single other primary weapon has higher minimum stat requirements IIRC, although you can at least use the flamethrower if you don't like your pistol. But that's the thing, if you just want to make the game more challenging, restricting your vitality is a nice way of going about it, but there's some weird and cool about playing the game through with a starting character with its starting stats that the developers have labelled literally as "Waste Of Skin", a character that's in-universe one of the weakest and worst humans out there, who can only improve themselves by acquiring stronger tools. You're a bum on a quest to kill some Eldritch abominations secretly masterminding humanity, and you only have some crude but shiny beast hunting weapon. That's a different appeal than just doing a restricted vitality run.

Your not supposed to chase Micholash. Run to the middle hallway and he goes to the room. Everytime. If your chasing him your doing it wrong
Bloodborne at BL4 has been my favorite run of all of the FromSoftware games. Hopefully there will be a follow up or a remaster in the near future.
i just want to say 2 things witches can be hella cheesed by spending all your insight and ludwig is programmed to stagged when hes low enough to be killed by a visceral attack
Sometimes I think I should do these types of videos too, but damn you really cooked in this one. You are very talented when it comes to this type of content
Thanks!
Ive never had any issue with ebrietas... i was shocked to find out shes considered the hardest boss
I can't get enough of Bloodborne retrospectives
So I have finally done my first no levelling playthrough of a soulslike: my BL4 playthrough of Bloodborne!
I did most of the chalice dungeons too to kill Queen Yharnam and farm some better gems in an FRC dungeon because I play offline.
It took 115 hours but finally it is done. 10/10 game
i hated the boss for the first 7 hours but after that it was fun LMAO
Fun fact about Orphan of Kos I learned while trying to practice speedrunning on NG+
His placenta spin and jump attacks are actually parryable in both phases.
It's the only way i was able to reliably beat his second phase.
In a low level run the jump attack parry might he too risky though as you can still get hit and die even if the parry is successful because of how the hitbox lines up!
Bro neither used guns, heavy attacks and tried to roll most of the game.
Good video my guy. Bloodborne was my second FromSoft game after Elden Ring (of which my playthrough took well over 300 hours)
I kinda thought BB to be super easy, I don't know why. It just clicks for me. Every single beast-type boss I killed first try except Ludwig, Kos took me less than a dozen deaths and the Logarius/Maria both took a handful tries. But I leveled, I might try a lvl 4 run at some time, I probably prefer BB over ER
There's a Fume Knight mod for DS2 that replaces all the enemies and bosses as a Fume Knight. There should be a Blue Smelter Demon mod like that in your honor.
Oh my god you’re genuinely the first UA-camr I’ve heard pronounce Gascoigne correctly
And they hated me for it

49:07 I DID IT. Saw this video when it came out and thought I could do it so I started a BL4 run. I did some bosses hitless and moved on to orphan and was actually able to beat him without backstabs, buffs or parry today. Probably 20+ hours of practice.

Quick til in the shadows of Yharnam:
Once you only have 1 left, you can continuously stagger him with your melee, then shoot him repeatedly until not your stamina comes back, then repeat.
Thats some crazy committment, good job!
5:33 the most average blood starved beast experience.
With gascoigne you can use the music box the child gives you to stagger him but if you use it to much he becomes the monster faster
man you are an artist for doing this at blood lv 4 and with no consumables and no VAs too.

