- Dabo Swinney and Clemson have been on top of the ACC for nearly a decade now with everyone forming opinions. On Late Kick Live Ep 395 Josh Pate discussed the ways the general College Football public have formed their view on Dabo Swinney. Is it legitimate to describe the Clemson head coach as inauthentic? Do many people confuse dislike for the team someone coaches with dislike for the person themselves? As Winston Churchill once said, if you've got enemies then that means you've stood up for something in your life.
Amen to that
Dabo is a classy dude. When Clemson lost to Syracuse he went and spoke to the Orange after the game. He told them it wasn't a fluke. You guys kicked our asses fair and square, no excuses, congratulations
That is classy. Thanks for sharing.
That’s tacky, basically he was saying y’all weren’t supposed to beat us but y’all did.
@@tractor1397 Saying good game is tacky wtf is ur logic😂
@@tractor1397Nick Saban literally said those exact words to Kirby Smart after Georgia beat Alabama for a National Championship during the on-field hand shake.

He is real to his players. That's all that matters!
The guy who makes millions and doesn’t want his players to be paid?
@@smyzo and yet all these players who he so clearly hates and thinks should make no money still love him and want to play for him… odd; or then again maybe you’re just being disingenuous, taking a small clip from years ago out of context where he made it abundantly obvious that he didnt like the idea of players getting a direct salary like PRO players. His entire point was that college isnt pro and if theyre gonna change it to something like that then he oughta just go to the pros. Not your fault though, all the media outlets did the same thing when he said it

That is the HOME GAME uniform.
Great segment, and couldn't agree more with your overall conclusion. However, running down the hill doesn't really count as a "Dabo thing." Clemson starting doing that in 1967, two years before Dabo was born.
I think he was referring to Dabo sprinting down the hill in front of the team, not the tradition of the team running down the hill.
Willy Korn told a great story about how when he was struggling with an injury Dabo went out of his way to give him a ride home for thanksgiving break and made the point that Dabo is all you see is what you get
Yea Dabo couldn't wait to get Korn out of town. Willy Korn, yea I almost forgot about that loser.
"Get an idea of the why before judging the what."
Here's a kid who grew up having to sleep on the floor at his friends' houses because his father was an alcoholic and his mother couldn't meet rent on her department store salary. He was so poor he qualified for a Pell Grant which allowed him to go to Alabama and walk-on. He earned a scholarship and planned to graduate with a business degree and go into hospital administration until Gene Stallings told him he's going to get a Master's Degree because he needed a grad assistant for next year. When the staff at Alabama got fired, his connections from football allowed him to get a job in commercial real estate. His football connections got him back into coaching when Tommy Bowden needed a receivers coach. The emphasis Dabo places on his faith and the value of the college experience are a direct result of how they both transformed his life.
One of the best segments ever on the show. That’s not college football, that’s life.
As an FSU fan I’m just tired we keep getting beat by Clemson.
@@halomaster9640hole.... That was not Bobby's decision. He made it quite clear he wanted to join the SEC. So shut your pie hole you don't know what you're talking about. The final decision was made by a university president, The board of regents and the athletic director. Now you know how we felt (Clemson fans) when we only won 1 game out of eleven sure when Dabo came along and coach Bowden retired things flipped, just remember this, no one and I mean no one stays on the mountain top for ever even the mighty Alabama will tumble one day, by the way I respected coach Bobby Bowden...GO Tigers...
@@leegoldman7491 I hear you loud and clear. Heavy is the head that wears the crown That is for sure! Thank you for the kind words about Bobby. I have a lot of respect for Dabo as well. He says some strange things sometimes that I don't always agree with but I do respect him. In his interview after the Florida State game last season he was very complimentary to our team and our coach. It was obvious that he knows we are definitely on our way back. The game in the valley this year should be a really good one!
By the way it was one out of 12... 11 in a row 😉

I'm really glad you did this segment. made me think. some of the same reasons i used to hate dabo, have made me love him a lot more now. Namely his faith and it kind of parallels my faith journey, same with my feelings about tebow. I respect him a lot and honestly support him. much love dabo! and thankful for your faith too josh!
Our Coach Brent Venerables speaks highly of Dabo and is trying to build the same type of culture here at OU. Aside from the portal but I think as the years go on we will have less players coming and going. Nothing but respect for Dabo.
