      It seems the game is too fast for DJ, but definitely not for Cade!

    G-Mac & E-Mac! And hey! Eric Mac Lain looks a bit better on your podcast than he does on his own! Still sounds & looks like he's using the same equipment but no ear strings this time, plus he's not staring off-screen (more than usual, anyway)! Mails is in a little bit again here which is not uncommon, but you're getting better, E-Mac!

    Clemson will be in the Playoffs this year. This team reminds me a lot Georgia last year with more offense. This defense will have 3 first 15 picks in the draft is absolutely loaded with talent all over the place. DJ caught a ton of heat last year and that is the nature of the position. He looked slow in his reads and I do not believe he was completely healthy. I will say their offensive line play was not great and I would also include the WRs in the talk as well. A lot of drops and injuries in the room as well. This year the OL will be much better and I look forward to see what Coach Austin builds in this group. Clemson could lose 1 game, before the playoffs, but that is about it. If DJ plays to his potential then watch out, they will win their 4th National Title. Dabo continues to build the program the right way and the right kids are drawn to that. Look at the recruiting rankings and it is easy to see that there are kids out there that want to go to a program that wants them to succeed on and off the field.

    So I would like everyone to remember that Clemson is already dealing with a receiver group that is already accumulating injuries. Let’s also not forget about the poor play of the offensive line. I would ask Clemson fans to not pile onto to DJ with all of the factors already going on. There is no receiver in that room that anyone says “ I can’t wait till he touches the ball or lookout when he has some space”. We are losing the recruiting battles for receivers.

    • @gagemcmichael4656
      @gagemcmichael4656 Рік тому +2

      The good thing about the WR group is, Adam will be back in the first few weeks of the season, he was seen wearing a green vest in practice, EJ is healthy, Ngata is healthy, Will taylor will be back, both collins are healthy. That’s enough depth. I can’t argue with O Line but everyone comes back, that means a little. I’m not saying they are gonna become the No. 1 line but the experience and chemistry is going to be higher Atleast a little. Have you watched the practice reports? “No one has said I can’t wait till blah blah” Adam Randall has been RAVED about by streeter, and dabo. Ngata again was RAVED about. Streeter and dabo has been excited about the WR room. TEs are help a lot in the receiving game as well and it has been well documented that we have 2-4 SOLID TEs. Sage, brinningstool, price all have been good. Not saying we are gonna go undefeated and win the natty but the team is improved ALOT

    • @garyblubaugh2517
      @garyblubaugh2517 Рік тому +3

      Okay let's revisit this later this season. There are some studs at receiver/TE. This OL is one of the better ones they've had in a long time from talent wise and depth.
      That being said I see up tempo and running to be a focus to get a strong start.
      DJ will be on the spot to produce or Cade will overtake him. Hes more accurate and mobile, so it will be hard to keep off the field.

    • @markhoops24
      @markhoops24 Рік тому +2

      That’s just not true, there’s 2-3 receivers that you would say that about

    • @joesmith1815
      @joesmith1815 Рік тому +3

      No disrespect towards you because everyone is allowed an opinion, but I think you may be wrong about this one. Stellato is the only WR out for an extended period of time (although Randall is out indefinitely, he will probably be back by late September/early October). Ngata, Beaux Collins, Dacari Collins, EJ Williams (all 4/5 star recruits) and Spector (Hunter Renfrowish) are all studs and will be available week 1. Then you have great young talent with Adam Randall, Will Taylor, Antonio Williams, etc. this group is deep and will be better than 99% of people think. The O-line will be the best we’ve seen in a long time. I think they will stop the “passive” blocking style implemented in the past by Caldwell and be much more physical and aggressive at the point of attack under Coach Austin. Everything we’ve heard about DJ in camp sounds very positive, and we have no reason to question the confidence the coaches have in him. Pair all this stuff with the studs in the backfield and that is enough to give any QB confidence. I think the TE group (very talented) will be used much more under Streeter as well. I think this offense will be a complete 180 from last year, but I guess we’ll all have to wait and see! Excited for another season

    • @Greydawg

      You'd ask Clemson not to pile on DJU... but it's too late; winning alone isn't even enough. I hate it, but we are so spoiled we're willing to sacrifice depth for a shiny new toy (& the same thing next year with Vizzinia).