If you want to lose your hair, do chalice dungeons until the queen at bl4.
You can lock on and shoot the sword during the Logarius fight instead of running up to it to smack it. Saves time and makes that attack slightly less annoying.
Good idea
God i loved this video. It sounds like you’re actually talking about something significant to you and important.
Comment from OG vid: Did you try out lies of P? I was really impressed by the game for a first attempt at a souls-like from neowiz it was a banger in my opinion.
No I didn't end up playing that one, although i might get around to buying it one of these days.
@@feebleking21 if you do end up playing it, I recommend focusing on parries as I felt that playstyle was the most rewarding. However lies of P does have alot of ways to respond to enemies so do experiment if you end up not liking the tight window on parries.
@@feebleking21 Lies of P is on Steam sale right now. Worth every penny and easily one of the best non FromSoft soulslikes.
Amazing video!!
I still wish elden ring had a parry system based around crossbows giving an alternative to parrying because I love being able to parry without needing to sacrifice health if I do fail.
If you are aware that you'll get clapped for failing a perry that doesn't exist for crossbows and so on, just roll bruv
I wish people didn't just focus on the bosses. The enemies and the levels are there too.
Also only focusing on the boss ends up with peole hating the run backs. Which is weird because it's just playing an aweaome level over again.
Man idk if I wanna watch an hourlong video dancing around the fact that getting one shot is not fun.
Just wait till you get to the part where he spends weeks at orphan without learning to parry his attacks to trivialize the fight.
@@IntimacyMN I want to mock the man missing the very obvious way go about that fight, but that's honestly just impressive that he did it no parry.
@@IntimacyMN
Visceral attack damage scales with blood tinge meaning they do almost zero damage on a BL4 run.
@@BBQcheese Because the utility of being able to stun orphan and hit it with anything else you want isn't good enough i guess.
@@IntimacyMN
It's much easier, more consistent and does more damage stun him with a backstab. Gun parries are pretty useless at BL4.
Great content dude keep it up
Can't wait to see your Elden Ring lvl1 no scadutree no upgrade run.
I think it’s funny how Shadows and Rom, back to back, are all made easier by old hunter bell assists. Which are found right before the fight. I get it, it’s a challenge run so he can’t do that, but yeah on a normal run it’s quite helpful
Rewatching the upload to support the King, no matter how feeble he may be
I for one was especially disappointed at how many new and unique enemies the dlc had. Should have copy/pasta'd everything like ER.
Ah, now i see how people could possibly consider this game hard. You dont parry! Gascoigne is there to teach you how to parry not to try and dodge the beast he becomes. I first tried gascoigne on my first playthrough cause someone told me parrying is good and i should learn it.
Yep. Bloodborne is better in lvl4. It’s a nice challenge. Good work.
Ebrietas is a pain if you fight it normally, but it's also got the easiest cheese to kill it with no difficulty lol
Shadow of the Erdtree is worse if you don’t try to learn the bosses!
Bloodbourne was so good, better than the dull empty open world of shadow of the rollslop tree
This game would of been so much better with boobie giggle Physics
Bro didn't open the cainhurst shortcut 😭
Kos is harder than Malenia bcz he's actually a good boss lol
Edit: also to note, the 2nd phase Ludwig OST is a cover of Moonlight Sonata 2nd movement
gz man, its a huge accomplishment.
For sure. No chalice dungeon BL 4 is amazing fun. Feels very much like BL 120 NG Max
I hate to say it but This game is the easiest by far in the lineup for me. Parrying is so heavily incentivised that it makes like 80% of the game free.
Free bullets for parrying
Free health for parrying
Damage boosts for parrying
More echoes for parrying
Its crazy.
Played today after the Elden ring dlc, even the orphan wasn’t that difficult and I remember straight up not being able to beat it
I think you might have missed the part (he should’ve given it more attention tbh) where it is mentioned that viscerals are significantly worse at bl4.

How is countering Orphan P2 attacks with backstan not engaging with his movesets? Is it an exploit to dodge hits correctly?
Cause it's really just a waiting game, I had attempts where I was dodging around for 3+ minutes without getting the opportunity.
@@Dargonsouls look at the way even challenge runners engage with his second phase moveset, he has two punishable attacks.
@@carlossssssss5492 Sure, most players take the path of least resistance, but there's definitely more than two punish windows. It would be tedious to list all the variations.

Bloodborne is the easiest souls game, it was my first and the easiest imo. Didnt die more then 6 times on a boss.
I'll get back to you when I beat kos (or as some say, kosm) at level four no backstab shenanigans. The date is Jul. 30, I am going to start trying or the 31st.
"Ah yes, Bloodborne IS better at level 4" I say to myself as I enter the cummmmfpk dungeon for the 45th time
Youd have a better time limiting your Vitality level and leveling up your offensive options.
I did multiple playthroughs where i got vigor to 20-25 but got skill or blootinge to 40 and endurance to 30 and had a great time finishing the games around BL65-80
You can beat the game at an even lower level then too because that is about double the stamina you need, for real :)
How can there be a bad boss in a perfect game?