Running 🏃♂️ down the hill is a special experience for a fan it gets the juices 🥤 flowing
With sucess comes criticism
Dabo is a pioneer in coaching college football. He's the first coach I've ever heard talk about loving his players and staff. Typically, love isn't a man word but Dabo goes beyond the stereotype of football being a tough guy only sport. He knows these kids are tough but he also loves their hearts. It's not popular, but it's real in the lives of kids. These young players will be grown men a lot longer than they will be football players. He cares about their future and that might simply be unpopular in the world of tough guys. I would join his staff in a minute if given the opportunity. He's definitely doing something right. Thanks Josh.
I’ve always liked Dabo. I like that hes upfront about his faith, you may not like his approach but I personally would have loved to have a coach like that. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed watching tenneseee beat him last year in the orange bowl but I have a lot of respect for Dabo and his coaching philosophy
Same
Got a fun story about Dabo. Nearly 8 years ago I was a high school freshman at a Swinney Camp. I broke my arm hours into the camp and couldn’t go the rest of the way. Dabo caught wind of this and arranged me to meet him and watch his process and introduced me to Trevor Lawrence, who at the time was just a recruit. Last summer, I got a job for a Clemson media outlet and I ran into him after a press conference and he instantly recognized me and knew my name. He and I ended up catching up for an hour about life. None of it seemed like he had to or it was fake. That’s just who he is.
It is who he is. He also has an uncannily knack for remembering people he has meet only once. He loves people and is genuinely interested in the people he meets.
Great show Josh ! I'm a Dabo fan & really apreciate your comments. I am also a BIG Josh Pate fan & enjoy your show!
I met Dabo at Captain D's in Pelham, AL. His mom lives there. He is just an Alabama boy who had to make good somewhere besides home. He is a praying man. I prayed with him. He let me pray with him about taking over for Saban someday, even though he had won a Natty at Clemson and said he was pleased, there. But he sat alone in a Pelham Captian D's. And he prayed with me that Go'ds will would be done in the matter. I still hope he takes over after Saban wins a tenth Natty. In 5 years, perhaps?
I love his coach ability
I think Dabo can be a little cringey but I think he really loves his players and he’s big on creating a family atmosphere. Even if he is cringey it is who he is we’re allowed to be different. I like Dabo.
I mean he changed a programs landscape so it’s kind of hard to hate the guy. don’t really follow Clemson but I’ve never heard anything bad about him. seems like a pretty cool dude
Dabo has done an outstanding job at Clemson. He is a little “Bowdenesque” in front of a camera, but relishes in the moment. He makes others feel like Clemson is Clempson. I hope he ends his coaching career at Clemson.
Dabo is the nicest man there is
As a lifelong Clemson fan who started going to games like 20 years ago when they would often go 6-6 or 7-5 some seasons, Dabo has truly changed the program in a way that I don't think any other coach could have. 20 years ago not many people knew who Clemson was, and now just about every single person does. With that being said, the super way-overboard religious stuff that Dabo does truly feels like a cringy pandering, especially with the way he overplays it. When (12) Clemson wins a huge rivalry game like against (6) Notre Dame in a hurricane game, he starts doing a TV sermon in the post-game interview. When (3) Clemson got blown out against (5) FSU in 2013 in Death Valley, I don't really remember hearing about how God made Tahj Boyd fumble and throw interceptions, or how God made the receivers drop the ball a dozen times.
With that being said, this is South Carolina, so he knows where his bread is buttered I guess. I see the perception (at least on social media) of Dabo outside of the SC bubble, and the general consensus is that he has (admittedly) sometimes said some really stupid, unnecessary shit. He said definitely said some things about social stuff or about how he doesn't think players should be fairly compensated for their labor (despite Dabo being the TOP PAID employee in the entire state of SC, directly because of all those kids) that, even as a Clemson faithful, made me cringe insanely hard. When it comes to all of the other football stuff, he's 100% serious and real though. I don't think he's inauthentic. I do wish he would do more interviews like on Late Kick and have longform discussions, I think it would change the perception of him. I also hope he starts using the transfer portal and stops needlessly handicapping the entire program when every other team is using it. It's dumb. Regardless of everything else though, he has changed the Clemson program in a magical way and had a sustained, impressive, almost unbelievable string of success the last decade or so. Him, by chance, taking over after Tommy Bowden as an interim coach and proving himself then being hired as HC was the best thing they have ever done here.
Great take. If you meet and speak to any of his players or even just listen to them speak you can tell how completely authentic the guy really is. I also agree running down the hill is really weird. It’s going to be even more weird when he falls one day.
I'm a Notre Dame fan and I like Dabo. He seems like a nice guy and genuine to me.
Dabo will not have a difficult time finding employment in another conference 5 team. I can’t see Clemson getting rid of Dabo.
Dabo is a solid, effective coach. He is entertaining in front of the camera which I bet attracts young players.
As a Gamecock, I respect the guy. Is he perfect? No, but I believe he’s genuine and a great head coach
I say the same about Shane Beamer too.
Agree.
@@hufferbillypawagreed.
I have met coach Swinney several times at the annual "Prowl & Growl" yes I am a huge Clemson fan since 1971 the year I came home from Vietnam and I'm also a devout christian, what I like about Dabo is he is a winner, he is the type of coach that rather lose the right way than win the wrong way and there are a lot of college football coaches that feels the same way, last word a lot of people hated Jesus Christ and still today but when they die they all want to be with Him, think about it...Go get em Tigers...
Super classy great guy
I love Dabo, stubborn to the core, but he does things his way but the results are fantastic so I let him be.
He is a genuine man of God and that's how he recruits so well
I personally love him and if I had a son that wanted to play football, I would want him to be coached by Dabo, wherever he is coaching.
I am a dawg grad and have always hated CU. Having said that, I think Dabo is a fine man with flaws like all of us. He is a man of high morals and integrity, who may make some bad choices like all of us. His policy of telling recruits to shut down visits after committing is a bit of pie in the sky and hurts the kids. They should enjoy the experience.
It's not quite that cut-and-dry it's actually the opposite of what you're thinking, he actually encourages them to take as many visits as they want he wants them to make sure that before they commit to Clemson they are a hundred percent committed you're looking at that from the wrong angle.
First Clemson is located in a very special place the Upstate of SC. On or off the field Dabo is consistent and Authentic. For the doubters I would look at the men that graduate.
DABO: his Life would be an Incredible Movie.
I consider myself in either bucket two or three. I had/have a lot of personal animosity towards Dabo because of how “churchy” he is and because of “little ol Clemson”, especially during the social unrest in the summer of 2020. But all of that, or if he is tacky, is irrelevant to me because as Josh says “this sport is not played or coached by angels”. However, I was at the 2016 Fiesta Bowl as a member of the media and I can say having been in the room that Dabo is a ray of sunshine compared to Urban, who I think is the “heavily produced” personality that people think Dabo is. I think the proof is in how he interacts with strangers: Dabo treats everyone with the same baseline respect no matter who they are whereas certain coaches have less than zero regard for anyone they think isn’t as smart as them. Dabo is actually a little more self aware than that. Let’s just not dig too deeply into the message board archives to examine how his players were behaving as citizens when on campus over the years.
The last line of your comment is pretty ridiculous. I will be happy to compare the "off field" behavior of Dabo's players to other top programs any day of the week. Outside of a few isolated incidents, they generally stay of out of trouble.
Part of the Lil O CLEMSON is that the towns population is less than 18K and 28K students including post grad. So it's a small town and a relatively small school. There is no South Beach, Atlanta, etc big city attractions. Just a lake, hills and a simple life. This makes recruiting difficult. A lot of kids don't want that lifestyle for 4 years. Sammy Watkins had difficulty sleeping in CLEMSON because he was used to gun shots and sirens throughout the night. Versus crickets and a nice breeze. Dabo has some faults but who doesn't. I love the man and what he stands for. He's a players coach and successful in how he runs the program. Although, he needs to be going after the big name coaches versus being so loyal and bringing up assistants in my humble opinion. GO TIGERS!
Good comments. Then there’s this: Dabo does a lot of media and a lot of things in front of mic/camera that rub fans/alums the wrong way. You know what? I don’t think he cares. When Dabo speaks publicly, for the most part he’s talking to the players on his team and 16-18 year old young men who play football. He’s a constant motivator and constant recruiter. He reminds me A LOT of Univ of Arkansas basketball coach ERIC MUSSELMAN.
He’s Great
Josh. He had an in depth interview with 247
Dabo is an incredible leader just ask the players, seen alot of good young men come out of Dabo's
Teams over the years!!!?
He is a great coach. His political ideas are not always for me. He is having some down years, but he will be back once he gets the right coordinators.
He has had enough success to show that he can be a great coach, but he needs to get with the times or it's going to be very difficult to get Clemson back to where they were as one of the top tier teams. It's a vastly different game than is was just 3 years ago
This segment could have been about any head coach, at any of the ELITE PROGRAMS in D1 college football. When a program is excelling, winning conference championships, and playing in the CFP, people/fans are going to talk negatively about you. When you lose games, people are going to talk negatively about you. Bottom line is, people are going to talk about you, and most of it will be negative.
People are just mad bc Clemson has smoked their team in the recent past
Josh, do a little research. Running down the hill at Clemson began before William Christopher was conceived. Frank Howard, of Howard's Rock fame, started it when the team locker room was across the street from the football stadium.
Listen closer and realize I'm talking about the head coach running out in a sprint well ahead of the team. - JP
@@LateKickwithJoshPate As you suggested, I did listen again. The inference to Dabo sprinting ahead of the team may have been in your mind, it was not clear to me in your words. A nit, not worth dissecting. Thank you for your response.
I live in SC and am a gamecocks fan. But I don't love Dabo because of the way he seems to manufacture the Clemson vs the world mentality. You can't say Clemson vs the world after you win 2 National Titles in the playoff era
Love the show but why ask for opinions and cast aside if someone says he’s fake? People can have that opinion if it is an opinion.
I agree. Unless you know the person, you cannot know but you can have an opinion.
Bucket 4 is someone opinion but you asked
Truth be told I view Dabo as a Bobby Bowden light. Both were very religious men and were up front about it. I do give Bowden credit for being better with Xs and Os but that was not Bowden's strength. Both were what I call players coaches but again Bowden had advantages. One story about Bowden was that multiple times Bowden visited a recruit's home and while the recruit was not totally sold on FSU Bowden impressed the recruit's Mother so much that she almost forced her kid to go to FSU. I do agree with you that both Bowden and Dabo are 'what you see is what you get'.
Maybe the biggest similarity is that both were most successful with two of the best DCs around. Mickey and Brent are top tier DCs and both were a huge factor in the success of their programs. My take is that when Brent left that was the start of the current Clemson decline and like when Mickey left FSU never really recovered Clemson seems to not be headed in the right direction. Another huge factor Clemson faces that was not really an issue with FSU's decline is the NIL money. I am not sure how well Clemson/Dabo can compete with schools like TAM, USC, Oregon, and the other big buck schools.
Just so you know, Clemson’s D is gonna be elite this year. And while NIL is a factor for some 4 and 5 star kids, it isn’t for other kids. Those other kids that Clemson values because they have their heads screwed on straight. We have NIL,at Clemson too. We just don’t lead with it. We let the current Clemson players earning NIL tell prospects their experience. It sells itself without it being the main reason for coming here.
But let the haters hate. Clemson and Dabo will continue to win and prove them wrong. It will make them so mad too. 😂🤣
I've met the man. You will be hard pressed to find a more genuine human. He has said it before: "Id rather lose the right way, than win the wrong way." Jimbo fisher is his polar opposite. His desire is to lead young into adulthood the correct way. Educate them ("until diploma do us part") and prepare them for real life. The football program revolves around the players and their well being. These players are offered internships and learn how to manage money. How may teams do that? Hate him or love him, he will have a legacy of young men that are productive citizens.
That Defense is not gonna be the same. We all know why.
Please do tell

I don't always agree with Mr. Pate, but I respect him and what he does. I would much rather see him on Fox weekdays instead of that ambulance chaser Colin Cowherd.
Clemson vs the world mentality is a mentality ANY TEAM NOT IN THE SEC can relate to. ACC teams can go undefeated and be doubted or ranked lower than a m sec team....mind you, an sec team that clemson would go on to smack down in the championship game. I get it, I think it's justified, and I think it's a great way to authentically boost morale and brotherhood. SEC is losing its grip which will for sure eventually make that a less viable mindset. Love Dabo and love the culture there. They're not the only ones that have a great faith based culture but they are one of the only ones that get to the biggest mic/ audience regularly AND give shout outs to Jesus...even on defense lol

Dabo is a great coach. He out coached my Bama team twice. When the GOAT retires come home Dabo. ROLL TIDE ROLL!
Dabo has been the same dude since he stepped up as Interim HC, and apparently he was the same guy before that. If he’s faking it, he is one of the greatest actors of all time. And he’s not a great actor. He’s really just that dude.
Dabo is a good coach and motivator who let the game pass him by with regard to the transfer portal and NIL. He won 2 titles with generational QBs. Make of that what you will.
Also, most people just don’t like his “aww shucks” shtick.
They especially don't like it after they've just gotten their butts kicked by his team.
Hell I've been fake all my life. At least that's what all the haters say. But it's not my fault I treat people with respect and they don't. Anyway, Dabo is a former Crimson Tide man from the state of Alabama. At one time I wanted him to become head coach after Saban retires. But now I'm more like "Nah, I don't want him to be head coach at Alabama." Why? Because I've been spoiled with what Saban has built. Remember when they played in 2016, and ESPN did that computer animated skit about how Saban and Dabo was polar opposites? I think that was narrated by Ryan Magee. Anyway it was hilarious for one. But Dabo is country as af! 😂 so yeah, I've gotten used to Saban's approach. But I still think Dabo is a great coach.
In 2024, the SEC will have 16 out of 24 National Championships.
Dabo finally went outside the internal bubble of coaches and made a hopefully great Oc hire. Streeter was awful and managed to make Lawrence and DJ U worse when they came in.
I like dabo theres a very good chance he will replace Nick Saban once he retires and I would support that hire. He's an excellent coach and man
Dabo is going to retire at Clemson
@@marcuscameron800 bro no he's not he's literally on record saying he'd take the Alabama job if it's offered to him he played for Alabama and won an national championship and he coached there for like 8 years. If Alabama offers him the job when Saban retires he's taking it

I generally like Dabo. He comes across as a players coach, smart, knows the game, successful recruiter. The big hairy but you smell coming is he is disingenuous at best telling others, Clemson's path to the CFP is as difficult as everyone else's.
I think Dabo is a very good coach.if Nick Saban where to retire at Alabama Alabama would be at Dabo door seconds later.HOGJIM.
Correct me if wrong here, but running down the hill was never a Dabo thing. Been a Clemson tradition for a while before "Dat boy" arrived
Over 50 years. 1940's I think. Longer tradition than Dabo has been alive. A real tradition unlike so-called traditions that have only been around for 20 years or so.
I think some people have an issue with Dabi running down the hill- growing up going to the games, I honestly don't recall if Danny Ford, Tommy West, or if any of the other head coaches ran down the hill- but if they did it wasn't at the front. It was a player led thing. I think Danny stood at the end of the band tunnel waiting for his boys.
Listen again. Someone else was confused by it as well. He's talking about Dabo himself running down the hill ahead of the team, not the actual running down the hill tradition itself. He's brought it up because A LOT of Dabo haters seem to have issue with him doing that.
Dabo lost a lot of credibility with the “football matters” shirt a few years ago. He proved that he does not care about tube same things as the kids he has to recruit
Try to get Venables back. It all worked well when he was the REAL DEFENSIVE COACH. PAY HIM ACCORDINGLY !
My biggest gripe with Dabo is the same as with anyone who is a devout follower of any religion, it makes no difference to me a persons faith I just don't see the need to tell everyone about it, like Tim Tebow it just seems and over the top humble brag that is just screaming for attention like a little kid needing validation for having done his chores

“People dislike Dabo and I’m going to push back on that”
Wow never heard this segment before.
I like him cause he played for BAMA!
I was pretty neutral on Dabo until the bowl game this last season. He wins, the players really seem to respond well, and other than fumbling DJU, I hadn't seen him hose any of his players. But...in the bowl he called a very boneheaded play at pretty bad time to get the ball into his son's hands. Dabo hurt his team to give a cookie to his boy, so I'm out on Dabo. That's a jackass move of the highest order.
He should have pitched the ball, not dabos fault
So where were you when that play worked against NC 5 weeks earlier? What a fucking dumb ass example.
Bama could do a whole lot worse than Dabo if the GOAT does retire after next season.
I know he went there, but I think he’s fully committed to what he’s built at Clemson. Could be wrong, though.
Nick Saban uses manufactured disrespect against the greatest program in recent history in Alabama. Every coach does.
His coaching tree hasn’t been great. Safe to say I’m not a big fan but I don’t hate the guy. I’ll never forgive Jeff Scott ruining my Alma Mater
I’m a gamecock and I don’t think he’s a bad coach. I think he’s a little animated but you can say that about a lot of people. Good dude just picked the wrong team 😂
Dabo wears socks with sandals
I personally can’t stand the man. He’s way too arrogant and tends to make back handed compliments of other teams that serves no purpose but to showboat and make their fans angry and offended.
If hating dabo is wrong, I don’t wanna be right
LOL. Like he knows about you and cares 😂
Bulldog fan here. My biggest complaint about Dabo is.... he's a bad dancer. Like, worse than usual, cringe-worthy, awful, dancer... who has multiple videos of him dancing very, VERY badly going viral. (after his teams win big games/championships)
...yup, that's about it. In other words, my dislike for him is equal to the boomer attempting (and failing) the cha-cha slide for the first time at a wedding. Tiny amount of respect for putting in the effort, and maybe a bit of amusement, but you can stop now. Please.
....That has nothing to do with the fact that he's a deserving shoe-in for CFB HoF coach, easily among the best 5 coaches of this millenium.
Also, I'm wise enough to understand that any dad who fails to embarrass both himself and anyone who knows him while having a blast doing so whenever they get the chance, including dancing horribly, is failing at being an over-the-hill gentlemanly scholar.
Yup. You hit it spot on.. 😂
Man, Dabo just not cool enough for your standards. lol.
Maybe the rabid Dabo haters are just mad he took "Clemsoning" away from them.
9 times out of 10 most of the people who hate Dabo is due to the fact that he doesn’t apologize for his faith. He is very open and direct about it. That really bothers those who are either non-believers or are not happy in life with themselves. It shines a light on them and their lack of living in a positive, loving and helpful way for others. It expose just how un-Christ-like they are and it eats at them so much that they hate Dabo for doing his utmost to be Christ-like.
Dabo is never going to stop being that way and he is not going to muzzle himself just because some haters are gonna hate. Nope. He is gonna keep shouting from the mountain top! Deal with it haters! Deal with it.
Clemson fans cuss, their coaches cuss and they yell, and they taunt, and they boo, and yes, they cheer as their coach runs up the score just like many other fanbases. It’s football. It’s not a tea party. I of all people understand that. I’m not saying Clemson fans are disgusting and vile. I’m saying Clemson fans shouldn’t try and remove a speck from other’s eyes when they have a beam in their own. Clemson has been accused of stealing signals from their opponents. Paying players cash money through New Spring Church? Dabo calling the payment of players as a Entitlement?

There’s nothing to address lmao. You think it was, others think it wasn’t. Dabo made it very clear that he wasn’t for the “professionalizing” of the sport because college ball isn’t the pros. He never mentioned NIL, just that he didn’t think they should make a salary like the pros cause then it’d be, you know, pro football. He also not even close to the only coach who has pushed back against college players getting paid but he’s the only one that seems to get crap for it, that’s odd. Also with impending NCAA or even Federal regulation it would seem many agree that the NIL wild west setup we have now is not a good solution. The cupcake schedule is such a tired argument man. Georgia every year is tough. Then you get the absolute meat grinder of .500 (or sub .500) Florida, Arkansas, Missouri, Auburn, Kentucky, A&m etc.. congrats man
@@spursc10 Every Dabo accusation you made has never ever been proven and the reason why is because it in fact is not true. Just smear accusations from the haters. But alas, we expect nothing less from the haters. Clemson fans, just like all team’s fans, yell and some say expletives in the heat of the moment. That is not on Dabo. All Clemson fans are not choir boys. Far, far from it. That said, as an opposing fan, you will not be treated nicer at any other place than in Clemson SC. All cussing and yelling aside.
And Dabo, much to many Clemson fans chagrin, does not run up the score. If he gets a comfortable lead, he puts in backups a) to get them game experience. And film that the coaches can use to evaluate those players. Strengths and weaknesses in a real game and b) to reduce the opportunity of injuries to the starters in otherwise meaningless minutes in a blow out game.
And just as @megasamuwell pointed out, Dabo is not against players being allowed to earn $ and to the same, get equal, uniform stipend amounts per player from the universities. As a matter of fact, stipends are in effect today! What Dabo is not for is the “professionalism” of student athletes. Saban, Beamer, Mack Brown and most college coaches agree with Dabo’s position on this, yet I don’t see anyone criticizing them for holding this exact same viewpoint.

People just project their problems and insecurities in life into Him that’s all haha
Go to sleep Josh, maybe you dream up something worth talking about !
My nephew's friend is a diehard gamecock and when he was younger he made it his mission to ruin Dabo's persona. He spent hours a day slamming Dabo about behind liar, fake Cristian and just a salesman.
How do you know that he’s not fake Josh? I’ve been around people that know him , he’s fake unless you’re apart of his family. He doesn’t care about these kids , he cares about what these kids can do for him!
This is categorically false. - JP

Eric… you have never met him. I have. I have met folks who have known him for a long time too and they all are amazed by him. I’ve yet to meet a Dabo acquaintance ever say Dabo was inauthentic. EVER. So stop talking out of your arse. Hate really is an ugly trait.
US culture is loosing its wheels.....🤣🤣🤣🤣 what a bunch of BS!
Dabo is about as fake as Lane Kiffin, go vols
Kiffin about to win the SEC west this year. 👍🙌
@@hufferbillypaw if the sec west was a clown show you might be right
I remember that a bunch of players got caught with PED's in their systems. It got swept under the rug though. Oh yea, he also ranked Ohio State 11 in 2021.
A “bunch” (3 players) got caught with “PEDs” (ostarine..which is found in many supplements including ones approved by NCAA and doesnt always pop in a drug test). Got swept under the rug (they were promptly suspended for the semifinal and final against Bama). Oh yea he also ranked Ohio State 11 (they played a grand total of 6 regular season games no shit he ranked them low congrats on beating Clemson for the 1st time ever then immediately getting demolished by a team that played DOUBLE the games in the same season)
I’ve met him and he is very arrogant and not someone I would want to be around off camera.
I don’t believe you.
Yeah "sandstormshow" is almost certainly a gamecock fan. Of course they won't like Dabo. Its natural rivalry.
Tell me, what is Dabo's specialty? Is he a football culture guru? Is he just extremely lucky? He's not an offensive savant like Kiffin or Sark. He isn't a defensive guru like Saban or Smart. Last season proved he couldn't make the tough decision to go a different direction with his QB for fear of losing the team. Last season also proved he couldn't coach coaches very well, either. What is he consistently good at doing? Had Dabo been in the SEC over the same period he's been a little ol Clempson in the ACC, how would his record look? I'd say that record would be around .600.
Dabo is an overall manager of football and motivator of his players. And please, don't even go there with the SEC bull. He's beaten the SEC champion more than once. If it really is so much harder to win a Natty in the SEC, then why don't some of those teams come over to the ACC? Do they not like winning championships?
After beating Alabama twice for the Natty, with recruiting classes that ranked well below Alabama, Ohio State, and Georgia every year, you, like many others question this guy's ability to coach. This guy with very little coaching experience, took over a team that was struggling then take them to the top of mountain twice. You guys are lame for not understanding that Dabo is brilliant.
Understand Dabo understands that you cannot micro manage the coordinators, unlike Jimbo Fisher. They must be allowed to make mistakes so they can hopefully learn and grow from those experiences. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn’t. Ask Tony Elliott and Brent V. They both tell you that Dabo is all about building folks up, not tearing them down. But hey, outsiders can hate and naysay all they want. Dabo really couldn’t care less about those folks. He is a much too. Busy and important to really give crap about the haters out there.😂
@@davesteller6301 The same reason the ACC is about to fold: no money in the league because the competition is terrible. Look at the disbursement schools receive from the SEC coffers and you'll understand.
@@hufferbillypaw Last year was a TERRIFIC example of building his coordinators up....what a joke.
